[[HIGHLIGHT]]Hole in the wall ramen bar covered in anime decor, is the perfect way to fully encapsulate Origami in 1 sentence.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're an anime lover, then the interior filled to the brim with anime stickers and posters adds to the fun you'll have while waiting for your food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Noise level is 3/10 if 10 means bustling and loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I want to make a very specific note about their pork used in certain bowls, this is the first time ever I've had pork on the sweeter side. It's interesting for the initial bites but I still prefer the straight savory pork chasu flavor 99% of ramen places serve. The broth was half thick but still goes down well, but I wouldn't say it reached the expectation of spicy was there when there's an emphasis in the title for its spiciness. My final verdict of Origami, if you're not wanting to go far from the bordering Chandler-Ahwatukee area, give this place a shot.

I love shio broth and golden sea salt ramen here is my absolute favorite. There are lots of delicious garlic. The bamboo shoots are tasty, not have strong aroma. We ordered on their website and the food come out fast. They have iced green tea in can. They are small but serve big tasty flavor of food.

The food was amazing, it was beautiful very authentic. It was a hole in the wall place, but had great service. Great for seafood lovers, meat lovers, and people that don't like meat at all.

I wish I tried this place sooner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's very relaxed, got tvs with anime usually playing, lots of anime and manga decor as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is soooooo delicious . I get the Spicy miso ramen usually. 10/10 if anyone asked me to go here vs somewhere else I'd absolutely pick this spot every time. We love to come here and open our pokemon and one piece packs, it's perfect. We also tried the coffee this time, everything on the menu is perfect!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was super cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the decor too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The ramen was incredible. I also tried the spam onigiri rice ball and the California rice bowl which were both delicious. The ordering is done through your phone, but the staff were all nice.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Really great little ramen spot- if you enjoy Japanese pop culture, manga and anime, then that's another awesome bonus![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is cleverly covered with anime and manga references including stickers, posters, adorable plushy characters, and an epic painting of Kakashi Sensei himself![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don't let that deter you though, with or without a love for anime, the food is flavorful and memorable. I tried the classic ramen and the husband got the Katsu Curry and wow, they did not disappoint! The noodles were cooked well, the broth was well seasoned but not too salty, and the curry tasted authentic. They have a wide variety of fun soda flavors too. We will be back!

Went on a weekday night and didn't have to wait for a table. Digital menus are available via a QR code at the table, and you can order straight from your phone or through the tablet on the table. You pay before the food is brought out to you so you don't feel trapped waiting for the bill to come when you're done eating. I had the miso ramen which admittedly didn't have a strong miso flavor. To me, it was really garlicky (I believe fried garlic and minced garlic both come as toppers). However, it was still really flavorful and I enjoyed it. The pork belly (you have a choice of protein) were two generous pieces that looked bland, but were tender and tasty. I'd definitely come back again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is small but so cute. The decorations are so fun![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I walked in first and they are sit where you want style. A staff member is bring water and let you know you can walk up to order at the kiosk or scan your table QR code and order from the app. When my friends got here, we ordered from the app. I got the Strawberry green tea, fried chicken, and Cha Su Mein. The green tea was not as sweet as I would like it and I normally order 50% less sweet. The fried chicken was very good, super crispy and juice inside. The dipping sauce add a lot of flavor. Loved the display of the Cha Su Mein. It was very delicious as well.

Food was good! You have to order from an app and tip right then and there as you're placing your order.. I found that quite odd. Someone reason my phone wasn't loading. So I wasn't even able to use that platform. I had to go to the back to place the order with the server..she didn't mind. Overall the food was delish! Anima stickers EVERYWHERE! Super fun place to be at. I liked , it was small and busy. P.S LOOK at the photos of the food before you add additional toppings we clearly didn't.

Very cute ramen restaurant in Ahwatukee! It feels cozy and it was cool to see that I can order and pay with their QR code. Convenient! Tried their chicken ramen, it was good but kinda pricey for the amount and toppings that came with the ramen. I might try something else next time!

    Garlic black spicy ramen
    Lei G.

Stopped in for a ramen lunch. Ate the Garlic Black Spicy, positives were there was a lot of garlic & the broth was flavorful. It's odd that the default meat is chicken, and you have to pay extra for substituting for pork. Most all ramen restaurants default to pork vs chicken. The Fried Gyoza was ok, the sauce with it was not flavorful so asked for chilli oil to add to it.

Robbin was amazing. Pork belly was among the best I've ever had. I ordered extra noodles but didn't need them. There were so many.

They told us to please stay and we are so welcome and they were over the top accommodating. Everything was so good. The spicy miso wasn't my favorite flavor but that is just a personal preference. They offer a nice variety of Japanese dishes, but we were definitely here for the ramen. I ordered the spicy miso ramen, and it came out just right--perfectly spicy with fish cake, green onions, and all the toppings. It was delicious and hit the spot. The tonkotsu ramen had a nice creaminess to it, but it could've used a bit more depth of flavor. One thing I really liked is that you can order side appetizers along with your entrée, almost like building your own bento-style meal. We went with the deep-fried gyoza and gyudon. The gyudon was a standout--definitely five stars. The gyoza, however, was just okay for me. Breakdown:    *   Spicy miso ramen:    *   Tonkotsu ramen:    *   Gyudon:    *   Gyoza: Service was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and overall it definitely satisfied our ramen craving.

My oh Maisen Katsu!…read more It's been a while since I ate at the H-Mart market eatery food hall, and not for lack of trying. I've been to H-Mart a couple times recently and wanted to eat there but it was closed, I went too late. Today I went for lunch-- And I'm glad I did, it was SO delicious. The food hall was busy on Thursday around noon, however still plenty of open seating available for me. Sometimes on the weekend you might be waiting for people to finish before finding a spot. Today was easy, peasy. My food was quick, took around 10 minutes. The orders were flying out of the katsu kitchen!! They call it out and you can see on a small monitor when your number is ready. I walked around the food stalls before deciding I wanted katsu. I'm very happy with my choice. The person in front of me was picking up their order and it looked really good. So I copied them-- #8 cheese katsu!! The woman taking orders was very friendly and helpful. I told her I would eat there but wouldn't finish it due to big portions so I tried to order it to go, she advised I get it regular and then box up the leftovers. She was so right! The presentation alone is fun like fajitas and she said it's all packaged separately when ordered for take out. Great tip from her. She could have just let me do that but she understood what I had told her. I chose the pork katsu, you can get chicken also. The #8 dish is served with katsu sauce/gravy, and mozzarella cheese sizzling on a skillet. On the side is rice and cabbage, and a clear broth. It was absolute heaven. This is a very decadent dish with all the cheese and sauce. And it changes the texture of the katsu, I could tell it was crispy but it also was covered in cheesy goodness so less crispy than the other katsu options. On the bottom of the skillet is the most crunchy cheese bits that you can scrape off to get that fried cheese goodness. And the portion was big, 2 pieces of meat! Enough that I had half of it to take home. This is definitely enough to share. Next time I'll try the katsu & udon combo or the katsu sando so that I get more of the crispy katsu texture. The cheese version is more smothered and covered, but very yummy though! On the menu they also have noodle dishes with soba, ramen, and udon. I can't speak on those since I didn't try them. There are lots of other noodle options in the food hall though, so I would definitely recommend getting the katsu, and if you also want noodles, the combo option. I'll definitely come back to this food stall when craving some katsu.

Updated review-- still 5 stars for me :)…read more Tonight we went to dinner hosted by the Tasting Collective (a dining club I joined last year). The menu was 5 courses prix fixe designed by the head chef for this group. The restaurant was closed as a private event. Service was excellent, the food was also so delicious, and cocktails were great too. Shimogamo is one of the few Japanese restaurants in the valley that remind me of eating Japanese food in Japan. It's well prepared, fresh, and high quality. The cocktails are creative and nods to Japan with delicate flavors and unique ingredients. Our courses were: started with the truffle amberjack which is a flavor bomb, very rich and truffle forward. Which I don't always enjoy but when paired with amberjack, it was great. 2nd course was a nigiri plate- 4 choices: sea bream (which I love), a fancy type salmon, toro, and couple pieces of the wagyu roll. Next onto a darn near perfect crab croquet that was creamy with big pieces of crab and perfectly fried, and main course was K4 ranch Wagyu from Prescott. Very buttery and delicious. We ended with a matcha basque cheesecake. The chefs talked about the food, answered questions, and talked about their background. It was an enjoyable dinner and we will be back for the "oysters and cocktails" hour they were promoting. I love both of those things.

Found myself a seat under a nearby tent- there are plenty of options since people are constantly rotating in and out of the tables. It was a warm day - be sure to try and secure a shady spot. On to the food, the portion was massive. My wife and I picked on a few other things before here, but we both have healthy appetites. The black belt curry was rich, hearty and absolutely delicious. I still remember the potatoes in that Japanese curry - they were slightly chewy, creamy and I couldn't get enough of them. The braised pork belly was tender, rich, and very flavorful, not too fatty which is something you often have to worry about with pork belly curry dishes.
