I've never physically dined at their restaurant (what parent to toddlers actually has time to dine-out anywhere nowadays), however, I've Doordashed from them a couple times now's and I'd have to say the flavor and authentic Thai vibe to their dishes are on point. Today I ordered their popular dry noodle dish called Tiew Haeng with beef as my protein choice, egg noodles and the spice level I chose "mild". It's basically a noodle dish that has your choice of noodle tossed a savory, sweet, and tangy sauce, topped with meats, crushed peanuts, fried garlic, and fresh herbs. I can't even begin to describe how delicious the sauce is. On top of that, the ratio of crunch with the bean sprouts and peanuts to the meat and noodles is well balanced. You also know it's a legit Thai spot when you order the spice level as "mild" and your tongue is still burning while eating. Will definitely order from them again and hopefully one day experience their service at the restaurant. read more

Okay , ima rice guy okay , i love rice ... the rice here is AMAZING !!!! I could not stay awake driving back to Tucson after having lunch here. I ate all my rice i forgot to take a picture of it . I ordered the crab fried rice & only only reason i did not do 5 stars is because i never saw any crab meat in the rice.. but the flavor and texture , green onions it was so good i want it again asap!!! We were greeted right when we walked in service was great ! Food came quickly ! The people i was with seemed to be regulars and talked Thai to the server. It was a great experience . Wifey wanted to try this restaurant so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. The boat noodle tasted like dirt to me and I could barely eat any of it. Maybe it's just me as I've never had it again but I'll definitely not be trying it again. The chicken wings were tiny and dry and had very little flavor. I was excited to try traditional Thai boat noodles for the first time but unfortunately this restaurant wasn't for me. The broth had a very earthy, muddy flavor that I personally didn't enjoy. I realize boat noodles are a traditional dish and many people love them, but the taste just wasn't to my palate. The beef was extremely tough and chewy and the portion size was pretty small too. We also ordered the chicken wings and they were disappointing. Six extremely small wings cost $12 and they had almost no flavor. I expected a unique dipping sauce but it tasted like a store bought sweet chili sauce. The staff was pleasant and I appreciate the opportunity to try an authentic dish but based on the portion sizes, tough beef and lack of flavor in the wings, I don't think I'll be returning. read more

I get takeout from here about 2-4 times a month now. This is the best boat noodle soup I've had in Arizona. So tasty!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I totally would! And, if I write a review on the same day/night that I go to a restaurant, it means you MUST check it out ASAP!!! It actually rained tonight here in AZ and as I drove home from work, my mind kept thinking "pho!" I drive past a pho place every night and just my luck, they are closed on Wednesdays, smh!!! All good, nothing Yelp can't fix right? Off I went searching for pho restaurants on my Yelp app. Thai Boat Noodles is the second place that popped up. My friend who's visiting for a few days called me as I was approaching home and asked if I wanted pho. Great minds think alike, so I scooped him up and off we went around the corner. No one was inside when we sat down, but let me tell you... I'm GLAD because we got the red carpet treatment!! I read a review that mentioned dumplings and pho, so I told my friend and we were stoked, thinking we could get dim sum AND pho. As we looked at the menu, we realized that review must have been mistaken because we didn't see any dumplings or pho on the menu. At first, I was disappointed. However, that feeling quickly dissipated. We ordered the Thai Chicken Fried Wings to share and we were blown away! They were perfectly crisp on the outside and steaming hot and fully cooked on the inside. They came with a sweet sauce to dip/drizzle and it was the perfect portion to share. We then ordered the Boat Noodle Soup. I ordered mine with beef and no spicy, whereas my friend ordered with mild spice and beef. They offer 4 sauces that are conveniently located on each table: chili flakes, fish sauce, sugar and a spicy vinegar with a baby kick, lol! It was was super filling and I left nothing in that bowl! As you can see from my picture, my friend is a WASTER!! OK, this is the part where you just need to stop reading this review and GOOOOOO!! I've never been to Thailand, so I can't compare, but I was shook!!! The broth was made fresh, just like the wings, and it was very flavorful! They give perfect portions, too. My mouth did the happy dance! We spoke briefly with the owner Pong, and he mentioned he and his wife run the place by themselves. While he runs the front of the house, she runs the back. You gotta love small local business owners! This is a cute place to go to for a quick and super satisfying home cooked meal. Plenty of seating for small groups, tables can be pushed together to accommodate larger parties. Dining area was clean with a TV to watch and decore to admire. It was all good! 10/10 In terms of spiciness, for me the medium was barely tolerable and the mild was barely there. I recommend getting mild and adding chili that's on the table. This is not your dime a dozen Thai restaurant that serves the typical curry variety , pad thai and tom yum. This place has some authentic, home style dishes that can transport your palate down the rivers of Thailand. If you are a REAL foodie, this is the type of place you want to stumble upon, where you will find unique and tasty dishes that are not common fare. Legendary Anthony Bourdain was big proponent for noodles and Southeast Asian cuisine because of his love for the simple ingredients, yet complex flavors. He explained how the food was a perfect mix of salty, sweet, sour, tangy all balanced within the dish. The flavors here were no exception and was perfectly perfect. THAI BOAT NOODLES- Fortunately you have multiple options for your spice level, noodles, and protein, as well as other add- ins, so you can get whatever floats your boat. I chose LEVEL1 heat because I can't handle spicy, and LEVEL1 was just right with a little kick. I went with chicken and vermicelli noodles. The soup was warm and hearty and hit the spot. Great alternative to Pho or Ramen or Beef Noodle soup if you are getting tired of those. PORK LIVER SALAD- salty and tangy to level out the pungent onion and bitter iron flavor of the liver. It was somewhat heavy but refreshing at the same time. The liver was very mild actually, compared to cow liver. If you can eat Bun Bo Hue, you will stomach this, no problem. I do wish the cabbage was cut up more to make it easier to eat as part of the dish. THAI TEA- it was heavy on the tea and very sweet the way it was made that day. I like mine more creamy. Next time I will definitely request different proportions. For those timid to venture into the unknown, they do have a curry dish, pad thai, fried rice, and drunken noodles that may be a safe choice and more familiar to your taste buds. The cool thing is that there are fresh herbs growing right outside the entrance of the building, that I assume are used in the dishes? Can't get any fresher than that! And you thought it was just for decoration. The other big reason to eat here is to SUPPORT LOCAL, support SMALL BUSINESS. This place has somehow been able to survive this cursed site thus far, where no restaurant has been able to stay in business. My wife and I came here for a later dinner. We came right before closing and they were still nice enough to accept our sit down order before the kitchen fully closed. We were the only ones there. The good: we locked the Thai boat noodles & drunken noodles. They give you the option to choose your own noodles as well as your protein. There is a dry noodle and soup version of this dish. Date night landed us at this unique Thai restaurant that offers boat noodles. We arrived around 6pm and the place was not busy until midway through our meal. We shared the papaya salad with medium heat. Whew! This was definitely on the hotter side but we finished it! It's one of those heats that is burning your mouth but it's so good, you eat more if it! Then we had the Thai chicken wings...probably one of the best crispy wings I've had! This beats all the local wings I've had. It comes with a love chili sauce and cabbage salad. For entrees we got the panang curry with tofu. Also one of the best fried tofu in a dish that had a good amount of it. The curry itself was flavorful. We got mild on this one and it wasn't spicy at all. Lastly, the star of the show, was the boar noodles. Super rich with flavors of herb and irony. IYKYK! This place has been on my "must try" list for the boat noodle soup. Finally, I was in the area and met my friend for lunch, did not disappoint. Not having been here before, the location was a little hard to find, tucked away in a strip mall. The place is small, very nondescript decor. The husband and wife work there, very friendly. I was craving Thai Boat Noodles ever since my friends and I were talking about it. I've tried theirs before when they were at the pop up location in Chandler but have not been to their new location here until last night. It took me a minute to find them. They are right next to Filiberto's. I've had boat noodles before at other restaurants and have even made it at home a few times the past! It's different than other noodle soups you would normally see and has a different flavor too. I recommend trying it at least once! For a picky eater like me, many are surprised that I eat this broth because of one ingredient it uses (I'll let you Google it haha). There are Vietnamese noodles soups that use the coagulated cubes that I won't even eat, but this broth uses the liquid version. It adds richness to the broth. My order: Thai Boat Noodles Noodles w/ beef $16 -regular rice noodles -no bean sprouts -spice level: HOT Thai Papaya Salad $13 -spice level: HOT The boat noodle was delicious! Comes with some greens, sliced beef and homemade beef meatballs. Also comes with chili vinegar and chili flakes on the side. I used the entire container of chili vinegar. Gave it a nice balance in flavor. The papaya salad was also delicious and spicy! Wish the portion was bigger though. The owner was really nice and chatted with me a bit. It's really flavorful, the rice noodle soaked with the rich broth was sooo good, the amount of meat inside was also generous. Got a pad thai and a chicken thai boat noodle soup and they were delicious!! Pad thai was on the less saucy side which is what I preferred. Not too sweet, just the right amount of saltiness and lots of fresh bean sprouts, peanuts and fried tofu was so soft inside. Thai boat noodle soup was savory, just the right amount of spice with a medium for me, chicken meatballs are homemade and bouncy. Comes with Asian leafy green. This place was on my list to try for a while and I am glad I made it there! The food was just delicious. First there is plenty of parking in the plaza and the place itself has quite a good number of tables. The inside is simple yet cozy. The staff were friendly and efficient. We started off with the sun dried pork which was packed with flavors. We tried the boat noodle soup and the Tiew Hang and both were really good. My favorite dish of the night was the Khao Mun Gai (chicken). The chicken was poached to perfection and the sauces were incredibly good. Definitely a must try. This small restaurant popped up in the neighborhood about five and a half months ago. I've been hearing good things so today my wife and I decided to give it a go. The restaurant is small but pretty clean and organized. The owners were very friendly. And the food was amazing. We started off with the sun dried pork off of the appetizer menu. This dish is awesome! To me it was like a chicharone and a thick cut piece of bacon combined. The seasoning was delicious and the sauce was spectacular. A little tangy and a little spicy. I highly recommend this as an appetizer!! My wife ordered the Boat Noodle Soup and I ordered the Tiew Hang. We both had chosen the egg noodles and beef for our dishes. These two dishes are also very good. Great flavors, fresh ingredients and wonderful texture to the food. The meatballs were a little curious to me because I've never had them before. A LITTLE BIT OF THAILAND IN MY OWN BACKYARD!!! WHO KNEW?? My wife and I have been searching for authentic tasting Thai Food and her friend brought her to Thai Boat Noodle a few weeks ago. She, being a native of Southern Thailand and having a pallet for Thai cuisine, it is extremely hard for her to be pleased/impressed by any Thai restaurant. The fact that she suggested that we eat here and for her to want to visit a Thai eatery 2X is a major statement. Most times I will suggest eating or trying a new Thai establishment and the answer is always a flat NO! The food here was absolutely GREAT and it rivals some of the top Thai restaurants that we have tried in Los Angeles. The food is extremely tasty and of really great quality. I started off with their handmade egg rolls, which were absolutely exquisite. We followed with main courses of their Beef Penang and my wife had Thai Cucumber salad. All were spiced just right. For desert We had The Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango. It was to DIE FOR!!! The Mango was ripened to perfection and the desert was an overall 10. The ambience of the restaurant is rather simple and dining is very casual. While we were were there we ran into Instagram influencer @foodiehand and ruby. They allowed us to photograph their food as well so you can get an idea what some of the dishes actually look like. All in all a great dining experience that we will visit again. read more

A few of my friends heard about this place and asked me to try it out first and report back to them my thoughts. After a few visits, I can safely say that this is probably the best Thai boat noodles I've had so far in Arizona! So far for non-noodle items, we have tried the pork meatballs, the fish bomb, pork jerky, and the Thai wings from the special menu. The accompanying sauce for the meatballs was simply delicious. It was sweet but also had a nice subtle spice to it. The pork jerky was nice and crispy, not soggy at all. Now for the boat noodles, the broth was aromatic and rich in flavor, not overly salty at all. So far, I've tried the boat noodle soup with pork and with beef. The pork was a little bit too tough for my preferences, but the beef was nice and tender. If you're not sure on what spice to level to get, I recommend starting off with mild and adjusting to your preferences with the supplied condiments that are on the table. The portions are quite generous and well worth the price, sometimes it's a struggle to finish it all in one sitting. The ambiance of the place is simple but also comfortably inviting. Now that they have their own restaurant in Gilbert I was super excited to try especially with extended hours and availability. A cute and very authentic Thai restaurant. I did not think I would find boat noodles in Phoenix, so I knew I had to try! The service was super friendly and helpful. They had a special of "fish bombs" that was essentially a cross between a fish ball and a fish cake. Super delicious! Possibly one of the best fish paste-type dish I've had. The boat noodles were authentic and tasty, but boat noodles in general may not be everyone's cup of tea. It is a very complex flavor that is primarily savory, but subtle notes of sweet and medicinal. I am a fan, but do acknowledge it may not be the most inviting flavor for someone new to Thai cuisine. Therefore it's worth noting that boat noodles (wet or dry) are their primary entree. They do not serve your typical Thai noodle dishes found in most US Thai restaurants. If nothing else though, you MUST come here for their mango sticky rice. I was shocked by how high quality it was. The rice texture and the sauce flavor were absolutely on point. The Thai mango was perfectly ripe and sweet. It tasted better than many mango sticky rices I've had in actual Thailand! There's finally a place specializing in Thai boat noodles in the Valley! I got Tiew Hang (dry boat noodles) with beef and it truly exceeded my expectation. The beef was super tender, and the rice noodles were cooked perfectly. The flavors were excellent as is - there is no need to add the condiments on the table at all. We also ordered non-boat noodle dishes. Pork Laab tasted just like what you'd get in Thailand. Khao Poon (rice noodle in red curry broth) was also great and can't be found anywhere else in Phoenix. She added a bit more chili and some chili vinegar and she said it was so good, that had it not been such a big dish, she would have cleaned her plate. My boat noodle soup had tons of flavor, but if you're Thai, you always add the extra condiments they bring to your table. My meat of choice was pork and it was the most tender pork I've ever had. Unbelievable! Even though we failed to wear our Thanksgiving pants and were splitting our pants seams, we still ordered the mango with sticky rice. I've never had one so good. I can't even explain it. I contemplated ordering one to go, but for two women to have gone through 5 plates of food, shame washed over me, so I made a solemn vow to return very soon. Next to Filiberto's. Nice owner, food came out fast. Definitely authentic, it just wasn't my taste. The soy sauce base they use for the dry noodles was sweet and different. The larb flavor wasn't as lime and fish sauce flavored as I like mine. But I love the fresh ingredients used in both. I would visit again. I'd try something different next time. This is one of my favorite restaurants for boat noodles. I believe this establishment opened this year, the menu is still growing, parking is decent, and family ran business. I've been to a few Thai restaurants, this one is by far the most authentic (for boat noodles). The menu just added Lao style papaya and Thai style. The restaurant has about 8-10 tables, it gets busy during lunch hours and there is one waiter/cashier. I try to order during off hours as one time a to go order took about 45 minutes so plan accordingly if you do not have the time. The parking is fine, the restaurants around this area is hidden so it doesn't get too packed in this gem. read more

Ordered for pick up via Bento and the predicted time of pick up was inaccurate- seemed as though it was on the wrong time zone, an hour ahead. It was a bit confusing so hope they can sort it out soon. I ordered at 11:45am and it said ready at 1:11pm. I got there around 12:08 and my order was about ready! Service was kind and friendly. Got the boat noodle soups in chicken and beef. The meatballs were delicious! Soup was flavorful and on the thicker side. My only issue was that the noodles were overcooked, too soft and no bounce. We got both the regular and egg noodles. That was a bit disappointing, maybe it would be better if we ate it in person? I had high expectations because it was raved all over Facebook foodie groups. I got some sticky rice for dessert and the rice was packed a bit too much into the heart shaped mold. Wish it was shaped into the mold a bit looser for more bounce and chew. It was a bit more work to chew since it was a thick piece of rice. The maraschino cherry was really strong and that flavor stuck onto the rice a bit more than the coconut milk. Thai boat was just ok. I'm starting my search for Thai boat in and around the Phoenix area, and was soo excited to see this restaurant name. Had high expectations, but it definitely fell flat. I did like that it was hearty and meaty. Most of all, the noodles were packed well for takeout. My issue is the broth tasted about the same quality as powdered/jar Thai boat broth. Just bland and lacking. I am giving high stars because this is probably decent for AZ. read more
