As always, I am looking for new places to try, and I am so glad I found this one. While the menu has lots of different types of dumplings on it, the joy is in seeing all the other items on it. The owner is from Dongbei in Northern China and knows how to cook well. We started with a plate of Seaweed and Garlic salad. There was no question as to the freshness of the seaweed as it had the same crunch as if it was harvested today. There will be no vampires around me tonight for sure. Next was Guo Bao Pork - crisp sweet and sour pork loin with ginger and cilantro. I haven't had food like this since I was in China. It was absolutely delicious. Companion ordered the signature dumplings - Pork, Shrimp, and Chives in a dumpling blanket, boiled and served with an excellent dipping sauce. The portion size was 12, and they couldn't be finished. Next was a big dish of House Special Fried Rice. With Chicken, Pork, and Shrimp it was excellent. Portions are all large and prices are quite reasonable. We ordered a few dishes to share: - signature dumplings - not bad - pan fried pork potstickers - large size! - Chinese beef burrito - exactly as it sounds, would like more veggies in it since it's primarily beef wrapped in a tortilla with some scallions. Could use a sauce - beef dry pot - by far my favorite of the dishes with the spice. I would add more veggies next time, but would definitely come back just for this dish. Trying another new Chinese restaurant. This one specializes in Northern China food, and my friend who's from that region recommended it to me. Of course I must try it. Ok. I will list in order and comment on each one. Grilled eggplant and potatoes: This is a typical Northern Chinese dish. The eggplants are tender and flavorful. The potatoes are really good too. Guo Bao Pork: Another typical Northern Chinese dish. It's like sweet and sour pork, but much better in my opinion. Lightly fried. No dipping sauce needed. It's a little sweet but not sour. You can taste a little ginger, but not a lot. Fried crispy pork: Typical Northern Chinese dish. Just what the name suggests. Very good. Pretty sure you will like it. Cabbage&Pork Soup Dumplings: It's ok. Nothing so write home about. Not Northern Chinese dish. Kinging Meat Pie: I really like this one. Very good! Hand made noodle dumpling, so I thought I give it a try. Ordered signature dumplings, szechwan beef noodle, seafood noodle, and house wonton noodle soup. Little disappointed that my dumpling did not come as appetizer, maybe I should have clarified. Dumpling was not too bad. Flavor was pretty good, but man I don't know if it was worth the price. My szechwan spicy beef soup was pretty good. Broth was nice and spicy and huge portion of noodles which I liked. Now for the other noodle dishes, broth tasted same. Broth was more on the blend side and almost tasted more of the flower than flavorful broth. I wish the broth was more flavor. But did have large portion of noodles. Over all the szechwan noodle dish was pretty good but rest was subpar. His go to's are the Pork and Scallion Dumplings (12 for $10.99) and Cabbage and Pork Soup Dumplings (10 for $9.99). We've also had the Braised Pork Belly ($15.99), Pan Fried Pork Pot Stickers (8 for $8.99), Jingdong Meat Pie ($12.99), Pork Steamed Buns (6 for $13.99), Chicken and Mushroom Steamed Buns (6 for $12.99), and Large Bowl of Wontons (12 for $13.99). We usually order online and there is a $1 convenience fee. You can order for free on the kiosks or when you go in. Depending on who is working, the employee will ask for the order number or a picture of your order (not sure what picture the employee was asking for). Been wanting to try this place and I'm glad we did! We ordered the cucumber salad with crushed garlic, red chili wontons, house special beef noodle soup, and the chinese beef burrito. The food came out quick and hot, and our server was nice and helpful. My favorite dish was the red chili wontons - the wontons themselves were flavorful and juicy, and the sauce was complex. Not that spicy, but delicious. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful without being too salty, a compliment I don't get to say often. The only things I would change would be to marinate the cucumbers a little longer, cook the noodles a little shorter (so they're bouncier), and add more cilantro to the burrito. Finally made it on a Sunday afternoon, not too busy as we were seated right away and more than half of the restaurant was empty. . Red Chili Wonton, we ordered with mild spice and had a few hot chili oils that gave it a little kick. Other than that, it was a solid choice. I've been wanting to try Kofu for a while and was finally in the area. I stopped in for an early dinner on a weekday and it wasn't busy at all. Ordering is quick and easy with the QR code and the food came out quickly. I ordered the green beans, beef dry pot, and signature dumplings. Everything was really tasty! The green beans were fresh with some pork and garlic for flavor and cooked perfectly. The dry pot was also excellent and had a good amount of tender beef, veggies, tofu, and fish cake. Lastly, the signature dumplings were clearly homemade and excellent as well. Service was attentive and the restaurant was very clean. The menu is pretty extensive and there are a lot of items that I liked: the xiao long baos are good (dumpling skin on the ticker side), the spicy wontons are delicious, the chicken dry pot is great! Also liked the garlic noodles. The spicy beef noodle soup was just ok for me, felt like there was too much chili oil sitting on top of the broth. Wood ear mushroom salad: 3/5 Loved how plentiful this was. Same as the bean curd salad, it was a bit overly salty for our preferences, but we loved the abundance of garlic there was. Cabbage and pork soup dumplings: 4/5 The dumpling skin was thicker than preferred, the amount of meat though was adequate, and it wasn't overly juicy. Red chili wontons: 5/5 Our favorite dish that we've tried here so far! The wontons had a good amount of filling. The wonton skin wrapper was perfect, not too thin or too thick, and the spice was not too "mala". DanDan pork noodles: 2/5 You mostly taste the peanutty flavor at first and then get hit with a subtle hint of spice and sourness after. This is one of those dishes I would recommend finishing in one sitting. It loses a lot of the initial flavors if taken as leftovers. Braised pork rib: 4/5 A solid dish you can't go wrong with. The meat was tender and easily fell off the bone. I wish there were more spices but to each their own. The service was fast and attentive, but we did go during lunchtime and there weren't many other tables at the time. You like heat, they have it. The noodles were cooked to perfection. Firm with a nice chew. Flavor was great! Nice heat First time having the walnut shrimp. What a delight! Crunchy and sweet walnuts. The batter on the shrimp was light and crispy. The shrimp were cooked to perfection! Plump and juicy. The dumplings were very flavorful and the wrapper was thin. Only thing is, they were tiny. Happy Bao are twice the size and I set my standard by them! The house special chow main was very good! Great flavor, and once again, the noodles were on point! When i sat down, I looked at the little tray with soy sauce and chili oil. The chili oil was almost gone. I was thinking they were lacking in the table prep and maintenance. I was wrong. Five of us checked out KOFU Dumplings House on Saturday night since we heard it was their soft opening. We got there around 6 PM, and luckily, it only took about 10 minutes to get a table. The place is bright and roomy, with a nice setup. They've got two little semi-private areas for bigger groups, along with a mix of regular and high tables, which is cool. We kept it simple this time and ordered some appetizers, dumplings, and noodles. Most of the food was really good! But we weren't big fans of the soup dumplings or the wonton noodles--they didn't really hit the spot for us. Everything else was delicious, though. The only downside was that we all felt super thirsty afterward, which was kind of a bummer. We might come back to try other dishes, but hopefully, that "thirsty" feeling won't happen again. read more

Sides were very sour and only got more seaweed and missing other sides ordered, we ordered soup dumplings right when it came out we bite into it and they were still frozen on the inside (we brushed it off), they took it to warm up, the pork slices were frozen still *sigh*, (brush it off again) thinking of ordering soup but 30 mins into still waiting for the soup dumplings to get warmed up, basically lost my appetite. I saw an ad on IG and wanted to try out this new place My group of 4 came at 12:15 and had a table immediately without waiting. Just 15 minutes later, there is a long line and until when we finish dining, people are still waiting. You can either order on app or someone will show up to take order. Then you pay at the cashier. What I really like is the fast and friendly service. Water came in jugs with cups. They were refilled immediately when jug became empty. Our table has jugs. I ordered an intestine dry pot 5/5. If you ask for rice then rice is free! My dry pot comes with many ingredients and I couldn't finish it even though that was my main meal. I also had mushroom and chicken steamed dumplings. They were soft and juicy 5/5. My table ordered the rest of the meals. Everything was so cheap. Six large steam buns cost $14. I took home the dry pot. My friends took home dan dan noodles, pot stickers and steamed buns. I would definitely recommend this place and will come back in the future. read more

I visited Kofu Dumpling House excited to try a new place for Chinese food in town. Kofu specializes in food from Northeast China, so it's a bit different from some of the other Chinese food spots nearby. I'd recommend trying the Guo Bao Rou, which is a crispy, sweet pork dish. The serving sizes are pretty big here, and I ended up having to take leftovers of the Guo Bao Rou and the A choy home. The service was quick and friendly, and the new restaurant is clean. There's lots of parking so you shouldn't have any difficulty finding a spot. I wanted to order a couple of appetizers, but because I went late in the evening, they were out by the time I got there. After a great meal here yesterday, I return to try their dumplings. I tried to avoid the crushed cucumber and ordered the sliced spicy pig ears but it was sold out. So I had Sliced beef & tripe in chili sauce and Shredded bean curd. For dumplings, I ordered the Signature (pork, shrimp and chives). The hand rolled skin made them really tasty and the ingredients were fresh. This is my favorite Chinese eatery in town now. So glad to have another option in Mesa! Their appetizers all look fantastic -- you'll see them in the cooler as you walk in -- and the pig ears tasted fantastic. The mala sauce isn't spicy, but definitely adds a great flavor. The signature dumplings, which are filled with shrimp, pork, and chives, are also delicious with a great vinegary sauce. The dan dan noodles are tasty, but didn't have as much meat as you'd expect. It was mostly noodles and heavier on the peanut or sesame sauce, rather than the chili or soy. My friend and I came to Kofu dumpling house. Now there's no grand sign on the door but it's at the end of a strip of restaurants in the old AZ marketplace. What is lack's in signage, it makes up for in dumpings! I had the veg option and it is tasty with a little hot oil and soy sauce!!! The dough is tender but with a chew and the insides are veggie wonderful ! I ordered the veg bao buns and they were good as well, not the lightest I've ever had but good filling. The service is prompt and the floor is do sparkling clean and shiny, it's like glass. Decor is sparse Asian. Not bad not remarkable. Bathrooms are clean as a whistle. We decided to try this place after driving past this place many times and this place did not disappoint. Now we only tried the items we saw on here that were popular: The Signature Dumplings, the Soup Dumplings and the braised pork. The dumplings were so good and the sauce the came with them too added so much more flavor. Out of the dumplings I think I liked the soup dumplings more but the signature are signature for a reason. But that braised pork.... Melt in your mouth, delicious flavor. My lord that was a chefs kiss. We are def gonna come back and explore more of the menu.
