I'm coming around to this Korean-Chinese cuisine, also known as Sino-Korean cuisine, franchise. Updating my review since I recently tried and quite enjoyed their Tangsuyuk and Spicy Chicken. While still not a fan of their jajangmyeon, I gotta say their tangsuyuk and spicy chicken has me wanting to come back for more. Portions are generous, easily shareable between two or three, and it's tasty. Come check out the Asian food court. This place is excellent! I have been here twice in yr last few weeks. We have gotten the jajangmyeon and spicy seafood soup! Both so good. The seafood soup was a very large portion and the right amount of ratio of seafood to noodles. We really enjoyed coming here. I would definitely recommend it! read more

Located in the Asiana supermarket food court! It was OK. My friend and I ordered the jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk to share. We felt that although the jajangmyeon noodles were cooked just right, the black bean sauce fell short of our expectations. It was definitely missing some flavor, as it turned out to be a bit on the bland side. We added some chili powder to spice it up a little, but it was still not quite right. I prefer my mom's lol. As for the tangsuyuk, we enjoyed this more! The chicken had a really yummy chewy and crispy texture, and I loved how the sauce came on the side. It was perfectly sweet. I would love to try Paik's Noodle again but probably at a sit-down restaurant rather than a stall. read more

Came back a year later bc I forgot what it tasted like lol. Typically I get jajangmyun from Jeong's in H Mart since it's closer to me, but have been disappointed in it lately. This one is located in the Asiana market food court. Spacious area with lots of seats. We thoroughly enjoyed the noodles from Paik's. Big portion, nice and chewy, flavored well. Pieces of pork are tiny so wish there was a bit more protein but it was fine. Sauce leans slightly more sweet than Jeong's. Service is a bit slow but not terrible. We'll def be back! read more

We ate here numerous times before H mart even existed. The Jajangmeoyn (black bean noodles), Jjampong (seafood soup noodles) and fried dumplings are really good. The thing that stands out is the noodle texture, it is Al dente and slurpy good. It is almost like hand pulled noodles, definitely a notch above Jeong's noodle texture. The unlimited complimentary yellow pickled radish and water was in a self serve area prior to the pandemic. I have not seen it since the pandemic. They put the pickled radish in a container, yes, they are quite generous compared to Jeong's. And they will give you water if you ask. Hopefully, they bring that back on my next trip to AZ. lol Jeong's noodles in H mark don't even give you water. I also like that Asiana market have a designated area for dirty trays, after everyone busted their own. read more

I really like Paiks. The noodles and fried rices are amazing. I've had several dishes there and I've enjoyed them all. My favorite is the stir-fried jajangmyeon. It's stir-fried noodles with shrimp, squid, and vegetable in a black bean sauce .i also really enjoy the spicy chicken. On cold rainy days, i really enjoy the Jjamppong. It's a spicy noodle soup with pork, squid, mussels, and vegetables. The portions are large. You can share if you haves regular appetite. Expect to take some home if it's just you. You should also get a mandu (dumplings) with your order. If you're in the mood for Korean., Paiks Noodle is a fantastic spot. read more

They're actually pretty good, better than I had expected for the Phoenix area as I'm used to the restaurants in Los Angeles. My expectations were actually exceeded. The jajangmyeon here definitely hit the spot! I ordered for pickup via Grubhub and my order was ready as soon as I arrived at Asiana. The noodles were the perfect al dente texture, and the sauce was the perfect savory and (very slightly) sweet combo. All of my cravings were satisfied! In my opinion, I much prefer jajangmyeon to Chinese-style black bean noodles because of that slight sweetness of the sauce, and so Paik's Noodle delivered in that regard. My order came with pickled radish, which I didn't seem to need because the flavor of the jajangmyeon was balanced on its own. The only thing I'd change is increasing the noodle-to-sauce ratio, since I had enough sauce left over for about one more small serving. I'll definitely be back for more! read more

UGH, I love this place! Black bean noodles in general is one of my favorite foods and I can never find restaurants that have them (but also maybe I'm not looking hard enough). So, whenever I come here I always get the black bean noodles and they never disappoint! I recently came with my family for lunch and we shared the jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), jjamppong (seafood noodle soup), tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and the gunmandu (fried dumplings). Everything was delicious and especially the noodles! The noodles are always cooked perfectly and soaks up the black bean sauce as well as the broth in the jjamppong. The gunmandu and tangsuyuk were also both delicious but I do feel that the tangsuyuk used to be crispier so they weren't as good as they normally were. However, overall I love this place and am always excited when I get to come back! read more

The flavor was a little on the mild side and I added extra chili powder located at there condiment section to help. The black bean noodle was also very large and the better of the two I ordered. New Chef, New Taste New Star! **** Came back to give Paik's another try and was delighted beyond! The food has so much improved an added star was in order. Ordered the Jjammpong, and Jajangmyeon (my favorites) and a world of difference ensued. Downright fresh, tasty, and beautifully plated and presented. It's wonderful these plates have improved as will my presence. *************Update**************** I'm hoping it was Grand Opening shivers, or first week of business jitters. Whatever made this meal less than stellar, I'm willing to try Paik's Noodle again. Can't say it was downright awful (no resurrection there) but it left an impression perhaps the kitchen was not quite ready to handle the loads of people. With all this being said, here's the skinny: We ordered a total of 3 dishes: Jjamppong- the best of the 3 dishes although thats not saying very much. It was deficient in the flavorful spiciness thats shown in the picture. It was fresh and smelled good but lacked depth. Tangsuyuk- this is usually a favorite of mine most likely because its fried. Again, there was a missing element of flavor; tried with and without the sauce to depict what was failing but couldn't place it. Jajangmyeon- looked beautiful, had a great aroma, and was piping hot! I was excited to dig in and then Boom! Reality hit! Flat as a door. Disappointment is a soft word here. This dish somehow had an "industrial" taste such as plastic or vinyl; very hard to describe. Upon reflection, the food tasted as though it was "hurriedly" made/cooked. Without enough time allowed for the flavors to mesh and develop. Hence my theory that the kitchen was unable to quickly produce meals for the Grand Opening mass of people. Ordered online and let me say I wasn't disappointed. First off the prices are amazing, I ordered the jjajangmyeon, and pork dumplings. The noodles take me back to Korea Town in LA, where the best Korean food is located. I am from California and I can tell you this place and their noodles are top tier, flavors on sauce is good. The dumplings were cooked perfectly because the best way to eat them is steam them first and lightly pan fry, works all the time. The only thing I needed was some white vinegar and onion with some kimchi and it would of taken me all the way back! So happy I found this hidden gem and I can't wait to come back again!!! read more

I had a pretty debilitating bout of stomach flu last week, and this was the first day I could finally eat something other than applesauce, chicken noodle soup, and congee. I figured why not celebrate by trying out this new eatery? I got here on opening day maybe an hour after they officially opened. It looked like half the Asian population in the Phoenix area was eating here lol. The menu is pretty succinct but all the items on it looked delicious. There was a really long lag in ordering since there seemed to be a little confusion with some existing orders. When it was my turn to order I went with the #5 jajangmyeon. I actually wanted to get it to go but apparently they don't offer that here (Boo). Although I had to wait a long time to actually order the jajangmyeon was made in a few short minutes. It looked so tempting and was a big portion. We grabbed some chopsticks, etc. from the side counter (It also had forks, napkins, and condiments). I took it to one of the tables in the food court area and started digging in! The noodles were plentiful and cooked a touch beyond "al dente". The sauce was smooth but the flavor wasn't as bold as other jajangmyeon I've had in the past. It was too oily for my tastes and I would have liked more cucumber(?) than the small tiny mound on top. I was also disappointed to find that 90% of the sauce had only onion and cabbage in it, with some small scraps of meat. I didn't see any options for beverages here (Other than a water cooler in the corner) which I thought was odd but I suppose you could just buy a beverage from Tous Les Jours next door. Although I didn't totally enjoy the jajangmyeon, some other items on the menu looked really enticing, especially the tangsuyuk so I will be back to try more! read more

The cashier tonight was rude and almost angry when asked for anything. If you were Korean descent she was hospitable. If you were white she was civil. Finally a decent place to get jajangmyeun in AZ. This place recently opened and it's still bit chaotic when ordering, but the orders come out fast and hot. Everyone seems to order jajangmyeun and jjampong combo to share so not very complicated in ordering. I also tried tangsuyuk here and it was really good. It had nice crunch from rice flower coating and came with sweet sauce with vegetables. Menu is simple and last time I was there they didn't offer mandoo yet, but hope they do real soon. Location is perfect next to the new Asiana Market. I can see this place very popular among Asians like me who like to shop and eat. read more

After being forgotten about at Katsu, my friend and I were directed to Paik's. We decided to place an order for the number 8, which is basically fried pork with veggies and sweet and sour sauce. The lady helping us was nice, and she even gave us a 20% discount because of what happened at Katsu. I thought that was great. However, the food was not. It lacked flavor completely, everything just tasted of the sweet and sour sauce, which granted we realized would be the sauce but there was no other flavor in the dish at all. Damn this was tasty! We had the dumplings (Gunmandu 8pc), the sweet chili shrimp (Chili Saeu), and the black soybean noodles (Jajangmyeon Noodle). All were fantastic. I don't feel like getting crazy into detail, and that says a lot about me. Look at any of my previous reviews, they're novels. I'm so happy, and so full. I will say one thing... The black soybean noodles tastes faintly like spaghetti-o's. Like the classiest most sophisticated spaghetti-o's you've ever had and with delicious pieces of pork & the tastier mouth feel that is full thick noodles. It was so good. This was a long overdue dish that is popular in Korea. I loved the noodles and the dish as a whole. While I thought it was going to be super spicy since it was so red, it was not and that provided a flavor profile that was complex, but one you could make spicier on your own. Recent change in chef has turned this yucky place into super delicious! The chef and owner who used to own Sun Chinese in Chandler is now the chef and the jjajang and jjamppong is so crazy good! Paik's makes a tasty noodle bowl! Had some pretty basic dishes, but you get more than you pay for. They have all kinds of noodle bowls. The staff was friendly as well! A good choice for korean style noodles in Mesa AZ. This place is located in the food court within Asiana Market. Service was pretty quick. You also get an unlimited amount of pickled radishes The #5 item on the menu jajangmyeon was definitely the highlight. The sauce was strong but not overwhelming. The thick noodles mixed well with the sauce. The pork in the dish was tastey too. We also ordered the #3 item beef jjamppong. The soup is a bit on the bland side but still good. Anything would seem bland compared to the jajangmyeon I guess . This bowl is on the large size; the portions are quite large which is always nice. Overall, I would recommend checking this place out. I have never been to a spot where the cashier is so rude. Ma'am you charge enough that there is no need to have an ugly attitude. I'm really hoping this isn't the racism so many speak about Asians towards other Nationalities other than the whites that marry into your culture.
