Egg Drop Soup
Natalie V.

SUCH GOOD FOOD! The quality was amazing and the flavor was unreal! We got takeout and the egg drop soup was amazing!! The green beans are a must!! Flavorful and crunchy! The food itself was fresh and hot for it being takeout! Such a great restaurant to find, great service and a cute little space! Will be returning!

Mongolian Beef & House Chicken

I may have been to George Yang's Restaurant a few times in the past 8 years. Used to be the Golden Phoenix. Nephew and I shared House Chicken & Mongolian Beef for an early dinner. Large menu, modern decor, prices were moderate as were portion sizes. service was excellent. Food was very tasty. I expect portion sizes need to be smaller as margins are low and food prices are higher. George Yangs Restaurant is probably one of the best Chinese Restaurants in the area. All good here!

Came here to try them for some take out because every time we're in the area they're always busy therefore we had to check them out! It was mid evening when we picked up our order & they weren't too busy as our freshly made food was coming out of the kitchen packed nicely in a box for carrying! I got the wonton soup which was delish as it had fresh spinach leaves & actual slices of bbq pork in the soup as it's supposed to be, plus can't forget the side of freshly made wonton strips to throw in the soup! ;) My hubby had the gyoza & they were perfectly made, I tried one they were delish! Then we got the special fried rice that had the chicken, bbq pork & about 6 large shrimp in it.... they were extremely generous & it was very good, next time though I'll be requesting bean sprouts thrown in! My carnivore hubby had to sample some protein, lol so he got the wings with the special sauce, he liked the wings yet his complaint was the sauce ended up making the breading soggy... next time salt & pepper wings he'll try. My husband's favorite was the sliced bbq pork & with that I definitely agree with because they were perfectly cooked & moist! Overall everything was freshly made & delicious & we'll definitely make our way back there for some more take out! The inside dining is pretty big & well spaced out with their table placement... plus from what I saw very well kept & clean. This restaurant is a definite keeper if we're ever craving some great Chinese food!

We came here last Sunday for family dinner and what a great restaurant! The food is so good. Definitely a fine choice for big groups. The entire table loved all the food. The orange chicken and salt and pepper chicken were my favorites. The gyoza pan fried was a perfect starter. Our server Tony was very attentive. Would recommend!

Amazing New York Style Egg Roll!

We loved this Chinese restaurant. I have a hard time finding something I like at most Asian places in Phoenix but this place tastes so much like NY style. We came right before the Friday night dinner rush and had amazing service by the staff. The interior is dark but very elegant. If you love NY style egg rolls, this is the place to be. Crunchy and fresh with a hint of peanut sauce, so so good! Don't miss to dip them in the duck sauce. Yum! We also ordered the orange chicken and it did not disappoint. Hard to find fresh orange chicken with the right texture and taste. I loved it! It's just too bad they are not in the west valley, but I'll drive the extra distance any time to have this amazing food!!

The best place, and staff love them. They are professional & awesome. The food and menu are the best ever. I wish they had reward program & military & senior discounts

This was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last! The service was excellent, and the food was well-prepared and was delivered quickly to our table. Parking is a little tricky as it's a popular lunch spot. I had the Pad Thai lunch special and it was a little different than what I was used to. Instead of the spicy flavor it had citrus overtones but it was delightfully different!

Sautéed sping beer, basil chicken, shrimp fried rice && the best Mai Tai's in town. Thx Joe and team

Everything from the food to the staff (one in particular) Mai Tai's are off the hook!!

Spicy Tofu with Asian Vegetables, bland
Rebecca J.

What I ordered , was just okay . I did end up liking the dish my boyfriend got more than mine ( kung pow chicken ) . I try to stick with veggies and tofu ( usually these dishes are well seasoned ). This one missed the mark for me and was served cold . Inside was a good amount of people . They also have a back room for events , a well lit up small bar , and a wine cellar . There is an once cream shop in the same shopping center and plenty of parking :) The servers were all sweet , but I won't be back due to lack of flavor in the veggie dish and quality of the food .

Salt and pepper shrimp, very good!

First time here, found through yelp research and some Best of Phoenix recommends. Interior pretty nice, more modern than many Chinese restaurants. Older, Asian woman took our drink order, without a hint of friendliness. Started with Veg egg rolls, and sizzling Rice soup. Soup was pretty good. Egg rolls were a nasty mushy texture inside. Was still eating egg roll when server tried to remove last bite and plate. Wife ordered chicken egg Fu Yung. She Describes as fresh, light & very good. Very large portion of chicken. I had the salt & pepper shrimp. Thoroughly enjoyed. Nice size, top quality shrimp. Perfectly cooked crunchy outside! So, we drove an hour to try this mostly well reviewed place. Food was pretty good. Vibe was unenthusiastic, dead! Servers never asked if meal was okay, or if we needed anything, even though there were less than half a dozen tables being served. Impression...uninviting. I think we'll keep looking for the right Chinese restaurant for us.

Visited on a Wednesday evening with my wife and her parents. The restaurant was very clean, spacious, and appropriately lit. Service was friendly and attentive. Parking was a bit busy but we got a spot without any issues. We did not order family style as the in-laws are not vegetarian, however my wife and I shared our two veggie dishes. We started with the veggie egg rolls which were perfectly crisp and hot. We ordered the Asian Veggie Delight (add tofu) and the veggie chow mein. The veggie delight was perfect, saucy, and delicious without being greasy. The chow mein was not our favorite as we prefer drier, but still had a good flavor. The in-laws had the Sizzling Black Pepper Filet Mignon and General Yang's which they both enjoyed thoroughly. Portions were large and we were able to make additional meals out of it! Would 10/10 be back and recommend!

Tofu with Vegetables

Food quality has gone down. Ate the Vegetarian option with vegetables and tofu. We weren't asked if we wanted fried or steamed tofu. Dish was just okay in taste. Egg drop soup was the best of entire meal. The other lunch special was a combination of chicken and Shrimp with there specialty sauce. That too had a similar brown sauce and tasted just all right. No real wow factor. There was a small dog that a customer had brought in to the restaurant and he was probably sitting on the same bench and being served. We have nothing against pets and animals but this is plain not hygienic as the server was feeding him and then serving other guests. The entre experience was a little weird. No Chinese New Year decorations in the restaurant even though it's a Chinese Restaurant. Restaurant has a very dark vibe and lighting is very dim and depressing.

It's probably the fanciest Chinese restaurant I've been to in AZ. The lunch menu is excellent and quite impressive! There are 8 entrees to choose along with a side for only $20. What's crazy is that a full size seafood and wagyu beef belly jjampong is a side! They're regularly $24 so it's a crazy deal to get an additional entree!! We ordered seafood jjampong and wagyu beef jjampong as sides and genghis khan beef and chili garlic fried chicken as mains. The jjampong had that great umami taste without the oiliness that's unavoidable at other restaurants. The ingredients felt very premium and fresh. Ghengis khan beef pieces were very generous and tender with a savory sauce. Chili garlic chicken was a tad salty for me but had great crisp. Service was impeccable and one you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. I can't wait to go back to try other dishes from the lunch menu. I also want to try their happy hour that's available everyday from 4-7PM. All the food items are only $7 and variety looks amazing.

The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is amazing. Our food came out in record time, but was still hot and tasted of high quality! I recommend coming during their lunch times, I came on a Sunday and they still offered their lunch menu. The lunch menu plates are huge! They come with your entree, soup, chow mein, rice, a crab ragoon, and an egg roll. I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp and it was delicious. It had a slight kick, bit it wasn't too spicy. The shrimp was cooker perfectly, mot rubbery. My favorite was the egg drop soup, it had tofu in it and it was addictive. I definitely recommend checking George and Sons out!

To be clear, I am a New Yorker and know good fast Chinese food. The ambiance was promising. It looked like I was finally going to find what I've been looking for in Phoenix for years. For whatever reason, Chinese restaurants in Arizona serve egg hockey pucks and cover it with various items and call it egg foo young. I even asked about it before I ordered it. Alas when I got home and saw what I had, I was disappointed. It's faster to make it this way but the egg hockey puck had no taste - zero. They could have at least added oyster sauce, a little soy sauce, maybe nam plah, and perhaps sesame oil. It was tasteless. A complete miss. I also ordered something simple, shrimp spring rolls. They were delicious! I inhaled them and will order them again. I'd go again just for the spring rolls. Maybe they have other dishes that are good and I may not entirely give up but the egg foo young is a no go.

Gotta support local when you can I say! The menu is pretty basic and has all your typical options for Americanized Chinese food. Wanting to get something that had noodles in it, I opted for the combination #1 which has chow mein crispy noodles, pork fried rice, and two tempura shrimp. Quite a lot of food and for a very reasonable price! I think the combo was around $10. If you are a fan of bean sprouts, this is your place. The chow mein had a massive pile of beansprouts on top. The noodles were indeed crispy but they was such a meager portion compared to the beansprouts. The fried rice was pretty basic but also a generous portion and the two tempura shrimp had a nice crispy batter. I tried some of the eggroll too which is one of the most unique versions I've had since the super crispy outer layer was either a different preparation or different wrap material than I'm used to. The interior was made primarily of beansprouts too. Service was good. Our food was prepared fairly quickly.

It's a small plate type of restaurant and we tried 5 different ones: 1-egg noodles with pork belly...delicious!!! The pork belly pieces were so tender and the noodles were perfect. 2-fried bamboo with sweet chili sauce...amazing! I would love to have a bag of these and just eat them like chips while watching TV...LOL! 3-stir-fry bok choy with tofu in a garlicky sauce...one of our biggest surprises of the evening! What a wonderful way to eat your greens, along with the most flavorful tofu I've ever had. (We actually ordered it twice.) 4-scallop crudo with garlic and lemon sauce...refreshing! I'm not a big scallop person, but these were so fresh and so good! 5-fried chicken with a sweet/savory dipping sauce...very good! The chicken came like wings, very crispy and juicy. Everything we had was incredible! Unfortunately, I'm allergic to curry and mango, so our choices were somewhat limited. I'm just glad we were able to find these dishes that were so awesome. The only downside is the parking. It's street parking, but there are a bunch of apartments all around, so the spots were very limited. There are some pay parking lots, but they're pretty far from the restaurant. Hubby drove around and did find a spot about a block and a half down a side street. But, to be honest, it was a nice little walk back to the car after eating. What a fun time and a delectable experience!!

KAENG PHET FAK TAWNG hand-pounded curry paste, hand-squeezed coconut milk, kabocha squash, bamboo shoots, makheua eggplant, Thai basil- delicious with a bit of spice just shy of medium. YAM SAI BAI seaweed salad, hand-pounded curry paste, crispy anchovies, toasted coconut, makrut lime leaf, shallot, green mango- delicious and assertive and again to much for just 2 people. We took more than half home. We also ordered the madame madame cocktail which was slightly tart and delicious. Give this restaurant a try.
