My company was having an onsite to the Phoenix location, and mentioned this location was a tradition for dinner after work. I was intrigued as I've never been, but do enjoy trying more Korean food as I've liked a few dishes I've had in the past. What We Ordered: - Haemul Pajun (seafood pancake): this was delicious and perfect for sharing! Easily able to share with 4-6 people. - Kimchi Jun (vegetarian): This dish was ordered for the vegetarians and they enjoyed. Also, a dish that could easily be shared for 4-6 people. - Bosam: Amazed at how large this platter was! We could have easily had our table of 12 split this, but we had ordered one for each side of the table. We had some after entrees, but we worked to polish it off to avoid any waste as it was a great dish. I'm normally not a pork fan, but I did try a piece and it was good. - Dol Pan Bibim Bap: this came out sizzling and loved the cast iron it was served in. This was very delicious and I'd definitely order again! Shoutout for accommodating a table of 12, and making this a great experience for a company dinner. This place is a legend for our NYC office folks, and I'm glad I got to finally try. I'll definitely be recommending to my local family and friends.
Recommend: Yes! Time over time, always consistent. Always delicious. Service: great, kind staff. Sometimes a bit slow but they're just really busy. Ambiance: make you feel like a Korean restaurant. Tip for first timer: try their tofu soup. It is savory, healthy, and low carb. Always been one of my top favorite place here for Korean food. You get your traditional Korean food and tofu soup. Since we been here so often, sometimes I do wish they expand their menu or offer some new dishes lol. But it's still a great place.

When you walk in, expect to be greeted boldly. The servers probably won't walk over to show you to your table, but they'll be quick to bring a menu and some complimentary waters. I tried the seafood pancake and the bibimbap with galbi. I was surprised by the size of my bowl (and that the meat was precut for me!) the complimentary radish soup and Banchan were a nice surprise/addition. I really enjoyed the kimchi and the cucumber kimchi. And I appreciated that the steamed broccoli was cream/mayo-free. Flavorwise this is probably the best Korean food I've had in AZ (but not the best I've ever had in the US).
It's been awhile since I've eaten here feels like. Got invited to eat here for the stay of the new year and ever since, I've gone 2 more times in less than a month. I just love their galbi and beef or chicken bulgogi along with the ban chan side dishes. Those are good go-to staple dishes. And then tofu soup on the side is always a nice edition. We also got some delicious fatty eel. Yummy! Aside from the excellent food, the service is quite fast and efficient unlike most restaurants seems like. The staff are young and fit and attentive to taking your order and getting you what you need. Wish all the restaurants have the same work ethic. Every time we go, the place gets filled up fast for a busy weekend and it doesn't seem like a long wait either. The restaurant space is pretty big and can accommodate larger groups. Can't wait to go again!
I lovee hodori! I wanted to try something new today, so I got the sul lung tang which is ox bone broth with beef and rice noodle. It was so good!! They give you salt, so you can add however much you like and it really brings out the rich flavor. I loved how it came with rice noodles and rice. I would definitely get it again. It cost $13.95. I love all of their banchan sides. I dont know if they do fish cake anymore, but that was always my favorite. I liked their sweet potato and cucumbers today, but all of it was so good. Super delicious! Service was kinda slow, but so worth the wait. There is a lot of tables, so I never have to wait when I go. Very cute mom and pop restaurant!
Hodori is one of my favorite korean restaurants in arizona. I usually order their combo meal deal which includes any choice tofu soup and kids size meal bulgolgi for $21.95. I love how there is unlimited side dishes that you can get refills on. My favorites are the sweet potatoes and bean sprouts. Service is somewhat slow, but I know they are making the food with lots of love. I always have some food to take home to go. There are plenty of tables inside the restaurant. Parking is so easy. I will definitely be coming back.
Enjoyed a late Saturday dinner here with a group of 5. Waiter pieced together 3 tables so we had enough room. Ordered the following family style: Hodori tofu soup special ($14.95) - good broth flavor, not super packed with ingredients [came with two each of the items listed: shrimp, clams, oysters]. Fish roe tofu soup ($14.95) - didn't try this, but the friend who got it said it was very tasty! Bossam ($31.95) - got this as an entree to supplement the soups. Generous amount of tasty bossam, split between 4 ppl. Ended up asking for more napa and garlic/jalapenos, since we were conservative with our initial wraps. Chicken bulgogi ($20.95) - decent portion, slight sweetness, good char flavor of dark meat. Came on a generous bed of sliced sweet onions. Enjoyed the banchan (fishcakes, marinated cucumbers, soybean sprouts, kimchi, boiled broccoli), pretty standard in terms of selection. Topped up on fishcakes. Overall, reasonably priced, good flavor, and probably my favorite option for Korean food in the valley.
First time here. We actually ate at the ramen and Sushi restaurant next door, and saw Hodori. The pictures and menu looked so good, so we had to come back the next day for lunch! We came early, so seating was not a problem, but when we left, the place was packed and had people waiting for seats. Everything looked good, prices were very fair. Ordered seafood pancake, mushroom stew, codfish stew, and broiled eel. Everything was pretty good, just the Eel, served on a hot plate with onion, had a little funky taste. Not spoiled or anything, just tasted a little different. Overall, everything was delicious! Service was good, no complaints.

We got 4 dishes and loved all of them. The seafood pancake was crispy on the outside and lots of seafood inside. The Korean short ribs were tender and not burnt, which is good sign for me. The kimchi fried rice was huge, and I like the flavor of their kimchi. The cold noodles was refreshing for summer! A little bit acidic and sweet, really balanced. Will come back again to tried different dishes.
I've been here a lot, it has a great homey vibe and the food is really comforting. Their menu is huge so it's pretty hard to choose. My favorites are the kimchi fried rice, and the grilled pork belly. Not a huge fan of their kimchi soup, I think it's too sour, but their seollangtang was really amazing! Workers here aren't always super nice, but they're usually very busy serving many tables at once so I never mind, I'm here for the food. Banchans are always good here too! Always gonna be a hodori fan
My absolute favorite Korean restaurant in Arizona! Every time I visit from out of state, this place is a mandatory stop. I've tried a huge variety of dishes across the menu, and I've genuinely never been disappointed -- everything is consistently excellent. The standouts for me are the spicy tofu soup, kalbi, and seolleongtang.
We tried this Korean restaurant for the first time and were very impressed! We went during lunch hour so was able to take advantage of their lunch specials. We ordered the spicy beef brisket soup and galbi. We also ordered boss am from their regular menu. Everything was very delicious! I had never tried bossam before and was very impressed with how tender and tasty the pork belly was and loved the Napa cabbage, salted shrimp, shaming and the spicy radish that came with it. It was such a nice balance and I enjoyed it very much. We will definitely return here anytime we have a craving for Korean food. read more
I'm Korean so I know good Korean food, and in my opinion, Hodori comes closest to the Korean food I grew up with here in Arizona. We ordered the bossam and the portion was incredibly generous. The pork belly was tender and absolutely delicious. It was so good wrapped up in the Napa cabbage with a bit of the salted shrimp, saamjang, jalapeño slice, raw garlic and the spicy radish salad. Really loved the spicy radish salad. Yumm chef's kiss! We also ordered the BBQ short ribs and the spicy beef brisket soup from their lunch menu offered Monday- Friday from 11AM-2PM. Everything was really flavorful and tasty. I will say the banchan was the least impressive part of the meal, although I really liked their kimchi. We were very satisfied with our meal and had a ton of leftovers as the portion sizes are huge. I actually enjoyed the leftovers for another four meals. Yes, there was that much food! Will definitely return and highly recommend if you're looking for some good Korean food. read more
One of our favorite Korean spots in Arizona! Hodori never disappoints, and everything we ordered was delicious. We got the galbi, seafood pancake, neungmyun, and kimchi fried rice, and honestly, I'd order all of it again. The neungmyun was especially refreshing on a hot Arizona summer day -- cold, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. The galbi was tender, and the seafood pancake and kimchi fried rice were both great pairings as well with the generous bonchon It's definitely a busy restaurant, so be prepared for a lively atmosphere. We were seated in a corner that got pretty hot, which was probably my only complaint. Yum. Got the fish roe spicy tofu soup and it came with kim chi, rice, and accoutrements. I got take out so can't comment too much on the ambiance, but the food was hot, with a good portion, and very tasty. It also felt very healthy. read more

I've been to Hodori multiple times, and I usually get takeout because I am always craving it. It is such great, authentic Korean food. I just tried their spicy cold noodles for the first time and they were delicious. They are more on the saucier side rather than soupy, but still packed with great flavor. I always order their kalbi because it truly has the best taste and is one of my favorites on the menu. When you order, it comes complimentary with sides like kimchi, cucumbers, fish cakes, broccoli, and sprouts, even with takeout. The service is always quick and everyone is super welcoming. It is a great little spot for authentic Korean food. Also good tip, you cannot order directly from their official website and have to use other platforms, but if you call, it is usually a dollar or so cheaper! read more
3.5 Kimchi jjigae was delicious and 100% authentic with tons of lean pork and kimchi. My husband loved it. My skate nyengmyeon (hwae nyengmyeon) was bathed in an overly sweet gochujang. What a pity, because the noodles and contents were good. It was so sweet that it started to taste repetitive. I couldn't finish it all. The banchan: broccoli, unusual but ok. Potatoes in soya were sweet and the oyi kimchi had a sweet gochujang. After a while, things started to taste sweet and one-dimensional. Not sure if Korean-Americans like things sweeter. Next time I'll stick to ttukbegae dishes. Prices were extremely reasonable. Service was pleasant. read more

Hodori is hands-down my favorite Korean restaurant in town! My go-to dish is the seafood pancake , perfectly crispy on the outside and loaded with plenty of seafood inside. I usually get the soon tofu soup combo with galbi, which is always super flavorful and customizable to your spice level. (Sometimes I even splurge and add ramen which is totally worth it!) When I'm with a group, we often order the bossam which includes steamed pork served with napa cabbage. It's a generous portion and feels surprisingly healthy with the balance of meat and veggies. Service can be a bit slow during peak hours, but the staff never forget about you and always make sure your food comes out fresh. The place itself is casual and cozy , definitely a bit of a hole-in-the-wall vibe but that's part of its charm. I'll definitely keep coming back for more of their comforting tofu soup and Korean favorites! read more
Hodori Korean restaurant liked by many locals serving traditional Korean dishes and tasty complimentary sides aka "banchan" like kimchi, bean sprouts, fish cake, sweet potatoes, pickled cucumbers, etc. There's a Lunch Special Menu available Monday - Friday, 11:00am - 2:00pm (excluding holidays). Dined in for lunch with a large group aside from being already busy they were able to accommodate us and reserved tables for us. Service was good and staff were working hard. Had to wave a couple of them down for refills at times, understandable it was a packed restaurant. On the menu: Jap Chae Haemul Pajun - Seafood Pancake with scallions Spicy Pork Bulgolgi Chok Kalbi - Marinated Beef Short Ribs Bibim Bap Kimchi Chigae - Kimchi Stew with Pork O Jing Uh Bokum - Squid sautéed in spicy sauce with vegetables All the complimentary Banchan Everything we ordered was pretty good! Food seasoned well and the spice levels were on point too. Everyone enjoyed dining here for lunch we were all happy and bellies were full. read more

Hodori has some of the best service I've ever experienced. It's usually the same few guys working every time I go in, and they are genuinely some of the kindest people ever. I've been there many times with my boyfriend and friends, and the service is always amazing -- my water is never empty and the food is consistently fantastic. What really stood out to me was that when I came in alone last time, I still received the exact same level of care and kindness. You can really tell they value every customer who walks through the door. read more

I've been looking for a restaurant with good Korean food and we found Hodori. I was unsure of what to order because they have so much to choose from. We started off with a kimchi pancake, it has onions, pork, and kimchi. I was a little surprised with the flavor, it was absolutely amazing. I don't think I've ever had anything like it. I'm not a huge kimchi fan but this combination of food was delicious. I went ahead and ordered the Traditional Bulgogi, it had a soup base, cabbage, carrots, onions, vermicelli noodles, and ribeye beef. The flavor of the broth was a little sweet but flavorful. It does come out very hot, boiling actually, so it stayed hot the whole time we were there eating. My boyfriend ordered a tofu combo, so it was a tofu soup and it also came with a kids kalbi. The kalbi was Korean BBQ short ribs marinated in kalbi sauce. The flavor of these ribs was unreal. They were packed with flavor, it had a smokey taste to it, and the meat was so tender and juicy. Next time we come here again, I'll definitely be getting an order of those ribs. They also give you some white rice with the food, as well as some broccoli with garlic, kimchi, potatoes in sweet sauce, cucumber salad, and bean sprouts. The cucumber salad was tasty, also the potatoes, and broccoli. Everything we ordered was more than enough food, we had plenty of leftovers. Our waiter was very attentive, he always came in to check in on us, gave us what we needed, and was very friendly. The place was pretty spacious and had a lot of seating options. When we got there it was very busy, we had to write our name down and wait like 30 minutes but the food made it worth the wait. I definitely recommend checking this place out!! read more
Hodori is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that's unassuming, yet you can tell it focuses on more authentic Korean dishes and flavors. It was nice to find a Korean restaurant that offers a variety of authentic dishes instead of just the well known Korean BBQ. If you want to explore other Korean foods beyond BBQ, this is the place to go! Their menu features a variety of options including different types of soon tofu soup, cold noodle dishes, casseroles/hot pots, rice plates, seafood, and stews. As is customary, all meals come with the standard Korean banchan side dishes. My husband and I shared the Haemul Pajun which was a seafood pancake with scallions as an appetizer. The pancake was wonderfully crispy and packed with ingredients. My husband wasn't a fan of the octopus tentacles, but it didn't bother me! Lol For my entrée, I ordered the Yook Gae Jang which is the spicy beef brisket soup with green onions and vermicelli noodles. If you like spicy food, this definitely has a bit of a kick to it! I also love vermicelli noodles so it was a perfect addition to this soup. Overall, we had a delicious meal and it was a nice change from the usual Korean BBQ. A bonus tip: if you don't live nearby in Mesa like I do, swing by Best Hong Kong Dining and grab some roast duck or roast pork to go for a delicious treat later in the week. read more

This is my favorite Korean restaurant in Arizona, hands-down. My family has been coming here for years. Many of the servers know us and remember our order. The food quality is very consistent. They will give you unlimited refills of banchan (Korean side dishes) to go with your meal. My favorites are the broccoli, the cucumber, the potatoes (a good mix of sweet and savory), and the fish cake. They'll also give you free refills of steamed white rice. If you get kalbi, ask them for scissors and tongs to more easily cut it. While we didn't get it this time, the Haemul Pajun (#45, seafood pancake with scallions) and Bosam (#51, steamed pork and napa cabbage with radish kimchi) are big hits with larger groups. On the weekends, the restaurant gets packed and service can be a bit slower - but it's always worth the wait! They don't take reservations, but the restaurant is big and can fit a lot of people. Do yourself a favor, and try the best Korean food I've had outside of Korea! read more
Haven't been Hodori for so long, but I think their food tastes better than before. Banchans are simple but all yummy and healthy, I got to try their Mixed (beef and seafood) tofu soup and traditional bulgogi. Tofu soup was yummy, broth was good and traditional bulgogi was huge with glass noodles and lots of veggies. It was a bit sweet, but was yummy! Service was ok though, it took them like 15 minutes to give us check.. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in the valley! Any time I find out a friend hasn't been before I have to take them. The prices are super reasonable, especially for the huge portions they give. I also appreciate the generous portions of banchan that come with each meal. I usually get the yook gae jang (spicy beef soup) or nakji dol pan (spicy octopus on rice), both of which are amazing. This time around, I got the yook gae jang along with the sea food pancake, which is also a must for an appetizer, very crispy and overall just great texturally and flavor wise! Service is reasonable, it can be a little hectic at busy hours, but it's really not an issue. I recommend this place to anybody, especially if you're with friends as the portions are huge and shareable! read more

Ordered to go the bibimbap #27 item in the menu. I got it cold but you can also get it hot which is also listed on the menu. Picked up within 15 minutes of ordering on a Saturday afternoon before the dinner rush. When I got there I was immediately helped by someone at the cash register. Bibimbap and the side dishes were AMAZING! So flavorful and the sizes were very generous. I absolutely loved it. read more
