We were home, hungry, and had the front door wide open--no sign of any delivery. Called the driver, who was rude, insisted he'd left it at the correct address, and then hung up on us. Contacted Yupha's, and to their credit, they made us a replacement meal - but we had to drive there ourselves to pick it up. Yupha's basically blamed us for ordering online, and refused to fully refund the delivery fee + prepaid driver tip, even though we never received the original order and had to handle pickup ourselves. End result: very delayed dinner, extra driving, and still stuck paying part of a delivery we never got. Really poor handling of a clear mix-up on their/DoorDash's end. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste. We won't be ordering from Yupha's again. read more

WTF... we went out to get some takeout and I wasn't feeling the curry. I decided on the orange chicken, how bad could it be. I received Sysco fried chicken tenders with a really nice orange sauce. Yupha's service and atmosphere is consistently great. I visited there again today (Monday) for lunch. I ordered a bowl of Tom Kha with chicken and house salad with grilled chicken with peanut sauce. The soup was tasty but not as tasty as other places I've eaten at (outside AZ). The peanut sauce was far from what I expected and the salad was also. The peanut sauce seemed to be a mix of sweet chili sauce and a thin peanut sauce. Not very tasty to me. The grilled chicken was not what I expected - seemed liked a food service frozen version - disappointing. Sorry, but this place has some good dishes and some not so good dishes in my opinion. Order: Tom Kha Pot w/ Chicken (med spice) $14 Tom Yum Bowl w/ Chicken (hot) $6 Papaya Salad (med) $13 Eggplant Basil Sauce w/ Chicken (med) $17 Pad See Ew w/ Beef (med) $18 Crying Tiger Steak $29 Thai Iced Tea $5 Thai ice tea and tom yum soup were for me and they were so good! Medium to hot for spicy level is perfect. All other shared items were good as well. The thing we didn't think was worth it was the steak. For $29, you'd expect a bigger piece of steak. The steak was small! I do like the green sauce it came with though. I also felt the eggplant basil and pad see ew were overpriced for the portion received. I used to love this place when I lived in Chandler 9 years ago. The problem is, I've cleaned up my diet now and avoid toxic seed oils. (Canola and soybean oils are the most common seed oils restaurants use). I tried to order SOMETHING off the lunch menu for dine-in that wasn't prepared using seed oils and nothing was! I asked for them to use butter, extra virgin olive oil, or avocado oil and the waitress told me that wasn't possible after checking with the chefs. I had to walk out without eating anything. It was disappointing but beats feeling terrible after detoxing, and then consuming these unhealthy oils. read more

It was sweet and tangy Tom kha gai- broth was really good , chicken was a little dry tho. Pad see ew with beef : one of my fav dishes Thai basil chicken Crying Tiger : this was the dish that was the most disappointing and the most expensive! A thin piece of steak over lettuce was $29! The steak was bland and didn't have much flavor. They didn't even cut the steak apart for us. Would not recommend that dish and it's overpriced for sure. I do recommend this place to try. I like to post Reviews mostly second or third time around just to see the consistency and taste in the food and service. Yupha's Thai Kitchen has been in its current Tempe location at 1805 E Elliot Rd since 2008. The restaurant was clean from the minute you walk in. The bathrooms were well kept up and clean. I would give them a 5 star on cleanliness. Service was average. Only because I prefer a waitress or waiter with a smile to take my orders, especially if I'm bringing family or a friend from out of town. It just makes for a better experience. Ambience is nice relaxing with a Thai theme throughout the restaurant. As for the food, my appetizers were tasty We ordered spring rolls, the crispy Little mermaids. Order the chef seafood soup was a little disappointed because it was very salty and overbearing, my son ordered the drunken noodles. He as well mentioned they'd salt the food this time around too much.. if you go there, make sure you let them know not to overpower the food with too much salt. I would definitely go back and have a meal there but I would not order the seafood soup or drunken noodles. Let me just say the food is very fresh and appealing. My only advice (if you like any spice) is ask for one level higher than you would normally - mild is like no spice. But once you lock in their spice level; you're golden. read more

The restaurant is cute and very clean. We had no problem getting seated. This was my first time having Thai food and our waitress was the sweetest! She recommended some noodle dishes for me and even explained the heat scale (everything burns hotter during the summer, so she warned us that the spices were higher than normal). I ended up getting the appetizer sampler (my favorite were the curry puffs, they're to die for) and one of the noodles called Kao Soi with chicken (soooooo gooooood). Tried this place again after trying once several years ago. In between we had a favorite Thai place closer by but it since closed. We ordered Thai rolls and Kanom Jeeb (steamed dumplings with ground chicken, shrimp, and imitation crab) to start. The Thai rolls were great - crispy and the bean thread noodles inside were noticeable. The Kanom Jeeb was slightly fishy, which is too bad because I'm always in favor of not getting all fried appetizers (there were very few non-fried options). For entrees we split one order of shrimp Pad Pok (mixed vegetables in house sauce) and one order of Pad See Ewe noodles with chicken. I thought the pad see ewe was excellent with plenty of chicken and an acceptable amount of broccoli. I like when the noodles are a little bit chewy like these, not mushy. The pad pok was good, nothing too exciting. We did order both dishes Mild and confirmed that should have a little spice and we tasted none, so we will definitely opt for Medium next time. I came to Yupha's for a work lunch around 12:30pm. The six of us were sat quickly with waters already on the table. I ordered the lunch drunken noodles with chicken which came with a small side salad and soup. Service was quick to bring our sides after ordering. The peanut dressing on the salad was PHENOMENAL. I wasn't a big fan of the soup, but that's just a personal preference. The meals came out quickly and steaming hot- definitely did not sit under a heat lamp! These drunken noodles were fabulous. The sauce was perfect seasoned, noodles had a great texture, and there was a plentiful amount of chicken. I also enjoyed the tomatoes and bell peppers in the dish which balanced the heaviness of the noodles. The portion was also a great size for me. Saturday night, we had out of town friends come in and we needed a place to catch up. When thai food is always a good option! We needed some place that was central as my family and I were coming in from Ahwatukee from another friend meet-up and our dinner party was driving in from Tempe! In comes, Yupha's Thai Kitchen! I've been here a handful of times and it was always tasty and reliable. Seating was easy and they had a high chair available for my little toddler. We had awesome service! They were very attentive and our entrees came out quickly! Our table ordered green curry (my go-to order) with chicken, pad thai, drunken noodle, spring rolls, and their gyoza! We tried leaving with clean plates, but the portions were big so we all had to go boxes. Very rarely do I have a Thai resturant a 5/5. The food here is excellent. I haven't gone into the physical location but my work is always catering from here and our whole staff loves it. The beef salad was the best, the drunken noodles were bland and tasteless, the curry was so-so. Thai food is my favorite and this place was a disappointment. I ordered ice tea and it had a horrible taste. By the way, there was a shorter lady there that definitely doesn't like her job. She was bothered when you asked her for chili sauce. Will try other places while visiting here. Won't go back. I found Yupha's Thai Kitchen on Google maps while I was getting my bearings for the area. For me the most significant thing about this restaurant is the service. It's next level! I was seated, provided a menu and water almost immediately upon walking inside. I ordered my appetizers, meal and dessert...never having waited too long for each dish nor for the empty plates to be whisked away by anyone on the floor...that include the frequency my glass was refilled with water. It was a team effort, I could see that while not being overbearing. The food was well made, good quality and I dare say innovative. For appetizers I ordered satay which was delicious but when I saw on a table across from me the fresh spring roll, that looking like an herb garden, I had to try for myself a spring roll like I've never had. I'd recommend both these appetizers...the satay more traditional and the spring rolls, innovative...made from a combination of herbs, other greens and citrus. For my main, I ordered " grilled rib eye over dry green curry sauce"...don't let the name fool you there is nothing "dry" about this entree, the rib was cooked perfectly and to my liking...the sauce, I didn't know that I'd call it a "curry sauce" in the traditional sense that I've ever had at a Thai restaurant but 100% delicious. Lastly, dessert, who ever heard of custard being served at a Thai restaurant!? A final culinary display of innovation and creativity...not at all like any custard I've ever had What a find on Google maps!! We came for take-out the other night and rather than order on-line, we choose to drive over and order in person. I love this Thai place!!! Greeted as we walked in, explained that I wanted to order take-out and was handed a menu. I had already written down our order so showed it to her and she transferred it onto her iPad. We did try a new dish! Excited because I'm typically go with what you know but daughter wanted to try the Pra Ram, which is chicken with veggies in a peanut sauce. Ok...we fell in love with another dish! The sauce is light and flavorful, the chicken and veggies cooked to perfection. We also had the Yellow Curry (no spice) with chicken, the Pad Thai with fried tofu (no spice) as well as two orders of the Thai Rolls and one order of the Curry Puff (my absolute favorite!). Ordered some Mango Sticky Rice for dessert (highly recommend when they have it!). Sorry for no photos this time around but trust this Elite...food here is top-notch and you can be a whimp with the spice (like us) or go for the burn you off hot!!! Many friends and family members who live on this side of the Valley love coming to this place. So, whenever we go out to eat with them, we mostly end up coming here. Our favorites that we always order from here are, the chicken satay and the drunken noodles with shrimp. The chicken satay is always juicy and tender, never dry or tough. Their drunken noodles always have the perfect amount of smokiness combined with a good kick of spice to it. Though we stick to our favorites, I try to order at least one dish here each time that I haven't tried before on their menu yet. So far, out of all the dishes I've tried, I've found my favorites to be, ped gaeng daeng and the goong ob woon sen. I was really impressed that they use crispy duck in their ped gaeng daeng, this difference from how it's usually prepared really made a memorable impact, something about this change in texture was pleasing. If you're newer to eating Thai food, this place is a great introductory to the cuisine! For a Thai place, I would say that their spice levels are friendly and accurate. Some Thai places spice levels can run on the higher side but, their mild is actually mild, their medium spicy is actually medium, etc. Whenever we come here, they are always busy, but that doesn't seem to slow their service at all! Yupha's Thai Kitchen has been a favorite go to spot of mine for years! Was out with my son and we were getting hungry and I suggested we head over to Yupha's for lunch. After checking out the menu I went with Pad Prew Wan lunch special. The lunch special comes with soup, salad with a warm peanut sauce dressing which is plate lickin good and a fried spring roll, I went with chicken for my Pad Prew Wan, and it was sauteed in sweet and sour sauce with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, pineapples, bell peppers, scallions, and some steamed white rice. It got it on the spicy side because spicy sweet is my favorite taste combo. The service was great, and the food was delish as always.
