Beautifully decorated restaurant, and loved that we didn't have to wait near closing time on a weekend. Ramen was satisfying and cozy as always
Food was delicious and rich. Eel in the roll was super fresh. They were able to accommodate our party of 16 and serve us relatively quickly. Huge fan of the ramen egg in there as well as the duck. The restaurant is beautiful with a nice outdoor patio as well. Definitely coming back.
A friend of mine wanted me to try out Mensho and brought me to the Phoenix location which is tucked in a cute little plaza amongst other eateries. The interior is absolutely gorgeous and upon entering the staff greets you in a traditional Japanese greeting. We arrived just before a rush of people and were seated promptly. Unfortunately, I was not able to try the ramen () due to all of the soup bases containing mushrooms, bummer!! However, I did order the Kaarage, which was crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The eggplant was also delicious and refreshing. We also ordered Corn Wings and Garlic Edamame which were also delicious!
Very hyped ramen joint, and very busy. It lived up to the hype. It was delicious and we sat at the bar so we could see the open kitchen, and the staff making the bowls right in front. Awesome service. They had a crispy mushroom appetizer that was delicious. The meat in the ramen was smoked, and the flavors definitely came through. Would recommend to try it once for everyone!
Phx spot is way better than Mesa location, so much more breathing room. Came for 630pm dinner and there wasn't a long wait. Ordered the classic ramen and was true to its description, very nice thick chicken broth and my absolute favorite (I love a thick broth) cauliflower tantan is an amazing vegetarian ramen that I would also recommend to order over the other vegetarian options. The cauliflower is set to resemble "ground meat" and it's absolutely perfect. The signature already tried in the Mesa location but it is just as good.
Stopped in for a late evening dinner on Sunday. It was not busy. Quiet and relaxing. Service was quick and attentive. Our waiter went over some of the more popular dishes with the table and answered a few questions. My friend selected the Signature Toripatian. He said the flavor was amazing and the waygu was "killer". Would definitely come back. I got the Cauliflower Tantamen which has a light spice and a great flavor not overly salted like some places I've been. You wouldn't know it was vegan by the broth. You have the option to add toppings or protein, but I chose to go as is and I wasn't disappointed. I'd like to try the sushi next time but not sure I could stray from the ramen.
We LOVED the spicy chicken karage. The GKO ramen was our favorite that we had, we loved the garlic, the crunchy ingredients and the overall flavor. The signature ramen was the second best. The wagyu beef and pork on the signature ramen had a really good taste and texture to it, but the broth and complexity of the dish were not as refined. I was going to give 5 stars to this restaurant but I did not enjoy the service, our server was really sassy and at some point when I was trying to order for my husband she wouldn't let me and said she would wait for him to come back and would not let me order for him. That rubbed me the wrong way. Then I tipped not even knowing tip was included, I found out only after signing the check, but it was not Obvious that tip was included. I felt ripped off because tip became double. The service was not good and now I was tipping 40% The ambiance was nice. Overall not a bad place
Had a great time here, casual vibes, nice lighting, friendly staff. The enoki chips were alright but probably wouldn't order again, nice and salty with lemon squeezed over. Seeing so many good reviews for the Garlic Ramen, I ordered that. It was delicious, lots of yummy proteins, so many different garlic flavors, I was really impressed. I had a little half serving leftover that reheated really well the next day. Would get again!
Just amazing. I went with two friends who are more seasoned than I regarding Asian cuisine and we all loved Mensho. It was busy on a Friday night but we were able to sit at the bar and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the night. Beautiful interior with nice outdoor seating with a modern feel. The appetizers are alright, but the ramen is the star here. The Garlic Knock Out had so much flavor, a smooth body, and fresh toppings that perfectly complimented the noodles. Would love to come back!
Went during lunch. Crowd wasn't too crazy. Decide to try the corn wings and garlic edamame, both very good and got to the table fast. Shared the garlic ramen as an entree, flavor was great. Only downside of the trip was the staffing. Looks like they were having an off day and only 1 guy running the show. He was doing a great job with what he had to work with.
I would love to give this place more than 5 stars because WOAH AMAZING 11/10!!! First of all we walked in with great service, the bartender was very attentive and gave us different recommendations. He was very honest about what sake we should and shouldn't order and how the most popular option might not be the best option. We got a whole bottle of sake which served 6 glasses for $18! The ramen was the star- the broth was flavorful and buttery!! Not exactly sure how they got it to be so perfect but we sat there for 10+ mins not saying a word to one another since the ramen was so good. The signature and classic were great options! Space is nice because there are booths and you can sit at the bar! There wasn't any outdoor seating but it wasn't needed. The restaurant is located in the back of a strip mall which can be hard to find at night!
Solid 4 star ramen place. Quite expensive which is why it drops a star. The bill for 2 people was around $100 for 2 ramens, a bottle of sake, and a dessert. The ramen is very thick and creamy. Almost chickensoup like in nature. The toppings are fresh and plentiful but you shouldn't feel the need to add more than whats already in. I really liked the flavor profile of the garlic knockout that my partner ordered. The signature tonkanston (?) was good, but lacked spice and chillies. The issue with the garlic knockout is that it doesn't have enough meat on it. So ideally I'd like a GKO base with the standard meats on it. Place is busy and you need to wait to eat here. Very fancy ramen spot for a date night. Most of the people in the restaurant at 6 on a Friday were on a date. The bar was surrounded by love birds love bombing their ramen. I'll be back to show guests Phoenix or for a fancy meal if I'm feeling it! P.S. guy named Steve left a review down below and it's very similar to mine. Where do I even begin!? The aesthetic is so relaxed and cozy, ambience on point! The food----UNREAL! I don't even have words. JUST LOOK AT THE PICTURES AND vid! Drooling as I look at it again! My server was so sweet & made the experience! Ordered: Garlic Knockout Ramen (spicy & rich in flavor) 6 added slices of duck (recommend cooked well done) Sparkling white peach Moshi (sparkling soda) *I recommend asking for salty, if you're a salty person like me! ;) Pricey, so come ready to be cashy! read more

We came in around 2pm on a Saturday, and Mensho was not busy at all. We were seated quickly and met with a friendly face! The interior is beautiful and I could imagine it'd be a fun place to go on a date. We ordered the fried shitake mushrooms as an appetizer... I highly recommend! It was unlike anything - so light and salty and addictive! And it wasn't too filling when shared. Everyone at the table ordered the Garlic Knock Out ramen with an added egg. The broth was super thick and rich with the most garlic flavor I've ever had in a bowl of ramen. It had tree roots on top, which I could've gone without. The sous vide chicken was so tender, but I heard they used to give chashu with the bowl before. Overall, my fam had a great experience here and most likely will be returning! read more
Amazing bowl of ramen! Although the ramen is expensive $29, I think it's the best ramen I have eaten outside of Japan. I ordered the Signature Toripaitan, which includes various types of meat like duck, pork, chicken and wagyu. The egg was smoked so it had a rich complex flavor. The truffle paste and toppings were wonderful complements to the dish. The broth was fantastic and had great depth. I came when Mensho opened for lunch, so I did not have to wait in line, but it started to get busier once I was ready to leave. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our waters were regularly refilled. The service was very quick. Once we ordered, our ramen came out within 10 minutes. If you want to have a delicious bowl of ramen and do not mind spending $20-$50 (depending on what option you select), you should definitely check this spot out. I ordered the Signature Toripaitan - chicken soup, A5 wagyu, smoked pork, duck, chicken, spinach, truffle paste, green onion, fried gobo, smoked ajitama, blacken negi. The chicken soup was creamy and rich in flavor. I also loved the thicker fresh noodles. Meats were all cooked perfectly, tender, and also flavorful. Very impressed with the smoked custardy egg wow. I have no criticism for this specific ramen and would return to try more of the menu. Service was good. Waiter was positive and helpful. Although the ramen was pricey, arguably worth it compared to 99% of "ramen" in US. read more

Fantastic service! When I tell you that the staff was so attentive and on it...man, they really know customer service. There is indoor and pursuit seating available. I love the décor it is a representative of the Asian culture. And while I did not try the ramen, everyone at the table did and had great things to say regarding the favor. Many stated that they liked the thickness of the broth. I did try the garlic edamame as well as the spicy karaage and both was very pleasing. I have no complaints. There is accessible parking and entrance. read more

Best ramen in Arizona BY FAR. I've been to Mensho's other location in Mesa multiple times, stood in line waiting there, and I will still say this one in Phoenix is better. The ambience is a lot different, but the service is extremely better. They aren't over crowded like the one in Mesa and lowkey the food was better too! Went with my boyfriend and he got the GKO and I got the Signature and all the meats were delicious! Waiting to come back in a few weeks with him again we really enjoyed it! read more

This is one of many times I have come here for dinner. Fabulous restaurant, food is well worth the price and is amazing every time. The service depends on the server, obviously but I have had varied experiences, but I have never had a blatantly bad experience. Try the GKO (garlic knockout), you won't regret it! Mensho Ramen Just as good as the Mesa location with a much larger dining area, a few differences, one being this one does not have the Duck Matcha Ramen. Love the Karaage Chicken appetizer, onion my favorite along with the Aji Fries, fried Mackerel, these are must haves. Traditional Toripaitan Ramen is my go to bowl of Ramen, with great tasting broth and multiple goodies inside. The Lobster Ramen was a fun one-time experience -- you're definitely paying a premium for the lobster, but it's executed really well. That said, the Cauliflower Tantanmen completely stole the show! It was packed with flavor and by far the best dish we had. Hotate Butter is very true to the name, scallop and butter you can go wrong with it Service: The servers were genuinely kind and friendly. They checked on us regularly and kept our waters refilled without us even having to ask. Top-notch hospitality. read more
I've been dying to try this place! We went with a group of 8 and had about an hour wait to get seated which was fine - we just grabbed a drink at the Thai place across the way. The food was definitely unique and not your standard ramen. I thought the edamame were nothing special and the corn rib app was tasty. For ramen, mine was good but I wish I'd ordered the garlic one that my friend had because that broth was amazing! I was sad to see they don't have wine except plum wine. read more

I can't say this was the best ramen in town. If anything it definitely was the most depth in flavors for the broth. Dont expect spicy from the ramen or any of the dishes even when it says its spicy. Trust me, you can can handle the spice even when you ask for extra. The service and vibes were great for any ramen restaurants. I think overall ,I wont go again . I frequent the Mesa location as often as possible. A server told me about the new Phoenix location having a lobster dish. I tried said lobster dish. It was amazing. I prefer the layout of this location with the large wrap around bar. read more
The food, the service, the ambiance is 5/5! The hand pulled noodles and well-balanced broths are to die for. I'm still dreaming about the bowl of ramen several days later. The Spicy Karaage and A5 Wagyu and Duck Chahu Plate were also so great. The Spicy Karaage could have been better with the sauce as a dipping sauce vs slightly drizzled on top. The Wagyu and Duck plate were so tender and flavorful. I'd get that again in a heartbeat. The Signature Toripaitan Ramen was very very flavorful. I loved the different proteins it included and the broth was rich, creamy chicken flavored. The G.K.O. (Garlic Knock Out) was spicy and very garlicky, lives up to its name! The ramen noodles itself were meaty and honestly the star of the show. The service was on it! So friendly and so welcoming. Keba was amazing and was so personable to make our first time memorable. She and the back kitchen were so quick and from seating to leaving, it took 45 minutes. We came on a Thursday evening around 5pm and there was no wait and restaurant was semi-full. read more
Tried Monsho Ramen for the first time and it did not disappoint! I got the standard ramen and it totally hit the spot--rich broth, perfect noodles, and all the toppings were on point. What really stood out though was how kid-friendly this place is. We had our toddler with us and the staff went above and beyond to make him feel welcome--checking in often, chatting with him, even bringing over little things to keep him entertained. It made the whole experience that much more enjoyable (and stress-free for us parents ). Great food, great vibes, and genuinely kind people. Will definitely be back! read more
Oh wow finally made it into mensho and it lived up to all the hype. Right away you are greeted by the whole staff and seated. We got the fried chicken appetizer and it was so good. They removed the bones as well so it's easy to eat without a mess. Then onto the main I got the lobster wagyu butter ramen and yes it's expensive but you only live once right??? It was so rich and full of flavor. Generous portions of wagyu and lobster. I was in food heaven. For sure will be back sooner than later as it was a terrific experience. read more

Just what I needed. Service was efficient and friendly. Food was amazing. First bite, I just could resist was the a5 wagyu caviar sushi. It is an amazing bite of food. Next I had the Signature Toripaitan, which had an amazing broth, noodles had a good bite, eggs were done nicely, a little truffle but too overpowering. Was still spoiling myself so I made another order of Wagyu and ikura and of Wagyu and caviar to end the meal. Both were so good. read more
Four of us decided to try Menshu Ramen since none of us had been and we all heard good things. Heads up for the uninitiated, like us, the menu differs a bit per location. Read on... It's a cool, modern, comfy-classy-relaxed location! One long rectangular building with multiple restaurants. Restaurants in front, in back and on the sides. All share a parking lot with plenty of parking and a cool courtyard in the middle. *Atmosphere: comfortable and modern, Asian inspired modern feel inside with a mix of standard height tables and booths, high tops, a cool round bar with some fun red neon lights, other cool hanging Asian-inspired lighting fixtures. It's a bit loud, likely from all the hard surfaces, it was packed, so there were lots of people and conversations happening at once. The staff "yells" definitely added noise, read on for more about that. I rate atmosphere 8 of 10. *Food: Presentation was outstanding across the board, beautiful, colorful, fresh, and texture balanced. See the photos I included of our food. My shiitake mushroom was actually branded with the restaurant name, that was cool and it was delicious, like a mushroom "steak". We started with the Karaage - fried chicken. It was crispy and crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft and steamy on the inside with a drizzle of kurozu vinagarette, a few slices of eggplant and a roasted pepper. It was very good. Unfortunately, this location only has 2 broth options, chicken soup and miso, neither are my first choice, or any of ours. They don't have tonkatsu broth at this location but apparently they do at other locations. We thought this was strange and unfortunate. The ramen is expensive here. I ordered the GKO (garlic knock out) with a few extra toppings including 2 eggs and shiitake mushroom. It was $26 for the ramen and $5 for the extra 3 toppings. The other 3 in our group ordered the Signature Toripaitan Ramen at $29 per bowl plus $5 each for extra toppings. They come with a reasonable amount of toppings, but if you want a few more, they're available. I added full menu pictures so you can see everything and all the prices. Check out the $50 bowls. The base on all of our bowls was a "rich creamy chicken soup". The noodles were good, thick, lightly chewy, and heavy, nice. The toppings were very good, fresh, nicely curated, and the broth was very thick and rich and tasted good, not overwhelmingly delicious, a bit flat on flavor, but good. I ate all of mine and 1/2 of a "Signature". They tasted similar, textures and richness were virtually identical. The GKO had a nice garlic under/taste, not overwhelming. For dessert we split the Matcha Latte Pudding. It was good, not an explosion of flavor or overly interesting, a bit muted flavor-wise, but beautiful presentation and smooth light flavor. I rate food 8 of 10. *Service: the service was outstanding. Heads-up, the staff all scream something when you walk in that I believe is supposed to be a "welcome" for all the hungry-hungry-hippos waiting outside and walking through the door. It's kind of charming, but honestly it's shockingly loud as you're talking with your table mates and are periodically and surprisingly drowned out by the shouts. The male staff member who rounded our table/my chair, directly facing me, and screamed the welcome-battle-cry definitely rang our heads hard and reverberated through our noggins for a few minutes after. Our server and the guy who delivered our food were super friendly and knowledgable, we loved their positive, happy, enthusiastic descriptions of all the food, well done. I rate service 9 of 10. *Value: in my opinion $30 for a bowl of ramen soup (let alone the two $50 bowls) is steep, unless it's 'far and away' better than most other ramens. Was this? This was good ramen, good toppings, fresh, well curated, with good service. No doubt. Was it TWICE as good and therefore worth twice the price of other ramens? No, was it a $15-$20 bowl of ramen? Sure, on a weekend, out with friends, having fun, in a nice setting, yea, I can see that. But $186 before tip ($225 after tip) for 4 people who shared one small app, each had one bowl of ramen, 2 people had drinks, and one small shared dessert, it was pricey. I rate value a 7 of 10. *Overall: this was a good experience. I'd like to try another of their locations for their tonkatsu base ramen and see how it stacks up. If it's exceptional, the "value" may be higher in my opinion. The experience here was very good, the ramen was good+, the value for the money is the area I felt could be a bit better. WOW. We're so lucky that Mensho Ramen opened right around the corner from us. Or maybe unlucky depending on whether we want to judge this based on the future state of our stomachs or our wallets. Major thanks to Yelp for this one - I went with the Cauliflower Tantanmen and added an egg (since I'm not actually vegan). It was absolutely incredible. Knockout flavors with the perfect amount of spice. My husband is apparently secretly a ramen aficionado from work lunches and says this was the best ramen he's ever had. There are so many fun ramen options on the menu (lobster and wagyu anyone?) but the Cauliflower Tantanmen was so good that I don't think I can bring myself to order anything else. Speaking of wagyu, though, the wagyu sushi was a top notch starter. We also ordered some sort of octopus balls that were topped with... moving fish flakes? I'm not fancy enough to know what I actually ate, but it had a super unique flavor. Google tells me it was actually Takoyaki and the toppings were bonito flakes. Can't wait to come back! Excellent bowl of ramen, I really enjoyed the food and service here, no complaints. Went last Friday and it wasn't busy, we got seated right away. Broth was thick and flavorful, toppings worked really well, and I felt the portion size was good for how rich it was. Overall, would highly recommend giving this place a try. read more
This isn't just lunch, it's an experience. Walking in, you are welcome with a loud greeting by the whole staff. You sit down to a beautifully set table, placemats... If I had a bigger bag... The menu is perfect. It was hard to decide what to have. The server gave us all the pointers. The hard part, is everything as a favorite. And I can see why. I had, what I believe, could have been the best meal of my life. In a simple, yet not simple bowl of Ramen. The Cauliflower Tantanmen to be specific. The flavors were like nothing I had ever tasted. Like butter, only better. Like the best noodles you've ever had, but better. Everything was just better. And mushroom chips. Whoever thought of this is a genius. They were fantastic. Again, the flavors. Something different. Something unique. Something amazing. Something I didn't want to stop eating. And yet, I had to stop eating it. Because I finished it. I was happily satisfied. Hands down best ramen in Phoenix, closet thing to Japan we've had. Food is delicious and high quality. Service and atmosphere are awesome. They also had a bar you could eat and drink at, def will be coming back. 10/10 read more

My nephew and his girlfriend have raved about this restaurant and I finally got to expedience it with them. Loved the atmosphere. As they walk you to your seat, they yell out a Japanese greeting! We all ordered ramen. The portion size was just the right amount not too little and not too much. I subbed out the pork based broth for a vegetable base and added shaved chicken and their smoked egg for extra flavor. It was delicious. Now that I've checked out this location, I definitely want to check out the Mesa one as they offer different items on the menu! read more
Everything I had here was good although a little on the pricey side for what it was. The edamame ok, but I'd probably try a different appetizer the next time. For ramen I went with the Garlic Knock Out and I thought it was delicious, not too spicy but also the black sauce they add to it was really good. I would definitely get this again. I didn't have wine but in our UYE supper club there I'm almost certain someone had a glass of wine. EDIT: I just checked our pics from that meetup but don't see a wine glass in them so I could be wrong.
