This is the first place I ate in Tempe, and it was excellent. Popped off the Mars bus by my Airbnb and this place greeted me. The staff inside was exceptionally friendly and the food was excellent. The cilantro perfectly matched the spice of the stewed beef noodles. 5/5 would go back!

The food is always consistent, hot and fresh. The staff is always very accommodating and friendly. We live about 20 miles away and still make it out monthly go to place for Chinese food

I had read good reviews about this place; otherwise, I would have walked out before ordering. It is very dingy and did not seem very clean to me. Instead of a printed menu, the server brought a single tablet to the table, so my friend used the tablet and I had to look at the menu on my phone. I am fairly good with technology, but I found it very confusing to use the menu tablet to place the order; in fact, I kept touching the screen only to have the English turn into Chinese. My friend and I felt that the tablet seemed particularly unclean and unsanitary. We ordered pork egg rolls, chicken egg rolls, and beef and broccoli with fried rice. The fried rice came out first in a bowl overturned onto a small plate, with two small plates for us to put the rice on. We had been given forks and chop sticks, and we had to request a spoon in order to get the rice onto our plates and not all over the table. My friend's chop stick was splintered (see photo) and unusable; I picked up my set of chop sticks and immediately got a splinter in my thumb. The beef and broccoli was better than most I've had and resulted in my giving this restaurant 2 stars instead of 1. The fried rice had no vegetables or meat in it and was quite bland. The egg rolls were brought out several minutes after the beef dish, which makes no sense for an appetizer. The rolls were too hot to eat immediately, and the wrappers were extremely hard; I don't think they were good enough to order if I were to return (which I will definitely not). There is a surcharge for using a credit card; I was actually considering leaving no tip, but the payment device included an 18% tip by default, and I have never failed to tip and relented. I would definitely not return or recommend this restaurant.

I am a regular at this place, I usually come in one to three times a week. I did not have a chance to get in this week, but this place is amazing. I usually order the spicy beef soup and it is always amazing. I highly recommend this place. I come in so often that they don't even ask what I would like they just know. These are good people and they can be very personable. I love this place. I highly recommend it. They are very attentive, and the atmosphere of the restaurant fits perfect. I can't get enough of this place! I don't think I'll ever get tired of the beef soup.

Very good Chinese! I ordered takeout on a whim last night and my husband and I were quite impressed. It might be my favorite Chinese I've had so far in the Tempe area. We ordered Dan Dan noodles, shrimp with broccoli and sweet and sour chicken. All of them were enjoyable. I was impressed by the quality of the chicken; usually in those fried dishes with sauce, places skimp on the quality but this was great quality with a good sauce. Would try more! The Dan Dan noodles were so satisfyingly spicy from the Szechuan sauce-- so tingly! Also the texture of the noodles were great; sort of thin and stretchy. The shrimp with broccoli also came with some other veggies in a white sauce. I was only familiar with the soy sauce based dishes but the white sauce was quite good! I did pick up and saw the vibe was a humble little place. I'd absolutely order from here again.

This a solid Szechwan restaurant and it almost top my favorite one. Their food was so good and I enjoyed the braised pork belly! I don't recall the name but the other dish was also delicious and had a good spice. Seems like this is a family owned restaurant and a lot of Chinese locals come here. I was too shy to speak Chinese but they were all very friendly. It is nice inside and the food comes out quick. I would love to try their Dan Dan noodles next time !

I will definitely be back! Me and the gang were craving spicy Asian food and we were not disappointed. This unassuming place had delicious flavors, spice, and service. The beef rice noodle soup was incredible! The Szechwan cold noodle was a huge hit. The potstickers were alright, but the chili sauce was good. We liked the Szechwan beef and Dan Dan noodles- very flavorful! The heroes were definitely the noodle soup and the cold noodles. We love the way the Szechwan pepper numbs your tongue. The staff were lovely and polite. Definitely recommend this hole in the wall experience.

Simple nice small restaurant close to University. Service excellent. We order spicy steam pot (with regular their standard spicy, amazing flavor if you love spicy food. It's spicy but at the same time you want more and can't stop. We only order this one, and we very satisfied and happy. After we cool down the spicy with ice powder jelly.

It took at least 30 min for our food to trickle out of the kitchen. It took another 30 minutes after we ate to get our bills paid. We were running out of things to talk about it took so long! The food wasn't great, there's hardly a vegetable in anything! we all ordered fried rice but it looked nothing like fried rice on our combo plates, not a single veggie or shred of egg in it. Those that had plain rice said it was better. We asked for chili crisp, she gave us a container of chili oil and a container with crushed red pepper, yet they had jars of chili crisp for sale. The server really was a gem, but the food and wait times were NOT. Nope, not for me.

Main dish came out quick but the dumpling took longer than expected. We were done with the beef dish when the dumpling came out. The beef dish was pretty darn good. To my surprise when I got home and opened my food and it was not beef and broccoli. I immediately returned to the restaurant and the lady who helped me previously helped me again. She was super apologetic about what happened and it was so not a problem at all. They quickly fixed my food and when I got home...omg!! This was some of the best beef with broccoli I have had in a long time. The brown sauce is light with a hint of spice and not super salty. However, I'm on a kick right now to try places that I may have overlooked as I've been seeking out the new, shiny restaurants we have in the valley. Shaanxi Garden is just that, right there in plain sight on the corner, it's been around for years. With a renewed focus on the landscape I think I will keep trying places that aren't new by any means, but are new to me. For our visit, it was about 8pm on a Wednesday evening. Definitely not popping, only a couple other tables were full. However the server was quick to greet us and get us started, and I liked ordering from my phone & a QR code, and thus being able to see the photos and descriptions of dishes. This helped us in making a great decision on what to try. And when we were finished, we "checked out" online where we placed the order and our server came over with the bill and boxes. All very smooth. I knew this place was known for its wide, thick Biang Biang noodles so we ordered the vegetarian version (tomato & egg, chili oil noodles) and an entree of the fragrant stir fried lamb. Tasty dishes! I liked the texture of the very long noodles-- good chew & bite, reminded me a bit of having lasagna noodles. Flavors were great, veggies tasted fresh, and everything came out hot & fast. We definitely couldn't finish everything so we had some leftovers for lunch another day. This was all about $34 before tip. That's a deal right now in the current food landscape! Lower price didn't taste like lower quality. It was all very good. Definitely would like to come back and try other items. The menu is pretty extensive, normally I don't like too many options but their ordering system makes it a bit easier to navigate.
