Food is amazing. This is my go-to spot for fish trays and Chongqing chicken (highly recommended). I usually get the fish fillets, but they also offer the whole fish style. There are also add-ons for the fish tray. We usually get beef, fried potatoes, and noodles, and depending on how many people we go with, we might add more. There are about 5-6 different flavors to choose from and different spice levels as well. We usually get mild with their house special flavor. It is so good!! Service can be a little tricky. The couple who usually works there are really good, but once in a while I see some subs helping out, and they can be slower and require a little more patience. Still, it definitely doesn't stop us from coming back for more fish and chicken. I would highly recommend coming here with friends and family. The portions are decent, the price is great, and it usually costs about $20-30 per person to get completely stuffed. read more

The food is acceptable, the service not so much. We came on a Sunday evening and were seated quickly. Food: (3/5) Pig intestines: (4/5) The spicy pig intestines had lots of spicy flavor and oil. They had a slight crisp and were pretty chewy and fatty. It also came with celery, jalapenos and onions. Portions were ok. Fish: (2.5/5) The fish was served in a large tray with bean sprouts and lotus root. It was a very chewy on the outside because of the fried edges and also chewy on the inside (for fish). The fish was also pretty dry despite being in sauce. It didn't really have a distinct flavor, and I'm thinking it was previously frozen. Served on a large metal tray with a gel flame underneath. Bok choy and mushrooms: (2.5/5) These were flavorless and tasted mostly like the vegetable. Lacked any real texture. Service: (1/5) Our server seated us and never looked back. We had to ask for water refills, rice refills, and the bill. Ambiance: (3/5) Standard Chinese restaurant with minimal decor. Bathrooms mostly clean. Overall a mediocre dining experience. Prices ok, Free WiFi included. read more

Quaint mom and pop style restaurant with serious cooking! In a surprising sea of szechuan restaurants, was refreshing to have this restaurant showcase hunan cuisine. Hunan spicy pork had a nice kick and really good black bean flavor. I could eat this every day! Beef rolls are as good as I would find in SGV. Surprised to find good version of this in Phoenix. Def will get again. Braised pork belly is the star of this review. Idk a better place to get this classic dish on Phoenix but they have it here and execution is on point. Succulent and tender from the layers of fat to the meat with the iconic rich and red braising sauce. Excellent! This place deserves more business for sure read more

The owner changed recently and we like to get the fish hot pot here. It's nice because the fish fillets are boneless so it takes less work to eat! We also like their spicy chicken (chongqing chicken) here. It is super crispy and flavorful with a hint of spice. Would recommend coming with at least 3-4 people if you order the fish hot pot, or you will have a good amount of left over! read more

This restaurant has amazing food and really nice staff! We ordered crab cream cheese wagoons, spicy crispy chicken, chicken fried rice, and orange chicken!! All of it was bomb!! They were quick and food came out hot! Tang Garden is definitely my go to for Chinese for now on! 10/10 read more

I tried this place for the first time last night 08/15/25 and it was delicious. I ordered my food right before they closed at 11:45pm and the staff were so kind and attentive. Apparently, the crawfish noodles aren't an actual menu item but I saw them on Yelp and had to try them. The inside of the restaurant is a little warm, but what place isn't this time of year? The food came out hot and ready to go. The flavors were great, I'm just a little picky when it comes to using jarred minced garlic. I hate that stuff and it's used in abundance here. Still, that's a me thing and now I know better for my next order. The dish also wasn't as spicy as I was expecting. More sweet than anything. Still, it was unique and I loved it. The house chow mein has incredible flavor, but next time I will probably just do the beef since that's the protein that really brought out the taste. The shrimp is very bland and laughably small, but it didn't take anything away from the meal. All in all, I'm really looking forward to my next visit because I know exactly what I'm going to order next time. read more

I ordered the sesame chicken rice bowl, as pictured, and my husband ordered the sweet and sour chicken rice bowl. (We ordered to go). There were a lot of chewy pieces in my sesame chicken. The rice was perfect! The flavor of the chicken was amazing, they definitely have that. The staff was friendly and the restaurant looked nice. I may give this restaurant a second chance, I may have just gone too late (10pm) or on an off day. read more

The food is incredible. Very authentic flavors. Our favorites were the egg drop soup, mapo tofu, preserved duck egg and tofu, beef chow mein, and beef platter. Harmony Kitchen is my favorite restaurant in all of Arizona. The owners are very nice. The hotpot here is my all time favorite. :)

Just making a note for my self to not stop by again , food was average I'd rather go to panda express- I'm just very disappointed. Won't be back. The white rice was delicious, everything else was mid tier not very good did not finish my meal , did not take it go , just cut my losses- I'm just very disappointed I rate three stars beacuse nice people, clean restaurant and fast service read more

How had I not dined at Tang Garden before? This is the best Chinese restaurant I've found in the Valley so far. The owners are from Hunan Province (YASS!) and the dishes reflect the spicy nature of the region. From the Chongqing Spicy Chicken (重庆辣子鸡) to the spicy green beans (干煸四季豆）everything was heavenly. For starters, the steamed pork dumplings (always order steamed when you have the choice over fried) and the scallion pancakes were also legit. There is so much more on the menu that I have yet to try which means that I will be back! All of the other diners in the restaurant were Chinese, which says something about the authenticity of the menu (hey, I lived in China for a long time, too!). The owners were friendly and there is great energy in the restaurant. Don't be shy to ask for recommendations. They do sell bottled beers, including Tsingtao from China and Sapporo from Japan (didn't spy any baijiu though). In addition to the outstanding food, they have several KTV rooms. The rooms are available for rent by the hour. And yes, you can order their food while you sing your heart out. The song selections are available in both English and Chinese. What a great idea for a company teambuilding event or a celebration like a birthday. All in all, Tang Garden is the real deal. Outstanding service, wonderful dishes, fair prices, and a relaxed environment that does get busy at dinnertime despite all the takeaway orders. I'm in love! read more

Tempe has been in flux for a lot longer than the pandemic. Rising rents, changing migration patterns, and frenetic bursts of development have fundamentally transformed it from an ASU student dive to a dining hotspot brimming with swagger. Sure, you can still hit Mill Ave and get some cheap eats, but now the area is packed with places offering some of the Valley's finest menus. Far from the tourist circuit of Old Town Scottsdale, Tempe's restaurants reflect the full spectrum of Arizona's diverse and contemporary Chinese community. That means menus catering to regional cuisines from across the mainland and throughout the greater Chinese diaspora, and new shops with a close eye on food trends half a world away. I only learned of Tang Garden when I passed by. I popped in, asked for a menu, had a brief chat with the LǎoBǎnNiáng and decided that I would return to try it. Boy, am I glad that I did! At Tang Garden you will discover authentic Chinese dishes bursting with flavor. If you're concept of "Chinese food" is Panda Express, please come to Tang Garden and experience the real deal. The Chongqing Spicy Chicken is a must if can handle the (dry) heat. The Garlic Broccoli not only tastes great but feels healthy. The steamed pork dumplings are also as good as we eat them in Beijing. Tang Garden has a large selection of Chinese and Japanese beers, including TsingTao (not having had Chinese beer in a while, it went straight to my head!). A large number of KTV rooms are available for rent and food can be served in the rooms, which makes it a great place for a celebration like a birthday. The owners are friendly and easygoing. Bottom line: one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Valley! read more

Recommended: yes! I recommend the fish trays. I recommend getting the flounder filets. Price: great price Food: delicious. If you love spicy food, this is also a plus. If you have never had something like this, you should definitely jump out of your comfort zone and try this. They have non-spicy fish tray as well, but the spicy ones has great flavor. It's one of kind here in Arizona. I don't think they have this anywhere else. Details: I usually go in about a total of 4 people and share the fish tray because it is a big portion. Then we'll add toppings like the potato noodles, a choice of meat (we usually get beef or lamb), we also add on soft tofu and mushrooms. We also pick a choice of vegetables too. It's all up to you. You pick what you like to add on. Even though it is additional price for add-ons, but if your feeding a group of 4, you get to add on variety of toppings/ingredients to share. The totally for everything usually is still a decent price with a full belly. Splitting into four people is about $20-$25 a person. Our bill was around $80 for everything. Definitely recommend this place. Support the local. I remember this place had a bigger front of the house area but probably due to Covid they had to size down into one section/building. I would love to see this business grow especially its one of a kind here in Arizona. read more

Harmony Kitchen - Flounder fish tray. Tang special sauce. Mild. - Chinese Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

I've had quite an enjoyable experience at this restaurant, having tried many of their dishes, most of which are both authentic and delicious. While there's room for improvement in certain dishes like the Chicken Giblet with Pickled Chili (not the flavor I expected at all), there are clear standouts. I highly recommend the Grilled Fish without the side dish; although I'm surprised by the high cost of the side dish. The Hunan-style dishes are a personal favorite, and I'm confident the owner hails from that region given the authentic flavors. Special shoutouts go to the Mashed Eggplant & Preserved Duck Egg and Cured Pork & Bamboo Shoot are delicious, but a bit salty. The Bone-in Chicken with Hot Chili is my favorite! read more

Got this to go and didn't like a lot of the items I got . The meats tasted like they've been recooked multiple times and that makes the texture of the chicken and intestine like jerky. My rating would've been a 5 Star if the service wasn't so bad. All the food was delicious and steaming hot but i got only my fried rice after 45mins and my ma-po tofu 15 mins later. I waited another 15 mins until I finally got up and asked for my chow mein to go because I had no idea how much longer I'd have to wait for it and I'd already filled up on the other dishes. My waitress comes back about 10 mins later with my chow mein and bill and I got the rest of my food to go as well. I'm really not ever picky about service in a restaurant unless the waiter is being disrespectful or rude but it was really irritating to wait that long for every single dish especially when you see tables that came in after you with bigger orders and get their food before you. They did comp my bill 10% which was nice but I really shouldn't have been in there for an hour and a half. read more

I really liked this place alot, I give it more like 4.5 stars. Parking: Large private lot next to Junn Sushi restaurant. Very easy to find and easy parking. Food: Probably the most authentic Chinese restaurant I have had in Phoenix so far. If you are craving some good Chinese food, this is a great place to start. Not only do they have authentic Chinese food, they also have the usual "American Chinese" food dishes as well. Although this place is known for their hot pots, we did not try the hot pots and will next time. If you are wanting some authentic Chinese food, consider this restaurant and the service is decent as well. read more

If you want delicious, authentic Chinese food, this is the place to go! This will have to be one my favorite Chinese Szechuan restaurants! Their fish is so good. We got the flounder hot pot with the tang's garlic sauce flavor! I highly recommend getting the garlic sauce flavor if you don't like spicy! We also got the yang chow fried rice, green onion pancake appetizer, and the garlic eggplant. Everything was so delicious and not that spicy. Some of their dishes are salty and very oily but it's still really delicious. Highly recommend coming here to give it a try and if you're craving something authentic! read more

No one was up front ready to greet customers. Took a little bit of time to actually have someone take our order. The restaurant had a strange smell when walking in. There was boba milk tea on the menu but as server stated they didn't have boba... they don't even sell it there..... lol? The menu was so sooo confusing to read and it was overpriced. Then my dinner date asks if they have wonton chips.... server could not understand what that was after trying to explain it 5 times. My dinner date asks for Dr. Pepper but waiter bring Diet Coke... lmao. Then my dinner date gets his $11 chicken and broccoli plate and there's barely any chicken. My plate was good, there was a good amount of shrimp and chow mein noodles. Their iced Black tea with milk was delicious but that's all. Lol and my receipt wasn't in English and no fortune cookies :( read more

Tang is my top ranking Chinese food go to. I am highly allergic to sesame and ginger. So, You can imagine how challenging it is for me to try Chinese cuisine. A dead cricket found in our guest's drink cup, all the owner did was a casual said sorry and took the cup away. We ate there 3 times within a week. Although we give the food 5 star ratting. But the reaction of the owner regarding their hygiene was so shockingly calm , make me think this is not the first time they find a dead bug in their drinks or food. I love their food but will never step in there again. read more

LEGIT AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD! If you're like me and not a fan of Americanized Chinese food (e.g., Panda Express, and P.F. Changs) you should give this place a try. It will introduce you to the wider world of flavors available in authentic Chinese dishes. Another customer in the restaurant told me she loved this place because it delivers the flavors she experienced while living in Wuhan, China for 2 years. I search far and wide to find authentic Chinese food like this. My 5 star rating is purely for the food and value because they deliver on both those fronts. This isn't a place making it's name on decor, ambiance, and service. This is straight-up well prepared food at a reasonable price. I highly recommend eating at the restaurant rather than getting carry out or delivery because many of these dishes taste best piping fresh out of the kitchen. Even 5 minutes steaming in a takeout container can diminish and blunt the flavors. I highly recommend ordering the Grilled Lamb Rib entree. The ribs are tender and bursting with flavor that covers a wide range of your palette. I had it a couple days ago and the memories are still lingering in my mind. Ask the owner for her recommendations. She'll lead you down the right paths. read more

Definitely very authentic Chinese restaurant. There is a terrific array of vegetarian offerings, but make sure to always ask (the Mo Po Tofu has ground beef).
