    Yellow Curry Lunch Special
    Francheska J.

There's nothing like a nice, hot curry during a weekday lunch break! I came in with my family for a quick lunch catch-up on a weekday, and there was definitely a huge lunch hour rush. It took about 15 minutes to seat us, but once we were seated the service was quick and the food came out relatively fast. I can definitely see why there was a rush, the lunch deal is absolutely a steal and is hard to beat! I opted for the yellow curry lunch deal- it came with rice, an egg roll and fried dough on the side. I thought it was a solid dish, and the curry was seasoned well, just slightly on the more liquid-y side. The staff was so pleasant, and apologetic about the wait, we felt very comfortable once we were at a table. Definitely will have to come back to try the other dishes, that tom yum soup looks soooo delish!

This place has been a popular lunch spot for years... which means its gonna get busy, fast. Our groups Lunch exprerience was just "ok", with one major drawback. It took a long time to get our food and even longer to get water refills. At any Thai spot, you know you gotta keep the water flowing!!! They were turning tables quickly, but didn't feel like they had enough staff to really support the busy crowd. Ordering felt super rushed, and then it was crickets until the food came out. 2 of us ordered from the Lunch Specials and got the Mango Delight & the Paht Thai. I typically stay in the "Mild" range, and it was spot on. The Manago delight was 3 or 4 Star hot and yeah... it was hot. Food was still good just a bit more heat I was told, than previously ordered. The food had that flavor profile that we all enjoyed, outside of the spice, a bit inconsistent, but no real complaints. If the service was more attentive and less rushed, I'd give another star.

Lunch special Paht Thai with chicken

Thai Rama has been a family favorite for many years. We came here recently for lunch on a Friday just after 11:00am. They had just opened, and it was already getting busy. Food took a little longer too because they were fulfilling a lot of to-go orders. We ordered a few items off of the lunch menu and ate it family style. All lunch specials come with a cup of soup to start. It had a little bit of rice and chicken, and the broth tasted very light and refreshing. The Tohd Mahn (fish patties) paired with cucumber sauce was flavorful and a good starter (on the Appetizer menu). For lunch specials, we got the following with medium spice level: Paht Thai with chicken (stir-fried with rice noodles and egg in a sweet & spicy sauce, topped with peanuts) Paht Kaprow with tofu (stir-fried with fresh chili peppers, onions, bamboo shoots, basil) Paht See-Eew with tofu (stir-fried wide rice noodles, broccoli) All three came with crispy wonton chips and vegetable egg rolls. I love that we always share food so we can have a little bit of everything. Paht Thai has been and still is my favorite dish there. They now have a QR code at the table that you can scan to order food and/or pay. We took advantage of the convenient online checkout. Overall we had a great meal, and I can't wait to come back!

I must have been living under a rock! How did I not make it to this place till now. Located in the corner of Dobson & Chandler blvd this little tucked in restaurant is not to be missed. You can place order online, on call and go drive to pick up. We chose to dine in and went on a Wednesday for lunch. There was good lunch crowd but wasn't the busiest. It's not an upscale restaurant but a good family style, been there doing that kind of a place. The service is exceptional, super friendly, attentive and helpful. We went with our Pad see ew, Pad ki moo, soup and mango with sticky rice. Everything was so good and delicious, loved the rich flavors and portions. I enjoyed my meal and the dessert too. The pricing is very reasonable, I would definitely be back! This is going on my rotation for sure.

Really tasty Thai food in such an unassuming building in Chandler. Service was quick which is great because the restaurant was busy for lunch and only got busier the longer we were there. The soup broth had a great depth of flavor and the yellow curry was rich and delicious. Great option for Thai food.

You can never go wrong with this spot! Every meal is comforting even if it's a take out. What I love most about this place is their lunch prices and portions. There's enough for leftovers.

Great food amazing service !! Talk about one of the best Thai food restaurants I have eat at !! My server was super attentive if you want great Thai food stop on by to Thai Rama !!

We got the chicken satay (delicious and highly recommend), veggie spring rolls (tastes like your typical veggie roll and was good), chicken massaman curry (I really liked it but wish I would have gotten is spicier - I got medium but should have done hot because it was too mild for me), and my husband got drunken noodles with chicken (he got hot and wishes he would have done Thai hot). It was good Thai food, comparable to what we ate in Thailand. :) I really liked that the portions were large and each entree got us two meals. The pieces were fair, the restaurant was pretty low-key, clean, decent bathrooms. They had high chairs and kids cup which I always appreciate. We also fed our child with everything we ordered and got out for around $50, including ordering a hot tea.

We were greeted and seated immediately although there was about a 10 minute delay before we were able to get a beverage and order. We learned the ownership changed about 1.5 years ago, furthermore they had recently lost some staff. The service was slow, so please be patient and plan accordingly. We started our meal with the lettuce wraps appetizers. A fun and interactive dish where you build the wraps with Iceberg lettuce leafs and spoon ground seasoned chicken mixture with shiitake mushrooms, chestnuts, onion and garlic. It was a nice start to the meal, although good, not great. We ordered the Tom Kaa soup medium heat and Pad See-Ew Thai hot heat as our mains. The Tom Kaa soup is a coconut lemongrass soup which was our favorite, although we would request extra lemongrass as it was lacking. The Pad See-Ew was good, but lacked depth of flavor and heat, furthermore the dish and portion was smaller. See previous review. It was a mixed dining experience and leaves me feeling a little disappointed as Chon Thai Food is not that special restaurant any longer it seems. We will likely return at some point but can't say I'm excited.

The basil chicken had almost no basil flavor at all. I only found a single basil leaf in the entire dish, which took away from what should be a signature ingredient. The Tom Yum soup was fine, but not memorable, and the spice level across both dishes was surprisingly mild for a Thai restaurant. The peanut dipping sauce was excellent. I tried the pad Thai and my mom tried the drunken noodles. I ordered 3/5 or "hot" and she ordered 0/5. The pad Thai was a bit wet, it could have used a bit less sauce. It was almost a soup. The noodles were good but there unfortunately was almost no spice. I was pretty disappointed, as I was really looking forward to sweating from some good Thai spice. 3/5 should be hot, not mild. Was the weakest "hot" I've ever had. I've had many 2/5s elsewhere that were far hotter.

Item M14 -Gang Kiew Waan Roti from the photos says it's served w/ roti. But we were charged an additional $3 for roti, which was not mentioned to me when putting in the order. Only after we received our order and saw the receipt did I check Google. Web link on Google works and it appears they changed the name of the item and removed roti from the name. 2. To go portions are small for the price. Chicken larb was enough for like 2 people and had only one piece of lettuce. Papaya salad was also small and 1/2 the container was garnishes (carrots/cabbage). 3. For a noodle soup, any other place would put noodles separate from its broth. My khao soi came all in one container. Forgot to take a photo while it was in the container but there's an old photo of it somewhere on Yelp. 4. Crab fried rice had barely any crab. 5. There was no white rice. Places usually provide some white rice regardless if you order fried rice but I guess that's an extra charge here. 6. We ordered medium spicy for majority of the dishes because one person can't handle spicy but everything came out mild tasting. Even my khao soi, which I ordered hot spicy level, came out mild. 7. Thai tea was missing. After ordering, I asked the person on the phone to read back my order to me. She listed everything I had ordered including the thai tea.
