Love Buck and Rider. The fresh seafood is flown in daily, and you can really taste the difference. It's honestly hard to find great seafood in Arizona, but Buck and Rider makes it easy. Brooke, our beautiful waitress, was incredibly helpful and made great recommendations. She even humored my husband with his bad jokes and constant yapping. We had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely be back the next time we're in town.
Never disappoints, not once. Service is always great and never had a bad bite. Great place to go and celebrate! Some highlight dishes, Crudo Calamari Voodoo rice Fish is so good, but steaks are top notch too Lemon Meringue Pie!
I came here with a friend who's been here and it did not disappoint. I had ordered an espresso martini then we shared oysters, crispy rice with tuna on top (soooooo yummy!) and then I ordered halibut and he got salmon. Both fish was so yummy! I want to come back and try new dishes Service was very friendly and attentive. Didn't have to wait too long to be taken care of. The place is so cool. I like the letters that move that's cool.
A fabulous experience from service to food to outdoor seating. Our waitress was attentive as well as excited to share her favorites with us. She was phenomenal and I wish I had grabbed her name. She was the cherry on top! The food....OMG, the oysters! They were delicious! We tried (and our favorite in order from favorite to least - but all so good!): Rock Point, Malpeque, and Coromandel. For cocktails we tried Golden Hour which was a lovely surprise in flavors and Secret Garden which was sweet and light in flavor but also heavy on the palate, and the bee pollen was fun and complimented the drink very well. Our dinner options were: 6 piece nigiri, deluxe spicy tuna roll, NZ King Oro Salmon with broccolini, and South Texas Red Fish with broccolini. We are excited to go back for Happy Hour in the near future.
Buck & Rider is an upscale seafood restaurant close to Arcadia near 44th street and Camelback. We came for lunch on Wednesday. We were seated immediately after arriving and our waiter, Trevor, was right there to greet us. This was our first visit so Trevor took some time to talk about some menu items with us. We ordered and our food came out pretty quickly. I ordered crab cakes. They were the best I've ever had. They were crab meat, sauce in a panko crust. None of the mostly stuffing with some crab pieces thrown in. Delicious! They wet accompanied by the summer green beans and corn. This was served cold, like a salad with a light dressing and some shavings of Parmesan on top. Amazing! My wife doesn't like seafood, so she had a pasta dish. Buck & Rider was kind enough to replace the shrimp with chicken for her. We split a banana cream pie for dessert. Great graham cookie base, banana cream and then whipped cream on top. Sliced banana on the side of the dish and everything was sprinkled with chocolate shavings. Excellent! This was a great place to have lunch. We'll be back!
Buck and Rider never disappoints. I took my family for a Saturday brunch and had an excellent experience. What a classy restaurant and the service is always amazing. We started out with the ceviche, which is a great portion for four people. I had the New York strip steak and eggs, which was cooked perfectly tasted amazing. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!!!
This was a good restaurant with good service. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was okay. I was expecting lots of flavor and they just didn't have that. We got the biscuits and Brussels sprouts as appetizers. The Brussels sprouts were really good, they came with a cheese sauce that paired amazingly. Biscuits had a honey butter and garlic flavor. Overall I will give this restaurant 4 out of 5.
Came to Buck & Rider for a dinner date with a friend, and it was a completely flawless experience from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this spot for an eventful dinner or a great date night. The Food & Drinks: We ordered the red snapper served with a side of whole carrot and the sea bass served with a side of broccolini. The fish was incredibly fresh, light, and flavorful! To top it off, we ordered a classic margarita on the side, which paired perfectly with the meal. I already need to go back just to try the other specials on the menu. The Ambiance & Service: We made a reservation ahead of time to be safe, and we were seated immediately upon arriving. We visited during the transition from winter to spring when the evening air was a bit chilly, but they had a heater placed perfectly near us to keep everything warm and comfortable. The service was top-tier our food arrived in a quick 12 to 15 minutes after ordering. Logistics: We used their valet service for the car, and just like the rest of the night, it was prompt, professional, and effortless. Money and time well spent.
The food is always exceptional and to top it off the service is amazing. The inside is so warm and inviting and if you like outdoors it's beautiful as well. You definitely get your moneys worth and will leave there wanting more.
Happy hour woohoo!!!!! reservation system TRASH but I like going. Service is pretty average basically what you'd find at longhorn steakhouse. Managers are supreme. Alex is wonderful and a joy. I love the oysters always fresh and shucked to PERFECTION. Ceviche. Sushi. Fish but not the snapper. greatness on camelback. And this is the best location. Oh and save room for dessert banana pie is to die for.

They fly their fish in fresh everyday so if you want great seafood, this is THE PLACE! You can get sushi or steak, or many different varieties of fish. We got: 1. Crunchy Tuna Roll: great starter and tasted amazing 2. Shrimp Scampi Risotto: shrimp was huge and the whole dish was bursting with flavor, will be wishing for more! 3. Soft Crab Sushi Roll: this was good, but was not my fav of the night 4. Banana Crème Pie: Absolutely Delish!!!! 5. Chocolate Cake: my wife got this with the ice cream and she loved it. The place is busy, and we went on a Monday so try and make reservations ahead of time.

Some girl friends and I went to buck & rider for AZ restaurant week and loved the menu offerings. You get so much good food for the price! I started with the voodoo fried rice which was amazing. I also got the filet mignon with broccolini which was so buttery. The steak melted in my mouth. We also got gelato for dessert with a cookie which was the perfect way to end the meal. Our server was very friendly and offered us plenty of time to figure out our orders between us catching up. We never ran out of water and they let us stay for a while after we finished our meal while we talked which was so kind. We sat inside which was nice. I'd never been before so I was surprised how spacious and how much seating this restaurant had. The only parking option outside is valet which made the experience feel even more luxe. This was a great classy girls nice!

To live in Arizona & think about getting seafood or shellfish is definitely the furthest thing on my mind since we are in a desert. Decided to try out this restaurant. Location beautiful, staff friendly & vibe immaculate. The oysters amazing! I did indulge all 6 they had on the menu to which my favorite were Misty Point, Va & Buck & Rider AK! Was recommended the Hamachi Crudo DELICIOUS. My Server Jane has such a beautiful spirit, knowledgeable & truly amazing service. I did go for lunch so it was more lowkey which meant everyone was relaxed and just enjoying the day for a Monday, as a lunch spot I recommend! Only took a photo of the Lemon Meringue pie & the details of how high that meringue sat was no joke. Thank you Jane! read more

New to Phoenix and decided to try Buck and Rider for the oyster happy hour! The oysters were very tasty and fresh. We decided to try the Buck and Rider Oysters and we made the right choice. They were briny and crisp. The calamari is definitely something to try if you are here for happy hour. It is crispy and fresh. I was a little disappointed about the voodoo rice, the flavor was lacking but the sauce from the calamari helped. We also ordered to rounds of cocktails (not pictured) 40-love and Ace in the hole. Always love Buck & Rider. Solid spot for seafood. Let me tell you something. I was craving a mean fish sandwich and some greens. Only spot in town that solidly delivers on both. Normally their lunch sandwich special comes with fries but you can sub it out for the 3 main sides of the day. Options were corn, mashed potatoes, or broccolini. I was craving asparagus or broccolini so it was perfect for me. The greens were lightly charred but crunchy and soft at the same time. Lunch portions of the sandwich also weren't massive. The sandwich had a white fish breaded and fried. The patty was decent without being thick or oily. Good amount of tartar sauce spread on it as well. If the sandwich was any bigger then work afterwards wouldn't have been fun. Oh, also got a delicious dirty martini to pair with the food. Gin served down and it was made to perfection! Including the drink and an $8 tip the total for lunch was $48. Which isn't horrible. Been craving oysters recently so probably will be back for dinner and get an appetizer and dessert too. We were celebrating our four year anniversary with a date night dinner. I had heard lots of good things about Buck & Rider and wanted to give it a try, despite not being the biggest seafood fan in the world. We arrived around 6:15 for our priority seating reservation, which wasn't until 630 but considering we didn't know what parking would be like we wanted to ensure we were there on time. We waited outside the restaurant since it was pretty crowded on the inside waiting space, they had cool water jugs for those of us not wanting to order a drink while we were waiting. Our table was ready around the same time for our reservation, and we were waited on attentively upon sitting down. I believe our waiter's name was Lorenzo, we had expressed that this was our first time and we also were wanting to try oysters for the first time so he gave us good recommendations on which one would be a good fit for us. We ended up trying the sweet Jesus oysters, and of course I am not a fan, but my husband was willing to give it another shot another day. I think one of the biggest positives about it being a mostly seafood base restaurant as it doesn't smell like a seafood restaurant normally does, the environment aspires to be romantic. However, the noise level really makes it difficult to hear whoever you're with. My husband was sitting literally shoulder to shoulder with me, and I struggled immensely to carry on meaningful conversation because of competing with other tables noise levels. The fish was cooked to perfection and the lemon butter sauce was to die for, the broccolini was delicious as well. My husband enjoyed his fish however he did say that for the price we paid for the fish he thinks the fillet should've been bigger. He also enjoyed his asparagus side. They were able to arrange the sign to say happy anniversary to us, I just don't have the picture since it's on my husband's phone. We celebrated the end of our dinner experience with a slice of chocolate cake, which was so delicious, and the pistachio gelato. Overall, it was a good dining experience, but it will definitely be a while before we return due to it being a more pricey dining option as well as the loud environment. * side notes: *parking is valet, only which is complementary, if you don't have cash, your valet attendant can take Venmo as a tip form. *Bathrooms are extremely clean, men and women, but women's has only two stalls so you may be waiting a while. read more

Got seated at the bar. The food is always good. The ribs fell off the bone. The banana cream pie IS SO DELICIOUS and i kinda don't like banana. I love the breading on the calamari as well. Our server did keep giving us the bill, but we would add more stuff and they would reprint the receipt. Felt like we were getting a little rushed. Lots of seating inside, crowded most of the time. Met up with some girlfriends and it was absolutely packed due to it being restaurant week. Our server was friendly but the restaurant itself was very loud and hard to talk. I don't like seafood but I'd love to come back a less busy time to try some other options on the menu! read more
So good! Highly recommend to make a reservation. We made one and were seated right away. They are dog friendly!! We sat on the patio. Perfect vibes. I like how they had planters around the area so it didn't make it seem like the parking lot was right next to you. Valet only but it's free. We got shrimp cocktail to start. YUM! The shrimp are the plumpest. We also got the hamachi roll. Super good and would recommend. For main dishes, I picked a bass (grilled) and my husband got the yellowtail snapper (fried). Both were so delicious but I do think the flaky bass tasted just slightly better. Shout out to our server. He was super attentive and made excellent recommendations. I'm a huge fan of Buck & Rider, so when I had friends and colleagues--who are seafood lovers--come to visit, Buck & Rider was an easy choice for dinner. We made an early dinner reservation for our party of five on a Wednesday evening. I've been to the Gilbert location numerous times, but it was my first time at this location. Parking is a bit challenging, but they do offer valet. Buck & Rider has one of the best happy hours in the Valley, so naturally, they were super busy when we arrived. Regardless, we were still seated right away. We decided to order family-style and share the following items: Fresh pull-apart dinner rolls $12 Hamachi and salmon roll $18 Hamachi crudo $19 Tuna crispy rice $19 Baja shrimp ceviche $19 Crispy Brussel sprouts $18 We each ordered a drink as well. Even though they no longer carry it, Buck & Rider can still make the Yellow Jacket upon request. It's their spicy mezcal cocktail and it's so delicious and balanced! The food and drinks are consistent across their restaurants. Fresh and tasty. Great portions, too. I've tried many different items from B&R and can honestly say, you can't go wrong with any of them! Upon looking for a spot to reconnect with old friends, I chose Buck & Rider. We ordered a variety of seafood dishes both cooked and raw. Everything was a hit, but the appetizers, shrimp ceviche and crispy rice tuna stood out the most to me! The hamachi crudo was also top tier in terms of freshness and serving size. The only thing I wouldn't reorder was the Trofie Pasta, due to my preference for larger pasta shapes. Our server Melissa gave the best energy. She made us feel so comfortable and taken care of. Buck & Rider was my first dinner "out" since newly moving to Arizona and I will definitely never forget it!! Overall exceptional service, food, and an alluring dark/moody atmosphere. read more
This is my favorite Buck & Rider location! I think they have the best food here and the best energy to go with it. It's usually always busy and super lively making this a perfect spot for any kind of celebratory meal or dinner and drinks before going out. People usually look super nice here too, so if you're into dressing up, you totally can here! But it can also be casual as well, so it's a nice mix. I really love the bar area and patio. I also love that they will let you get drinks at the bar and have them out front if there is a wait for your table. Service at all locations is always super attentive while not being overbearing. As far as food, the shrimp risotto is my personal fave and while it can be perfect sometimes and not as perfect other times, it is probably the best risotto I've ever had when it's seasoned just right. It lemony and bright with a little seafood flavor from the shrimp and super creamy, decadent rice. I also love any of their catch of the day items and of course all of their raw items from the seafood tower to the crudo. The cocktails too are super well balanced and compliment the food well. Parking here can be difficult but ride sharing or valet is perfect. Don't miss Buck & Rider if you love seafood and are in Phoenix. read more

First time trying this location and give yourself a couple extra minutes because it's valet only and it can get a bit backed up. It's complimentary and tip them of course. One of the best crispy tuna rice in the valley or ever. Came for restaurant week and great pricing especially if you get the filet. The fried rice very yummy and great flavor, the soft shell crab roll is the special but I didn't like how big the pieces are. Wish it was cut a tad smaller to fit better in my mouth to make it easier to eat. Thank you to our server Chase who was amazing and made great suggestions. The entire restaurant recognized my birthday many times to make me feel special, even wrote a card and gave me macarons I could cry when he stopped at my table. It's my first time coming here while visiting Phoenix. My bf asked if I'd like seafood for lunch (silly of him to not know the answer), but I told him I've been having major seafood cravings. They have fresh raw oysters sourced and flown in daily from all over the world. You can taste the quality from the briny oysters. We also had king crab legs prepared hot with butter and seasoning, jumbo stone crab legs served on ice. Both were incredible. Then we had salmon pan seared with broccolini, which was a great pairing. Overall, I love the lax vibe here, eating fresh seafood while people watching. The staff were helpful and friendly. I look forward to coming back here when I'm in town again! read more
Delicious delicious delicious! The interior and atmosphere felt cozy with the low lit setting. Our server was so kind and quick with our order. We came in with the intention of getting some steak tartare but unfortunately, it was removed from their menu. They did not disappoint with these dishes though! I'm not usually a fan of tuna but the tuna here was so fresh and there was no fishy scent or taste. The oysters were great and the side sauces accentuated their flavor without being overpowering. Definitely swing by here if you want some fresh tuna and oysters. read more
I tried this restaurant about two weeks ago while I was in Phoenix and I must say the reviews were on point. Please read the website info on this restaurant when it comes to making reservations because it does get packed. I knew I was going alone, so I knew I was going to eat at the bar. I can tell you from the time I walked in till when I got seated it was maybe a total of 15 minutes and they even allowed me to order a drink while I waited. For it to be so packed on a Sunday evening the service was top-tier. Now let's get to the happy hour menu, the happy hour menu is quite generous and the portions do not skimp at all. I've been wanting ceviche while I was in Phoenix and that's exactly what I got as one of my appetizers. I still had a couple of minutes left on the happy hour menu so I was able to place my order for the ceviche. I wish I had a big enough appetite because I only had two appetizers and two drinks but I will say this the food is delicious. Being able to say you have great seafood at a restaurant in Phoenix and you're from California is top-tier. The next time I come back to Phoenix, I am coming back to Buck and Rider. I had one of my best birthday dinner dinners at Buck and Rider tonight. We all had excellent food and I think my scallops are the best in the valley. The restaurant is lively, but you receive your order quickly and perfectly. Our waiter Chase took great care of us and offered suggestions and descriptions about the food. Chris came by to make sure everything was to our liking and to wish me a happy birthday. We all had a great time, a great meal and did not feel like they were trying to rush us out of the door. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the freshest seafood, steaks, and even hamburger. read more

PLEASE COME TO ATLANTA! If they opened a Buck & Rider in ATL, we'd be there a couple times a month. A local on our sunset horseback ride recommended it as one of his favorite date-night spots, and wow -- he wasn't kidding. This was hands down the best food, best value, best quality, and best service of our entire trip. Vibe: Energetic, bustling, clearly a hot spot but still great for date night, business dinners, family meals... or, according to staff, a "meet-up," too ;) Reservations: The place was slammed on a Sunday at 6:30, but we got lucky as a party of two and grabbed seats at the sushi bar Service: Fantastic. Our waitress and the sushi chef were both so warm, helpful, and fun to chat with Happy Hour: Daily 3-7pm and surprisingly legit Food Highlights: * Oysters: Loved the unique Thai chili accompaniment. * Baja shrimp ceviche: Generous portion and great balance of shrimp, veggies, citrus, and acidity. I loved the market catch board showcasing fresh selections; it added such a cool and unique touch to the space. It does get quite loud, but it's still a fun place to share a great meal with friends. I've never been an oyster person because of the flavor and raw texture, but all my friends ordered them and convinced me to try them. To my surprise, the sauces I picked completely changed the experience. The oysters tasted so much better than I expected. This is when Steak 44 did the impossible: they actually turned me into an oyster person! Now the Shrimp Scampi Risotto deserves its own spotlight. Absolute perfection. I went to Buck & Rider for my birthday in late October. This is obviously a very popular restaurant. I had a reservation but still there was a wait for my table. The staff made the wait bearable and offered a drink and apps while I waited. I was seated quicker than I expected considering how busy they were. Once seated I was immediately greeted and able to ask questions and order. The food was delicious. I had multiple items and loved all of them. Went for brunch for the first time and was really impressed. We ordered a few dishes to share, and every single one was delicious--great flavors, well-prepared, and perfect for splitting. The staff stood out right away; everyone was so kind, attentive, and professional without being overbearing.
