Every time I've come here for dim sum it has been a very pleasant experience. This time I tried new things that I hadn't tried before. All of my pictures show the wonderful foods that we tried this time. I do not remember all of the names, but there was a custard tart, pork shu mai, scallion, pancakes, a turnip pastry, two types of pork buns, some delicious noodles and so much more. It was very cool to of course have the carts come by and you could see everything and pick what you wanted. It's such an authentic experience. The ambience is definitely a unique experience in the best way possible. Everyone is also so nice and the food is excellent. It's also perfect for sharing with multiple people.
Came here on a Friday morning 3 day weekend and was fairly excited because I haven't been here in a while. I thought it might be good because there was a line of people waiting to get in. We ended up ordering the usual suspects Sticky rice Shu Mai BBQ Pork Buns Spare Pork Ribs Chicken Feet The food was not spectacular and the bbq buns tasted like they were pre frozen. It wasn't soft at all and I became pretty disappointed. We also did not see the fried turnip cake until we ordered it from our server. She was the saving grace as she was very nice and polite and attentive. When ever we asked for something we got it right away. Also the cart ladies are much nicer as well than the other dim sum place. The food was comparable with the other place as well. The place is large and mostly clean. It does get an oily smell as they are frying things in the open and you can see it. I do like they have fish tanks for the kids to look at the fresh fish and lobster. One thing to note is that it does seem a bit more expensive than the other dim sum place as well. It's hard to choose which dim sum place we should go to moving forward.

Inspired by kids board book" Dim Sum for everyone", aunties" & family favorite , & recommendation from martial arts teacher friend . It did not disappoint with experienced help ordering many favorite dishes , shrimp , pork buns , turnip cakes , & so much more. The restaurant is run like clockwork with carts circling the huge room like a ballroom ( not politically correct?) . My son said he can't imagine the challenge of dish washing let alone preparing so much food! We arrived early Sunday am & was filling up quickly . The mall itself bust too like a community destination! It seems the restaurant is only dim s on weekends or Sundays please check website ! Dim sum for everyone !
With a literal 'desert' of dim sum options across the Phoenix community, it is nice that this location is available. They serve all your classic dim sum favorites to the even eclectic options (Tripe, chicken feet). They still take the traditional approach of pushing carts around. The one big differentiator is the service, the team here was very attentive and ensure that our glasses were always full. The prices are reasonable for the food quality and definitely work a try. Food Quality (3/5): the food was flavorful but some of the dishes came out like warm at best. Not sure if the steamers were working in the carts. There is ample variety as well. Service (4/5): we were greeted and sat quickly. They got waters and tea to the table and the waters were always filled. They don't do a good job of clearing your table though, so be mindful that your table may get a little cluttered. Price (4/5): The prices were average for this establishment. It was just a little over 30 per person for the three of us. Atmosphere (4/5): Nice and spacious and appeared to be clean. Restrooms are outside of the restaurant, which can be tough if you're sitting at the far end of the restaurant.
My mom requested dim sum for Mother's Day so that's exactly what we got. Mekong Palace is located inside Mekong Plaza. We made a reservation for Sunday dinner and were seated right away. The restaurant is casual and laidback. They were busy that evening, it took some time before they took our orders. However, once we ordered, the items came out pretty fast. Mekong Palace has a limited dim sum menu for dinner and no carts. We ordered almost everything on the limited menu, from shumai and har gow to spare rib and chicken feet. We also ordered a few items like fish maw soup, pan fried noodles, fried rice, and more from their standard menu. The items came out one after the other and were hot and fresh. Everything was pretty tasty. The dim sum and the pan fried noodles were the group favorites. The portions were great and we even took some leftovers. We would return!
Nothing but love for Mekong Palace. This has been the place of many family dinners and weekend dim sum with friends. I'm glad to see that they're finally renovating. Whether you want a Cantonese style dinner or dim sum, you can't go wrong with Mekong Palace. The portions do seem a little smaller this past visit when we went to celebrate Lunar New Year early and my mom seems to think the main chef is different. Regardless, solid place for authentic Chinese food. And if you're not looking for authentic, they have Americanized dishes as well.
If you're looking for Asian cuisine, look no further than this amazing Oriental mall! Many food places, an area with tables to sit & eat or just visit with friends & family, & for your sweet tooth, there are tea & dessert places. Also clothes shops. The ambiance is bright & inviting. Service is very good in the shops.
I had a nice time here at Mekong Palace Dim Sum Chinese Restaurant. I came with a large group of mostly international students and was able to sample various dishes while here. Mekong Palace is a traditional Chinese restaurant that specializes in dim sum, BBQ, hot pots and other Hong Kong favorites. It is located inside Mekong Plaza, a community hub with shops and restaurants that is located in the heart of the Asian District in Mesa. Here at Mekong Palace they have both an all-day and dim sum menu. The menu is quite large. The food was already chosen for our large group and was served to us family-style. We started off with some hot tea. Food items that I got to try were Braised Tofu, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Steam BBQ Pork Buns, Peking Duck, Kung Pao Chicken and Shrimp & Pork Dumplings. Everything was really delicious. The Peking Duck was amazing and I highly recommend it. Other items that I enjoyed were the Shrimp & Pork Dumplings and the Honey Walnut Shrimp. I had to pace myself because the servers were bringing out food every 5 to 10 minutes. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here at Mekong Palace and the fresh food that they make.
The restaurant is very spacious, and the traditional dim sum carts rolling around the dining room make ordering convenient and enjoyable. Whenever I'm craving dim sum, this is my go-to spot. The food is always fresh, delicious, and offers a great variety of choices. Excellent service, great atmosphere, and consistently satisfying meals. Highly recommended!
This place at best gets 3 stars, not the worst but just plain OK. While my family isn't Cantonese or from the area that makes dim sum, I have eaten dim sum since from my mother's womb and have also had great dim sum in Hong Kong, so trust me when I give my feedback on dim sum. We came here over a holiday weekend and there was a line to get a table, that's a good sign. I have been here a few times now and each time the experience has just been so-so. Service is always lackluster and doesn't seem to be a strength of this place. We ordered some of our favorite go-tos for dim sum including shrimp balls, shrimp crepes, Phoenix feet, radish cakes, and oily rice. One of the women pushing one of the carts, recommended stuffed tofu skin and we tried that also. The only stand outs for me were the Phoenix feet and stuffed tofu skin. I really liked the stuffed tofu skin as it also have bamboo shoots and mu erh, some of my favorite Chinese vegetables. The other dishes were all kind of disappointing for me. The oily rice was probably one of the worst ones I have eaten in a long time (I can make a better one). Radish cake tasted very dry and no sauce comes with it. The shrimp crepe also was bland and not tasty. We also could not get anyone to bring us ice waters as my mom needed to take her medicine and I had to get up and ask someone. I told my mom that I rarely come here because for the price and the quality of food, just not worth it. She also agreed after having the experience with me.
Food was delicious, fresh and authentic. Service was friendly albeit a bit delayed. The big screen tv is a great addition while you're enjoying your food! The crispy seafood noodle dish is EXCELLENT!
We've been to Mekong Palace several times and it's our favorite Hong Kong diner in Arizona. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Sometimes the wait time is a bit longer, but the food is good. I love their dim sum and desserts, but the rice rolls are not good (the skin is too thick). Overall, recommended for someone who loves dim sum.
Mekong palace is in the 99 ranch food court. It can be really crowded. Their shrimp dumpling are okay. They put bamboo in it. I don't really like Bamboo in it. The meat dumpling have mushrooms. I am also not a fan of that. Can get quite noisy. Service can be slow.

I haven't been here in a while and was surprised that they remodeled. I went when they opened at 11a for the dim sum and was immediately seated. I like that they push the carts around as some places just have a menu to order from. We were able to get food quickly as they had multiple servers pushing different carts around. We ended up getting a few dishes: tripe, shumai, Chinese broccoli, bbq buns, roasted duck, roasted pork, noodles, and the rice paper shrimp rolls. All of it was really good! Sometimes it's a little hard to understand what the dishes are so I just stand up to look at what the dish is. The price was pretty good, all our dishes for a group of 4 was about $100. I'll definitely come back! Really quick service and food was good. read more

I came Sunday before 12 and the wait wasn't bad at all. Although I was promptly served, there was no explanation to how it all works so you kind of just figure it out yourself. Servers come around with carts filled with different entrees and desserts. I had no idea how to figure out pricing so it was more of a surprise for the end LOL. For a party of 7, the total with tip came out to $213.16 which is pretty good considering how much we ordered. We ordered several plates of dumplings, soup, fried rice, and duck. The duck was definitely my favorite. It was juicy, tender, and had a subtle sweet kick to it. I didn't really find it a place I'd want to go back to, but everything was still good. read more

Great authentic dim sum! We weren't sure if getting dim sum in the middle of Arizona would be a good idea or something we'd regret, and we're glad we went! Came right after opening on a Saturday with a party of 7. Got seated right away and the carts were fresh, hot and ready to serve. Got our staples: shumai, har gao, BBQ baked buns, Chinese broccoli, and shrimp rice noodle. Also tried the shark fin dumplings and egg noodle in soy sauce. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious! The egg noodle dish comes around in a giant bowl on top of the cart and is also served in a huge portion, so be ready for that! We just wanted to try it and ended up with a full n bowl still at the end of our meal. Prices were very reasonable, to our pleasant surprise. We are used to dim sum prices in Los Angeles and Denver and this was great. Service was great. Carts came around frequently and cart staff was always quick but helpful. Came back for dim sum and it bumps my opinion up to 5 stars! We were seated quickly and the carts were coming by before we even had tea. This was great as we were hungry!! Within minutes we had all our favorites -- shu mai, sticky rice, bao buns, sesame balls and more. An efficient dim sum place is such a great option when you're already hungry and they had food in my belly fast. The staff working the carts were very friendly. There's always that cart that has the tiers and glass with multiple options, and the woman with that cart was great about telling us what the different options were. Shu mai - which I've had here before as you can get it at dinner - were delicious! Loved their sticky rice. It has some really tasty mushrooms inside along with the usual sausage etc. Their sesame balls are huge and really good! And the egg tarts were the best I've had. The pastry on these is so light and flaky. They also had a milk tart version which we didn't try -- we can only eat so much!! Looking forward to coming back for more. read more

Dinner date with the BFF and we wanted Asian food. We've been to Mekong Plaza several times, but have never tried this place. Well, tonight was the night! It had the vibe and feeling of a traditional Chinese restaurant. All of our food was freshly prepared and pretty good. It was our first time there, so tried a variety of items. Our faves were the Kung Pao Shrimp, General Chicken and Green Beans. We wanted the Crispy Duck to be crispy and the skin was not. The Fried Rice was just ok. As we were sitting there we saw several plates being taken to a table that looked AMAZING. We asked what all the items were and have a plan of what we want for next visit. read more

Came here for dinner and was really pleasantly surprised with the tastiness of the food and service. It is located within Mekong, a little past the small food court. It was not busy when we came and seated right away. There's still availability for dimsum even at this time but mostly dumplings and shumai options. No carts though so you will have to order through your server for dinner. The best thing was the shumai and beef short ribs. It was clean and quick. Warning, the portions are huge so we did take home quite a bit of food. read more
Every once in a while we get a craving for Yum Cha -- which literally means "drink tea" and is commonly known as Dim Sum -- so we headed over to Mekong Palace in Mesa. The atmosphere was casual, but the service was inconsistent. Tried the har gow and the skins slipped right off, the siu mai was dense (I make a better filling at home), and the har cheung fun was just okay. My wife had the jook and said it was decent. On a positive note, they did have Bo-Lay tea, which we appreciated. Overall, the food landed below average and isn't worth a return visit. Saluti read more

Friendly staff, spacious eatery on the side of the food court. I got shrimp and mushroom Shumai. Those were great! I also got fat noodles that supposedly had beef inside, but honestly, they were just mooshy and I didn't love the oil drizzle. For three small plates my total came to almost $22 so not a great deal. And I really wanted a cup of soup, but all of their soups were priced and portioned for several people. read more
What an awful dim sum place! Not only do they have bad service, but the food is also cold and not appetizing whatsoever. We ordered the usuals and each dish tasted like leftovers or not flavorful. The servers weren't attentive and there were barely any carts pushing around. They're located inside the Mekong Supermarket plaza. Their chairs were in very bad condition and feel like they can easily break apart. Definitely NEVER coming back here!! read more
I was in town visiting family and this was our first stop after I was picked up from the airport by my sister-in-law. The dim sum here was decent but not outstanding. A few dishes like the pork shumai and pork buns were lukewarm, but flavorful. Service was friendly but a little slow, and it took a while for some of the carts to make their way around. The tripe was good and flavorful, but the noodles were pretty bland. The sticky rice we ordered was way too mushy and overcooked, that we barely even touched it. The atmosphere was clean, but we had flies floating around our food and table, which was quite annoying. Overall, an okay spot for a casual dim sum meal, but not one I'd go out of my way for. read more
Celebrated a 1 month baby party for a special little lady, Miss Gemma . This Red Egg and Ginger Partyz we had 11 dishes plus the red eggs! Fish maw soup, roasted pig, two Chinese green dishes, walnut shrimp, 5 flavored whole crab, beef fried rice, Cantonese fried chicken, beef pepper steak, & ginger onion lobster. I've been to a few other dim sum places here in the Valley, but we always come back to Mekong Palace. We've had brunch here maybe 3x since I've moved here, but we've ordered take out MANY times. We typically will order twice a year and go all out. I've always enjoyed the quality, and just cannot get over how delicious their wontons and dumplings are. We ordered take out yesterday for lunch as our end of year meal before family comes in. It consisted of the delicious following: -chicken feet -spare ribs -shu mai -crystal shrimp -pan friend shrimp and leaks -pan fried crispy noodles with seafood -coconut cream buns -roasted duck We also sometime will get their wonton soup, which is so satisfying and rich! I've never met a dumpling here that I did not like, and I will probably continue ordering from here. If you do come here, be mindful that it gets VERY busy. Make sure you check-in with the hostess. When its time to pay, just pay at the hostess and get whatever take out containers you need. read more

After a long hiatus the food is back to delicious! Dim Sum are fresh and various and service is finally smiling and efficient! Not sure the new walls do something for the ambiance and the giant TV screens are not welcomed. Still too much of MSG!! read more
