Located on the East side of Higley Rd facing the street. It's in a small Strip Mall surrounded by several medical businesses. Signage is visible in the parking lot. Parking There are some Handicapped spaces by the door and others shared by neighboring businesses. We arrived when spaces were empty. Ambiance Bare bones 2/5 Small order counter just inside the door with an open galley Kitchen visible behind the counter. A steep staircase on the right leads to the indoor dining area. The loft has a small two seat table, a four seat picnic table and a long bar counter that can accommodate 4-5 if your very friendly ; ) There are 2-3 additional tables outside in-front. Food Food was served fast. 5/5 It came with plastic utensils and styrofoam take home containers. Very fast Foodie. We ordered Thai Tee, Yellow vegetable Curry. The Drunken Noodles were ordered Crazy Hot Thai spice level ! The Thai Tea flavor was ok 3/5 My wife's Yellow Curry tasted more like a Pineapple Curry, very sweet and light in color. I enjoyed the flavor but agreed it wasn't Yellow Curry. 2/5. Pad Kee Mao, (Drunken Noodles) was excellent. I ordered them Thai extremely hot . Complex flavors were spot on and that Crazy Hot Thai level of spice is the way I roll ! 5/5 . Desert was the classic Mango sticky rice and moved to the top of my wife's Coveted #1 Position! 5/5++ Service Excellent service. 5/5 We had our order delivered to our table upstairs by one of the staffs darling 10 yr old family member. Kudos to Mom for teaching her. Given the large number of Thai restaurants in the Valley with atmosphere, seating etc this missed the mark. However if you're happy with Thai fast food for takeout or atmosphere isn't your thing this might fill your needs.

We wanted to get some Thai food for Friday lunch and found this family owned place in Gilbert. The set up in the inside is cute and you have to order and be seated. The restaurant is very home style and you can go get your napkins, water on your own. They do not have a lunch menu but the pricing is very reasonable. We went with cashew chicken and pad see ew with tofu. The food arrived fresh and the quantity was really good. We went with a 3 spice level and it was perfect. We really enjoyed the food and there was some left to take home as well. This is going to be our to go Thai place, good food and service. What more do you look for?

We stopped in for a random lunch, and although the location is convenient, the staff is so kind and the ambiance and service was great, this gets 3 stars because the food was average at best. Ranking in order, the Pad See Ew was the best, it was steaming hot and you could tell was very fresh. The flat noodles were a bit over done and the flavors were just flat. Next was the Ta Lew roles (vegetable egg rolls) they were good, but a bit mushy inside. I like a vegetable egg roll that you can clearly define the cabbage etc and this one was just kind of, crunchy on the outside and mushy inside. Lastly, the sweet and sour chicken was the least favorite. The chicken was rubbery a bit? Seemed possibly like it was boiled and then cooked with the sauce (which was super runny). Just not the best. Again.. cute place, and the staff were so sweet! We maybe missed the mark on ordering and should have tried a curry but, we probably won't return.

Fresh and yummy! Got the fried rice, crab puffs, and yellow curry. All of it tasted so fresh and a good kick. I asked for medium spicy. Friendly staff. Easy for take out vibes.

I'd like to share, this place is a TO-GO-ONLY. They have I believe 2 tables outside, I believe they were black metal tables, not comfortable seating in this heat. I recommend ordering in advance and then going to pickup. The food was alright, but not for the cost. The Thai teas had A LOT of condensed milk in them, they were extremely sweet. If they can just cut back half of what they put in, that would suffice. I got the pad Thai and wonton soup, the wonton soup was pretty big, it had wontons and chicken and vegetables in it, it wasn't bad. My Pad Thai was average. I enjoyed it more when it got cold, I'm just weird like that. My S.O. Got Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle) and sticky rice with mango. She didn't really enjoy the pad kee mao, barely touched it. But she really liked the stickey rice with mango. We weren't huge fans of this place, we probably won't try again.

I tried out Ta Lew's second location for lunch and it was on par with their first location. I ordered the pad see ew. A little dry with the chicken and sauce but the flavor was right. Good portions. I'll definitely order a curry next time since everyone eating there was having a variation of what curry was offered. The Thai ice tea was refreshing, had perfect ratios and was tasty. I also ordered the sticky mango rice. Mango wasn't great but sticky rice was perfect. Coconut milk accompanying the rice was tasty. All in all, would definitely be back and will try their drive through option next time.

So they not offer chicken satay anymore ? I didn't see available to order online.

    No. They stopped offering it.

Do they have good vegetarian/ vegan options?

Yes! Curry with tofu is my fav but you can also get any of the noodle dishes vegetarian.

It's been…read moreabout 1-2 years since I've last eaten or ordered from here and decided to order to go for dinner. The web link on Yelp didn't work so I used menu photos from Yelp. 1. Item M14 -Gang Kiew Waan Roti from the photos says it's served w/ roti. But we were charged an additional $3 for roti, which was not mentioned to me when putting in the order. Only after we received our order and saw the receipt did I check Google. Web link on Google works and it appears they changed the name of the item and removed roti from the name. 2. To go portions are small for the price. Chicken larb was enough for like 2 people and had only one piece of lettuce. Papaya salad was also small and 1/2 the container was garnishes (carrots/cabbage). 3. For a noodle soup, any other place would put noodles separate from its broth. My khao soi came all in one container. Forgot to take a photo while it was in the container but there's an old photo of it somewhere on Yelp. 4. Crab fried rice had barely any crab. 5. There was no white rice. Places usually provide some white rice regardless if you order fried rice but I guess that's an extra charge here. 6. We ordered medium spicy for majority of the dishes because one person can't handle spicy but everything came out mild tasting. Even my khao soi, which I ordered hot spicy level, came out mild. 7. Thai tea was missing. After ordering, I asked the person on the phone to read back my order to me. She listed everything I had ordered including the thai tea. But after the order was picked up (not by me), the thai tea was not included in the order. It's a bit out of the way from here to there so no one is going to drive all the way back to get it. I went elsewhere close by for the thai tea. Order w/current pricing from their site: Tom Kha Chicken (med) $18 Thai Papaya Salad (med) $14 Larb Chicken (med) $16 Green Curry w/Ckn Zucchini Eggplant (M14 Gang Kiew Waan Roti) $20 Roti $3 Khao Soi $17 Crab Fried Rice (mild) $25 Thai Iced Tea $4.50

The basil chicken had almost no basil flavor at all. I only found a single basil leaf in the entire dish, which took away from what should be a signature ingredient. The Tom Yum soup was fine, but not memorable, and the spice level across both dishes was surprisingly mild for a Thai restaurant. Based on my experience, the strong reviews here feel a bit overstated. I was hoping for more authentic flavor and seasoning than what was served.

It's a clean, small mom and pop with open style booths down one side and a couple small tables towards the front. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us immediately and offered to sit wherever we like. We ordered fresh spring rolls which were very good, nice and fresh and large. The peanut dipping sauce was excellent. I tried the pad Thai and my mom tried the drunken noodles. I ordered 3/5 or "hot" and she ordered 0/5. The pad Thai was a bit wet, it could have used a bit less sauce. It was almost a soup. The noodles were good but there unfortunately was almost no spice. I was pretty disappointed, as I was really looking forward to sweating from some good Thai spice. 3/5 should be hot, not mild. Was the weakest "hot" I've ever had. I've had many 2/5s elsewhere that were far hotter.

The hosts are super friendly and felt lot of positivity entering in. Given the development of egg allergy I am limited to very few options at Asian restaurants. But to my surprise they had an option of removing the egg from the fried rice. So we got the usual pineapple chicken fried rice (forgot to post it) it's definitely a comfort having that. We got the crab puffs and a unique curry (don't skip on this one, I haven't had this anywhere else) the evil jungle princess..it's got shredded cabbage, mushrooms and chicken in coconut milk (that's all too it!) it was amazing! I didn't want the jasmine rice so they give you an option to swap for other things, I went with the steamed rice noodles (oh wow!) that entire combo was amazing! Paired it with the unsweetened cold green tea. We wanted something simple and non- experimental and were glad this place is so close, and the food is just amazing here! Nothing super fancy just good Thai comfort food! Good options of appetizers, mains, noodles, combos, curry's and desserts. To my surprise they even do vegan, gluten free and egg-free which is a plus!

Ta Lew...what to say…read more.. Clean, friendly staff, comfortable environment and relaxing music, good initial signs. I ordered the red curry chicken with a hot spice level, the usual as you'll know a bite of hades is in order. A fellow diner who ordered moments before us got the food first and was practically done by the time mine and my other diners food came. Granted they were getting busier and as such I can't hold that as a gripe against them. The food itself, meh. Presentation wasn't bad, but the floating red oil was slightly off putting. The chicken was pretty good and was accented by the flashing neon of green peppers and flare orange carrots. Yet the LEGION of bamboo shoots was quite overpowering. The curry itself was not hot (taste) in the slightest, I'd personally pinpoint it as a mild. The curry itself shared much the same flavor as the rice, garlic and sweet notes while lacking the creaminess/thickened texture of a non-soupy curry. Yes, the rice taste was...off. Overall I was not a fan. It's not bad, it just wasn't great. As stated before, the staff was really nice and the place was well cared for, positives for sure. And of course as always this is simply ONE of many menu items and just because this wasn't a winner, it doesn't mean they don't have one. But, I personally wouldn't endorse them on the curry.

We learned the ownership changed about 1.5 years ago, furthermore they had recently lost some staff. The service was slow, so please be patient and plan accordingly. We started our meal with the lettuce wraps appetizers. A fun and interactive dish where you build the wraps with Iceberg lettuce leafs and spoon ground seasoned chicken mixture with shiitake mushrooms, chestnuts, onion and garlic. It was a nice start to the meal, although good, not great. We ordered the Tom Kaa soup medium heat and Pad See-Ew Thai hot heat as our mains. The Tom Kaa soup is a coconut lemongrass soup which was our favorite, although we would request extra lemongrass as it was lacking. The Pad See-Ew was good, but lacked depth of flavor and heat, furthermore the dish and portion was smaller. See previous review. It was a mixed dining experience and leaves me feeling a little disappointed as Chon Thai Food is not that special restaurant any longer it seems. We will likely return at some point but can't say I'm excited.
