    Dim sum

I don't want to leave a positive review because I don't want too many people getting in my way as I push myself through the crowd to enjoy Dim Sum Cafe dim sum. This place is great.

Siu Mai--also a little bland, but good with chili sauce
    Alice F.

Our lunch was wonton soup, siu mai, har gow, bean curd rolls, chicken egg rolls, and Shanghai soup dumplings. Here are my ratings: Bean curd rolls 5/5--well prepared and a tasty garlic sauce on top Wonton soup 5/5--delicate and delicious broth with massive wontons Chicken egg rolls 5/5--generous amount of filling and nicely crispy Siu mai, har gow, and soup dumplings were all strangely bland in comparison. The excellent chili sauce helped, but I prefer my dumplings to have some seasoning on their own. Service was attentive, although the kitchen was a little slow. Don't go for the atmosphere--what do you expect from a strip mall restaurant? I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but I also would try them again.

Ugh so good. I love coming here for some authentic dim sum! I highly recommend coming with a group and ordering a couple things and sharing. The service is friendly and attentive. The place is small but it's cute.

Visiting AZ and my family and I decided we wanted Dim Sum for dinner. We found Dim Sum Cafe which was only a few minutes away from our hotel. Service was meh. She was nice towards the end of our dinner. Glad they served Dim Sum All Day. Food: Shrimp Steamed Dumpling Pork Pot Stickers Fried Rice Beef Chow Fun Shanghai Spup Dumplings aka XLB Pork / Shrimp Shumai All the dishes were delcious. Very flavorful. The shumai was huge and I really enjoyed the soup dumplings. I would return again. Small hole in the wall spot. Nothing fancy just good food.

Not much to say about the place. Food was bland. Mediocre at best. Wasn't bad, but wouldn't recommend or go back ‍

Very mediocre Chinese spot. I had the beef chow fun ($17) which was flavorless and bland. I also ordered the chicken dumplings which was 4 tiny dumplings for $6. Not flavorful at all and tasted like it was cooked from frozen. I did pickup and pay at cashier, yet the cashier woman was unfriendly and demanded I pay a tip. I do not like bullying for tips so I left $0. There already was a $1 convenience charge built into the bill for pickup. Will not be back here as there are much better options in Mesa.

The food is exactly what I needed for the cold rainy day! The taste was on point and special mentions for the Chili Oil sauce. The service was timely. The ambiance was good.

Good quality food!! We had been wanting yummy dim sum and pork! Fried was delish, it's something we always order at a new Asian restaurant. The service was nice. Seemed to be family owned. Small but cozy place which did accommodate larger parties. I especially loved the shrimp/pork dim sum options. Super delish! And the tray of sauces was super cute , was glad I was able to try all 3. The pork was yummy. Next time we order it we will get sauce on the side. Super saucy is good but that day we just wanted the pork fix. We will be returning.

    Chicken lo mein was delicious

We found this restaurant via Yelp and it did not disappoint! Food was delicious and service was good. We got the steamed pork buns, the filling was plentiful and so good. My pickiest eater said he would "100% eat here again".

Shrimp wonton.. a pebble shrimp inside

This was disappointing. First off we ordered a shrimp wonton soup and we got a tiny frozen shrimp inside a I don't even know what you can call it. Everything was off.

Eggplant, wonton noodle soup with broth on the side, scallion pancake.

My sister in law loves this place. Like really really loves this place, so went for a little family post Christmas weekend treat. 5 stars already bc it is in a little plaza (I love restaurants that are not pretentious, especially those located in non descript shopping plazas). Ambiance: Nothing fancy. Reminds me of the hole in the wall Chinese restaurants you see in movies, or that we would go to as kids in the 90s (just aged myself). Service: I will forewarn you- staff are not the friendliest. Food: Was pretty good. Menu is small, but that is ok because if you have too much, then you cannot always perfect your craft. We ordered: - Char siu bao (Pork BBQ buns). I'm sorry. As a Chinese woman, I could not get behind these. Maybe they were having a bad day, but the bread was very soggy, and fell apart in my hand right away. You don't want super gummy, doughy bao....but you don't want bao that cannot stick together. I will give them another shot though because my sister in law swears by them. - Xiao long bao (soup dumplings): they were good. Dumpling dough was tender. Pork was juicy, and the soup was delicately flavored. They didn't provide sliced ginger on the side though (not sure if they just don't do that in AZ?) to accompany the Xiao long bao. - Wonton noodle soup: light, delicate flavor. The wontons were also good, not too doughy, and not soggy (that is the worst!), and they were packed with flavor to balance against the lighter soup. Noodles were good too. - Eggplant - just get it. They were so tender, not super greasy, and the sauce was out of this world. - Hot oil sticks: you get these to dip in the wonton soup. These were SO GOOD. I usually don't like ordering these at restaurants because they're a) too doughy, which makes them heavy and sink in your stomach or 2) they're soaked too long in the oil, so they just again, sink in your stomach 3) they're served too cold. Here, none of that happened. These were warm a fluffy, and had a light crisp to them! - Scallion pancake - super tasty.

First time at Dim Sum Cafe in Mesa and so glad we came! Authentic Cantonese dim sum that's hard to find nearby and they serve it all day. The pork & shrimp shumai and the salt & pepper shrimp were both excellent. I enjoyed the chicken feet as well. Great service, great experience. Definitely worth the drive from Gilbert.

We were craving dim sum after rock climbing yesterday outdoors. This cafe was a welcome reprieve after being rained out and hailed on during the end of our climb. It was the comfort food we were searching for. They had all my basic favs like har gow (shrimp dumplings), shumai (pork and shrimp dumplings), and pork buns (which I didn't regretfully order because I already ordered so much!) The sticky rice and soup dumplings were so good! My husband was excited to order his favorite, the spicy fried shrimp with was mixed with jalapeños off the non-dim sum menu. You must order the scallion pancakes too, because they are cooked perfectly and such a treat! The staff is so nice here and the restaurant is super chill. I wish we lived closer because I know I would eat or order from here weekly if we did.

I've very picky about my food, but my sweet tooth loves their egg & custard tarts, their mochi w/ peanut, the rice porridge, the pineapple buns. Inside, the atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect -- controlled chaos, with traditional steam carts rolling through a packed dining room filled with large family tables. When choosing all you can eat buffets, I think you have to be realistic about what you are trying…read moreto achieve versus what is realistically possible. And with that declaration, I will say that Pacific seafood buffet definitely delivers as long as your expectations are realistic. And I would even argue that even if your expectations aren't realistic, they do a pretty damn good job delivering the goods when it comes to variety. While this is not a sushi buffet focused concept, they have a lot of great premade rolls sashimi and nigiri available around the sushi bar along with all the accompaniments that you would need to just eat sushi if that's what you desire. But they have far more selection than just those items. In addition to that they seem to be primarily known for their fresh crab legs, shrimp, and other seafood, but I honestly found those items to be some of the less interesting and less flavorful items available in the restaurant. As with any of these crab leg based, buffet's, the crab legs stayed empty, or mostly empty with you, having to special request some from your server, or at least notification from one of the cooks on when the next batch was going to be dumped. Again, as long as your expectations are in line, this is probably not a big deal for you. It wasn't for us. What I really like about this spot is the level of delicacies they offer which are clearly targeted to a primarily native Asian audience but for foodies like me, who like to venture out and try new things, this is a great way to do it without having to feel like you wasted your money on one dish that you may or may not end up eating. And while they encourage you to eat the food you take off of the buffet, they are not militant about it and don't hesitate to clean plates off of the table or refill your drinks, which is something we really appreciated. It can be a little crowded with larger families and crab leg fanatics, who only seem to be there to rush to the bar every time a new set of crabs are dumped, but other than that I would say this is a pretty enjoyable spot if you're just looking for a very affordable seafood buffet that features some of the better fresh seafood and sashimi items in the city.
