I recently stopped by for some Chinese food and overall it was a good experience. The soups were amazing definitely the highlight of the meal. The service could have been a little better, but it wasn't terrible. The price was reasonable, and the ambience was really nice. I especially liked the bright Asian colors throughout the restaurant it gave the place a lively feel. I ordered the Mongolian beef, but it was more like a beef and broccoli dish. Traditional Mongolian beef usually has onions, and mine didn't have any. The flavors were really good, though the beef was a little on the salty side. Not so salty that it was inedible, but definitely something where you'll want a sip of water with each bite. Overall, still a good spot with great soups, fair prices, and a nice atmosphere.

Sleeper Alert! This place has some really killer food at great prices. The service is fast and friendly. Ambiance was alright, pop music playing and I had a big comfy booth. Would definitely visit again.

Pork lo mein combo

This my go to Chinese take out. Good portions. Decent prices and that classic American Chinese take out. I eat in from time to time and the place is clean and the staff is friendly but I usually have it delivered or take out. The rice and lo mein has good flavor. Not over salted. The egg drop arrived nice and hot. It is consistent too which is good thing in my book. My favorites will taste the same each time.

Quick lunch. Never been here before, driven by it a bunch of times. Ambiance is typical family run Chinese restaurant. It was clean and well kept. Menu had a bunch of lunch specials from which to pick. All come with rice, an egg roll, and a won ton. I opted for Kung Pao Chicken. It was good. Not very spicy. The plate in total was rice, etc. was plenty of food for me. Worth a look. N*joy!

After driving past New Hong Kong Restaurant for decades, I finally had dinner here! The dining room is done in a cool red-and-black color scheme with some fun touches, as well as a gorgeous design around a keyhole doorframe. The food was very good. The potstickers were probably my favorite part of the meal, but the crab puffs and Cantonese pan-fried noodles hit the spot as well. Nothing blew my mind, but nothing was wrong, either. The service was friendly and patient, as my friend and I took a while to decide on our order and talked a while after we were done. I would definitely return to New Hong Kong.

Absolutely loved Hong Kong! I happened to drive by while running an errand and immediately wanted Chinese food. The dinner special is a good value. It was $14 and enough for two meals! Loved the orange chicken. Service was excellent, as well!. Will definitely be back!

Mongolian Beef

Freakin delicious! I ordered the Mongolian beef dinner combo and it had so much flavor. The portion size was more than enough especially for the price. I ordered over the phone for pick up and the employee was super sweet and friendly. Place was clean and not too busy when I walked in. Highly recommend!

Po Po Platter

Tried it for nostalgia... won't be back. We decided to give this neighborhood spot a try, mainly out of curiosity. It's been around since I was a kid, and I hadn't been back since, but we'd heard it was under new management and figured it was worth a shot. The entrance gave us hope--it still had the classic door frame I remembered. But once inside, the vibe changed. The room was stark white with black trim, a few paper decorations, and only one other couple dining. We debated leaving but decided to stay. We ordered a Thai tea and water. The servers were noticeably sweaty--we assumed maybe they had just come in from outside, but quickly realized the restaurant itself was just uncomfortably warm. We went with the Po Po Platter--a childhood favorite and a good sampler of everything. Unfortunately, it was mostly a letdown. Spring rolls were just okay (we had to ask for sweet and sour sauce). Crab puffs were oddly sweet. Wontons were dry. The pork rib was super tough. Fried shrimp? Meh. The "burning pork on a stick" was the worst--smoky in a bad way. The flame wouldn't turn off and filled the restaurant with smoke. People started coughing, and my husband had to bring the dish up to the server to stop it. Not sure if there are smoke detectors in the building. We also shared an orange chicken plate with chow mein and ordered General Tso's chicken. Orange chicken was fine. Chow mein was greasy and flavorless. General Tso's was dull, the onions were honestly the best part. We were in and out in 30 minutes and barely ate a quarter of what we ordered. Sadly, this spot didn't live up to the nostalgia or the newer reviews.

Unassuming little place with big portions and good prices! Got a huge plate of food for $15, came out fresh and not much of a wait. Was fairly empty for dine-in on a weeknight

Chow fun
Alyse F.

The chow fun was a 12/10, one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life! The hot and sour soup was very good but not quite great. I liked that it came with a good amount of crispy chips. I did pick up but the people I interacted with on the phone and in person were pleasant. It's a casual spot - I'd be more inclined for take out than dine in. I will certainly order from here again!

Come for the Peking Duck; stay for the Duck Sauce y'all!…read more China Chili is absolutely fantastic! I've ordered from them through Uber Eats and Grubhub multiple times, and I already knew I loved their orange chicken and fried rice. But when a friend suggested we actually go inside and eat there, I thought, why have I been keeping this deliciousness strictly a takeout relationship? We went on a Saturday around 3p. The restaurant is simple, casual, and no-frills. Don't come looking for romance or Instagram-worthy ambiance. This is not the place for mood lighting. You're here to EAT, and honestly, I respect that. We were seated within about 5 minutes, and our server came by shortly afterward. My friend is a regular who swears by the Peking duck with buns, so we ordered that to share. I got my Sauvi B, my friend ordered a Chinese beer, and almost immediately, delicious egg drop soup appeared. No doctoring it up, no adding a bunch of stuff. It was perfect as is. Then came the Peking duck. Beautifully presented, expertly sliced, with crispy skin and all the fixings: shredded scallions, plum sauce, duck sauce, and spicy mustard. That spicy mustard? AMAZING. So... how did I build these little masterpieces you ask? Open the bun, spread on that delicious dark plum sauce, add the duck, scallions, a little crispy skin, and a dab of spicy mustard. Close it up and proceed to mind your business because baaaay-bee... that first bite was everything! I ate approximately 7 mini duck sandwiches. SEVEN! And I regret absolutely nothing. You can also order the Peking duck with pancakes, which I plan to try on my next visit. Because yes, there WILL be a next visit. And the one after that. The service was excellent, too. Attentive without hovering, efficient without rushing us, and perfectly pleasant. Nobody was trying to become our new best friend, but nobody was rude, either. Just good, straightforward service that let us enjoy our meal. By the time we left around 4:15, the restaurant was getting busy. All kinds of people were coming in, and plenty seemed to know exactly what they wanted. You could tell this place has its regulars, and I can absolutely see why. Now, let me address something very important from the perspective of a NEWYAWKUH (yes, that's how we say it). Since moving to Arizona 3 and a half years ago, finding truly delicious duck sauce has been the bane of my existence. I know, I know. First-world problems. But if you know, YOU KNOW. China Chili has the sauces, the fixings, the flavor, and the goods. That duck sauce and spicy mustard alone deserve a standing ovation. I can't wait to return with a bigger group so I can try more of the menu. But if you're going with just one other person, the Peking duck with buns is an excellent place to start. China Chili has officially secured another repeat customer. If you haven't been, go. And if you're already a regular, I now understand your loyalty. Come hungry. Bring friends. Order the duck. And for the love of all things delicious, don't sleep on the sauces!

We got the peking duck with buns and Szechuan style green beans. The duck came with hoisin sauce…read moreand shredded green onions. They gave each of us a bowl of rice. There aren't many places in Phoenix that serve duck this neatly like in my photo, and I appreciate that it's not another chain restaurant. Is it the best version of this dish I've ever had, no...but it can be a nice change from the usual options of beef, pork, shrimp, and chicken.

It looks surprisingly small compared to how big the place is inside. The restaurant is decorated with lots of red, lanterns, and even a giant fortune cookie. The food is a mix of Chinese and Korean dishes, but it's definitely more Americanized Asian food. We ordered from their Lunch Combo Special. My friend got the Chili Garlic Fried Chicken and the Seafood Jjampong without shrimp because she's allergic to it. I got the Chili Garlic Shrimp with fried rice. When our server found out it was my friend's birthday, she told us we could choose a complimentary dessert from the menu, which was so nice! My friend picked the Glazed Sweet Potato with Lemon Sorbet. The lunch combos were huge. My friend was already so full after eating the jjampong that she had to take the chicken home. I really liked my shrimp and fried rice. They were so tasty that I finished everything! We also really enjoyed the Glazed Sweet Potato with Lemon Sorbet. The refreshing lemon sorbet paired perfectly with the sweet, warm glazed sweet potato. I try, I review, and I might come back again to try something else.

Went late after a game. There was only one other table in the restaurant…read more We had been in 112° heat all day and were really thirsty. The water glasses looked like what you'd make a tequila sunrise in (tall & skinny). Obviously with ice that type of glass doesn't hold very much water. Getting a refill and we needed several, was worse than pulling teeth. We had the bartender as the only employee left working. One time I had to ask four times for a refill. We also ordered beer and a whisky drink so we weren't cheap. The food was pretty good. The ticket time on my entree was about 10 minutes but the other two at our table didn't get their food for almost half an hour. No consistency. I may try this place again much earlier in the night.

Gotta support local when you can I say! The menu is pretty basic and has all your typical options for Americanized Chinese food. Wanting to get something that had noodles in it, I opted for the combination #1 which has chow mein crispy noodles, pork fried rice, and two tempura shrimp. Quite a lot of food and for a very reasonable price! I think the combo was around $10. If you are a fan of bean sprouts, this is your place. The chow mein had a massive pile of beansprouts on top. The noodles were indeed crispy but they was such a meager portion compared to the beansprouts. The fried rice was pretty basic but also a generous portion and the two tempura shrimp had a nice crispy batter. I tried some of the eggroll too which is one of the most unique versions I've had since the super crispy outer layer was either a different preparation or different wrap material than I'm used to. The interior was made primarily of beansprouts too. Service was good. Our food was prepared fairly quickly.
