I've had the jjajjangmyeon here a number of times, and although it isn't the typical black bean noodles most of us are familiar with, it's still pretty good. Definitely on the sweet side. Usually the noodles are topped with cucumber, but they must have been out because today they were topped with...peas? No big deal, I actually like peas a bit more than cucumber! Not to mention the pork and onions inside are thick and have a nice texture. For those who haven't been in the Asiana Market, this is basically part of a food court--and one of the less expensive of the selections. It's under $10 for a pretty large and filling bowl. The last time I ate here I paid a bit more attention to the menu, and it appears as if it's bigger now. I'll have to venture out of my bubble and try the other items. read more

So then I went for myself with a friend and ordered the jajangmyeon. The portion was enough for 2 people in my opinion, so maybe order the tangsuyuk cause you a real one. Really good Korean food. The menu selection is limited but the portions are huge for a pretty low price. I ordered the black bean noodles and they were great. The sauce was thick and there was plenty of noodles. You can even grab a pickled side dish. My Korean friend says this place is authentic! I'm going to come back to try the huge noodle bowls and fried pork dishes. Located in the new Asiana market and the Tous les Jours bakery, this entire plaza is turning out to be a really good place for Korean centric foodies. A friend of mine took me here. He knows I like spicy but I like to try new things. We tried #7 and #8 Portions were good! Food was prepped well. Mine was a mound of noodles with pork and squid and veggies. Brown sauce was a little sweet. Over all a great stir fry. It will fill you up. The other dish we got was deep fried pork in a sweet sauce. It has a few veggies and few mushrooms. Overall it was cooked well. Not as oily as the usual sweet and sour pork. The breading is unusual. But it was good. I liked it. There is also an authentic Korean bread and pastry shop just inside. I highly recommend you try that as well. We tried five or six different pastries and they were all awesome. The breads are not as sweet as you would expect from a regular bakery or donut shop. The breads were just slightly sweet and were just awesome. This place was very affordable. Two dinners for under $20 and we had our drinks from another place with us. No one complained. Located inside the Asiana food court. Right next to Tous Le Jours Bakery! I am excited for all the brand new places that are popping up here :D The day I went, they only had their noodles available, but I heard that their wings are delicious as well. Located in the back end of the left wing of Asiana Market is Paik's Noodle. Service and seating is food court style. Once you place your order, you wait for your number to be called on the intercom and TV. In the right hand corner of Paik's Noodle is a self service section where you are able to help yourself to condiments such as soy sauce, pickled radishes, etc. Utensils are also found here. The main dish to get here is the jajangmyeon. jajangmyeon consists of chewy noodles topped with a starch thickened sauce of fried black bean paste and bits of cabbage and pork. Everything is topped with fresh shredded cucumbers. Another dish that I often get is the tangsuyuk. tangsuyuk is the Korean equivalent of sweet and sour pork. For those who don't like it when the pork gets soggy, I recommend getting the sauce on the side. The sauce is sweet and slightly tangy, like that of an apple. There are shreds of onion, carrot, bits of black wood ear, and sliced cumber. The pork is fried in starch which results in a lighter tasting batter. Paik's noodle is a bit on the pricy side for me. For the jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk combo, it cost a bit over $20. For two people (two orders of jajangmyeon and one order of tangsuyuk) it came out to around $30. The portions of the jajangmyeon can justify the cost. If you have a small apetite and a friend, I recommend splitting an order. If the richness makes it difficult to finish, the yellow pickled radishes help a lot. I feel like a bit more pork would have been nice for the tangsuyuk considering how much it cost. It would also be nice if they did half orders. I have yet to try their jjangppong. Maybe next time. All in all, if you're looking for some authentic Korean-Chinese food in the valley, Paik's Noodle is the only sensible option at the moment. Until another place opens up, Paik's will be the place to go. read more

There's nothing quite like a meal of jajaingmyeon and a Korean drama session with the little sister Super excited when I saw that this opened in AZ! KBBQ, jajaingmyeon, another Korean shop, Asiana, boba tree... this plaza is getting so LIT. I came on their soft opening so, not all the menu items are ready yet, but they had my jajaingmyeon (Black bean noodles with shredded pork) and Tangsuyuk (Pork strips deep fried with a rice flour batter + a sweet sauce) I'm happy to say it's the same taste I've been eating back in CA. Paik's Noodle is not a 3-star establishment, but its not 4 stars either. It's like a 3.75. This is mostly because the taste lacks consistency. Sometimes the food is good, but most of the time is just meh. For the price, Paik's Noodle is very inexpensive; also, you don't have to leave a tip here. The last time we came here, they expanded to serve their entire menu, which is nice. Here are the dishes we've tried: - Jjampong: A great deal, with a generous portion of seafood. The noodles have a good degree of spiciness with a nice flavor. The soup is also good. - Jjajangmyeon: Tastes reminiscent of yakisoba. Not much meat, which is a little disappointing. When we go grocery shopping at Asiana, we always have to stop in the food court for some food, regardless if we are hungry or not. I love that we have a Korean food court in Arizona. Yum!! I came here the other weekend when I was exploring the new Asiana, and was very pleasantly surprised! They only had options #1, 5, and 8 available at the time, so we tried #1 and 5... #1 is a spicy kimchi style stew, with lots of octopus, mussels, and other seafood! It was a huge portion, and the spice definitely grew over time. #5 is a black bean noodle dish with pork. It has quite a mild flavor, which I really liked in comparison with the spicy stew. Personally, I preferred #1, but I love soups so I was biased towards that option from the start. My friend LOVED #5 tho -he actually went back the next day to eat it again for lunch! Found this spot with my mom after leaving the nearby hospital. I'm so glad we walked in! I had the spicy jjamppong and my mom had the jjangmyun. We split the gunmandu. The portions are huge! They gave us 2 small bowls and we shared the dishes. It was spicy but perfect and they didn't skimp on the noodles or seafood. I didn't think I could finish it but I did. Great jajangmyeon but there is too much onion and I only like a portion of onion. The noodles are handmade but technically the dough that is put into a noodle machine. The price is cheap $7.99 for the bowl. The noodles are glossy, soft, and chewy. Before eating here, I've heard mixed reviews about this place. People either like it or they don't. When our friends from Cali came we decided to try this place out. We ordered jjang myeun and the sweet and sour pork. I thought the noodles tasted good and enjoyed my meal. The sweet and sour pork was alright and they ran out of the soup ( jjambong -spicy seafood soup) which was a bit of a disappointment. The only place where I can get jajambap. Portions here are usually good for an affordable price. I usually get the jajamyeon with tangsuyuk (deep fried pork with sweet and sour sauce) and it's good to share with 2 people. I heard that they changed chefs again so it's getting better. I heard Paik's noodles was opened and I had to go try it. Before I go into the food two things you need to know before you go. They do not have carry out and they do not have drinks. They do have water off to the side in small cups so you at least have something. I would have rates this higher if they had both options. With take out I would be able to go more often since I could grab and go. The food - I ordered a bowl of Jajangmyeon. I first had this dish in S. Korea and it tasted the same. I really enjoyed it. My one complaint is that it needs more pork. Not a ton more just a little more. There was only a couple very tiny pieces. I kind of felt like why put it in the dish if you are going to give that much. It's not a deal breaker though because I still liked the dish. The serving size was perfect. It was enough to fill you but not put you in a food coma when you get back to work. Be warned the place was packed during lunch so give yourself extra time. Their menu was super hard to see, small font and the screens they use distorts the images and words, I suggest they make a menu at the counter so it's easier for customers. We got the jajangmyun (black bean sauce noodles) to share among two and it was the perfect amount. You'll need to mix the sauce in well with the noodles because the noodles are pretty bland without mixing well. Not a lot of meat, but lots of noodles and only $7.99. read more

There used to be a place in chandler that had amazing jjajangmyeon, but they closed down over a year ago and I've been missing it ever since. I've been eyeing this place since before my old spot closed, but was hesitant to try something new. I finally did today and got it delivered through DoorDash. They packaged it nicely, and it was still warm when it got to me in Tempe. I ordered the jjajangbap, which is perfectly formed half circle of white rice blanketed with a jeon (egg pancake/omelette) that had shrimp and spring onion in it, and then topped with the jjajang sauce, and it was AMAZING. Their black bean sauce is so delicious, the chunks of pork are seasoned perfectly and not overly chewy, the rice was fluffy and sticky, and the egg was cooked to perfection. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was so excited to eat it and after that first bite, I couldn't stop! read more

I went in during my lunch craving authentic korean dishes. I ended up ordering the jjampong, which is a seafood noodle soup with clams, nakji, and pork. It was amazing. The broth was so delicious. It was just the right amount of spicy- nose runny spicy. If it weren't 110 degrees out I'd eat this all the time. I will be back to try their tonkatsu and other dish items. Tried this place inside of the Asiana Market not too long ago and was relatively impressed. I have never had that type of Korean food, but it was enjoyable. Downside was that when I was there they were only offering 3 of the more than 12 menu items they have. We were meeting our family there and it was about 30 minutes before they were closing. Our family had already gotten food for themselves but when we went to order they said they had stopped serving food. Once we explained our situation they said they could make two of the dishes for us. The noodles were a good texture but the broth could have been spicier in my opinion. This restaurant has amazing food! I went there for my first time as my best friend suggested it and ordered a #5 while she ordered a #1. The staff were very friendly and patient (as I am very indecisive and inquisitive).
