    Bulgogi bowl
    Jina L.

Husband decided to do take out and brought this bulgogi bowl home. We've ate at this spot and have done take out before several times but it's been not the best. Each time it's just getting worse and now we won't be going back. I opened my bowl and asked where is all the rice and veggies?! First of all the bulgogi wasn't like this before but now it's all cut up into small pieces and they just scooped it with so much juice and sauce that my rice basically turned into a soup. If it's like this the entire meal is just so salty! Also, their japchae is supposed to be glass noodles but they weren't even noodles..it's what happens when you cook the noodles too long they start to break and get into little pieces and that's what it was. What kind of bowl was this??? I couldn't even finish it. I was so disappointed

Walk up counter service with menu board overhead

Stopped in for lunch on a recent business trip through the area, this is good a Korean BBQ place. Walk up counter service that is courteous and professional, place your order and the server will prepare it for you as you move through the service line. Even adding a fried egg only takes a moment, your bowl is presented to you when yourorder is ready. Pay and grab a seat. After viewing the overhead board I opted for the classic BYOBowl this is pretty much you build it the way you like with choices of rices, greens, spices, meats and sauces. I went for brown rice with a spicy chicken, kimchi, beautiful mixed greens shredded cabbage and sauce with an over medium fried egg on top. It was very good and filling with just enough heat to let you know you'd been there. This small eatery is very industrial and minimalist on the inside, with a small amount of seated space to eat, a lot of the orders are take it to go. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the authentic Kimchi 00869

Food was really bad. Noticeably dirty restaurant. Meat was cold. The zucchini tasted odd. I was afraid to eat the rest of my food for fear of getting food poisoning. The service needs improvement. Not customer service friendly.

This place is absolutely delicious! I have not dined in, but what I usually do if I'm in the area is a stop in and order some Korean bowls to go. Every time I have stopped in the restaurant is clean and welcoming. Recently, I discovered they are available on GrubHub! My family and I have started ordering from here once a week. The food is so delicious that even my seven year old son loves it. I love how customizable the Korean bowl is and you can add as much or as little as you want to it. This is what I usually order: Korean bowl with: Salad & rice base Spicy pork Chicken Bulgogi Pickled Carrots & radish Bean sprout salad Sautéed onion & pepper Red cabbage Kimchi Spicy Cucumber Sesame seeds My seven year old will get a kids bowl with chicken Bulgogi and rice. Every time we order from here he gets excited as he absolutely loves it! I highly recommend you check it out

Well.. I was driving by so I thought I give it a try. Well.. It wasn't bad idea is not bad but they got some of the cooking order backward.. So i ordered the hotpot version of the bibimbop.. So you pick your order of stuff to put on including the veggies stuff. But then they cook/heat up the hot pot with all your stuff in it. The vegetables side dishes stuff is not suppose to be piping hot, rice meat and veggies goes on top.. I don't care for my cucumber salad to be piping hot. . The taste was not bad. Not the worst not the best. The meat portions are precooked and sitting there in a big pot.. They did not look appetizing.. I know it's suppose to be kind of fast but not appealing. Staff was friendly didn't care for the sticky table even though it was wiped off. So I don't think I would go again.. For the price I paid I could go to a Korean restaurant and have better quality food. Not to mention kochujang/Korean chilly sauce was weak... Not even spicy.

It's hard for me to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to dining out, this is not a place I would normally go to, but I was in the area and felt like trying something different. I have to say I was very pleased with the food, it was excellent! I had a Beef Bulgogi bowl and tried the Beef Bulgogi fries. Both were delicious! As for the star review, I would give the food a 4.5 out of 5 and the restaurant a 2.5 out of 5. My issue; it was filthy. The owners need to make sure this place is continually cleaned throughout the day, and probably a deep clean weekly. Aesthetically it's unpleasing and that atmosphere can actually ruin an appetite. If this is how it looks outward facing, I can only imagine how the back area and food storage areas look. Sticky tables and floors, trash on the ground, grime on the baseboards, and stains everywhere. I would still probably go back, maybe it was an off day. But if it didn't get any better, not likely.

The food is pretty good, especially the mandu pork dumplings. Unfortunately, the service and level of cleanliness is pretty poor. There was only employee working during the dinner rush, and he was running between food and money without gloves. We saw him cough into his hand and then touch the cups Because he was alone the service was also incredibly slow.

    the "4oz" side of Kimchi

ordered a beef bulgogi bowl, side of rice and a 4 oz side of kimchi. What i received was not a 4 oz side of kimchi especially not for no $2.25. i also asked for my sauce on the side and yet i didn't see the sauce on the side.

    Vegan tofu bowl
    Jen R.

Vegan reviewer here! Okay let me start off by saying the food here is SO good and is consistent on flavor and portion sizes every time. Similar to a chipotle style menu you get to pick your base, toppings and protein. Everything is clearly labeled vegan as far as toppings AND if you ask for tofu as the protein they legit give you 4 heaping scoops of it. My go to is a half brown rice half salad base, all the veggies except for cheese, kimchi, spicy cucumber salad and bean sprout salad, tofu as my protein with Korean chili sauce with seaweed flakes and sesame oil. Ugh, I dream about this bowl. The vegetables are always fresh and so flavorful. I highly recommend this spot. My meal usually comes out to under $10 and can easily feed me twice.

To start the appetizer tray at the beginning is an awesome touch that I'm not used to in other places I have tried. It kind of took the guess work out of ordering in my opinion so I only had to focus on what meat or dish I wanted since my sides were already selected and refillable for free through the course of the meal. We ordered the seafood sundubu, beef bulgogi, and sweat and spicy korean fried chicken wings. The portion size was very generous on the wings and on the crispier side which my wife prefers. The seafood sundubu was delicious and was pleasantly surprised to see a decent amount of tofu and seafood types in the dish. The beef bulgogi was also tasty and as I said before just scratched that korean food craving that we had. This has been added to our rotation of date night locations for us! I also enjoyed the banchan, and I finished everything except the fish cakes, which are just not my favorite. Overall, I really appreciated the meal and the experience. I'll definitely be back soon to try the kimchi stew.

I really wanted something with their house made tofu in it, and the oyster soft tofu soup sounded just right for me. It was a bubbling hot concoction served with a bowl of mixed purple and white rice with bits of squash mixed in. The soup was so good! It had a good amount of oyster and the broth was spot on. The tofu was just the right consistency for the soup and tasted great. You can request your spice level and the medium was just right for me. The rice was also really good and well prepared. The banchan we had for lunch were kimchi, marinated cucumber, seaweed, fish cake, and pickled cabbage and beet. The restaurant itself is spacious and we had our pick of seats. The walls in between tables are high enough to allow for privacy. Service was good and we were checked on as needed. I couldn't finish the meal so I took the rest of the soup and rice to go. The kiddo tried the tofu and now also wants to go here which I will happily arrange for our next family outing!

Come to think of it, I've only been to a few Korean restaurants, two which served Korean corn dogs and the other I ordered a Japanese dish. As I was telling a friend about all this, she suggested we have lunch together at one, and I suggested this spot. I'd been in this complex before and this restaurant is stand alone on the NE corner of Dobson and Main in Mesa. Plenty of parking as we arrived at their opening hour of 11am. We chose a table towards the back and our server brought us water in a reusable bottle and steel cups, pretty cool. There is a QR code on the table to view the menu and a drawer on the end with napkins, spoons, and chopsticks. Never seen anything like that and thought it was clever. The Kpop music playing was a fun touch. I had perused the menu previously and liked that they had a separate vegetarian section. Although I am not vegetarian, I do like to eat it because it helps me avoid pork. I was in between their soup and bibimbap and decided to order the vegetarian tofu hot stone bibimbap ($16.50). Gotta try the tofu as it's in the name, and it's housemade which is neat. Our food did not take long to arrive and they were presented steaming and crackling, love that. My bowl was lovely and had tofu and veggies including sprouts, carrots, and bok choy. The rice on the bottom kept cooking so it became crunchy and delicious. The server brought us hot sauce (gochujang?) and I asked for soy sauce, since there was no sauce or flavor added to my bowl. I did like that it was fresh and healthy, and a good portion. I would've ordered the tofu bibimbap from the regular section since it comes with an egg on top, maybe next time. I was most excited about their banchan and trying the different small dishes. I did like that our server told us all the items in it were vegetarian except the fish cakes, that was helpful. Wondering why there was an empty space in the plate, though. I really enjoyed the fish cakes, the kimchi, and pickled cucumber as the latter two came in a tasty hot sauce. Not a big seaweed fan but it was fine, and the pickled beets/cabbage were on the sweet side but refreshing. We had a nice lunch here and this was a good introduction to Korean food! I'd be interested in trying more items in the future as the appetizers and soups looked appealing.

If you're not into eating inside parts of animals, I would recommend getting the brisket or kalbi cuts. The Banchan (sides) were good too. They had fish cake, kimchi, pickled radish and cucumbers available. We also tried the tofu soup, steamed egg and corn cheese which all came out hot and tasted flavorful. This spot is a-la-carte, so you order off the menu and pay by items. My only downside is that they didn't have rice paper here since I don't really eat the white rice since it fills me up too quickly.
