    Japchae & mini kimbap

Noticed soft opening sign here so we stopped in. They had wide selection of banchan including fresh made kimchi. It's great idea for a place to stop and get some side dishes to take home. However, selection is somewhat very similar to what you find at Hmart across the street. We brought home japchae and mini gimbap. Tasted exactly how you would expect. I have high hopes they start selling things you wouldn't find at the grocery store. Prices are about the same as grocery store too. Will check again after they officially open and serve food. To be continued.

My friend loves the kimbap from H Mart so we decided to a direct comparison with the kimbap here to try it out. We got the beef one to compare and this place won! The difference is subtle, but there's more seasoning and flavor to the one here (plus it's a $1 less which is always nice but a minuscule factor). We also tried their small kimbap with fish cake since we had never seen it sized like this and it was nice with the spicy radish. I liked how it had less rice, but would've like another fish cake perhaps. The store was nicely cooled down with the roaring 110+ degree weather out. There's 3 fridges of sides and one with special dishes on one side of the store. The kimbap and other dishes were placed in a middle table with seating on the other side. There's 3 different kimbap: beef, fish cake, and vegetarian. Would come back to try more!

This place is run by the sweetest lady, and they have the freshest tastiest banchan ever. If you've ever had a korean side dish, kimchi, etc., this place will have the best version of that you have ever tried. The lady that works here and every other worker here has been so hospitable and helpful with recommendations and information. It's a little slow here sometimes, and I really wish they got the business they deserve, because they make the best stuff. Their whole shop is really clean and tidy as well. Love this place!

    Soft opening!

Came to check out Arirang Banchan for their soft opening and I'm glad I did! They serve a wide variety of Korean side dishes and dosirak (Korean lunch box sets) and I picked up a stir fried fish cake, stir fried anchovies and mini kimbap. Everything was delicious and you can tell the family here prepared the dishes with love and care! Kimbap was delicious and fresh, anchovies were perfectly crispy and came with walnuts and the fish cake was the perfect amount of chew and spice. They told me after their soft opening they're planning on serving more dishes that aren't just grand and go so I'm looking forward to when they do as I love my Korean diners. Definitely will be back to try more dishes! (To add more context this ain't your prepackaged dishes from Hmart or Asiana. They have your moms touch of home cooking here)

Super happy there's a dedicated banchan store now! They're tucked in the corner of the plaza a bit hard to find but definitely worth it! I ordered 3 different dishes to try with my boyfriend and they were all so delicious! The fish cakes had a nice chew to them and were nicely seasoned while the seaweed and stir-fried fishes were also delicious but on the salty side. They would pair perfectly with a nice bowl of rice! The person working (the son?) also offered to package our items up with ice which I thought was super kind. They're going to start serving food within the next week or so - so make sure you stop by and check them out! I'm waiting for when they stock some stir-fried lotus roots... those are my absolutely favorite. TLDR: If there's any small business to support in Mesa - it's this one! Delicious to-go side dishes and food that won't disappoint. Follow @leafynoms on instagram for more foodie reviews! :)

Any waiter that hears the bell comes to your table to assist. The response never took longer than 20 seconds most of the time. To start the appetizer tray at the beginning is an awesome touch that I'm not used to in other places I have tried. It kind of took the guess work out of ordering in my opinion so I only had to focus on what meat or dish I wanted since my sides were already selected and refillable for free through the course of the meal. We ordered the seafood sundubu, beef bulgogi, and sweat and spicy korean fried chicken wings. The portion size was very generous on the wings and on the crispier side which my wife prefers. The seafood sundubu was delicious and was pleasantly surprised to see a decent amount of tofu and seafood types in the dish. The beef bulgogi was also tasty and as I said before just scratched that korean food craving that we had. This has been added to our rotation of date night locations for us! Oh also the bathrooms are very clean.

On the table there is a button to call the waiter for ordering or for any other needs. Each Korean restaurant seems to offer a bit of variety in their dishes, and sometimes a specialty dish that the others Korean restaurants do not. We started off with seafood pancake and it had shrimp, octopus and large green onion. I would have appreciated a bit more seafood, but it was cooked crispy on the outside and nice and thick. The dipping sauce was very good. We ordered beef bulgogi ssam-bap (serves 2) which traditionally can be eaten with a lettuce wrap, garlic and ssamjang (non-spicy red paste). It arrived with a diverse tray of greens, perilla leaves and carrots, samjang and garlic. The greens were enough to feed kennel of at least four rabbits. The beef was a fair amount however it was overcooked. It also arrived with a soup and ban chan of 8 items. These provide a variety of the traditional side dishes, or ban chan of Korean food. We also ordered a cold namyeong soup with a side of kalbi. The soup had daikon radish and is traditionally eaten in the summer. The kalbi had the tender soft meat that is its highlight. Overall, we had a great experience and while Korean food is traditionally a meal that runs about $20 a person, it has an aesthetic presentation, it is flavorful, especially with umami, and it is fairly healthy. I would definitely return again and it is a great place to enjoy the meal with other others.

It was pretty quiet when we came by. The actual space is fairly modern with TVs and decor that feels very Asian (even the water jugs!). I actually came here a while ago and wasn't a big fan, making me think I just didn't like tofu. However, this time around, I LOVED what I got. I ordered the Vegetarian Mixed Vegetable Tofu Soup (and asked to make it spicy). It was so good -- really deep flavors alongside a great level of heat. The tofu was delicious and perfectly soft. The rice it came with was also really good -- I'm not sure exactly what it was. The service was fine, but a bit slow given we were one of two tables in the restaurant.

I feel like I got burnt out on it a while back but eating with a vegan had me pleasantly surprised when they brought me here to try their house-made tofu dishes. I really enjoyed their difference in bon chan and was delighted by their $.50 hot drink station at the front. It was cute and very whimsical to get a korean milk coffee out of a quickie machine that presents its own cup when you insert quarters like you're traveling abroad. I liked it a lot. When you're sitting in their little booths, it's also very private and you can also view their process of making tofu in the back on the televisions on the side while you eat it, which is very informative as well. The staff was very clean and prompt at taking orders and never missed anything either, so I definitely appreciated the wait staff and attitude as always.

They are a little further than I typically would have gone for delivery, but we figured it would travel well and were craving something from our usual Mexican food fix. I cannot speak for the interior or vibe of the space, but takeout was great. We ordered two bowls with bulgogi beef. You can choose your own base, veggies and sauces, so very customizable! I got part brown rice and greens with every veggie option I could get! I was unable to add an egg on the delivery platform, (maybe due to poor traveling?), though it does look like they may offer this in person. We then got some kimchi fries to share. You also get your option of protein on this, which we had selected chicken bulgogi. Shortly after placing order, we received a call from the Bibio team that they were out of a few sauces we had selected, as well as the chicken bulgogi, we made some quick substitutes and upon delivery they had included some complimentary mandu which were delicious and a really kind gesture and really went the extra mile without having to. Overall, everything we got was delicious, flavorful, awesome portions and great as leftovers. The kimchi fries were very good, but I think better for dining in, as most fries are, so I would absolutely order and try them again on an in person visit, but maybe avoid for long drives. Thanks so the great Bibio team for a wonderful first experience and extra great service even while dining out!
