I was craving hot pot and noticed Pop Pot & Tea was close. I ordered the popcorn chicken, winter melon lemonade and the Thai Flavor hot pot. The overall taste was good but could use a little bit more flavor. The popcorn chicken was really flavorful and crispy. I was not a fan of the winter melon lemonade it was a little too bitter for my taste. The restaurant was nice and clean. Be careful when asking for soup because the server has to take your whole pot to add more soup.
I came here once when they first open and was underwhelmed. But I recently came here again and had a better experience. I think the food and flavor has definitely improved. I got the Satay Beef Pot and my husband got the Korean Troops Pot. We both liked ours. And we also got the Mixed Fruit Tea and the Winter Melon Tea, which were good. I can't help but compare it to Tasty Pot though. Tasty Pot typically includes noodles in the pot, plus you get an additional vermicelli noodles or rice for free. My Satay Beef Pot at Pop Pot didn't have noodles already included, however my husband's soup has some ramen noodles included. It may just depend on which soup you get. At Tasty Pot, you're able to control the flame under your pot yourself. But at Pop Pot, you need to ask one of the servers to put out the flame. It's not a terrible inconvenience, but you do need to wait until you catch one of the server's attention. Overall my opinion of this place has improved, but I think I still prefer Tasty Pot.
I paid $28 dollars for 2 sausage links and some rice they are overpriced. I normally pay 12 bucks in Los Angeles and get way more food.
My first time here with family. We ordered 4 pots for 5 people. Came with rice or vermicelli noodles. We ordered #1,3,5,10. I liked the Taiwan Spicy Pot the best. It's a little spicy but very good. It's the first time that I had the fried preserved egg, and it's actually not bad, if you are used to having preserved eggs.

The parking lot was small but also shared with Lee Lee's Supermarket on the side. It was busy the first time here and on my latest visit, it wasn't busy on Friday at 6:15pm. It was bright inside so that was good. Their menu had a lot of pictures of the hot pot which was nice and they had the ingredients in each. There was also an appetizer section as well as the drink section. On the first visit, we had the Sukiyaki Pot, the Thai Style Hot Pot, Popcorn Chicken, Classic Milk Tea, and Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea. The Sukiyaki Pot was not bad and their broth was a little bit light in flavor to me. The Thai Style Hot Pot was also the same. The amount of food seemed a lot less than my most recent visit. The Popcorn Chicken was good and both the Classic Milk Tea and Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea were not bad to me. On the second trip, we ordered Korean Troops Pot, Satay Beef Pot and the Fried King Oyster Mushrooms. The Korean Troops Pot was good and the Satay Beef Pot was tasty. The Fried King Oyster Mushrooms were delicious and had the same batter as the Popcorn Chicken. On my last visit, we had the Taiwanese Spicy Pot, the Popcorn Chicken Pot, and also the Fried King Oyster Mushrooms again. The Popcorn Chicken Pot was literally popcorn chicken and the hot pot but it was nice to have two in most one. It tasted good to me and the portion seemed like it was a little more than the last few times we came here. This place was not bad and I'll come to try other things on the menu.

These are individual hot pot but there is a lot of food, enough to share if one wanted. The service was fast and efficient. The spicy taiwanese hot pot was very tasty with all the veggies, fish cakes, meat and noodles. The fried combo was also good and my favorite were the brown rice cakes: crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside!
Food 3/5 I had the Taiwanese spicy pot it was ok it had good flavor but still felt like it was missing a lot of something and didn't had much of a choice in sauces to make up for the missing flavor as well My wife had the beef satay pot and hers was mehhhhhhh af we also had the takoyaki was the best thing we tasted there sadly but delicious!!!! but we stilled enjoyed our meal Service: 5/5 the men who catered to us were really nice and it didn't take long for our food to show up so that was nice Ambiance: 5/5 nice little cozy spot to bring a group so all in all good experience but maybe switch up the flavors a bit

Think fondue but with soup instead of cheese! I finally popped back in for some hot pot. I came with a party of five and got myself a winter melon tea with fresh milk and a cilantro & preserved egg hot pot. The table shared some fried stinky tofu and some fried century eggs. No complaints here. I really enjoyed my cilantro & preserved egg hot pot and that dipping sauce they offer at the table was so tasty. I could use that sauce on everything! As for the appetizers of fried stinky tofu and fried century eggs, while good, they're not necessary. Neither item was strong and robust in flavor despite being stinky tofu and century eggs! So yeah! Solid hot pot spot!
Hot pot is my comfort food, so I was surprised to find authentic Taiwanese hot pots in Chandler ! I got the house special pot and my family ordered satay beef pots, we all loved it! We also ordered the popcorn chicken, tempura fish cake, and giant chicken steak, all tasted just like the night market street food in Taiwan! The service was friendly! We don't live nearby, but we'll definitely come back whenever we're in the area!
What stands out from other hotpot places were the Taiwanese food items on the menu. As the valley weather gets sizzling hot, it is definitely a great option to have other food items. Stinky Tofu: Don't worry if you're afraid of the smell. It is not stinky at all, but overly fried. It needs moisture in the tofu to taste good. Hopefully, there is room for improvement there. The best part was the pickled cabbage. Fried Chicken Steak Rice: Marinated perfectly and crispy. The minced rice comes with the meal. We also ordered on the side. Absolutely delicious! Pepper Pork Tripe Chicken Pot: Bland broth, but not bad. Sesame Oil Chicken Pot: We clearly told the waitress wanted a mild broth, but somehow got a suicide based broth. We told the waitress but got a response from her it was Taiwanese hot. As the customer, we would know the difference between mild and extremely spicy. Rice Truffle Milk Tea Creama: Ordered with no sugar but got a 70% sweet. Lost in translation even confirmed the order. The drink was okay. TVs Excellent for groups Service definitely can improve!
Tried Pop Pot for the first time because we love hot pot. The concept is very similar to our favorite Tasty pot where you have individual pots. However, this place does not come close and we were highly disappointed. I'm quite surprise by the good reviews on Yelp. The 2 stars are for the nice decor and cleanliness. Service could definitely improve. Although they were nice, I had to get up to ask for things multiple times. We ordered the popcorn chicken, Thai Pot with medium spice, and Beef pot extra spicy. They must have mixed up the spice levels because Thai pot was super spicy and Beef pot had no spice at all. Taste for both pots were pretty bland. The pots did not look anything like the menu picture. It was full of cabbage and broth with one of each topping. Definitely not enough to share. Thai pot and beef both cost the same but beef was smaller. It was definitely not fulfilling for such a high price ($20). Popcorn chicken ($9) was decent size but taste was just OK. Overall, I would not recommend and will stick to our tried and true.

I tried Pop Pot & Tea for the first time and ordered the #13 Satay Beef Pot, popcorn chicken, a noodle side and tea, all for under $40. With rising food prices, I thought it was a great value. The service was excellent, which can sometimes be hit or miss at small casual spots, and the ambience was nice. The broth and ingredients were flavorful, and I appreciated the sauces available at the table. The fire-broiled soup was aromatic without being overpowering. The food did take a little while to come out, and the broth was slightly gritty. Maybe possibly due to the soup I chose. I also noticed the bowls are shallow and packed with meat and vegetables, so there wasn't much actual soup. When I asked about it, I was told additional broth would be an extra charge, which was a bit disappointing. That said and regardless, everything tasted fresh and delicious, and I would definitely come back. read more
Pop offers another excellent option for hotpot, perfect for those cooler months. They also offer other Taiwanese appetizers for those that want something else. I also liked the option to add additional sides to add to the hotpot. As for me, their mixed pot of mushroom hotpot was perfect. It tasted healthy as there were ton of mushrooms with many varieties. It also had some pork and various vegetables. Hubby enjoyed their Taiwanese hotpot with extra spice. Portions are spot on...we saw some couples sharing one. The dining room was very clean and service was excellent. Will return to try more things. We're eyeing their pumpkin hotpot next. They also had the stinky tofu hotpot on the menu. We were excited that another Taiwanese spot opened up in AZ since the only other place to go was Yes Cafe or Tasty Pot! Tbh, hard not to compare them all (although they are different kinds of restaurants too). Made a reso by calling in. Limited walk-ins currently during soft opening. We ordered stinky tofu, fried tempura fish cakes, popcorn chicken, braised pork rice, and the Taiwanese hot pot (#1). Also got a wintermelon lemon tea. About $70 for two people after tax and tip, with a little bit of leftovers to take home. Stinky tofu could be stinkier but it was good enough considering there is no where else to get it. I liked the pickled veggies on the side, wish they gave more since you're supposed to eat the tofu with it. Not enough for each piece of tofu. Fave item was the fried tempura fish cake! Couldn't find that when I lived in the Bay Area. Nice spiced and chewy. Popcorn chicken - liked that they included basil and was fried perfectly crispy, but flavor wise was lacking. Braised pork rice was mostly rice and very minimal pork. $5 for a bowl of white rice mostly. The hot pot was OK. Since Tasty Pot is closer to us I think if we want hot pot we'll just go there lol. Nice that they have stinky tofu though in their hot pot. I get that they're still soft opened but they have been for over a month now I think? I had to ask for water multiple times when the restaurant was only half full. Hopefully this will get better after grand opening. I think we prefer the homeyness of Yes Cafe more. Faster, casual, more affordable and personalized service. We'll come to Pop Pot when we crave stinky tofu and fried tempura and are willing to spend more. Overall not bad and glad there are more Taiwanese places opening up in AZ! read more
I'm baaaack! Upon further taste inspection, I have to say that the true rock stars of Pop Pot are the appetizers. Our table got fried century egg, popcorn chicken, and squid balls to share, and all were pretty authentic and delicious. (Also ty ty for letting us keep a second serving of century eggs when they were mistakenly made!) The servers are so kind and willing to give recommendations. I love that they have flavors not found at their competitor's restaurant, like the cilantro and century egg (which is a lighter broth). My friends loved the Taiwanese hot pot, which comes in a larger serving, as well. Keep in mind that there's a little inconsistency in their spiciness scale. I believe some broths are naturally spicy, so the Taiwanese hot pot at medium was super spicy, while cilantro and century egg at medium was still what I'd consider mild. Previously, my biggest gripe was that the soup endlessly boils, but I learned that you can ask the servers to put out the flame. Still not as convenient as a manual switch, but they've got a tool to help! read more
Update: After the first experience, I have been back a few times but have not had the chance to update until now. I've been back 3 times with different people. Feb 4th: came in with two friends during lunch hours. We were seated pretty quickly but it took forever until someone came to take our orders. My friend asked for water 2-3 times, our teas took a while to arrive, we asked for chili oil 3 times and asked for togo containers and the check 3 times as well. I got the beef satay pot and my friends got the korean troops pot & taiwanese pot. Beef satay was okay. Needs a bit more flavor. My friend said his taiwanese pot was a bit sweet. Other friend said he liked his korean troops pot. There was way too much cabbage in all pots. My friend also ordered the combo appetizer which never came out and turns out the order was never added. I got the rice truffle drink again. That's always good! Feb 10th: came in with a friend for dinner. Service definitely improved this time!! For us anyway. The table next to us left before their food came out. We were seated right away, ordered in a timely manner, food and drinks came out at a good time and the waiter checked on us from time to time. My friend got the korean troops pot and I got the tomato pot. We both liked our pots. The only thing was that there was too much cabbage again. Overall, much better experience! March 4th: came with family. We ordered the cilantro & preserved egg, Thai pot, popcorn chicken pot and korean troops pot. Again, too much cabbage. Thai pot did not look like the the photo and it could use some more Thai flavor. I got the korean troops pot and there was only one piece of spam in there. It was just ok. I think the other two liked their pots. Service was good that night. Drinks took a bit of time to come out but we were checked on from time to time. read more
If you are ever craving hot pot and Taiwanese food, this is the place to be! I love the variety of different hot pot options. My favorite is the sukiyaki, Thai, and curry one. I also really enjoy the pork chop rice plate. The portion sizes are pretty decent and I would get extremely full afterwards. Service is excellent as well! It's overall a nice family restaurant. My only complaint is it's a little pricy, otherwise I would try to eat this everyday. read more
New hot pot spot! They are still having their soft opening. service was okay. Staff very friendly though! During lunch, it comes with an iced green or black tea with each hot pot order. Lots of hot pot options to choose from! The flavors are good, but be warned when it comes to the spice level. I ordered mild and it was too spicy for me. I ordered mild for the house special hot pot. Next time I will get non spicy and ask for chili sauce on the side. They will do soup refills if you ask them. They ran out of the popcorn chicken so I will have to come back again to try it! House Special Pot was my favorite since it had a little bit of everything that I like! Cilantro and Preserved Egg Pot was very good with mild spice. I give this place a 3.5 out of 5... I took some points away bc 1) the hot pot I ordered the Japanese Miso could defin need more "miso" flavor.. it was simple and basic and need more flavoring.. but otherwise it wasn't bad... 2) the service defin could have been better especially since we went close to 3pm and there hardly anyone in there.. maybe 3-4 other tables.. we would have been to Jin Shabu but since we had our daughter and she is limited on what she can eat.. and she doesn't really eat her veggies quite yet... this was nice bc they had fries to order on the side.. the takoyaki.. could have been better.. I've had better.. Just nothing special about it.. but it's a cute and a good audience to the East valley.. more Options to try! read more
We got there almost 7 pm with party of 7, there is no wait. Waiters are friendly but did not come check us after drop off all the foods. I had hot pot and 1st pot come out. Fire keep going even after I finished the foods. Going until I smell burned. I ordered satay beef pot. It's okay. I just regular size. My friend ordered chicken steak. It's actually pretty big and could be shared with 2 light eater. Chicken is crunchy and tender. Which similar to Popcorn chicken. Popcorn chicken.. its have good flavor (more than chicken steak), not spicy or salty. Fried preserved egg (thousand year egg) Interesting dish. It's more bouncy and can't taste weird taste of yolk. Mix fruit drink- not what I thought would be. I thought would be real fruits. Still good not too sweet. read more
Pop Pot was not exactly popping when I arrived for lunch on a weekday afternoon. There were no customers inside, but I decided to give it a try. I was craving a hot pot on a cool wet day. I was impressed with their menu. It consisted of approximately 20 different hot pots. When I ordered, I found out substitutions were not allowed. I was disappointed, of course, but was honestly more alarmed. Were these hot pots already portioned and pre made? I ended up getting a dish that was actually not in my top 5 choices due to the inability to make substitutions. There aren't many vegan options on the menu. I opted for the popcorn chicken hot pot. I would have given a 5 star rating if I was able to customize my hot pot a little more . read more

We are regular customers and visit almost weekly since the soft opening. While the food has always been great, the service and hospitality have signficantly improved since Sam and Demi joined their staff. Each time we are in, Sam and Demi always provide wonderful service/hospitality, and we have noticed the shop has become more efficient. Sam and Demi always take great care of us when we dine here and their great service makes us feel like we are back home in Taiwan . read more

I made ressies for 8 peeps on Sunday at noon. Which is when they opened so we walked in and were seated right away. Plenty of parking up front. Same complex as LeeLee's on its left side. It was freezing when we walked in but assuming to make up for the hot Taiwanese soups we will be slurping? Lols Place is clean, spacious and with a modern feel. Eats- Complimentary cold green or black tea. I had the green tea and I liked it bc it was sweet. But not too sweet. But if you like yours unsweetened maybe ask if that's an option? I had the seafood soup and crispy basil popcorn chicken. Both were flavorful and I liked it. Just wish they offered ramen or rice noodles for the soup. They had rice or vermicelli. I also wish you could adjust the heat on your pots like tasty pot up in Mesa. You either keep it on or turn it off. My friend ordered the house special pot so I was able to try her stinky tofu for the first time. It's def stinky. Lols It was tolerable for me but not my fave. I'm assuming you either love or hate it?! They have a lot on their menu. Besides hot pots, they also have snacks, some rice dishes and boba teas... Service- Since it's still their soft opening I'm sure they are working out kinks. It kind of took awhile to get our food orders, a few of us waited even longer for our food and and they mixed up a couple orders. Hot pot for a cold night! This was a soft opening and was a busy night too!! Tried calling beforehand but no one answered. We drove there to see if it was open. And yes it was. We put in our name and number of people right around 6:45pm and was seated around 7:20pm. Their menu was extensive with a variety of 21 individual hot pots, appetizers , few rice dishes and teas! A cute hippo resembled the food chain. We ordered the popcorn chicken hot pot, sukiyaki hot pot and popcorn chicken appetizer and then a side of tofu and fish cake. For the hot pot you order the type of hot pot you want. Then add any meats where beef is extra $2 charge. Then select spicy level. And then rice or vermicelli noodles. Instant noodles is extra charge. And then add any extra items for the hot pot. Maybe 15 minutes from when we were seated we were given water. A little bit late but again it was busy. The order was taken by tablet ordering from the server/owner. We received our popcorn chicken first and then later came the hot pots. Maybe 30 minutes into eating I noticed that I didn't get my enoki mushrooms and corn. Enoki mushroom was on a recall nationwide so good thing it wasn't served. And then corn was provided after letting them know. Soup broth was added when soup level was low. All the workers were really nice and wanted to make sure everything was good which I appreciated. Overall the evening during a soft open was good. Everyone was hungry for the hot pot opening. I will be back to try more of the other options! read more

We arrived around 11:30am and the place was not too crowded. We only had to wait for about 10 minutes before we got seated. We ordered the popcorn chicken rice plate and the napa cabbage hot pot. Both dishes were delicious and satisfying. The popcorn chicken was crispy and tender, and the hot pot was rich and spicy, and the napa cabbage was crunchy and fresh. The portions were generous and we had some leftovers to take home. The service was good and efficient but unfortunately there were only 2 servers during a busy lunch hour. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. The sauces were already on the table, so we could customize our dishes to our liking. The price was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. We paid about $18 for the hot pot and $13 for the rice plate. I would definitely come back to Pop Pot and Tea and try their other dishes. I think the flavor is better than Tasty Pot, and there's more variety here. If you're looking for a cozy and tasty place to enjoy some hot pot, I recommend Pop Pot and Tea. read more
Fairly new, this hot pot place took over the Magic Noodle restaurant in the Lee Lee's shopping center. Bright and update interior w a wall of TVs. You may need a reservation if you have a larger party. We also went on a Tuesday night around 6pm and they were busy. Lots of variety to choose from so we narrowed it down to: #4 - Popcorn Chicken medium spicy Just the perfect amount of spice and flavoring and I like my dishes spicy! This is a smaller pot but still split-able if you're not that hungry. #10 - Taiwanese Hot Pot medium spicy I think next time around I would opt for extra spice. While the items that came in this pot was great (2 whole shrimp w heads!!) the flavor of the broth was a bit bland. The size of the meal could easily be split between 2 people. Still during the soft opening period but I enjoyed the Popcorn Chicken Hot Pot that I ordered. My table also ordered the Popcorn Chicken appetizer, and it was very good and tasted authentic to chicken you could get in Taiwan. Service was slow but I attribute that to the soft opening and lack of servers. I walked in and instantly could tell Stinky Tofu was on the menu so be warned. If you are sensitive to smells that might be something you want to keep in mind. read more

I was super excited to try this hot pot place but it was quite the let down. The service was not the best we had to grab her attention to ask for something. I'm not sure if they do the refilling of the soup for the hot pots since we did not get it. We got number one and it was very bland not that flavorful. On the other hand, some of the side dishes saved the day. We got popcorn chicken, Taiwanese sausage, and fried tofu. I believe the tofu they used for the dishes is the stinky tofu which I would not prefer. But the popcorn chicken was crunchy and tasty and so was the sausage it was sweet. Interior was nicely decorated and music choice seemed to fit the vibes. I don't recommend this place if you want good hot pot. read more
