Finally found a really good Taiwanese restaurant. I've heard the service can be hit or miss, but honestly my experience was great. This was my first time here and the food was amazing and tasted very authentic. The staff were super nice and friendly, which made it even better. This is definitely going to be my go-to spot for Taiwanese food. My favorite dish was the braised beef noodle soup; so good and really comforting. If you're not super into Taiwanese food but you're dining with someone who is, they also have a section of Americanized Chinese dishes, which is nice for picky eaters. Prices are pretty average, the vibe is casual and welcoming, and I'd 100% come back.

Overall the food was alright. The green bean chili and the west lake minced beef soup were my favorites from the dishes that we tried tonight. The green beans with chili were flavorful and not too oily. The west lake minced beef soup was big and shareable. It was a great way to start off the meal. The boneless diced chili chicken was way too fried and hard. It was nice that it was better pieces of chicken. The crispy noodle had great presentation, but needed more sauce. The Taiwan beef noodle soup was very spicy. It did come in a big bowl so very shareable. Service was good. The restaurant is small, but a good amount of seating available.

Food here was okay. The west lake minced beef soup was my favorite from all the items we ordered. The green beans were good and had a kick of spice. Crispy noodles were very crispy, not enough sauce. Boneless chili chicken was too fried. The Taiwan beef soup was my least favorite. I did not like the taste and it was way too spicy. The aftertaste was not pleasing. Would not recommend this. Service was good. Small restaurant, probably harder to accommodate larger groups.

I love 81! They used to have their business in Tucson, but moved to Phoenix. It was so good, i had to go when I visited. They have a huge variety of food on their menu, and a lo by specials board. One of my friends is vegan and this is our favorite place to eat together. She loves their tofu and so do I! It's super crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Great flavors all around!

This place was recommended by a friend. We came here for lunch with my family. We ordered the Taiwan diced pork rice, that's like a must have in a Taiwanese restaurant. It was very good. Highly recommend. Then we ordered the BBQ Pork and Egg rice, which was just ok. We ordered the Lemon Pepper Fried Tofu, it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I really liked it. Probably would be even better if they had a sauce to dip in. The string beans were good too. Oh, and the scallion pancake was excellent. We didn't try the Taiwan beef noodle this time, but it is supposed to be a must have. Will definitely try next time.

Exceptional food and service. This is a small, unassuming spot that focuses entirely on the food. The Taiwanese and Chinese dishes are genuinely authentic and well-prepared. Despite the tiny footprint, the service is some of the best I've experienced--very attentive and welcoming. It's a real find for anyone looking for a quality meal without the fluff.

We loved everything we ordered at 81 Asian Bistro! We tried the Spicy Duck, which is a rare find, and it was delicious--perfectly prepared with no "meat smell" at all. The Braised Pork Belly was awesome, and the Green Beans with Chilies had the perfect kick. If you're looking for authentic flavors in Chandler, this is the spot!

Just checked this spot out for a friend's birthday. We were very happy with the authentic Taiwanese dishes. We also appreciated that we were able to bring our own cake and they kept it in the fridge for us while we ate. Everything came out perfectly cooked and flavorful. It really hit the spot. You do have to self serve for the soda drinks. But, service was good and the food came out pretty quickly. We especially liked the Golden Brick Salted Egg tofu and Dong Po braised pork belly, though each dish was a hit. Fairly small/cozy inside but clean. You pay up tab the front when done. I'm definitely coming back to try more.

Found this place on Facebook as we were so craving for authentic Taiwanese food while we have had enough American-chinese food. The restaurant looks like a small and family-owned restaurant, interior (especially bathroom) is not attractive but food and service were amazing! They do have a big menu and end up we ordered the fried rice with pork chop, bamboo chicken soup and bittermelon with salted egg. Flavorful and the portion is huge, they also gave customers some pieces of pineapple cake as a little desert and treat. Will definitely come back when visiting Phoenix again.

    Spicy beef shank

The food was quite authentic. I ordered the Taiwanese beef noodle soup, and my wife had the fried chicken with rice. We shared the spicy beef shank. The soup was very flavorful and well spiced, though not too spicy, and the meat was plentiful and tender (very tender!). The spicy beef shank was quite good as well, you could really feel the numbness from the Sechuan peppercorns, but there was not much chili oil compared to what I would usually expect. Still, good flavor and good texture. Overall, the portion sizes were really enormous; neither of us were able to fully finish our meals. Service was very calm, attentive but not badgering. It's a very new restaurant, so they're still figuring out their ambiance, which feels fairly utilitarian, but I'm fine with that. Especially when the food is good! They have some interesting Taiwanese themed decorations on the wall, and some funny signs. We'll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu later.

With rising food prices, I thought it was a great value. The service was excellent, which can sometimes be hit or miss at small casual spots, and the ambience was nice. The broth and ingredients were flavorful, and I appreciated the sauces available at the table. The fire-broiled soup was aromatic without being overpowering. The food did take a little while to come out, and the broth was slightly gritty. Maybe possibly due to the soup I chose. I also noticed the bowls are shallow and packed with meat and vegetables, so there wasn't much actual soup. When I asked about it, I was told additional broth would be an extra charge, which was a bit disappointing. That said and regardless, everything tasted fresh and delicious, and I would definitely come back.

They offer a sort of cook-it-yourself experience where you order up to two kinds of broths, and they bring them to you in a large pot that goes over your tabletop grill. You receive meats from your server, and have access to a self-serve bar of vegetables, noodles, seafood, and spices. Because it is so customizable you can really experiment with flavors and come up with some delightful combinations. I was a big fan of the brisket and octopus in the spicy broth, and my fiancée enjoyed the pork belly in the sweet broth. Both pots also complemented each other quite well! My favorite part of the ambiance was the privacy curtains. Because tables are all next to each other I imagine it would be easy to see what other diners are doing, but the curtains add a sense of privacy that made us feel like we were almost dining alone. Our service was also excellent. We had several people working in the restaurant come by during the meal to make sure we had all the broth, water, and meats that we wanted. Definitely try Jin Shabu! I actually…read morejust realized that I'm not even sure if this is the correct location but since I live in Gilbert, I'm going to assume this was the one that was delivered to me. Either way, The food we received was the bomb.com! We were hanging out and watching movies on a Saturday while my lady was nursing a bit of a cold. She wanted something in the chicken noodle soup family, and after a bit of back-and-forth, we decided to look for Ramen or pho. Now that's where the start started, but that's clearly not where it ended. After a couple of different searches, we found kung fu noodle And simply picked it based on a combination of the pictures, the reviews and the fact that they have several noodle soup options that looked really appealing. Ultimately, we ended up ordering the spicy beef noodle soup, and the house special noodle soup along with their dumplings, crab Rangoon's and fried rice. Now, usually I skip straight to the review of the food at this point, but I have to give them one additional compliment. This place goes the extra mile in terms of making sure the delivery experience is Extra level. Starting with their packaging, which, for someone who is infatuated with great design, they really do a great job of driving home the full brand experience! Not only were the package is aesthetically, pleasing and artistic in some cases, but they were also very functional as well with all of the plastic containers having sealed lids that had to be broken open for the first time by us. This was just extra assurance that our food wasn't tampered with on the ride from the restaurant to the house. In addition, the food was extremely fresh and hot, even the crab Rangoon's, which in some cases can be delivered with that wet, gummy effect because of the steam and condensation that accumulates inside of many of the take-home containers that you receive from most Asian food places. I wouldn't argue that this is the kind of containers that you would necessarily keep around as home Tupperware, but the bag that they sent everything in definitely feels like it's gotta reuse or two in it. Overall, we were really happy with the quality of the food as both Soups were portion wise enough for two consecutive days of meals. Same thing with the fried rice, which was really good We got the shrimp version and it had plenty of shrimp and veggies in addition to really fresh rice. Lastly, while I'm not specifically a dumpling guy, I decided to try these because the pictures looked really good on the website. And I can't lie, these were definitely really Good dumplings. Overall, we are looking forward to trying to spot out in person, but if we have to order again before we make it in person, that's what it is going to be!

Unfortunately, Kung Fu Noodles does not live up to that for us. You have to approach this restaurant with takeout in mind. Portion sizing is pretty generous. The food itself is very okay.
