We were craving some good Asian food for Friday lunch and found this spot based on a Yelp suggestion. We walked in around 12:45 pm and the place was packed, mostly with a lively senior crowd, looked like there was a party going on! Service was super quick and the pricing is honestly unbeatable. We started with the egg drop soup, which had great flavor. For our mains, we ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and Chow Mein. Both plates came with spring rolls and a crab wonton puff. The crab puff was surprisingly good lots of filling compared to most place and the spring roll was just as tasty. The portion sizes looked a bit small at first, but the food turned out to be quite filling. Both entrées were flavorful and well-prepared. Overall, it's a solid mom-and-pop restaurant with fast service, good food, and fantastic pricing. A great little find for a casual lunch! read more

The service was decent and food is better than any other places near our area that we've been too... I really want to gatekeep this amazing Chinese food spot. But I wanted to be a successful. We always go every several months or we have a tradition that every Christmas Eve we go to this location. The food alone is a die for. Everything here is delicious the fried rice, the soups the beef and broccoli is amazing. The orange chicken is great the honey walnut shrimp is awesome. I love the people in front that really helpful. Inside is a very classic Chinese food spot the bigger the table. You have the Susan in the middle to spin around to serve people. I love it. They need to deep clean - it smells rotten in the dining area. Food is delicious, service is always nice. But god'dang it stinks - like old food or rotten sewage , it's an older restaurant and they've been around for years. We ordered our usual order for pick up tonight since we bought the UFC fight & didn't want to cook. As always it was so good. The atmosphere was nice inside with a lot of tables and booth seating. Our server was very quick and efficient for a busy lunch rush. The food was okay. The chicken was dark meat and little over cooked on both dishes, which made it chewy. My lo mein noodles could of had more spice or flavor to them, they were a little bland. The spring roll and crab wonton were awesome and super hot (fresh to order). I would come back and give this place a second chance but I would opt for a beef or all veggie dish instead. Good evening all, it was one of those evenings were I or Jen didn't want to cook so we decided Yao's, we've been here before but I never have done a review so thought it was due for one, I've never been disappointed in the past with any of my selection so tonight thought I'd try something different. I had the Curry Chicken and was very happy with the dish and recommend it to try, Jen had the beef and Broccoli which was good but would like to have a bit more beef with the dish, the restaurant it self is nice place for dining in so we usually do as I like to sit and enjoy my dinner with Jen. This is the first time I was so unhappy with my food from here. I can not believe how lacking in taste the food was. Chinese from Fry's frozen section would have had more taste. We are a big fan of the egg rolls. Not too many places have good egg rolls. Unfortunately, none of our egg rolls were anywhere near as large as some of the photos people have shared. But still very good. Would like the large ones next time. Other food was ok. read more

Arrived about 30min to close which I usually try to avoid. Place was pretty empty which helped get attentive service. Inside decorations are a little bland. I ordered the lo mein and others got ginger chicken and general (Tso) chicken. The noodles were great and the chicken and veggies were all good sized and fresh as well. The egg roll was also good but only had a few bites as I didn't want anything deep fried. Hot and sour soup was good but only had 1 tofu cube in it. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It's hard to find good Chinese food in AZ (especially when I grew up on Chinese food from San Francisco China Town) - but I have found the place! Went with a friend for lunch and we were both extremely disappointed. We ordered food to go. Here are the issues; 1. Staff needs customer service training. My friend asked for shrimp to be added to her meal and asked how much it would be. The woman who was taking our orders said $1. My friend had already paid so I asked her to charge me the $1 and she said no. Then told us that it was $1 PER SHRIMP. Thats ridiculous and I feel Like she just made that up to price gouge. My friend said nevermind then. She had an attitude after that and practically threw our food at us when it was ready. Disgusting. 2. I'm quite sure that I read reviews stating that this place has generous portions. No it does not. At least not the lunch portions. It's cheap but the container is small in attempt to make it look like there's more food than there is. The crab wonton is TINY. Fried rice is terrible and dry and skimps on everything. 3. More detail about the food itself; fried rice is terrible. Very small amount of egg, nothing else. It had like 1/16th of an egg in my small Scoop of rice. Bland, no veggies. Egg roll; weird. Don't finish. Filling was different. Sweet and sour chicken; sauce tasted more like orange chicken sauce and color was off. Generous pineapple and peppers in it and chicken was good. Wonton; tiny. Very average. I got the beef and broccoli dinner combo. You get two crab rangoon, which were standard, and an egg roll, which was also pretty basic. The beef and broccoli was forgettable. The beef was sort of mushy and the sauce was bland. I would never order that again. Was recommended by a friend, so tried it out for the first time. The place was clean and had a friendly staff. The server got our order correct. She was knowledgeable about the dishes. I started out with the hot and sour soup. It did have a good flavor and it was nice and hot. For my main dish, I had pork chow mein with fried rice. The chow mein had a good flavor and well portioned but the rice was bland with no flavor. My wife had Kung Pao chicken. That was also very tasteful and hot. Her rice was the same. The dishes came with a crab puff, and a spring roll. The crab puff too much cream cheese. The spring roll was really good. The prices are fair for the location will come back for seconds. read more

Hot and sour soup was very good, and I was thrilled to find wood ear mushrooms AND straw mushrooms along with tofu, bamboo shoots, and lots of egg in the aoup. Aww the ladies that work here are so sweet, friendly & warm. They remind me of my Grandma. She is no longer with me. We used to have a spot that my family and I would go to in the Bay Area called Double Dragon in Antioch. This place probably comes close. This restaurant gives me the warm & fuzzy feeling that I'm home. The food is amazing. It arrived within the first 5 minutes of ordering. Everything was fast and high quality. The service is outstanding. I used to go here all the time when they were only doing Togo orders. It's so refreshing to actually sit and dine here, now that the restaurant is fully open. And each entree comes with white steamed rice, too. We fed 5 on 2 entrees, an appetizer, and a large soup and had leftovers of all but the soup. When ordering they kept saying, "Oh, no. For 5 people you need much more. Entrees are only for 1." As it was, we spent $75, which was reasonable for the food we got, but they would have had us spending twice as much or more.
