Collagen Dumpling Dynasty is a hidden gem!! This restaurant is completely unique in all aspects. The inside decor is really fun with the added changing video wall. The service is very friendly, with the added bonus of the chef coming out to say hi and recommend extra tasty goodies. And the food....my goodness!! The restaurant is legitimately certified in bone broth cookery and it shows. The dumplings are masterful, and the dishes on the menu are so unique and full of love. I've never had Asian food like this anywhere in the valley; it's an incredible experience. Extra bonuses for being both BYOB and dog friendly!!!! Friends, This review is VERY mixed, let me explain. 1. The food....FANTASTIC. 2. The service....April was beyond friendly, but she was the ONLY server on for the entire restaurant and it was noticeable in the attentiveness that lacked. Again....super super friendly and nice, but she was stretched very thin and I have to give her credit for carrying the entire dining room on her own. 3. The dining room. VERY VERY HOT. We came in around 5pm we're super excited to eat here...but the temperature was unbearably hot and we were told that it was due to the large windows. During our dining, it only got hotter. The temperature in the restaurant made the experience not so great, as we were sweating like we were in a sauna. THIS IS NOT A PAID REVIEW (unlike the others) Let me preface by saying that I am not a Karen and I despise Karen's (sorry if your name is actually Karen) Ill get right into it: Food arrived before water & drinks, upwards of 80 degrees in the restaurant at 7:30 PM, very cheap ingredients, 1 server on Friday night with ~50 seats, 1 cook with mostly automated machines cooking the food, cook taking photos and videos of diners, seeds are left in the fruit used for beverages, 18% in fees (15% service fee and 3% surcharge) before the tip, etc etc, there is a lot more to say but these were the main takeaways. On the up side, server was kind and as attentive as possible (seeing as she's the only one). Take it from a 15 year career restaurateur, this screams "I opened a restaurant for the money and thats all I care about--how cheap can I operate?". This scam of a "restaurant" makes me ashamed of my industry. There are WAY better places to spend $100 on dinner for two. read more

A friend and I went for lunch yesterday. The decor is pretty, though the furniture was more aesthetically appealing than functional. We kept hitting our knees on the two-person table so we moved to the bigger 4-person table. We ordered: -one order of the xio long bao (collagen soup pork dumplings): unfortunately, all but two were broken when brought to us so none of the soup was left -one order of the pan fried pork baos: these were all right. Your usual pork bao fare. -shrimp fried rice: good amount of shrimp and big pieces of egg. They use long grain rice so it's a different texture than usual. -spicy collagen broth rice noodles with beef: flavor was delicious, rice noodles bouncy, beef slices tender but the broth was slightly over salted They brought a house salad on the house and that was refreshing. Oddly enough, one of the highlights as it had a good variety of vegetables and the dressing was light. The server was super nice and attentive to us. It was quieter for a late lunch time. My sister invited me to dinner at a new Asian restaurant, "Collagen Dumpling Dynasty," located very close to where I live, and I had no idea it was there. The restaurant's entire identity is structured around the evolution of Chinese cuisine. Collagen dumplings are a unique culinary creation where a collagen-rich bone broth is transformed into a solid jelly and then folded into the dumpling wrapper. This "secret" ingredient is responsible for the signature explosion of hot liquid found in soup dumplings. The restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing with a tropical rainforest aesthetic. Everyone was very friendly and offered us a few treats to sample. Collagen Fried Dumplings: Inspired by the Tang Dynasty, these crescent-shaped dumplings are pan-fried to create a signature golden, crispy "skirt." I also believe we tried Snowflake Collagen Bao; both were delicious. For entrées, we shared Lemon Chicken (Northeastern Chinese Guobaorou style): $28.99, and Spicy Warrior Noodles: $14.99. Ordered the cucumber salad (huge bowl!), Warrior Noodles, pork soup dumplings (xiao long bao), and mapu tofu. All was soooo flavorful and had great portions! I thoroughly enjoyed the authentic flavors and time dedicated to ensuring the dish is true to northern China. I would get each of these items again! You can't go wrong and if you love spice, there is plenty in the warrior noodles and mapu tofu (if you don't know about this dish, it numbs your mouth from the sichuan peppercorns). A new place on 16th and Georgia! The interior is really awesome. We chose a table near the back and the waitress was very accommodating. She explained the menu and the QR code to get a full menu. We ordered the collagen noodle soup, soup dumplings, chow mein, and a chicken dish that they didn't have (so ordered the lemon chicken instead). My favorite was the lemon chicken, although the chow mein was also very good. I'm not a fan of dumplings but my daughter is and she liked them. We were given (free) bottled water. But they also had tea or lemonade. Don't know if they will have a patio in the future but it looked like it was possible. It was definitely a fun time. Looks and feels brand new, and much fancier than your average Chinese or dumpling restaurant. We were the only ones there for lunch, so service was quick and accommodating. There is no bar or alcoholic options. They offered bottled water (free) or soda products/lemonade. The food ordered this round included: warrior noodles, chili dumplings (with beef), and the "half-moon" - (think flat pan-fried dumpling). All items were great, serving a healthy portion of protein and lots of seasoning/flavor! - Warrior Noodles: definitely our favorite dish, and it's hard to even type this, but there was so much seasoning & meat, we think it needed more noodles to soak up the flavor and/or more veggies to break up the savory meats. - Chili dumplings were good as well, 3.5/5, not very spicy and the broth tasted a bit watery, but once you added some chili oil, vinegar and dumpling sauce - the dish kicked up to 4.5! - Half-Moon was savory and filling! Don't be mad that you only get two cause it was this dish that did me over. Overall, this was a nice spin on Chinese dumplings with the benefits of collagen. TL;DR - pricey , AI generated images of food, it was OK... This a pretty interesting spot. To keep it straightforward I think the dishes were a bit slightly pricer (compared to other places) for the portion you get. Maybe because you get collagen in it? But you're better off just bringing your own collagen at that point lol. This is located inside next to a credit union entrance so just keep a lookout for that. The interior is actually nice. Tall, decorated ceilings and walls give it a nice vibe but I think they spent majority of the budget on that because the entire menu is comprised of poorly generated AI photos. Every single one. I noticed the menu had a lab test result showing that their food is "certified to have collagen" on it with Dragon Flame(good place btw) , a restaurant in Tempe so I'm assuming it's the same owner. For the food I ordered a mapo tofu and beef collagen dumpling soup with rice noodles. The mapo tofu was great. Good flavor and it was needed since the sauce helped bring the bland noodle soup up. The service was nice, there was 1 server that was attentive as we were the only ones in there. I know they just opened up so I'll give them another try in a few months. read more

I think this restaurant is still working through all the steps to get everything perfect. The menu is very interesting with some items not available in late April 2026. What we ordered was very flavorful The best dish was the lemon chicken. We parked on the street. I'm not sure if they have a dedicated parking area. We had reservations and we were seated immediately. We sat at the back of the restaurant where we had a great view of the kitchen area. Doesn't seem like the word has spread that they were open but I'm sure as word gets around how delicious their dumplings are, this place will be slammed! The owner came out and brought us a sampling of his collagen beef dumpling with a thicker type of wrapping. It was flavorful and the beef flavor was very subtle. All the dumplings were soooo fresh and yummy . We ordered the beef collagen full moon too but forgot to take a picture as we dug into them too quick! We're the only people in here, so we sit down and the drink options are limited, they charge $2 for a water bottle when I'm fine drinking tap but they don't offer it. We ordered 3 lemonades on top of that and he brought us teas instead which were more expensive on the menu but he said it's okay since it was his mistake. The chow mein was great. The eastern dumplings were good, the soup dumplings were bad, they had no soup in them and had raw carrots and cilantro on top. We also tried the chili wonton soup, I also thought this was pretty mediocre but everyone else liked it. He however did offer us "free" fried lemon chicken. It was delicious my favorite thing there but it wasn't free. He charged us for it when we didn't order it. We didn't say anything when paying the bill cuz we did eat it but I feel like it was a little schemie. The interior was really nice, I'm assuming that's where all their budget went. He also wouldn't stop talking to us and at first we thought it was sweet but then we were getting annoyed cuz we just wanted to eat and after the "free" chicken offering I wasn't sure if he was pulling our leg. I'm a lover of soup dumplings. These ones were pretty good, but not for what we paid. The dumpling wrappers could've been thinner but the broth had flavor. We stopped in on a weekend during lunch time and it wasn't very busy so we were able to get a table and get served quickly. The interior was very bright. Decided to try Collagen Dumpling on a Friday lunchtime. Unfortunately, it didn't quite wow me. First off, many of the dishes came with a lot of random garnishes that felt unnecessary and a bit overwhelming. We tried the Collagen Fullmoon "meat pie", it was very juicy on the inside, but I wish the exterior had been crispier. The soup bao was decent, but not as soupy as I expected. We also got the pan fried bao and it felt more like a pan-fried xiao long bao rather than something unique. While the photos online look amazing, the actual dishes didn't quite match that presentation. One small but frustrating detail, the plates they use are very slippery and tend to spin, which made it surprisingly difficult to transfer food onto our plates. That said, I did really enjoy the homemade chili oil. It was flavorful and paired well with everything. The ambiance is definitely a highlight: upscale, modern, and stylish with large TVs. Now ordering is all digital on your phone, so if you want everything on one bill order off one phone. We came in for thr soup dumplings. Stopped in here for a weekend lunch and it wasn't too busy. I think there is parking in the garage next to it, but I was able to find parking right on the street. The menus are all on QR codes and that's also how you order. We got some fried dumplings and soup bao, which were both really good. The standout for me was the warrior noodles. They came with a lot of ground meat to make them extra filling. There was also just a little kick of spice. The noodles had a great texture and the dish itself just felt generally silky smooth and flavorful. As we live close by, we so wanted this place to be a regular spot for a quick dinner. Our positivity was unfortunately rather quickly diminished. We ordered the soup dumplings that were very ordinary. The dumpling casings were thick and chewy with not a lot of soup inside. To be fair, the frozen dumplings we purchased at Trader Joes are a lot better. We also ordered the Collagen broth wonton noodle beef that was just ok but with a very small amount of broth for the price. I honestly can't seriously work out how there are so many positive reviews when the food they serve is so very ordinary. Not to mention the price, I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for and this place that is unfortunately definitely not the case. read more

Parking is pretty much limited to street parking, and the restaurant has no signage indicating its entrance, which is inside of a credit union. You order using a qr-code and are provided with an AI-generated menu that doesn't actually describe what's in the dish you're ordering.. There are also two little dogs that just wander around the restaurant and came underneath our table multiple times. Their presence felt a little like a health code violation. We ordered a few different items to try. The soup dumplings were good, but not worth $16. The broth noodle/wanton soups were also just okay; they lacked any depth of flavor. Not worth $20 each. The fried crispy bao and chicken skewers were so oily that we couldn't finish them. Also, be aware of an undisclosed mandatory 15% service fee - we weren't aware and was told it can't be removed. Visited this brand new spot this weekend. Everything was fantastic! We ordered soup dumplings, bao, and mapo tofu. They make chili oil from scratch that is SO good. They use sichuan chilis for the oil so it leaves an interesting sensation in your mouth (if you know, you know). Their broth is made the TRUE way, low and slow with all the bones, which leaves you with a high collagen, high protein base for all the delicious meal options. The service was great; April is such a sweetheart and the owner is super friendly. You can tell that he cares a lot about the quality of the food as well as the happiness of his employees and customers. The ambiance is welcoming and thoughtful touches were put into many aspects of the decor, such as chopsticks engraved with "Dumpling Dynasty". Stopped into this cute restaurant after a comedy show nearby and it was awesome! It's is a little heard to find but well worth keeping an eyes out for it and visit. The lemon chicken came out crispy, well sauced and absolutely delicious. 4 stars with some asterisks. This place has the components of a successful restaurant but I'm not sure it'll sustain. The food was great and we ordered a ton to share. Warrior noodles, pan fried dumplings, lemon chicken, soup dumplings, cucumber salad, etc. All the food hit the spot and the owner is clearly knowledgeable and movtivated about serving "real food" without shortcuts. The atmosphere is also top notch from the furniture to the silverware and dishes. Service was attentive and quick. What they seem to lack is how to pull this altogether with restaurant operations. The physical menus are more of an encyclopedia and cover only ~40% of available items. The online menu was obviously crucial and a bit hard to navigate to make your order. You can't actually save your selections on the app so you have to keep a list in your head and keep scrolling. The food came out wicked fast given we appeared to be the first customers of the evening and it came out all at once. Impressive but it's hard to manage with the small tables and some pacing (maybe dumplings and other starters first with a natural wait for mains?). Hard to complain about quick food but it made things chaotic and provided less opportunity to enjoy each course. Finally, they need to fix the "POS system" fast. It adds a 15% service fee and 3% for credit cards. The poor server had to explain the service fee is not a tip. Seems like they didn't pay for the system and rather try to pass it along to the customer without prior explanation. That leaves you to either short change the server or end up with a total of 30-35% surcharge on your bill. I'd prefer paper menus and a paper bill to save the big charge given it is detracting from the experience rather than adding to it. I also love dogs but am not sure in that environment they should be able to free roam (when not sleeping most of the time). I say all this in hopes they fix the issues as the food and environment seem to be the tough things for most restaurant and they have that covered. Finally, I'm not sure of the liquor license challenges but having 2 beers, a few wines and a few cocktails could make the economics much more favorable for their seemingly significant investment. This is a solid choice for dumplings in the neighborhood. It's just getting on its feet but the decor is lovely and the service is friendly. We tried the full moon, two types of dumplings, the fried rice and a noodle dish. The two non-dumpling dishes were cooked by a robot... maybe I'm crazy but I'm pretty sure. There was a person in the kitchen but also two big machines with touch pad screens that appeared to be cooking our food. It was novel and interesting. My friend found this place on instagram and we were excited to go. Right away it was HOT inside, we asked for water and were brought out water bottles. I'm not sure what that's about. We ordered an appetizer and 10 min later asked for a dish we said would split. We asked for the appetizer to be brought out first but our main dish came shortly after. With no plate to split the food. 30 min later we finish our food and I asked the waitress about the appetizer, and I think they forgot it so I had to remind them. The food was SO OILY! Totally saturated. Our waitress never came back to ask how the food was, no napkins, nothing. Everything tasted salty and soy. Also no beer or wine served. Our tab was about $52, there was a service fee and credit card fee! It was a nice atmosphere if you can get past the heat. I hate to say it but the food did not taste special or authentic.
