Amazing bowl of ramen! Although the ramen is expensive $29, I think it's the best ramen I have eaten outside of Japan. I ordered the Signature Toripaitan, which includes various types of meat like duck, pork, chicken and wagyu. The egg was smoked so it had a rich complex flavor. The truffle paste and toppings were wonderful complements to the dish. The broth was fantastic and had great depth. I came when Mensho opened for lunch, so I did not have to wait in line, but it started to get busier once I was ready to leave. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our waters were regularly refilled. The service was very quick. Once we ordered, our ramen came out within 10 minutes. If you want to have a delicious bowl of ramen and do not mind spending $20-$50 (depending on what option you select), you should definitely check this spot out. A friend of mine wanted me to try out Mensho and brought me to the Phoenix location which is tucked in a cute little plaza amongst other eateries. The interior is absolutely gorgeous and upon entering the staff greets you in a traditional Japanese greeting. We arrived just before a rush of people and were seated promptly. Unfortunately, I was not able to try the ramen () due to all of the soup bases containing mushrooms, bummer!! However, I did order the Kaarage, which was crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The Lobster Ramen was a fun one-time experience -- you're definitely paying a premium for the lobster, but it's executed really well. That said, the Cauliflower Tantanmen completely stole the show! Stopped in for a late evening dinner on Sunday. It was not busy. Quiet and relaxing. Service was quick and attentive. Our waiter went over some of the more popular dishes with the table and answered a few questions. My friend selected the Signature Toripatian. He said the flavor was amazing and the waygu was "killer". Would definitely come back. We LOVED the spicy chicken karage. The GKO ramen was our favorite that we had, we loved the garlic, the crunchy ingredients and the overall flavor. The signature ramen was the second best. The wagyu beef and pork on the signature ramen had a really good taste and texture to it, but the broth and complexity of the dish were not as refined. I was going to give 5 stars to this restaurant but I did not enjoy the service, our server was really sassy and at some point when I was trying to order for my husband she wouldn't let me and said she would wait for him to come back and would not let me order for him. That rubbed me the wrong way. Then I tipped not even knowing tip was included, I found out only after signing the check, but it was not Obvious that tip was included. I would love to give this place more than 5 stars because WOAH AMAZING 11/10!!! First of all we walked in with great service, the bartender was very attentive and gave us different recommendations. He was very honest about what sake we should and shouldn't order and how the most popular option might not be the best option. We got a whole bottle of sake which served 6 glasses for $18! The ramen was the star- the broth was flavorful and buttery!! Not exactly sure how they got it to be so perfect but we sat there for 10+ mins not saying a word to one another since the ramen was so good. The signature and classic were great options! Space is nice because there are booths and you can sit at the bar! There wasn't any outdoor seating but it wasn't needed. Fantastic service! When I tell you that the staff was so attentive and on it...man, they really know customer service. There is indoor and pursuit seating available. I love the décor it is a representative of the Asian culture. And while I did not try the ramen, everyone at the table did and had great things to say regarding the favor. I've been dying to try this place! We went with a group of 8 and had about an hour wait to get seated which was fine - we just grabbed a drink at the Thai place across the way. The food was definitely unique and not your standard ramen. I thought the edamame were nothing special and the corn rib app was tasty. My son took me here for a really good bowl of ramen. Let me start by saying this place is really pricey! He has been here before and recommended the signature ramen (Signature Toripaitan) which includes a lot of different meats A5 Wagyu, duck, chicken and smoked pork. I was sold and we both ordered it. This was my most expensive ramen I have ever ordered as it was $29 dollars. Unfortunately I received my ramen first and we were puzzled on where his order was. I started to eat it and it took about 5 minutes to wave down a server and ask where our second order was. We were told it was still being prepared which was puzzling and disappointing. By the time the second bowl arrived I was pretty much finished. I was still hungry and decided to try their wagyu sushi. This again was very pricey and it was just meh. I didn't see any information on where they get their meat but I don't think its Japan. It didn't hit like the Ramen so I would recommend to stick to just the ramen as the sushi cost $16 which is what a typical bowl of ramen would cost elsewhere. The restaurant was very large for a ramen establishment and we were seated very quickly. I gave this 3 stars as I removed 1 for service and 1 for price. read more

Best ramen in Arizona BY FAR. I've been to Mensho's other location in Mesa multiple times, stood in line waiting there, and I will still say this one in Phoenix is better. The ambience is a lot different, but the service is extremely better. They aren't over crowded like the one in Mesa and lowkey the food was better too! Tried Monsho Ramen for the first time and it did not disappoint! I got the standard ramen and it totally hit the spot--rich broth, perfect noodles, and all the toppings were on point. What really stood out though was how kid-friendly this place is. We had our toddler with us and the staff went above and beyond to make him feel welcome--checking in often, chatting with him, even bringing over little things to keep him entertained. Four of us decided to try Menshu Ramen since none of us had been and we all heard good things. Heads up for the uninitiated, like us, the menu differs a bit per location. Read on... It's a cool, modern, comfy-classy-relaxed location! One long rectangular building with multiple restaurants. Restaurants in front, in back and on the sides. All share a parking lot with plenty of parking and a cool courtyard in the middle. *Atmosphere: comfortable and modern, Asian inspired modern feel inside with a mix of standard height tables and booths, high tops, a cool round bar with some fun red neon lights, other cool hanging Asian-inspired lighting fixtures. It's a bit loud, likely from all the hard surfaces, it was packed, so there were lots of people and conversations happening at once. The staff "yells" definitely added noise, read on for more about that. I rate atmosphere 8 of 10. *Food: Presentation was outstanding across the board, beautiful, colorful, fresh, and texture balanced. See the photos I included of our food. My shiitake mushroom was actually branded with the restaurant name, that was cool and it was delicious, like a mushroom "steak". We started with the Karaage - fried chicken. It was crispy and crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft and steamy on the inside with a drizzle of kurozu vinagarette, a few slices of eggplant and a roasted pepper. It was very good. Unfortunately, this location only has 2 broth options, chicken soup and miso, neither are my first choice, or any of ours. They don't have tonkatsu broth at this location but apparently they do at other locations. We thought this was strange and unfortunate. The ramen is expensive here. I ordered the GKO (garlic knock out) with a few extra toppings including 2 eggs and shiitake mushroom. It was $26 for the ramen and $5 for the extra 3 toppings. The other 3 in our group ordered the Signature Toripaitan Ramen at $29 per bowl plus $5 each for extra toppings. They come with a reasonable amount of toppings, but if you want a few more, they're available. I added full menu pictures so you can see everything and all the prices. Check out the $50 bowls. The base on all of our bowls was a "rich creamy chicken soup". The noodles were good, thick, lightly chewy, and heavy, nice. The toppings were very good, fresh, nicely curated, and the broth was very thick and rich and tasted good, not overwhelmingly delicious, a bit flat on flavor, but good. I ate all of mine and 1/2 of a "Signature". They tasted similar, textures and richness were virtually identical. The GKO had a nice garlic under/taste, not overwhelming. For dessert we split the Matcha Latte Pudding. It was good, not an explosion of flavor or overly interesting, a bit muted flavor-wise, but beautiful presentation and smooth light flavor. I rate food 8 of 10. *Service: the service was outstanding. Heads-up, the staff all scream something when you walk in that I believe is supposed to be a "welcome" for all the hungry-hungry-hippos waiting outside and walking through the door. It's kind of charming, but honestly it's shockingly loud as you're talking with your table mates and are periodically and surprisingly drowned out by the shouts. The male staff member who rounded our table/my chair, directly facing me, and screamed the welcome-battle-cry definitely rang our heads hard and reverberated through our noggins for a few minutes after. Our server and the guy who delivered our food were super friendly and knowledgable, we loved their positive, happy, enthusiastic descriptions of all the food, well done. I rate service 9 of 10. *Value: in my opinion $30 for a bowl of ramen soup (let alone the two $50 bowls) is steep, unless it's 'far and away' better than most other ramens. Was this? This was good ramen, good toppings, fresh, well curated, with good service. No doubt. Was it TWICE as good and therefore worth twice the price of other ramens? No, was it a $15-$20 bowl of ramen? Sure, on a weekend, out with friends, having fun, in a nice setting, yea, I can see that. But $186 before tip ($225 after tip) for 4 people who shared one small app, each had one bowl of ramen, 2 people had drinks, and one small shared dessert, it was pricey. I rate value a 7 of 10. *Overall: this was a good experience. I'd like to try another of their locations for their tonkatsu base ramen and see how it stacks up. If it's exceptional, the "value" may be higher in my opinion. The experience here was very good, the ramen was good+, the value for the money is the area I felt could be a bit better. WOW. We're so lucky that Mensho Ramen opened right around the corner from us. Or maybe unlucky depending on whether we want to judge this based on the future state of our stomachs or our wallets. Major thanks to Yelp for this one - I went with the Cauliflower Tantanmen and added an egg (since I'm not actually vegan). It was absolutely incredible. Knockout flavors with the perfect amount of spice. My husband is apparently secretly a ramen aficionado from work lunches and says this was the best ramen he's ever had. There are so many fun ramen options on the menu (lobster and wagyu anyone?) but the Cauliflower Tantanmen was so good that I don't think I can bring myself to order anything else. Speaking of wagyu, though, the wagyu sushi was a top notch starter. We also ordered some sort of octopus balls that were topped with... moving fish flakes? I'm not fancy enough to know what I actually ate, but it had a super unique flavor. Google tells me it was actually Takoyaki and the toppings were bonito flakes. Can't wait to come back! This isn't just lunch, it's an experience. Walking in, you are welcome with a loud greeting by the whole staff. You sit down to a beautifully set table, placemats... If I had a bigger bag... The menu is perfect. It was hard to decide what to have. The server gave us all the pointers. The hard part, is everything as a favorite. And I can see why. Ramen Heaven! Surprised my best friend for her birthday and this place went above and beyond our expectations. We started out with the daikon salad which was cool and refreshing. The daikon was cut into ribbons and the yuzu dressing was light and airy. Next we got the karaage chicken, it's thigh meat and it was so tender. The outside was perfectly fried and the meat was perfect. We were brave and order the A5 Wagyu with garlic. The meat was so tender due to the perfect marbling. It basically melted in your mouth and the fried garlic toppings added a nice crunch. I wanted to try their sushi and my boyfriend and I got the Misoyaki salmon roll. The salmon was nice and cool and no fishy taste. The salmon roe on top was so good! Now the main dish: ramen. I got the one with lobster and it came with a slice of butter. After I mixed it in, the broth was rich and creamy. The noodles were al dente and did not get soggy throughout our meal. Our server was kind and attentive. She answered all of our questions. Walked in at 4pm on a Sunday and were greeted very warmly by the staff and shown to table right away (no wait!) The space is bright and doesn't feel crowded (although only about 1/4-1/3 of the tables were occupied at the time). We had been once before, during their opening month and were curious about additions to their menu since then. So glad we came back! Grilled corn wings were smoky, buttery, and delicious, especially with a dusting of their spice blend. Garlic edamame balanced out the spicy karaage (fried chicken). Next time, we'll try the non-spicy version of the karaage, as hubby found their spicy sauce too hot! I was delighted to see a soupless ramen on their noodle menu now, called "Farm to Bowl." It is a cold dish, which is PERFECT for our Phoenix summers. Lots of ingredients, including grilled chicken, marinated egg, chewy noodles, fried roots, nuts, shishito peppers, citrus, red onion, ginger, green onion. When mixed together, all the flavors combined for the perfect summer bite! Must try. For dessert we had the matcha latte pudding. Almost chickensoup like in nature. The toppings are fresh and plentiful but you shouldn't feel the need to add more than whats already in. I really liked the flavor profile of the garlic knockout that my partner ordered. The signature tonkanston (?) was good, but lacked spice and chillies. The issue with the garlic knockout is that it doesn't have enough meat on it. So ideally I'd like a GKO base with the standard meats on it. Place is busy and you need to wait to eat here. Very fancy ramen spot for a date night. Most of the people in the restaurant at 6 on a Friday were on a date. The bar was surrounded by love birds love bombing their ramen. Second time at Mensho, first time at the uptown location- this location is much larger than the one in Mesa. It's nestled in between a couple other cool restaurants and a soft serve ice cream joint Onyx which looks delicious. I ordered the Garlic Knockout - the 5 x garlic was the primary reason I ordered it. The flavour was delicious and not over powering. Could have used a little more meat.
