If I could give more than 5 stars, I totally would! And, if I write a review on the same day/night that I go to a restaurant, it means you MUST check it out ASAP!!! It actually rained tonight here in AZ and as I drove home from work, my mind kept thinking "pho!" I drive past a pho place every night and just my luck, they are closed on Wednesdays, smh!!! All good, nothing Yelp can't fix right? Off I went searching for pho restaurants on my Yelp app. Thai Boat Noodles is the second place that popped up. My friend who's visiting for a few days called me as I was approaching home and asked if I wanted pho. Great minds think alike, so I scooped him up and off we went around the corner. No one was inside when we sat down, but let me tell you... I'm GLAD because we got the red carpet treatment!! I read a review that mentioned dumplings and pho, so I told my friend and we were stoked, thinking we could get dim sum AND pho. As we looked at the menu, we realized that review must have been mistaken because we didn't see any dumplings or pho on the menu. At first, I was disappointed. However, that feeling quickly dissipated. We ordered the Thai Chicken Fried Wings to share and we were blown away! They were perfectly crisp on the outside and steaming hot and fully cooked on the inside. They came with a sweet sauce to dip/drizzle and it was the perfect portion to share. We then ordered the Boat Noodle Soup. I ordered mine with beef and no spicy, whereas my friend ordered with mild spice and beef. They offer 4 sauces that are conveniently located on each table: chili flakes, fish sauce, sugar and a spicy vinegar with a baby kick, lol! It was was super filling and I left nothing in that bowl! As you can see from my picture, my friend is a WASTER!! OK, this is the part where you just need to stop reading this review and GOOOOOO!! I've never been to Thailand, so I can't compare, but I was shook!!! The broth was made fresh, just like the wings, and it was very flavorful! They give perfect portions, too. My mouth did the happy dance! We spoke briefly with the owner Pong, and he mentioned he and his wife run the place by themselves. While he runs the front of the house, she runs the back. You gotta love small local business owners! This is a cute place to go to for a quick and super satisfying home cooked meal. Prices are very reasonable and there is accessible parking in the lot right in front. Support this local small business!! Show them some love and you will leave with a happy belly! We sure did. TL;DR good food and service with a surprise credit card fee It wasn't busy when we arrived at 5:30PM on a Wednesday, but got busier shortly after. Plenty of seating for small groups, tables can be pushed together to accommodate larger parties. Dining area was clean with a TV to watch and decore to admire. We ordered the Papaya Salad, Panang Curry, Thai Chicken Wings, Chicken Boat Noodle Soup. It was all good! 10/10 In terms of spiciness, for me the medium was barely tolerable and the mild was barely there. I recommend getting mild and adding chili that's on the table. I was about to give 5/5 stars until I noticed a credit card fee on the bill. I won't be coming back because of this.
FRESH OFF THE BOAT Thai Boat Noodles PS may rock the boat amongst the valley's Thai restaurants. This is not your dime a dozen Thai restaurant that serves the typical curry variety , pad thai and tom yum. This place has some authentic, home style dishes that can transport your palate down the rivers of Thailand. If you are a REAL foodie, this is the type of place you want to stumble upon, where you will find unique and tasty dishes that are not common fare. Legendary Anthony Bourdain was big proponent for noodles and Southeast Asian cuisine because of his love for the simple ingredients, yet complex flavors. He explained how the food was a perfect mix of salty, sweet, sour, tangy all balanced within the dish. The flavors here were no exception and was perfectly perfect. THAI BOAT NOODLES- Fortunately you have multiple options for your spice level, noodles, and protein, as well as other add- ins, so you can get whatever floats your boat. I chose LEVEL1 heat because I can't handle spicy, and LEVEL1 was just right with a little kick. I went with chicken and vermicelli noodles. The soup was warm and hearty and hit the spot. Great alternative to Pho or Ramen or Beef Noodle soup if you are getting tired of those. PORK LIVER SALAD- salty and tangy to level out the pungent onion and bitter iron flavor of the liver. It was somewhat heavy but refreshing at the same time. The liver was very mild actually, compared to cow liver. If you can eat Bun Bo Hue, you will stomach this, no problem. I do wish the cabbage was cut up more to make it easier to eat as part of the dish. THAI TEA- it was heavy on the tea and very sweet the way it was made that day. I like mine more creamy. Next time I will definitely request different proportions. For those timid to venture into the unknown, they do have a curry dish, pad thai, fried rice, and drunken noodles that may be a safe choice and more familiar to your taste buds. The cool thing is that there are fresh herbs growing right outside the entrance of the building, that I assume are used in the dishes? Can't get any fresher than that! And you thought it was just for decoration. The other big reason to eat here is to SUPPORT LOCAL, support SMALL BUSINESS. This place has somehow been able to survive this cursed site thus far, where no restaurant has been able to stay in business. I feel like this place has their niche serving great food and customers would be coming in by the Boat load if at a more prime location. I hope Thai Boat Noodle PS stays afloat. This diamond in the rough needs to be discovered.
This place was so cute and cozy! I love the variety offered here. I got a pad Thai and it tasted so good! It was so good and affordable for a cute place in. They offer a build your own bowl, and endless appetizers. These were so good. The service was very quick and homie. Absolutely loved this place. Will definitely be back
My wife and I came here for a later dinner. We came right before closing and they were still nice enough to accept our sit down order before the kitchen fully closed. We were the only ones there. The good: we locked the Thai boat noodles & drunken noodles. They give you the option to choose your own noodles as well as your protein. There is a dry noodle and soup version of this dish. The soup was very flavorful The bad: not much other than pricing on the Thai green tea. $6 is crazy for something that's probably just powered.
The boat noodle soup is so good here!! I like how you get to build your own bowl with the types of noodles and protein you want in it. The drunken noodles was very flavorful and also excellent! It was my first time having Thai Green Tea and it was super delicious! Nice artworks on the wall. Seating available indoor and plenty of parking spots. Service was excellent!

Thai iced tea 3/5 - needed more of the tea flavor Thai iced coffee 3/5 - needed more of the coffee taste Tiew hang 3/5 - it was just okay, my 1st time trying this dish. Maybe it needed a side of lime or something but I felt like it just tasted sweet and bland. The food was just okay, service was okay.
Great find in Arizona. Not too many spots anywhere let alone here specialize in boat noodle. Service was great. They were short staffed and they let us know before ordering but food still came out on a timely matter Thai boat noodle was delicious. Make sure u add some vinegar with the chili and a dash of fish sauce. Great flavor. Blue crab papaya salad. Really good. I wish I did order it extra sour. Overall authentic flavors. They didn't hold back on this one Fried chicken wings. Done very well. Not dry. Great size wings Not too small like some spots Bamboo salad. Surprised they had this. And it was excellent. Date night landed us at this unique Thai restaurant that offers boat noodles. We arrived around 6pm and the place was not busy until midway through our meal. We shared the papaya salad with medium heat. Whew! This was definitely on the hotter side but we finished it! It's one of those heats that is burning your mouth but it's so good, you eat more if it! Then we had the Thai chicken wings...probably one of the best crispy wings I've had! This beats all the local wings I've had. It comes with a love chili sauce and cabbage salad. For entrees we got the panang curry with tofu. Also one of the best fried tofu in a dish that had a good amount of it. The curry itself was flavorful. We got mild on this one and it wasn't spicy at all. Lastly, the star of the show, was the boar noodles. Super rich with flavors of herb and irony. IYKYK! We got it with rice noodles, chicken wig mild spice. Delicious! They do offer different noodles and protein if your choice. Downside is they charge for credit cards. I'd recommend using cash!
This place has been on my "must try" list for the boat noodle soup. Finally, I was in the area and met my friend for lunch, did not disappoint. Not having been here before, the location was a little hard to find, tucked away in a strip mall. The place is small, very nondescript decor. The husband and wife work there, very friendly. When you enter, there is a table with the menus, chopsticks and straws, take them and get a table. Service is fast and the place is clean and because of that, there were a lot of customers coming and going during the lunch hour. My friend and I ordered the same dish,. The boat noodles with beef and original rice noodles at a mild level of spiciness. They give you a great condiment tray of hot pepper, fish sauce, sugar and chili vinegar if you need extra. My soup came out first, though I would of thought they would come out same time as I waited for my friends to be delivered before I started to eat. which ment mine was losing steam. The flavor of the broth was so savory, so good. The meat was tender. I'm not a fan of Asian meatballs, but these were really good. I will definitely be back for the boast noodle soup and to try the other dishes. Atmosphere: plan not fancy but clean. Service: excellent. Food: excellent
I was craving Thai Boat Noodles ever since my friends and I were talking about it. I've tried theirs before when they were at the pop up location in Chandler but have not been to their new location here until last night. It took me a minute to find them. They are right next to Filiberto's. I've had boat noodles before at other restaurants and have even made it at home a few times the past! It's different than other noodle soups you would normally see and has a different flavor too. I recommend trying it at least once! For a picky eater like me, many are surprised that I eat this broth because of one ingredient it uses (I'll let you Google it haha). There are Vietnamese noodles soups that use the coagulated cubes that I won't even eat, but this broth uses the liquid version. It adds richness to the broth. My order: Thai Boat Noodles Noodles w/ beef $16 -regular rice noodles -no bean sprouts -spice level: HOT Thai Papaya Salad $13 -spice level: HOT The boat noodle was delicious! Comes with some greens, sliced beef and homemade beef meatballs. Also comes with chili vinegar and chili flakes on the side. I used the entire container of chili vinegar. Gave it a nice balance in flavor. The papaya salad was also delicious and spicy! Wish the portion was bigger though. The owner was really nice and chatted with me a bit. He said that in about 3 weeks, they will be adding more stir fry items to their menu like Pad See Ew, Pad Thai and more!
We ordered boat noodle soup and boiled chicken rice. I liked the boat noodle soup! It's really flavorful, the rice noodle soaked with the rich broth was sooo good, the amount of meat inside was also generous. The chicken rice was with sticky rice, the chicken was tender, and the rice was full of chicken oil flavor but still refreshing. The spring rolls were good but not too special, there's (I think) only veggies inside. The staff was kind and friendly.

What a hidden gem! This was the perfect meal for a chilly day! The owner was super nice and answered any questions we had about the food. I usually get Thai hot for my spice level at Thai restaurants so that's what I ordered but this place was on another level. It was really spicy! I deducted a star because first impression of the soup looked a bit oily, fatty to me. It's a bit hard for me to drink the broth when I see that. It could have been the appearance from the chili oil maybe? Not too sure but maybe next time I'll try the milder flavor to see if it gives that same impression read more

This place is a true authentic Thai spot. They serve stuff that other Thai restaurants don't dare to. They specialize in boat noodles, but they have things from fermented bamboo salad to the traditional fermented crab papaya salad. They are a mom and pop shop and truly put out incredible flavors and quality of food. read more

Amazing food and awesome staff. This restaurant hasn't been around for very long but the food is very tasty. Very few Thai Restaurants perfect Larb Salad in my opinion. I must say the Larb salad is by far my favorite. Support your local restaurant and check them out. read more
Oh my gosh, where do I begin?! Everything I tried, as a first timer, was beyond exceptional AND authentic. It was so good, I forgot to take pics (although I do have one of the Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango). I'll be back again, so I will update with more photos in the future. Thai Boat Noodle is a diamond in the rough. Don't let that fool you, though. The space may be small, but the food is mighty. Only open on Sundays and Mondays, but it'll have you craving their dishes every day of the week! I recommend the Pork Boat Noodles, Homemade Grilled Meatballs, and the Thai Iced Tea. And absolutely don't forget dessert! The Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango was a great ending to an unforgettable meal. This place deserves a lot more reviews because it's insanely good! I almost don't want to share just how good they are, in fear of this place getting packed, but they definitely deserve the recognition and could use the patronage. So what are you waiting for? Where to begin...so many good things to say. We began frequenting this place when they were subleasing out of Thailys restaurant in Chandler. We were blown away..the robust & authentic flavors of the soup had taken us aback as if we were in Thailand...no really this is how I'd imagine the food to be. The restaurant quickly became a staple in our weekly lunch restaurant rotations, & typically eat here 2-3 times a week. My usual go to- beef boat noodle soup is loaded with flavor and aroma that will take your senses through the streets of Thailand. I love that they throw in pieces of chicharron, it really makes the perfect touch. Their menu is small & simple with a few offerings aside from the soup, which I think is great as it allows them to truly focus on their speciality- boat noodle soup of course! Treat yourself to a refreshing bamboo salad if you're feeling leafy and be sure to leave room for dessert! The sticky mango rice is insanely good. The owners themselves are wonderful and truly take pride in serving you authentically good food. Please be patient with them as they are navigating the hoops of a running a new restaurant. It was a spiritual experience. We've been in a Thai food rut and nothing was hitting the spot. This really got me. The papaya salad was easily the best I've ever had. The fish saucy-lime duo was to die for. I drank the sauce. We did the Thai papaya salad but we will definitely be back to try the Laos papaya salad. We did the spice level as hot and it was beautifully spicy. It's difficult to find places that really honor the spice level. We also got the Thai boat noodle soup with egg noodles and chicken. The broth was smooth and flavorful, a little sweet which I dug big time. We ordered drunken noodles and that was my only qualm. The flavor paled a little bit compared to the other two dishes bursting with flavor and spice. I could've done more of that spiced basil flavor. The mango sticky rice was genuinely heavenly. I shed a tear. Not my proudest moment. The service was very quick and very friendly! Loved the guy, super chill dude. Restaurant was clean and fairly empty, which made me sad... More people should be coming here! We will absolutely be back. We will also be doing their Thai hot king/queen challenge so look for us on the wall. Love love love this place. read more

First time trying this place out after hearing about it from some friends. They share the same space with Thaily's during the off days. Food was great, broth was slighly sweet, but after adding a bit of fish sauce it balanced it out perfectly. Spice level was pretty hot for medium spiciness, I was sweating bullets by the end of the meal. They make the meatballs themselves and they were tender, juicy, and had great consistency. Some things that could probably be improved would be add just a bit more food and give some pork cracklings to add to the soup. read more

Me and my friend were hungry and wanted to try something new. We decided to give this place a try and we were in a hurry because this place was going to close around 9pm but got there around 8:30. The Service was excellent and the gentleman that was serving us let us stay to dine in. The Food is awesome and so delicious and flavorful. We wanted to try everything but we felt bad about coming in so late so we told the server that we would come back again to try out the rest of the menu.
