    House Lo Mein with shrimp
    Jason M.

tl;dr Decent food, very limited seating, no public bathroom. Came here on a Saturday at 7PM. There's lots of parking at this strip mall but the restaurant only has 2 tables that seat 4. Luckily we were able to snag one of the tables. The party that arrived shortly after us weren't so lucky. Heads up! There's no public restroom here. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival. There's a big picture menu on the right wall. We decided on the egg drop soup, house lo mein with shrimp, and sweet and sour chicken. The food was decent and we left with food babies! Pro/con: If you're dining in the food is served in takeout containers and the plastic utensils provided are flimsy. However, the portions are large and if you want to take home the leftovers they're already in takeout containers :D

Arrived for dinner expecting to dine in, however there was only 2 tables available and we got the last one. Note this place is definitely not a dine in place, it's more of an pickup kind of place but if you're lucky you'll get a table on a busy night. We ordered egg drop soup-10/10. Lo mein with shrimp-9/10. Sweet and sour chicken 9/10. Downside eating in, the plates and utensils are disposable. Which makes sense because they're more of a to go order type set up. No restrooms available. Staff was great! Food came out fast! Majority of their orders were for pickup.

The servings were huge! We only ate like 1/4 of the food we ordered. The orange chicken definitely stole the show.

    Happy family and sesame chicken

We came here for a nice and easy take out dinner. We each got our favorite meals, the Happy Family and Sesame Chicken with Egg drop and wonton soup. We both really enjoyed the flavors of the dishes and that the ingredients seemed to be high quality and fresh. There were only a few concerns: 1. The prices are higher than the places we typically find with the same meal options 2. They don't provide wonton strips with the soups 3. They only give you one carton of rice (not very large) for two large entree meals. While the food tasted really good, the total price was the highest we've ever had.

I was honestly super disappointed with the food I ordered. The gluten free fried rice was legit just rice with veggies and a flavorless boiled chicken. I always appreciate when places offer gluten free options but in this case I'd forego the gluten free items.

General Tso Chicken was hot and fresh.

My food was hot and the veggies was fresh . I really enjoyed it. I ordered online and it was ready when I got there after only about 15 minutes. Perfect for my short lunch break.y

Small, cozy, and friendly place. The spring rolls and crispy dumplings were great. We'll stop by again when we're in the area.

For years I have driven 25 minutes for takeout and never regretted it. High decor -No, limited selections -No, quiet -No, great food -Absolutely, incredibly friendly and pleasant staff -100%. Our typical order is a large General Chicken with extra sauce and Malaysian fun chow. The general chicken is perfectly breaded, deliciously flavored, slight bite and an uncious taste making you want more. The Malaysian fun chow has wok fried wide rice noodles with a hint of char, shrimp, bean sprouts, onions, veggies and a light but savory taste. Another home run! Don't let the exterior or inside decor persuade your judgement. Hands down the staff is second to none and the food is fabulous. Asian Cafe Express is an incredible value for the food quality and portion size. Trust me, if you give them a shot, you will also be ordering here for years. To the staff, fabulous job and thanks!

A Mesa Asian District Gem Worth Seeking Out…read more Asian Cafe Express is a lovely strip mall gem near H-Mart in Mesa's Asian District, and after 21 years in business, it clearly has a loyal following for good reason. We brought in a fresh lobster from H-Mart to try their "bring your own seafood" cooking option and chose the garlic onion stir fry preparation. It's $14.99 for anything under 2 lbs and $7.50/lbs for anything over. It came out excellent, served over crispy egg noodles with classic Asian flavors and plenty of wok-fired goodness. We also enjoyed the Peking pork ribs, which were deboned, tasty, and slightly sweet; the stir-fried green beans, which were fresh and well prepared; and the garlic spicy chicken wings, which were especially flavorful and highly recommended. The red bean drinks were traditional and satisfying, with soft, nicely soaked mung beans and no milk. Service was friendly, efficient, and personal, handled by a couple of ladies who clearly know the restaurant and their customers well. While we were there, plenty of regulars came in for takeout and several tables were happily dining in. Overall, we really enjoyed Asian Cafe Express and were surprised we had not stopped in sooner. Highly recommend, especially for the "bring your own seafood" cooking option and the garlic spicy wings. We will definitely be back.

Chow fun had the wok hay ( wok air that makes food taste good) and thick slices of velveted beef slices. Pork and chive dumpling and XLB were juicy and moist and delicious with the ginger black vinegar chili oil sauce. I really like the food here and staff moves fast. Great place for a quick lunch.

The spicy is mild overall with a light chili spice on initial bite. It fades, so the dipping sauce was nice to have with it. The Xiao Long Bao were the winners of thee meal and would be why I go back. Easy to eat and tasty. I only wish the soup inside was a bit hotter. The Chicken Sheng Jian Bao was good, but the breading a little thicker than I personally like. This felt more like a dessert with the sesame bottom. Good taste, just heavy. Felt like we were rushed a bit and we're asked several times if we were done. There were empty tables, so that knocked it from the higher 3.5 side to the lower. Yelp is a flat star rating.

The shumai was meaty and felt too much in one bite so I only ate one. The rest was mediocre. We did order two main dishes as well but we thought the main dishes were a lot better than the dim sums we ordered. If I had to rate the food.
