The first time we went, we were exited and satisfied by the variety and selection, although we agreed the price was a little high. They had a great selection, including sushi, seafood, desserts, soups, noodles, etc. but the second time we came we all agreed that it was too expensive overall, & it didn't quite "hit" like round one. So I've been coming here since I was a child basically, its typically my go to buffet. But man the last few times I have come in I've been disappointed. The grilled section most of the meat is extremely tough or really chewy now , it's like the grade of meat has gone down and lacks flavor. The sushi area didn't have a variety like they use to and the front half was closed down. From the time we got there a little before 7:00 p.m. to when we left around 8:45, the crab legs were empty til about 8:30. So in the almost two hour time frame, the crab legs got restocked ONCE. Such a disappointment, esp since everyone rushed to grab some, so alot of people didn't get a chance to eat any. Luckily my son was able to get four clusters for the table to share. Our server wasn't attentive at all, had to ask him for napkins multiple times, ask for water refills , and no crab leg crackers or anything was given to us. Although I guess that last one didn't matter too much this time since there weren't really any crab legs that were offered. Our bill was around $76 for two adults two kids and this time definitely did not feel like it was worth it. We arrived during dinner time, yet were told it "wasn't dinner yet" and were charged extra even though their own website clearly says otherwise. Instead of honoring what THEY advertise, they tried to upsell us at the door. No apology, no accountability, just "pay more or leave." That alone killed any desire to eat there. For those with peanut allergies, be careful there is a huge container of roasted peanuts in the sushi area. I love clams and was excited to see they had them, but they were not very warm. The mussels were good. There was a lady that kept refilling it. Overall, the buffet food was okay. I would go back if invited by friends and family. It was either a really good Monday dinner service, or Pacific Seafood improved greatly! They had a paint refresh on the building, had more staff than what we were used to, and had a great selection tonight. Everything was cooked fresh and they were really keeping track of the food so it was on rotation. The Asian buffet near us stopped serving a few items, and I knew Pacific would still have them. Do not recommend. First of all, when you walk into the entrance, it is filthy! Garbage cans overflowing outside entrance, trash littered all over sidewalk. If they don't manage the cleanliness of what you first see, I question the kitchen and the lack of care throughout. The food is below average even though there is quite a variety of choices, most of which I would not venture to eat! Service is marginal with staff that is hardly friendly. They would be well suited to slap down trays at an institution or a prison. Ambience is on par with a school cafeteria located in a gym. The service consists of someone showing you to a seat and asking what you drink followed by an occasional server to pick up empty plates. Dinner was around 22 bucks with a Diet Pepsi. My family used to eat here a lot over a decade ago. I had not been back until recently when a family member chose to have lunch here for their birthday. Lunch was decently priced at $14.99 for adults on weekdays. There were a couple of seniors in our group, and they received a 10% off Seniors discount. I like sushi, but didn't try any there. I was a little nervous given some other reviews that mentioned food poisoning (though they didn't specifically call out sushi). My family ate the cooked rolls and were okay. I enjoyed the stir-fry dishes - one with eggplant, another with tofu and bamboo shoots. The orange chicken was just okay. I liked the roasted chili chicken. It had some really crispy skins too. I love string beans, so I went back for that a couple of times. There is also a noodle station where you can build your own bowl, then they'll stir fry it for you. For dessert, there were little cakes and individual cups of ice cream. I didn't have any dessert, but I like that the ice cream comes in individual pre-packaged cups for sanitary purposes. The staff were very quick with picking up our finished dishes. There was one staff member that was constantly monitoring the food and reporting back to the kitchen to ensure they kept the food trays full. Definitely went above my expectations! I liked the smaller feel of this buffet, not like it was packed or people waiting after one another. Also felt like that kept the food quality higher. The staff was very friendly, keeping our table cleared away and refilling our drinks. The stations were super clean as well. All the food I had was great, it was a buffet of course so there's going to be things that arent perfect (bbq pork was very dry, fried calamari was more boiled than fried) but everything was hot and had great flavor. When choosing all you can eat buffets, I think you have to be realistic about what you are trying to achieve versus what is realistically possible. And with that declaration, I will say that Pacific seafood buffet definitely delivers as long as your expectations are realistic. And I would even argue that even if your expectations aren't realistic, they do a pretty damn good job delivering the goods when it comes to variety. While this is not a sushi buffet focused concept, they have a lot of great premade rolls sashimi and nigiri available around the sushi bar along with all the accompaniments that you would need to just eat sushi if that's what you desire. But they have far more selection than just those items. In addition to that they seem to be primarily known for their fresh crab legs, shrimp, and other seafood, but I honestly found those items to be some of the less interesting and less flavorful items available in the restaurant. As with any of these crab leg based, buffet's, the crab legs stayed empty, or mostly empty with you, having to special request some from your server, or at least notification from one of the cooks on when the next batch was going to be dumped. Again, as long as your expectations are in line, this is probably not a big deal for you. It wasn't for us. What I really like about this spot is the level of delicacies they offer which are clearly targeted to a primarily native Asian audience but for foodies like me, who like to venture out and try new things, this is a great way to do it without having to feel like you wasted your money on one dish that you may or may not end up eating. And while they encourage you to eat the food you take off of the buffet, they are not militant about it and don't hesitate to clean plates off of the table or refill your drinks, which is something we really appreciated. I've been a regular customer at PSB for about 5 or 6 yrs. The prices were always fair averaging about 36-40 bucks for 2 people depending on the day of the wk - A little more on weekends. I've never had any issues with the food or service. However... I recently had dinner at PSB with a friend for the first time in 2-3 months. The food was horrible !!! Only 1 kind of chix item - orange chix - which was full of fat and grizzle. The beef/broccoli tasted like a piece of rubber and the broccoli was undercooked. But... what bothers me most is how they changed their pricing. From just over 40 bucks to nearly 60 !!! The food has gotten worse and the prices do not justify eating here. PSB has lost 2 customers for life !!! Avoid this place. Do not eat here !!! read more

Let's start with the good. The staff are super nice and the atmosphere is welcoming. As nice as the staff are, they aren't very attentive. I went alone and was basically ignored after being seated. I had to flag someone down to ask for a refill on my drink. It's a self-serve buffet... all you have to do is refill drinks. I don't know if I'm missing something, but I felt like they just weren't at all observant of their guests - namely me. The food? It's ok. It isn't great, but it isn't terrible. Most of the ones in the Tempe and Eastern Phoenix area we had already tried and were disappointed by them, so we didn't have high expectations for this one. We were wrong! This is a large restaurant with big seating capacity. First thing I noticed was that all the hot food was steaming hot and the cold food was being kept perfectly. What a nice surprise! I started out on the cold fish area which is supervised at all times. Nicely prepared Mackerel, Tuna, Salmon, all sorts of sushi rolls, inari and some of the hottest wasabi I have ever eaten. On to the hot foods. I counted at least 5 different varieties of shrimp ranging from salt and pepper to coconut shrimp and spicy shrimp. Velvet beef and broccoli, Hot and sour fish, Mussels, Snails, Crabs, assorted Chinese buns and on and on. A large assortment of soups including a nice Hot and Sour with the proper accouterments. Fried chicken, pork ribs, Spring Rolls, and even fresh oysters. Assorted cakes, fresh melons, jello, assorted canned fruits, and assorted ice creams. Prices are higher on the weekends, but there is lots more to try on the weekends. My only ding is that most buffets now have installed televisions in the dining rooms, which I personally could easily do without. Tables were bussed in a reasonable amount ot time and bathrooms were reasonably clean especially considering the amount of people eating this night. 4 stars for good food served at proper temperatures and general cleanliness. This is one of my family's go to spots for buffet for almost ten years now. The service is always nice and friendly. The dining area is cleaner than most other buffet places, and invitingly comfortable with the many booths they have. The variety in food options is great for everyone in the party's differing taste buds. The food is changed out and replenished consistently. Most of the items seem like they haven't been sitting out for too long, and if they have it's pretty noticeable so you're able to avoid them (e.g., some items at the sushi bar & some items near the soup and fruit section). After trying the various options over the years, I'd have to say my favorite dish from here is their salt and pepper shrimp. It's always consistent in seasoning and flavor. A bonus is that the shrimp is NEVER overcooked, an issue I constantly have with salt and pepper shrimp at other places. I could eat three plates of these shrimps alone and be satisfied. However, I will say that some dishes are blander in flavor than others and not worth wasting your time on. If you're a seafood person, this place is great, probably more so on the weekends (at a slightly higher cost) when there is a greater variety of seafood dishes, plus crab legs. If you're not much of a seafood person, then I'd suggest sticking to dining on the weekdays. read more
