I have been searching for a place with great a eggplant dish for my vegetarian father. We used to live in Toronto and the Bay Area and miss good Chinese food. This place did not disappoint! It has super friendly staff and absolutely delicious and amazing food! The vegetable spring rolls were crisp and not greasy, unlike other places where you have to soak up the oil in napkins before you eat them. The eggplant was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing, the jalapeño chicken was fantastic, and I had to make myself stop eating the vegetable chow mein (and I don't normally care for most vegetables). Absolutely worth the drive from Maricopa! I will continue to beg you to open a restaurant there too!

Dropped in here for a quick lunch. Casual restaurant with a mom and pop vibe. Prompt and courteous service. The menu had a lot of variety to suit all palates. The spicy fried fish and the pork with dry tofu were both excellent. The rice is ordered separately and was a bit dry and didn't seem freshly made. I'd come back to try more of our favorite dishes and see if the rice improves.

My family's search for good Szechuan food in Gilbert has finally ended. I don't know what took us so long to try Szechwan Tasty, but glad we finally did over the summer. I called to place a to-go order and the staff on the other line was very helpful. We ordered our favorite Szechuan dishes: mapo tofu and spicy fish fillets. They happily accommodated our request for vegetarian mapo tofu. I sent my husband to pick up the order, which was ready and waiting for him when he arrived. The food was still warm when he made it home. Both were absolutely delicious! The flavors and spice were on point. The portions were decent, too. Szechwan Tasty has officially become our go-to spot for Szechuan food in Gilbert!

Take out Chinese is never that good! But me and the fam were very impressed, it was a 30$ price difference to pick it up verse having it delivered on door dash!! (Keep that in mind). It was very good, still hot, and ready on arrival! Cute clean little restaurant, and the gentleman at the front was very nice! New recommended takeout

If Gretel Y. Suggests... yes please! I started with the Pork Wontons with sweet and sour sauce then on the the Mongolian Beef, if you read any of my reviews you will know i love Mongolian Beef, has to be tender and they delivered! Mixed with onions white and green onions dried chilies! I think i will ask for med spicy next time. Just your typical hole in the wall family run Mandarin restaurant, that serves wonderful flavorful dishes!

Serivce, excellent! Hostess was super friendly, engaging, and patient with sharing her recommendations on what to order. She was patient with our questions since it was our first time. I ordered the jalapeño chicken. It was delicious! I just could handle the spice after a while. It has a kick! The lunch special is a great deal and gives more than enough food. I would recommend trying this place out!

ADVERTISED ON WEB PAGE, SAID THEY DONT BUY PINEAPPLE. WHAT A SHAME!!!!

Saw the great reviews and looked up the menu and saw the delicious looking food dishes. We went there and saw the picture of the sweet and sour chicken and asked to have that with shrimp, instead. The server said they don't buy pineapple and so I decided I didn't want it. I asked for a shrimp egg roll and I was told they don't make those and they only have spring rolls. They clearly had pictures of them on the web site and that was what brought us there. WE GOT UP,AND LEFT. WHY THE HELL YOU PUT PICTURES ON THE SITE OF FOOD YOU DO NOT HAVE OR MAKE. I would have went across the street and bought a can of pineapple to satisfy a customer, but since the place was completely empty, I know why. I have no idea how the have a 4.5 review and they refused whatever I ordered saying we don't have that. WHAT CHISE RESTAURANT DOES NOT BUY AND HAVE PINEAPPLE? Close the place and go home.

Szechwan Tasty Restaurant is a standout for top-notch Chinese food in the valley. It's known for authentic, bold flavors and a wide menu, from Kung Pao Chicken to Mapo Tofu. Our favorite dish was spicy fried fish.

Unfortunately, I was really disappointed :( To start, this restaurant is located in a large shopping center, so there is plenty of parking. We came as a party of 4 on a Saturday during lunch and were seated immediately. We sent our orders to the kitchen ourselves with a tablet, which is nice because you don't have to wait for the server each time you want to order more food. Unfortunately, when we received our first round of orders, more than half the dishes were cold, almost as if they've been sitting out for awhile. Even our egg drop soup wasn't warm, which was super disappointing. After we placed our second round of orders, I respectfully asked the server if they could make sure the food comes out warm this time since the first round was so cold. She was apologetic and agreed to let the kitchen know. Our second round was much better. The food was warm, but the first round of food made such a bad impression, I kinda already lost my appetite. Also, the server informed us that they charge an extra fee for any leftover food, even if it's just ONE dumpling. I found this rule to be pretty outrageous to charge an extra fee for just one uneaten dumpling. It's sad to say I will not be coming back here again. After seeing this place all over social media, I was so excited to try it. But unfortunately, I was disappointed. If you are thinking about trying this place, maybe don't do the AYCE option.

We thought the salt and pepper pork was too dry or overcooked. And it doesn't seem fair to rate general Tso as it's a fried dish and by the time you eat it 40 minutes later, it's not crispy anymore. It was pretty good as we threw it in the air fryer to crisp it up. The staff was friendly and our food was ready in about 12 minutes. I can see why this place is popular.

Order at the cashier, grab a number, and food will be served to you. Needless to say, I ordered the 4. Shanghai pork mini soup dumplings which were $10.25 for 6 dumplings. I would've loved less dough, more soup, overall bigger portion size (larger dumplings or more of them). Otherwise, the soup itself was tasty. We also ordered the 14. Chongqing Fried Spicy Chicken $13.95, which was a platter of boneless chicken and peppers. I was very impressed with the crisp exterior but soft/juicy interior of the chicken. I'm not usually a spice person, but I was left feeling tingly but not in pain and not numb. Overall I found Heng's Kitchen to be disproportionately pricey given the taste and portion sizes. I'm pretty critical and discerning about my XLB, and this place did not totally satisfy my craving, although I was pleasantly surprised about the chicken. Note: rice is not included with any dish and is $1 extra. Free room-temperature self-serve water available.
