Bulgogi bento box was delicious! Flavorful and generous portions. Initially I felt it was overpriced but after trying the food, I would definitely go back. The presentation and care for the take out was great also.

I always come here on my break, always fast service, amazing quality food. Love that it's also located in prime location near me. Love to eat in the plaza it's located in. Always clean.

The food is prepared well and great service even with a chain of restaurants next to each other. The vibe can be slightly chaotic but the taste of the food is fantastic. Picking up an order from here probably an ideal choice. Excellent food!!!

Bento Box Fact: The Guinness World Record for the "Most Expensive Bento" category weighs more than 4.5 kg, pried at 300,000 yen ($2,234.62 USD) and featured the best quality wagyu beef from the Tottori prefecture and served along with a serving of silky Kinu Musume rice The bento box I had at Bento Sama fetched a much smaller penny at $16.95 but I still felt bougie! My bento had teriyaki salmon with a vast accoutrement of yummy bites on the side such as a cool coleslaw of sorts, a pasta salad, sesame dressed broccoli, kimchi, two varieties of pickled ginger, a seaweed salad, a good portion of steamed rice, and more. It was great! If you're feeling peckish and want a little bit of everything under the sun, come to Bento Sama! They're inside the 99 Ranch food court so go do your grocery shopping, buy a yummy beverage, order a bento, and enjoy.

Bento Sama is inside 99 Ranch Market, great way to grab a bite before or after grocery shopping. For some of the entrees, they have a lunch or dinner price. They have other options like cold noodles, tofu soup, etc. if you're not feeling a bento. It seems like their side dishes change up depending on the day. I love bento boxes and all the variety of sides that come with the main entree. The portion was pretty large and I ate this for two meals. Everything was so fresh and delicious! ig: @cravingswithcat

What can you serve but never eat? A tennis ball. The 99 Ranch Market food court is becoming more and more popular with all their tasty offerings. From Chinese bbq, Korean fried chicken, mochi doughnuts, and now bento box meals, what's not to love? My wife and I shared a teriyaki salmon bento dinner for $16.95. The banchan offered was good, the salmon was nice and flaky, and the wife really enjoyed the seaweed soup. For one person, their dinner bento is a lot. For two, it was just enough (although we did get KoFC from K-Monster too). They're good.

Saw this place after shopping at 99 Ranch! Located inside in the food court it's a pretty interesting concept with Japanese Bento with a Korean twist. We ordered the Salmon dinner bento set for $18 and it could've easily fed two people. It had a great variety of sides including radish pickles, kimchi, macaroni salad, japchae, steamed egg, rice and seaweed soup. The salmon was grilled beautifully and came with a teriyaki dipping sauce! Wife really like the seaweed soup and we were stuffed after polishing all the food. Quick and easy and it comes in a to go box if you're in a hurry as well!

I had dental appointment across the street so I stopped to eat here because I love the pork bulgogi. The dinner portion after 3:00 p.m. is $17.99. Pork bulgogi is my favorite Korean dish because I like the slivers of fatty pork in the sweet chili sauce. And I love the little kimchi dishes that come with it. I picked Bento Sama out of all the eating choices in this 99 Ranch shopping center because some of the options were so expensive... such as eight Korean fried chicken wings for $16. One of the reviews of that place said she paid $32 for only 16 wings. Ouch. The word Bento means box tray with many sections as shown in the picture hence the word Bento box. The word Sama means teriyaki. The pork in my Pork Bulgoji was perfectly spiced and sweetened love that sauce. My only complaint is they only gave me half a cup of rice to eat with all that spicy pork. When I asked for more rice after finishing mine and I still had more than half the meat left in my bento box, the cashier looks at the cash register menu and was going to charge me for more rice. But when I told her if I ate at a sit-down restaurant, not take out, they give me as much rice as I want for free. Her face lit up as if she knew that was true and went to the back to get me a full container of rice, more than the first time, with a big smile, both free. You get to take the cool bento box in the wooden looking out of tray with clear plastic cover to take home and reuse again. So I am giving this little Bento Sama 99 Ranch food court restaurant five stars.

When I'm craving flavors I enjoy coming to 'the Ranch' ... this one around we chose Bento Sama as the main course. We both had the Bulgogi Bibimbap. I had them replace my carbs with more veggies. It didn't scream flavor as we hoped but was still good. Bulgogi amount served up was good...

Don't come for the ambiance, come for the food. It is located in the lobby of a grocery store so the atmosphere says eat quick and don't linger. :) Japanese Bentos with Korean influences are showcased on the menu with a variety of choices. Bibimpap, Dak Juk, Pork Bulgogi, musubi, chicken teriyaki and Korean ramen are some items currently being offered. We decided on the pork cutlet box from this bento business inside the food court of Ranch 99 grocery store. $15.99. Entrees are made to order, so be ready to wait 5 mins plus for you items. We received a generous serving of a pork cutlet with katsu sauce, coleslaw, green salad with Italian salad dressing, steamed rice, soup, seaweed salad and substituted bean sprouts (kongnamool) instead of the pasta salad. I was expecting an Asian dressing like ginger, soy or miso but that's okay, Italian still worked. Thin and crispy were the cutlet strips and the kongnamool delicious! The box was enough to feed two of us when we added chicken tenders from another Korean eatery just further down the strip mall. (My next review!) I'd dine like this again!

    Spicy Squid & Pork Bento

The nice Korean lady at the counter was absolutely wonderful. She recommended the spicy squid and pork combo bento... AND CAN I SAY IT WAS DELICIOUS?! It was the largest bento I have ever had with easily enough food for two people (unless they have a massive appetite lol). The ban chan was top notch. I'm not a fan of coleslaw but it was still pretty good. Flavorful and absolutely worth the money. Great for take out and am definitely going to become a regular here !!!

Our table was never cluttered, drinks were always refilled before we even had to think about it, and the meat rotations were perfectly timed. At a place like Gen where the pace can make or break the experience, he kept everything flowing smoothly. What impressed us most was his professionalism and attitude. He was knowledgeable about the menu, quick with recommendations, and confident in explaining different cuts and options. He made sure we understood how everything worked and checked in consistently to ensure we had exactly what we needed. But beyond just doing his job, he had that rare quality of genuine service. Friendly, respectful, efficient, and personable. You can tell he takes pride in representing the restaurant. He made us feel like valued guests, not just another table in a busy dining room. They have so many options, even for pescatarians and vegetarians. My husband and I were so excited, we went a little crazy. They recommend choosing 1-1.5 pound worth of ingredients and we both went over. The final step is choosing your flavor and spice levels. We both opted for #1, the malatang. For my spice level, I chose medium and my husband chose extra hot. They warned him it would be very spicy, but he likes it that way. The staff then pre-cooks the food and serves it in hot pot to keep it hot. You're able to control the heat. Oh my goodness. It was so, SO good! Flavorful and spicy. We built our own sauces at their sauce bar and came up with some really tasty ones. We couldn't finish our food, but we were able to take them to go. Ok, fine, some people might like the spicy malatang, but this is the first time I've tried spicy malatang, and it will be my last for as long as I can help it! There's nothing fancy about this restaurant. It's DIY, self serve. For the malatang, you grab a very large bowl and put everything your heart desires in it (I'm talking about seafood, meats, protein, veggies, carbs, etc, not everything you desire in a man/woman), you bring it to the counter, and pick your soup base, and they bring it out on a burner, and you start chowing!
