I have come multiple times and even introduced a friend to it. I love the ambiance and yes the food is very good. They offer lunch specials and my top favorite is the pad Thai only thing missing is more bean sprouts and a slice of lime but it is delicious. I also like their hot and sour soup. Service was attentive and friendly. Prices are on the high end. The menu has a very large selection. The last two times I've been here i have been very disappointed. I don't know if they've changed recipes or perhaps chefs, but something is off. The last time there i had the sautéed spicy beef. LOTS of beef, very few vegetables. The problem? Flavor was a bit off putting and so incredibly salty. And I mean OMG!! Level of salt. I could only eat a few bites. Basically my twenty dollar meal was a cup of soup and a spring roll. Even the water is off. Phoenix water is not the best tasting, and I don't think they filter their tap water here. read more

Best Chinese restaurant we've had in Phoenix! Another fantastic recommendation from my wonderful hairdresser. We went early on a Friday evening and were seated right away, though the place was filling up by the time we finished. We ordered wonton soup, spring rolls, orange chicken, and General Yang's shrimp--everything was excellent!! We were on our way to a game so I didn't try the wine, but they had an impressive selection. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

I may have been to George Yang's Restaurant a few times in the past 8 years. Used to be the Golden Phoenix. Nephew and I shared House Chicken & Mongolian Beef for an early dinner. Large menu, modern decor, prices were moderate as were portion sizes. service was excellent. Food was very tasty. I expect portion sizes need to be smaller as margins are low and food prices are higher. George Yangs Restaurant is probably one of the best Chinese Restaurants in the area. All good here! read more

Came here to try them for some take out because every time we're in the area they're always busy therefore we had to check them out! It was mid evening when we picked up our order & they weren't too busy as our freshly made food was coming out of the kitchen packed nicely in a box for carrying! I got the wonton soup which was delish as it had fresh spinach leaves & actual slices of bbq pork in the soup as it's supposed to be, plus can't forget the side of freshly made wonton strips to throw in the soup! ;) My hubby had the gyoza & they were perfectly made, I tried one they were delish! Then we got the special fried rice that had the chicken, bbq pork & about 6 large shrimp in it.... they were extremely generous & it was very good, next time though I'll be requesting bean sprouts thrown in! My carnivore hubby had to sample some protein, lol so he got the wings with the special sauce, he liked the wings yet his complaint was the sauce ended up making the breading soggy... next time salt & pepper wings he'll try. My husband's favorite was the sliced bbq pork & with that I definitely agree with because they were perfectly cooked & moist! Overall everything was freshly made & delicious & we'll definitely make our way back there for some more take out! The inside dining is pretty big & well spaced out with their table placement... plus from what I saw very well kept & clean. We loved this Chinese restaurant. I have a hard time finding something I like at most Asian places in Phoenix but this place tastes so much like NY style. We came right before the Friday night dinner rush and had amazing service by the staff. The interior is dark but very elegant. If you love NY style egg rolls, this is the place to be. Crunchy and fresh with a hint of peanut sauce, so so good! Don't miss to dip them in the duck sauce. Yum! We also ordered the orange chicken and it did not disappoint. Hard to find fresh orange chicken with the right texture and taste. I loved it! After a year I returned to George Yang's for the second time and I was not disappointed. The pot stickers were outstanding, crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. The vegetable egg foo yung was delicious, covered in fresh veggies. The honey walnut shrimp were perfect but it was the house special chicken that stole the show, coming in a savory brown sauce and topped with sesame seeds. And the price is reasonable for so much wonderful food. The only thing missing from the menu is Peking duck, but there's still plenty of great selections. I'll be back soon. read more

What I ordered , was just okay . I did end up liking the dish my boyfriend got more than mine ( kung pow chicken ) . I try to stick with veggies and tofu ( usually these dishes are well seasoned ). This one missed the mark for me and was served cold . Inside was a good amount of people . They also have a back room for events , a well lit up small bar , and a wine cellar . Older, Asian woman took our drink order, without a hint of friendliness. Started with Veg egg rolls, and sizzling Rice soup. Soup was pretty good. Egg rolls were a nasty mushy texture inside. Was still eating egg roll when server tried to remove last bite and plate. Wife ordered chicken egg Fu Yung. She Describes as fresh, light & very good. Very large portion of chicken. I had the salt & pepper shrimp. Thoroughly enjoyed. Nice size, top quality shrimp. Perfectly cooked crunchy outside! So, we drove an hour to try this mostly well reviewed place. Food was pretty good. Vibe was unenthusiastic, dead! Servers never asked if meal was okay, or if we needed anything, even though there were less than half a dozen tables being served. Impression...uninviting. Visited on a Wednesday evening with my wife and her parents. The restaurant was very clean, spacious, and appropriately lit. Service was friendly and attentive. Parking was a bit busy but we got a spot without any issues. We did not order family style as the in-laws are not vegetarian, however my wife and I shared our two veggie dishes. We started with the veggie egg rolls which were perfectly crisp and hot. We ordered the Asian Veggie Delight (add tofu) and the veggie chow mein. The veggie delight was perfect, saucy, and delicious without being greasy. The chow mein was not our favorite as we prefer drier, but still had a good flavor. The in-laws had the Sizzling Black Pepper Filet Mignon and General Yang's which they both enjoyed thoroughly. Portions were large and we were able to make additional meals out of it! For being in Phoenix my whole life, I couldn't never recommend a great Chinese restaurant, I know they have to exist but I could never find them, just a few OK places. Well, finally after going to George Yang's several times, I now have a recommendation for great Chinese food. The dining room has a great low key vibe and the food is always on point. We came here on Christmas Day and it was one of the few Chinese restaurants that was open and allowed dine-in. The wait wasn't that long considering they were packed, which was a great sign food was good. Inside of the restaurant was spacious and appeared clean. Once we sat down we were greeted by our waiter and ordered beef & brocolli, veggie dish, and orange peel chicken with a side of white rice. Everything came out fairly quickly and tasted pretty good! Hard to tell about the quality of the food here. It arrived from their delivery service all mixed together. Did they leave out the egg roll and crab puff? No, they're under the noodles. They're not crunchy anymore. The delivery man was holding the container tipped on its side and most of the sauce was in the bottom of the bag. I brought it to his attention and he just shrugged his shoulders. Could care less. A sticky mess!! Maybe they should use higher quality containers? This is the cheapest foam box you can buy. Egg drop soup was the best of entire meal. The other lunch special was a combination of chicken and Shrimp with there specialty sauce. That too had a similar brown sauce and tasted just all right. No real wow factor. There was a small dog that a customer had brought in to the restaurant and he was probably sitting on the same bench and being served. We have nothing against pets and animals but this is plain not hygienic as the server was feeding him and then serving other guests. The entre experience was a little weird. Not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars! This is my favorite Chinese spot in all of Phoenix. Seriously underrated spot! We got the spicy beef fried rice, spicy wontons, the tres amigos speciality dish, and the Thai chili tom Yum! 10/10, 11/10, 1,000,000/10. We were craving chinese and ordered delivery from this place and it was well worth it! Our food was delivered fast and was still hot when it arrived. Our favorites were the Kung Pao Chicken (not spicy, but a nice amount of heat), Moo Shu Pork, BBQ pork appetizer and the house fried rice. Kids enjoyed the orange chicken and chow mein as well! Sometimes the pancakes restaurants provide for the moo shu are small - but George Yang's provides a pretty decent size to make a nice roll! We also ordered the Miona's chicken and NY style egg roll, but would pass on those. I thought the chicken would be a little spicier, ended up tasting like a doughy sweet and sour chicken.
