The decor is simple yet inviting, highlighted with Buddha's, Thai culture and pictures of Thailand. We ordered Paht See-eew lunch 3 star and the Evil Jungle Princess curry entree 1 star, not available on lunch menu. Food arrived about 10 minutes. The flavor and heat level was on point. I moved from 2 star last time to 3 star this time and I will likely do the same in the future. Beware as 2 star is Thai hot! The curry had good flavor, but was a little runny. We prefer a thicker and richer curry. Our server was friendly and responsive, kept our ice waters full, a good thing when eating spicy foods! While grocery shopping, I placed an online order of Phat Ped Pla Dook (deep fried catfish fillet stir fried with chili peppers, carrots, and Thai basil) with a side of Phat Thai noodles. I also ordered their lunch special Phat See-eww with beef. I was very surprised it would be a 40 minute wait to pick up the food. I was also surprised they charge an additional $1 to order online. Hmmm As I waited in my car, there was a constant stream of customers going in and out so it seemed like a very popular and I was excited to dig in when I got home. I was going to order "to-go" decided to stay after I seen the menu Lots of choices and you can choose spice, rice type & protein. There's nothing like a nice, hot curry during a weekday lunch break! I came in with my family for a quick lunch catch-up on a weekday, and there was definitely a huge lunch hour rush. I can definitely see why there was a rush, the lunch deal is absolutely a steal and is hard to beat! I opted for the yellow curry lunch deal- it came with rice, an egg roll and fried dough on the side. They were turning tables quickly, but didn't feel like they had enough staff to really support the busy crowd. Ordering felt super rushed, and then it was crickets until the food came out. 2 of us ordered from the Lunch Specials and got the Mango Delight & the Paht Thai. I typically stay in the "Mild" range, and it was spot on. The Manago delight was 3 or 4 Star hot and yeah... it was hot. Food was still good just a bit more heat I was told, than previously ordered. The food had that flavor profile that we all enjoyed, outside of the spice, a bit inconsistent, but no real complaints. Thai Rama has been a family favorite for many years. We came here recently for lunch on a Friday just after 11:00am. They had just opened, and it was already getting busy. Food took a little longer too because they were fulfilling a lot of to-go orders. We ordered a few items off of the lunch menu and ate it family style. All lunch specials come with a cup of soup to start. It had a little bit of rice and chicken, and the broth tasted very light and refreshing. The Tohd Mahn (fish patties) paired with cucumber sauce was flavorful and a good starter (on the Appetizer menu). For lunch specials, we got the following with medium spice level: Paht Thai with chicken (stir-fried with rice noodles and egg in a sweet & spicy sauce, topped with peanuts) Paht Kaprow with tofu (stir-fried with fresh chili peppers, onions, bamboo shoots, basil) Paht See-Eew with tofu (stir-fried wide rice noodles, broccoli) All three came with crispy wonton chips and vegetable egg rolls. I love that we always share food so we can have a little bit of everything. Paht Thai has been and still is my favorite dish there. I must have been living under a rock! How did I not make it to this place till now. Located in the corner of Dobson & Chandler blvd this little tucked in restaurant is not to be missed. You can place order online, on call and go drive to pick up. We chose to dine in and went on a Wednesday for lunch. There was good lunch crowd but wasn't the busiest. It's not an upscale restaurant but a good family style, been there doing that kind of a place. The service is exceptional, super friendly, attentive and helpful. We went with our Pad see ew, Pad ki moo, soup and mango with sticky rice. Everything was so good and delicious, loved the rich flavors and portions. I enjoyed my meal and the dessert too. I've been there more times than I can count for lunch and a handful of times for dinner. Dinner does have some different recipes and options then you have at the Economical lunchtime. Their Thai tea is very good, but I prefer it also was iced tea. My favorites are garlic chicken, Pat pie, red curry. I've had their dessert of mango rice. Very nice. Another great meal at one of our favorite Thai places! Food is very consistent each time we visit. The restaurant is a bit tired and used but the staff is friendly and there typically locals and regulars there when we visit. Their Tohm Kah is so lusciously creamy and coconutty and limey and just so wonderful! Lots of mushrooms and I had tofu and chicken added and no spice. We got the chicken satay (delicious and highly recommend), veggie spring rolls (tastes like your typical veggie roll and was good), chicken massaman curry (I really liked it but wish I would have gotten is spicier - I got medium but should have done hot because it was too mild for me), and my husband got drunken noodles with chicken (he got hot and wishes he would have done Thai hot). It was good Thai food, comparable to what we ate in Thailand. :) I really liked that the portions were large and each entree got us two meals. The pieces were fair, the restaurant was pretty low-key, clean, decent bathrooms. They had high chairs and kids cup which I always appreciate. Stopped by Thai Rama with some co-workers for lunch. The place was nearly full when we arrived so that was a good sign that this place is good. Eventually our waitress took our drink and food orders but it was a bit of a wait. It wasn't as long as the actual wait for the food though :( I'm going to assume that the kitchen was short staffed since the place was full but it did take quite a while to get our food. Took a little over an hour from the time we arrived to the time we left. Not great for a lunch break during the week. However, the food was great. I got the red curry with mild heat (the lowest possible) and it was very flavorful. I usually go for yellow curry but I'd definitely get the red here again. The lunch special also comes with some fried wontons, an egg roll and some sweet and sour sauce. It was all very tasty and I would definitely come back again. Khoa paht - Fried brown rice with pineapples, mixed vegetables onions, & tomato no eggs. The lunch special also comes with an egg roll, and soup but I got neither with takeout which sucks. When I got there to pick up my order it was very busy which is always a good sign. The rice was really good, my only real complaint not enough vegetables. We havent been here in a long time but my wife was in the mood for their yellow curry. Walking in, the restaurant looks old and run down, but we were greeted by a very nice staff member and were brought to our booth. The seat was ripped and the wall next to us had seen better days. Fortunately the food and service makes up for these short comings. The menu is very large and the prices are reasonable. Our food was delicious and I particularly liked our appetizer, the salad rolls with peanut sauce. We got some to go, they make a great snack. You don't know how happy I am that there is a location in chandler. When I was growing up in Phx, we used to go to the camelback one all the time! My parents would use that against us if we ever did something wrong because they knew how much we loved it. I randomly decided to look it up and saw they have this location! I have to say, this is the first time I've ever seen a Thai restaurant with a to-go order drive through window! If I lived closer, this would be perfect for me. I came here for dinner on a Monday evening with three friends. The interior is simple and the staff was attentive and friendly. I ordered a Thai iced coffee and the drunken noodles (pad kee mao) medium spice. The pad kee mao was good, and on the higher end of medium spice due to the use of chili peppers (with seeds) instead of bell peppers. I don't prefer when the noodles are all broken up and that was the case here, but it was still a yummy dish. Compared to some other fantastic options in this area, this one isn't my favorite, but still a very solid option. If you are trying to make a to go order and can't get them to answer the phone, it's because they prioritize the customers they are already serving. To be bluntly honest I think this place needs some help from the waiters more than anything. My issue or complaint has nothing to do with the food or anything to do with the quality of the food. I would honestly say that this place has great Thai food. However when it came to the service is was very disappointing in many ways. To start off we waited almost 45 minutes to get our food, then we never figured out who was our waiter. Then when it came to wanting to order desserts , we wanted to but we didn't want to wait because as it is we already waited a hour to eat. On top of that everyone around got their food even though we order first. At this point it was really hard for us to enjoy anything because we just never had anyone check on us or help us out. We loved the food and the quality of the food. I would it's the best I've had in a long time. However it's hard to enjoy good food when you don't know when the food is coming or who your server is. I think the think that annoyed me the most was that it wasn't even busy, was just maybe two or three tables. I was starting to give up hope on finding a good Thai restaurant, but I'm so glad we made the choice to try Thai Rama. This is probably the best Thai food I've had so far! We came in for the lunch special menu and got a Panaeng Curry and Khao Paht. When you dine in, you get a complimentary soup of the day. Today's was a very healing chicken, lemongrass, cilantro, and rice soup. The broth was so rich! It was incredible. It instantly made me feel better after a challenging morning. Along with the soup, all lunch specials also come with fried wonton chips, an egg roll, and a sweet sauce to dip them in. I loved having the crunchy textural contrast with our rice and curry dishes. The egg roll was very fresh, crisp, and not greasy. Their egg rolls are filled with a starchy vegetable and some small amounts of other root vegetable like carrot. Personally, it's not my favorite egg roll, but I am very picky with my egg rolls and fillings. It's still a very quality egg roll! They fry them super well. My partner got the Panaeng Curry in medium spice. There are many different spice levels you can choose from including some notches beyond the extra hot. I am sensitive to spicy foods in the sense that I can't handle hot! It hurts me. But I found the medium spice to be around the level of mild that you might get at other places. The curry was so good! The sauce is addictive. We even dipped our egg rolls and wonton chips in it because it was that good. I got the Khao Paht and was super happy with it as well. It's a very flavorful fried rice. I personally wished the beef pieces were smaller, but the beef itself was very tender. I could still cut the pieces in half with just a fork. Overall, the lunch specials are incredibly worth their value. You get a good amount of food for an inexpensive price and unbeatable flavor. For those with smaller appetites, a single lunch special dish can easily become two meals. We very happily took our leftovers home with us :) We definitely want to come back and try some dishes that aren't part of the lunch special menu! Update: We got the Panaeng Curry again in medium spice and it was closer to what you might expect when you order in medium spice. It was spicier! It made my nose run this time and stung my mouth, but it was still very delicious. I've been here a few times, and there are some things that are better than others, but I would say overall, I've always enjoyed meals and will keep coming back to try new things. The top favorite is the peanut curry dish. It is so flavorful and delicious. Also, the sweet and sour is surprisingly good and has a very crunchy breading, which is always great. Atmosphere - The place has a pickup window for orders placed ahead of time.  The place screams a reused fast food restaurant.  It also screams it needs an update to the interior.  The pseudo Art Deco upper wall treatment just feels weird and out of place.  The tables have spots where the surface is warn down.  Maybe an easy update for the warn out tables would be table clothes. Food Drink - I just had water.  There was no beer on the menu but there was a piece of art work from Tiger Beer, an Asian beer company from Singapore.  Note I did not ask our waitress if they had any. Free Appetizers - When the water came out a small cup of soup was also brought out.  It was a tasty lemon grass chicken and rice soup. Small Appetizers - Ordered the fried tofu.  So damn hot, I would rip one open to each the early tofu I ripped open.  Tofu is pretty bland, so that dipping sauce was amazing.  We will probably order that again.  Could not place my finger on the type of sauce but it had crushed peanuts on it.  Maybe a peanut oil, with other items in it. Lunch - I went the #45 Nuea Sa Wan, blah blah blah.  They were out when I ordered.  I had to go with my back up plan, #32 Red Curry (Gaeng Pad) with chicken, medium heat.  The heat level was lower than expected but that was fine, I do not need my face melted off.  The curry was amazing and loved soaking it up with the rice.  A little too many bamboo slivers for my taste,  Not to worry the meal was still filling. I have been going to this Thai Rama location for well over a decade and they are consistently good. The service is fast and friendly. The portions are good size and a good value for the money. I love that they offer lunch specials with yummy soup, crispy wontons, and a spring roll. I had the Thai basil chicken for lunch yesterday and added broccoli, it was delicious! My friend ordered the yellow curry and enjoyed hers as well. If you are on the fence I highly recommend you try this local gem. read more

Whenever I go to a Thai spot, I always end up getting the pad thai. I just love it too much to get anything different. Overall it was super solid pad thai. Good chewy noodles, great flavor. I got pad thai with pork and the pork wasn't too over cooked, but still a bit on the chewier side. Prices are about right. The interior could be a bit more updated. It was a little dim on the inside and the booths/tables looked like an old Denny's interior with booths around the sides and tables dotted the middle. Service was great. Checked this place out for lunch with my wife mostly because of the clean rating. I went with my usual yellow curry chicken and my wife got a beef dish. The yellow curry chicken was delicious and the rice was perfectly cooked. The only thing I would have liked to see was a little more chicken but other than that I loved it. A lot of times the potato's yellow curry chicken are hard and these were perfectly cooked where they are fluffy. My wife liked her beef dish. The only thing she wished was there were some vegetables. One thing that stood out about this place was they were very accommodating to put sugar or sweetener on the side especially for the thai iced teas. Let us sweeten to our taste. Also, another thing that stood out was they brought a really delicious soup for free as an appetizer. It was really nice! We will definitely be going back again. I got takeout from here and it wasn't bad. I appreciate that it was ready in 10 minutes and that the hostess was very nice. I got the chicken Pad Thai and the squid salad. I really enjoyed the Pad Thai, as it's your standard dish. The portion was big and lasted me two meals. I would give four stars, but the squid salad was pretty disappointing. It was limp and lame, and included just two or three pieces of squid. The rest of the solid was boring, not to mention way too salty, and I didn't finish it.
