Came here during a quick trip to Arizona and I was blown away. The service was great and our waiter was attentive and very welcoming. The food was amazing as well. Ordered the chile chorizo omelet, the biscuits with gravy, and the waffle. To drink we had coffee and the seasonal juice (kale, apple, other fruits). The savory dishes were really good, but the star of the show as definitely the waffle. It was soft with just the right amount of crisp and came with a great berry compote. We had another breakfast/brunch spot during this trip to Arizona, but First Watch easily stood out as being the superior breakfast spot that we tried. We liked it so much we took two juices to go. Overall, if we are ever back in the Tempe area, we will definitely be coming here again. read more

This is honestly one of my new favorite brunch places in Tempe/Scottsdale! The food is really great! I've tried the carrot cake pancake, avocado toast (my fav), smoked salmon frittata and the egg scrambles (my favorite). The servers are also very friendly and attentive. When I pulled in there wasn't much parking, so I had to drive around to the back and found a few spaces. Upon entry I was greeted right away and shown to a table/booth in the corner by a window. The waitress greeted me within 7 minutes of me being seated. I ordered a water. When the glass came I held it up to the light from the window and found the glass was dirty I asked for a new one, and when a new one came out it was dirty full of smudges around the lip. As I was wiping it down with the napkin the waitress came up to me and said that she could get me a plastic cup which I obliged. The food was all right The silverware needs to be wiped or polished before being presented to customers. The tables are nasty I can include pictures. There's a couple of wait staff that speak very loud about their personal relationships right behind some tables where a bunch of pans and skillets are hanging. They were speaking kind of loud and customers could overhear that. I was slightly disgusted. Overall quality of coming in it was well lit. The vents hanging above where the tables are at by the window s could be dusted because there's a bunch of dust hanging up there when the air turns on the dust comes down into people's food. Came in around 9:30 AM and the place wasn't busy! The parking lot however, had nowhere to park so we had to park in another business and walk over. We were served a big pitcher of water for the table and unfortunately didn't get it refilled, although we may have overstayed (as we were visiting with friends for ~2 hours). I felt I had to ration the water in my glass. The waiter did not seem very happy to be serving us, I'm not sure if he was having an "off day" or it's just his personality, but I didn't get the best vibes. He only checked on us once, which is fine, I just wish he would've noticed our lack of water. My bowl was good. However, it felt like there was NO barbacoa. They must've ran out just before making my bowl, and instead of making more, they dumped the beef juices and broth onto my plate and scraped what little beef was left onto my plate. Genuinely was so disappointed in the lack of meat. Now that I'm thinking back to it, I definitely should've said something. I even asked, when they served it, "this is the barbacoa right?" Cause I was searching everywhere for the protein. They also gave us a receipt that you have to scan with your phone to pay. But this location was very disappointing from the parking lot is extremely small and there is no street parking so I literally had to sit outside 15 minutes away for somebody to come out and leave before I got a parking spot. The service here was terrible. We were constantly looking for our server. Our server changed three times within a 45 minute period and the order was wrong twice it had to be sent back. My friend and I recently stopped in to grab some brunch and to catch up. It was super packed when we got here, but the staff were super nice and accompanied us when it was our time. The ambience of the restaurant was really cute, we loved the vibe. To start off I got the million dollar potatoes and they were fantastic. I love the bacon and sour cream they added, as well as the seasoning on the potatoes themselves. They were super crunchy on the outside mushy on the inside and tasted perfect. For my main meal I got the pesto chicken power bowl. I like the chicken and pesto, along with the quinoa. This meal was super light and was still big enough for some leftovers. Menu looked delicious so we walked over from our hotel. It was a nice day so we asked to be sat outside. There were at least two more groups sitting out there. We waited 15 min with no server coming over. I went to the hostess stand to request a server. Another 5 minutes until she finally arrived. She was nice enough but no apology from any of the staff, and that was off putting. The food was a solid 4/5. I had the BEC and my friend had an egg scramble with avocado and cornbread. The million dollar potatoes was definitely the best dish I had. The blackberry sangria was pretty watered down. Overall an okay experience, just wasn't happy with the first impression. Brunch with besties! Okay not really, but that just sounded really catchy. We had a girls brunch here as a party of 6 and had a wonderful experience. It was the first time for all of us! Surprisingly, we didn't have much of a wait for being a bustling Saturday morning. We started off with mimosas and a pitcher of sangria. The sangria itself was not very good & had more of a dry bitter taste. I've had really good sangria, and I just couldn't finish my glass. The mimosas however were great, I mean you really can't go wrong with those. Our server was amazing! She was kind, attentive and patient with our crazy group. Most of all us seemed to enjoy our meals. I opted for the "bacado omelette" which is just your basic omelette topped with bacon, avocado & cheese. First Watch is one of my favorite places to get breakfast. I have been coming to the location near ASU for about four years now, and they have consistently done a great job every time. Although there was one instance where they accidentally burned my order and had to remake it, they made it right by remaking it and providing it to me free of charge. Even the best places have off days, so I understood that, and they have not let me down. While I have had many of the items on their menu, the item I have had the most of is the breakfast tacos. The breakfast tacos never miss. Even though they removed the regular breakfast tacos from the menu, you can still order them, which is a delightful bonus. I know many of the workers there by name, and they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They are always attentive and make sure everything is going well. Whenever you need anything extra, they are more than happy to help. One of the workers is named Isaac, and he is one of the most genuinely nice guys I have ever met. Every staff member is committed to ensuring that guests have a great experience in their restaurant. Whenever I pay up, I make sure to leave them a handsome tip. The atmosphere is also pleasant. Perfect for unwinding as you prepare for the second half of your day ahead after your lunch break concludes. While I typically frequent other First Watch locations, my wife and I stopped here this morning on the way to an event at ASU. This was our second time visiting this location. First Watch serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch. They have a Jump Start menu with unique dishes along with a juice bar, iced coffee, breakfast cocktails, healthier side dishes, EGG-sclusives, omelettes & frittatas, from the griddle items, power bowls, salads, sandwiches, a kids' menu, and small plates and sides. My wife and I chose to each get one of the two classic favorites on the menu. My wife ordered the Traditional, which includes two cage-free eggs any style with your choice of bacon, smoked ham, chicken sausage patties, turkey or pork sausage links, and it is served with whole grain artisan toast, all-natural house preserves and fresh, seasoned potatoes. I chose to order the Tri-Fecta, which includes two fresh cage-free eggs any style with either a light and airy Belgian waffle or a multigrain pancake plus your choice of bacon, chicken sausage patty, turkey or pork sausage link. We both ordered our meals with fruit instead of meat. The pancake was large and a bit overly toasted. For me, it wasn't soft enough to enjoy as much as usual, though my wife enjoyed it prepared the way they did it today. The potatoes were tasty, and the fruit, toast, and eggs complemented the meal for both of us. As there was a 20-30 minute wait today, we used the app and checked in online in advance. This allowed us to jump to the front of the line. The service was good and food arrived rather quickly with everything correct on our orders. I came on a very busy Sunday morning but I've been told the hour long wait I experienced is pretty normal if you arrive after 11am. The location is a tad far from the center of the ASU and all the bars but that also provides ample parking. We got the lemon ricotta pancakes, chikichanga, and the morning meditation juice. There is an extensive menu and anyone looking for breakfast should be able to find what they want. If you order coffee, they bring you a pot and leave it on the table. I like that concept. You don't need to wait for a refill and it keep the server efficient with not having to constantly get people coffee refills. The first day I went it, I ended up getting a bogo entree card, so guess where I ended up eating the next morning? First Watch it is! Maybe I'm boring, but I got the same exact thing. Farmhouse Hash. The general area is a bit sketchy and we were surprised by the difference a few blocks can make. Although some things were good, overall it didn't meet the standard that I'm accustomed to. I always order the Purple Haze when I visit a First Watch location. This was the first location to mess the drink up. The taste wasn't popping and the color wasn't as vibrant as the many other ones I've had. This was my first time trying the ham and cheese omelette and it was pretty decent. I called this location to ask about a reservation of 10 people and was told to book on the app. I was driving and couldn't download the app. When I told the little twit she said she would talk to her manager and then hung up on me. I called back, talked to someone else he said he would put my name in. When I got there my name was not added to the wait list. Our group did get seated quickly. Our server was ok. He could have come back to check on us more. He took our order, runners brought the food and we didn't see our server until he brought our checks. These college kids need a major lesson on customer service. Our society is in major trouble of this is the type of service they provide. read more
