Our server Jacob was excellent and very professional and friendly. He checked on us regularly and never left us waiting for service. We started with dirty martinis and they were prepared perfectly. Icy and filled to the rim. I ordered the Short Rib Potstickers $19- As an entree. Toasted sesame, cilantro, ponzu. Delicious. A good amount of short rib in each potsticker and plenty of sauce. My husband ordered the Blackened Sea bass Tacos $28 - blue corn tortilla, grilled pineapple salsa, red cabbage slaw, poblano crema. He loved these tacos. He said they were very, very good and the fish was cooked perfectly. For a side, we ordered the Spicy Double Egg Fried Rice. $9. Wow, this was packed with flavor. A nice size for the price. This is the second location I have visited. My first visit was to the location in West Hollywood, California. This location definitely takes the cake in ambiance. It is beautiful, spacious, and has two floors! The setting is clearly above your usual brunch spots and the booths offer a more intimate experience. My party and I were privileged to sit in direct view of the open kitchen. We got to see and hear the kitchen staff working together and communicating smoothly. We even heard the "hands" announcements like you see on The Bear TV show! I believe the food here was on par with the West Hollywood location, so points for consistency. Unfortunately, I have the same qualms for flavor for their dishes. I tried the short rib pot stickers, the tortilla soup, and the Bolognese pasta. I would say that the flavors were not especially strong for each dish. I think they each needed a pinch of extra seasoning to really make their flavors pop! Moreover, I tried my girlfriend's Rigatoni Alla Vodka and the cheese had no taste! Nevertheless, the dishes were beautiful. Lastly, I had a bit of an issue with our service. Had a business lunch here recently, made reservations and was greeted at the front just fine. Really liked the decor here, ambiance was quite lively and busy. This spot was poppin' on a Wednesday afternoon. Service was a bit too slow for my liking. Took what felt like 20 minutes for our drink orders to come out (literally just ordered some iced teas). My iced green tea was delicious though. Took about another 30 minutes it felt for our salad orders to come out. My Sprouts and Squash salad was pretty good and I added the Scottish Salmon to it. An expensive salad better taste...well, luxurious and I'd say it almost did the job. We used valet service for my car and luckily they parked her right out front when we exited the restaurant. This location of The Henry is very large, and had a breakfast/coffee bar area that I'll have to come back and check out. Emma was the hostess and when I asked about the happy hour menu, she said you have to be seated in certain areas to take part in it. She offered to move me if I decided I wanted to move later. Jenna was our waitress and was super awesome, making an exception for our table to have the happy hour specials. I really appreciated this. She recommended the Uptown Cocktail and it was great!! We tried the Umami Brussel Sprouts which were a 10/10! So good, highly recommend! We also tried the Short Rib Potstickers which were good. I knew I would love this place before I even stepped foot into the establishment. Sometimes you just have a good feeling about a place because of how it presents but don't even realize that it could be even better than expected. Well, that is the case with The Henry's location in Arcadia. It has been such a pleasure to dine here for a casual coffee and get work done, lunch, dinner or brunch. Each occasion has been quite enjoyable with great customer service, well flavored food and just a lovely place to have any meal. Here is a list of items I have tried: 1.Egg White Turkey Omelet with home fries. Minus the Turkey- A great brunch option with a generous egg white and mixed veggies with well seasoned home fries. 2.Scottish Salmon with risotto and beets- This dish was very interesting and the combination of flavors surprisingly complemented each. Especially the sweet flavor of the beets pulled the dish together. 3.Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice* and side of fries- Such a great appetizer. I love rice but this dish was an interesting twist on what form rice can come in and was still happy! 4.Cinnamon Coffee Cake and Cinnamon Tea- The cinnamon cakes was tasty and a good size. The tea complemented cake very well. 5.Bagel and Cream Cheese- You can't mess this up. 6.French Toast- Solid Brunch option and well balanced sweetness with light cream cheese frosting. If you love a cinnabon the this was its cousin. 7.Flower Child Scrambled with Eggs Whites- Such a large portion and wholesome meal. Loved that they were able to accommodate the request to do egg whites and not have any meat. Smoked Pineapple Margarita- I was told it tastes as good as it looks. The staff here are just top notch. I love that they have :uniforms" which keeps things so dignified and classy. Plus, the spoon tie pin is just such a neat detail. I just can't rave about this place enough. Clean restrooms, great indoor and outdoor seating. Plus, they are smart about having the private rooms available for open seating off to the side of the Cafe area when no event is being held. We had reservations to sit outside, but the table was tiny, so we decided to move to the bar and I'm so glad we did because the service was fantastic. The bartender was incredibly friendly and made the whole experience even better. Their margarita was delicious and so refreshing. I loved that it's made with only three ingredients and you can really taste how clean and balanced it is. For our appetizer we ordered the Pressed Yellowtail Sushi. It was really flavorful and beautifully presented. The only thing I wish they had was a little wasabi on the side. For dinner we split the Braised Short Rib and it was incredible. I dream of their umami brussel sprouts, which is the perfect mix of cheese and sweet soy. This place is AMAZING! The food, service, and ambiance are all 5 stars. First, a huge shout-out to my waiter, Ben. He was doing some next-level multitasking and didn't skip a beat. The best service you'll ever see the food the best food you'll ever eat and the coffee always great and fresh and just the overall environment is just perfect even if you want to just go work/ study at the tables, you can do that as well. We used to go here quite a bit and it was always hit or miss, so we stopped going for a while. We decided to try it out again. Unfortunately, it was not the best experience. They seated us at a table that looked like it wasn't cleaned. Crumbs all over the table and chairs. We had to ask someone to clean it before we could sit. Our server was not super friendly. She did the job, but did not go above or beyond. They were out of the seabass tacos that I wanted and when we asked why because it was before noon, she said "I don't know, I'm just the messenger." The didn't even offer to find out about it. That being said, the person sitting next to us was eat the fish tacos so just have gotten the last one? The food took a really long time to come out. Our server didn't let us know, but one of the managers came was nice enough to come out and apologize. She said the kitchen was having a hard time keeping up. We've seen this place busier than it was this time, so not sure why they were having such a hard time. Unfortunately, by the time the food came out, the ahi tuna green curry dish and hot honey chicken sandwich/fries were cold. The Korean skirt steak was also cooked more than medium. Oh wow, I had a random out-of-nowhere craving for steak (though honestly, not sure what that means). I checked Yelp and landed on The Henry. They offer delivery, so I gave it a shot. I went with an All-American burger, as is, medium, with cheese and a bit nervous because beef often bothers my senses, but this burger was amazing! NO weird beefness AT ALL. It traveled super well and was packed perfectly. Maybe a tiny bit salty for me, but salt is subjective, so no biggie. I added Umami brussels sprouts as a side (for an upcharge) and they were totally worth it! Big serving and cooked just right. I was full halfway through the burger but still finished every bite. Honestly, one of the best burgers I've had, and when I ~was more of a burger person, I preferred cheeselessness. I also got a quinoa bowl (they serve breakfast until 3pm), just in case the burger was a dud, so it's still waiting to be eaten, but I did snack on some potatoes with salsa and cotija cheese, which was ummyumm. The restaurant is beautiful. The decor, furniture, wallpaper, and even the staff outfits with the spoon tie clips are so cute! We had a cute spot right near the bar. The restaurant provided us with complimentary champagne for our birthday celebration which was wonderful! We ordered our drinks. Drinks were good! Very refreshing. We ordered margaritas and spritzers. We ordered some appetizers. The short rib potstickers and truffle fries. Both delicious. For our meals, we ordered the egg white turkey omelette, breakfast sandwich, ham and cheese quiche, and club sandwich. All were delicious and everybody really enjoyed their meal. The service was great. Their water (weirdly to say) is the best water! So yummy and crisp! All in all, we will be back, and look forward to our next visit.
