There was a huge parking lot in the back, so parking wasn't an issue. They had indoor and outside seating. Tried for the first time with a couple of friends, for lunch. Very friendly server got our drinks and orders. I got an order of their renowned Dragon Eggs dumpling app to share. We were not impressed. I ordered them crispy style, they were not. The wrappers were like a firm ravioli texture, and the filling was a rather dense & chewy sausage. I had the Mu Yang, which is noted to be the dish Guy Fieri from DDD had. Received 3 good sized skewers of grilled pork, a nice portion of sweet sticky rice, and papaya salad, a green sauce was provided for dipping. This was delicious! I ordered level 2 spicy, there was room for more Thai flavor. Thai iced tea was fine, server was very good, sound level was awfully loud, due to low, hard ceiling. I see why the Wild Thaiger has been open all these years and I am sad that I passed it by so long ago. I am happy to say that I did not pass it by this time and met a few friends there for lunch last week. I got there before them and was warmly greeted by a server who helped push the tables together for our party of five. After checking out the menu I decided to get one of their cold sakes. It was lemon flavored, but nog too sweet. Once my friends arrived we decided to get a few appetizers, my favorite waa the chicken wraps that came with this amazing peanut sauce! It was a little hot and spicy, but full of flavor. I actually ended up adding it to my meal. I ended up getting the fat one that came with thick noodles topped with broccoli, carrots, onions, and red peppers. I enjoyed every bite until I could not! It did not help that I tried a bowl of my friends curry soup! It had just the right amount of spice with chicken, mushrooms, onions, and scallions. Trust your server! My friend and I had no idea what we wanted to eat so we gave the server these parameters: curry with beef, something mostly vegetables but without curry, soup. You can tell from the pictures that everything was pleasing to the eye, but the bad thing is that I lost my receipt so I can't list the names of the dishes, but everything was so flavorful and each dish was distinct so we were so glad to have trusted our server and for a fun experience, you might want to do the same. The food is excellent it balances savory with functional heat and they are not stingy with the portions If you eat with your eyes first then you will be full before you ever take a bite. Came at lunch time on a Wednesday. It was not busy. We opted to sit outside because it was a nice October day and it was pretty loud inside. The good: The food had amazing flavor. I had Beef Kiewan. It was a good portion. Nice and spicy but not too spicy, and had two kinds of eggplant. It came with a spring roll, which was standard but tasty. The ok: the green beans seemed a little undercooked. Service was pretty nonexistent. After dropping off the food no one came back until we were done and ready for the check. The water didn't taste great - like melted ice. I met up with a group of people here for dinner one evening and we were seated outside on the patio, which felt intimate as no other groups were dining out there at the same time. Even though it is the summer, it felt comfortable out there as the sun set and the misters kicked in. Our server was wonderful and handled our large party with understanding and grace, splitting our checks and making sure our waters were full. I started with the fresh rolls appetizer with tofu. These had a beautiful presentation and the quantity was good. The peanut sauce was so tasty, I could have easily used another one. The rolls were fresh as advertised, but a bit boring without any sauce. For my entree, I ordered the fat ones dish: fat rice noodles, spicy chili-garlic, basil, broccoli, carrots, sweet onions and snow peas. Again, presentation was lovely as the colors of the veggies were bright and appealing. Spice level was accurate as well, definitely spicy. However, the dish was missing more flavor, would've loved some sauce to add to it. Portion size was not as big as I expected after seeing my companions' dishes and I had no leftovers. Very interesting spot. We actually pulled into their parking lot to look for somewhere to eat. Decided to give it a shot. We sat outside - it was a bit noisy but our friend and my husband wanted to sit outside so there we sat . Service was great, everyone takes care of everyone. We didn't have a chance to need for anything. They were on top of it. Hubby had the Volcano said it may reminded him of a lettuce wrap you would get at PF Changs except with a nice kick. He said it had the perfect amount of heat and really liked it. My friend ordered the Broccoli Beef and she it was very tasty - she picked around it so I am hoping she was honest. She is very nice and doesn't complain much. The sticky rice is super sticky and my husband said it was delicious - so pretty authentic and everything is presented beautifully. If you do not like cilantro be sure to ask them to not put it on anything - they added it to everything. I hate Cilantro and it's not advertised on the menu that they garnish everything with it. I ordered an appetizer that was wrapped in paper and had veggies and chicken. The peanut sauce wasn't my thing, so the waitress suggested the plum sauce - wayyyy too sweet so the waiter suggested a vinegar like sauce. Did the trick as the chicken was super dry. Everyone was pleasantly surprised with the food. My husband said his pork dish was very fresh. One thing I would check is to see if they have MSG in their food. Wild Thaiger was more-or-less in the heart of Downtown Phoenix. The restaurant served traditional and unique food choices. The Pad Thai was presented well, the flavor was good, but leaned on the drier side. The Dragon Eggs tasted great and had a nice kick! I knew Wild Thaiger was good. I'd eaten there before, and I saw the DDD episode years ago. But I forgot how good it is! Last night, a best friend and I decided to check it out again. What an amazing meal! The dining room was crowded but we were seated quickly. Service was ever present and the appetizer and entrees came out quickly. And check out the photo of my curry. That's some upscale plating. The beef in my entree was so tender, it was almost ridiculous. And the red curry was hands down the best I've ever tried anywhere. So yummy! A little gem. The Mu Yang was delicious. The pork was perfect, the sticky rice was soooo good, and I loved their papaya salad. I could eat this everyday, it was so fresh, light, and tasty. My friend got one of the noodle dishes with chicken - I think The Fat One - and he got it spicy. They truly make things spicy here so be aware if you're ordering :) he loved it and orders it often. The dragon eggs were also yummy! We got half crispy and half steamed. Love the sauce they came with. I could've eaten them all myself easily. I think the inside is super cute. I would love to give this place 5 stars, but it took forever to get seated, so not a great start. That being said, it has a really cute layout, and I especially liked the small bar area that holds about 3-4 people with a TV. I may try that area out someday. Anywho, once we were taken to our high-top table outside by a random server we flagged down as he passed, we hoped the experience would improve, but it didn't. It was clear the restaurant was understaffed because all the servers seemed preoccupied at every level. So, we went into emergency mode: quickly scanning the menu, deciding on our food and drinks, and preparing to order the moment somebody - anybody - walked by. I told my friend, "Since my back is to the door, just flag down whoever you catch eye contact with 1st." After about 15 minutes, we got snagged someone (well we hope they work there - guess we'll never truly know, we were desparate!) So, once we finally placed our order with the alledged server, the service shot up to a 10. We received our food in record time: Veggie rolls - Absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked, and not greasy at all. Veggie Green Curry - Tasted like someone sat all day monitoring the flavors until they hit the right spot--so delicious. Beef Panang - My friend devoured it in record time and said it was pretty good. Chicken fingers (for his 2-year-old son) - These must have been the best chicken fingers on the planet because they didn't stand a chance against his tiny fingers. Suffice it to say, the food was the star of the show, and our server ended up being attentive and extremely pleasant. Love this place! Very nice interior, we were asked if we wanted a table or booth, which I appreciated. The menu specified which dishes are gluten free (yay). I asked if the other dishes could be modified gluten free and she said no, which I was disappointed because usually they can be modified. But those dishes are probably with pre prepared sauces. I did appreciate there was a specific gluten free pad Thai and that's what I ordered (with fried tofu). I will say this is one of my favorite pad Thais I've had in a long time. It was a huge portion, came out steaming hot, the tofu was so good. The sauce was not too sweet which I have experienced at other places. The food came out so fast as well. I used to love this place and swore by it! I recently came here with a friend after raving about it and was left disappointed. Not sure it was due to lunch time business but the food was average. The chicken in my yellow curry was dry and the potatoes undercooked, the curry also tasted rushed- not like a true authentic curry with depth of flavor. In addition to this the dragon eggs we ordered weren't crispy like we ordered and was still a bit cold in the middle, they just didn't taste fresh. We got the volcano and it was supposed to be Thai hot, but it was not the Thai hot I was expecting. It took about 5 bites of the wrap to start feeling some spice. I got the pad Thai as well, but the medium hot translated to no spice at all. Luckily they had the Thai chili there on the table to add to it. The drinks were okay, nothing out of the ordinary. Have been determined to try many different items on the menu, so returned to try Candy Chicken with vegetables. The waitress promised vegetables not delivered. I wished to be given zucchini. Received several pieces of cauliflower which was not mentioned by her, and because I hate cauliflower I would have told them to leave it out in favor of more bock choy or broccoli. Ate a piece of cauliflower to give it a chance: flavorless and sad. Thai seasonings are usually much more complex and delicious. I wasn't asked nor did I specify a heat level. Went to Wild Thaiger and got the Pad Thai with fried tofu Let me first say thank you so much to the staff for being so kind despite us coming in 30 minutes before close. We had planned to go to another Thai restaurant, but they were closed and couldn't shake the craving so we decided on WT. The flavors were absolutely there! Would have loved for the tofu to be fried a little harder and less garnishments but I was still very satisfied with my meal. The portion could have been a little bigger as well, as I was able to eat the entire thing (not typical lol) and sad I had no left overs lol. It was also very clean inside which is very important to me because I will walk tf out of it looks or smells dirty in any establishment. All in all the service was great and so was the food!
