Noodle Salad Bowl
Lindsey G.

The perfect lunch! I ordered a Bánh mi sandwich with grilled pork and it was delicious! Great flavor and a big sandwich, which I saved one half for lunch the next day. I got a side order of the bao buns and they were absolutely perfect. I would order 50 if I could!! My husband got the noodle bowl with chicken and pork egg roll. He loved it and the egg roll was his favorite. This was also a generous portion and he saved some for lunch the next day too. It was busy inside during lunch. I ordered takeout and there was a waiting area with a bench, but there were tables inside to dine in. Service was great, kind staff and took about 10 minutes to get my food. The restaurant looked clean and a nice place to sit down for a quick bite. Loved everything we got and I can't wait to come back!

Chicken noddle bowl with veggie roll

This is the second time coming here I forgot how much I love it!! I brought my gf for a quick lunch . I got the bbq pork Banh Mi with a strawberry ice tea and she got the chicken noddle bowl . And a Taro milk tea Both were sooo tasty. What I thought was a little different about the noddle bowl was noddles seemed to be a little thicker than the normal vermicelli noddles used for this dish. But it was great either way. This place is tucked in a small strip mall. Definitely worth a try! The service was friendly and you get your food quick!

Great and quick Vietnamese fast food! We come to this place often on weekends since it's quick and delicious. Can never make it on weekdays since they close so early. The pork baos are delicious as our the salad bowls. The egg rolls are also great. The sandwiches I've tried in the past are ok, just taste rather boring. We would go way more often if it was open later

Huge sandwiches

3.5 stars. My husband got the shaken beef bahn mi and it was good! The meat was a little too chewy but overall we enjoyed this sandwich. It had great flavors and was juicy. The chicken bahn mi however is very dry. The meat itself is overcooked and dry, and there's hardly any sauce to help it. The Vietnamese coffee was okay. We've order Vietnamese coffee also and this one is average. We do appreciate how large the sandwiches are! And they do give a generous amount of meat it them.

This is a solid spot to grab a Bánh mi. I was randomly in az and was in desperate need of some Vietnamese cuisine so I found this place on yelp. I ended up deciding on the barbecue pork sandwich and got It with a Vietnamese iced coffee. Both items were great and I would absolutely go again if I end up back in Phoenix. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft inside. The veggies were fresh and full of flavor. And the meat was cooked to absolute perfection. It was really a great quick lunch.

I needed some freshness & always love Vietnamese - gave this spot a try. Friendly service. Decent noodle salad. Loved the egg rolls

Welp- looks like this once gem of a business has changed hands. The former owner is gone and the food has gone down hill. The meat for the sandwiches and noodle bowls were reheated and barely warm. Nope. Unfortunately not coming back.

1. Classic Banh MI - HUGE!!!
Diem P.

I ordered the #1 Classic. The banh mi was loaded with meat and pickled carrots & daikon. The pork skin was too chewy and hard to bite...perhaps, if the pork was sliced more thinly? But at $8 for a foot long..it's a great deal.

The staff here are so kind it really made the experience of having to wait a bit so much better! The gentleman at the front door recommended a wine bar around the corner to wait at after we got on the list, which was a cute divey spot. The food was delicious, we loved the papaya salad so much, there were so many flavors of spicy and tangy, and the papaya itself was very refreshing. We had the Pad kee mao and Panang curry which were also delicious. For the chicken pad kee mao we requested it to be gluten free and they gave us the same rice noodles as the Pad Thai and a slightly different sauce which was so darn good! The chicken was very tender. When the Panang curry said it came with beef, I didn't know what to think but after a single bite I was a huge fan! So many flavors hit you at once and the beef was so incredible, it was falling part. I also ordered the savory cocktail option (I can't remember the name) which had cucumber vodka, fish sauce, mint, onion, and some other goodies, and wow! It changed my life. Highly highly recommend. Overall would definitely come back here, we were a walk in on a Saturday night and had an hour and a half wait to get in.

I actually…read morejust realized that I'm not even sure if this is the correct location but since I live in Gilbert, I'm going to assume this was the one that was delivered to me. Either way, The food we received was the bomb.com! We were hanging out and watching movies on a Saturday while my lady was nursing a bit of a cold. She wanted something in the chicken noodle soup family, and after a bit of back-and-forth, we decided to look for Ramen or pho. Now that's where the start started, but that's clearly not where it ended. After a couple of different searches, we found kung fu noodle And simply picked it based on a combination of the pictures, the reviews and the fact that they have several noodle soup options that looked really appealing. Ultimately, we ended up ordering the spicy beef noodle soup, and the house special noodle soup along with their dumplings, crab Rangoon's and fried rice. Now, usually I skip straight to the review of the food at this point, but I have to give them one additional compliment. This place goes the extra mile in terms of making sure the delivery experience is Extra level. Starting with their packaging, which, for someone who is infatuated with great design, they really do a great job of driving home the full brand experience! Not only were the package is aesthetically, pleasing and artistic in some cases, but they were also very functional as well with all of the plastic containers having sealed lids that had to be broken open for the first time by us. This was just extra assurance that our food wasn't tampered with on the ride from the restaurant to the house. In addition, the food was extremely fresh and hot, even the crab Rangoon's, which in some cases can be delivered with that wet, gummy effect because of the steam and condensation that accumulates inside of many of the take-home containers that you receive from most Asian food places. I wouldn't argue that this is the kind of containers that you would necessarily keep around as home Tupperware, but the bag that they sent everything in definitely feels like it's gotta reuse or two in it. Overall, we were really happy with the quality of the food as both Soups were portion wise enough for two consecutive days of meals. Same thing with the fried rice, which was really good We got the shrimp version and it had plenty of shrimp and veggies in addition to really fresh rice. Lastly, while I'm not specifically a dumpling guy, I decided to try these because the pictures looked really good on the website. And I can't lie, these were definitely really Good dumplings. Overall, we are looking forward to trying to spot out in person, but if we have to order again before we make it in person, that's what it is going to be!

This does make it a little easier to take any leftovers to go because you can grab a lid later. The inside is very clean. You likely won't see too many other guests eating in as most get takeout. Service is frank and prompt. Ever since some of our favorite long time local hand pulled noodle places closed over the years, my partner and I have been on the search for any kind of replacement. Unfortunately, Kung Fu Noodles does not live up to that for us. You have to approach this restaurant with takeout in mind. Portion sizing is pretty generous. The food itself is very okay. With so many other takeout places to compete in the area, my partner and I likely won't return.

When we walked in it had a very fishy smell, so it kind of made us second guess our choice. But we went for it anyhow. The greeter/server was very pleasant and sat us. It was very clean inside with ample space between seat. We browsed through the menu and started with our usual edamame and pot stickers. The edamame was salted well throughout where a lot of places just put the salt on top only. We ordered a couple varieties of sake which were both good. Out of all of the things we ordered the karange skewer was just a little more oily than were use to, but still good. The spicy salmon roll had really great flavor and the lollipop roll was probably one of the better versions that we have had. The musubi was giant to say the least, it was good, but offered a bit too much rice. Overall the food and service was great and we were very happy that we ended up here!

On a Sunday evening, after checking out the Desert Botanical Garden, I was looking for some food in…read morethe area. I came across Zu Izakaya and it's great reviews as one of the options. I love Japanese food so my decision was made. I drove over and parked in their complimentary lot. Ambiance (3.5/5): I've been to Japan and there are plenty of izakayas there. Think of them as small bars which often serve solid food. Zu fits that bit. It's a relatively small restaurant, probably seats about 30 people. and it's pretty no frills for a Japanese spot. I was seated at a booth in the corner of the restaurant. They have free WiFi which is always a good touch. Service (3/5): Service was friendly, though a bit inconsistent. My waitress wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. The type of service where you have to flag them down to get what you want and to close out. Drinks (4/5): Zu has a nice menu of Japanese and Korean beverages, including sake, soju, Japanese beer, and more. With that being said, I just had an iced green tea. Food (4/5): I got a nice variety. I went with the Japanese sausage off of the grill menu, the OBI mayo roll off of the sushi menu, and the cheese corn off of the appetizer menu. Let's start with the sausage. It's a small item, two small sausages, but absolutely delicious. The sausage was bursting with flavor and basted in a sweet sauce. Minus the portion size, perfection. The cheese corn also hit the spot, but the execution was off. The corn is served on a hot platter, and unfortunately some of the corn on the edges was badly burnt. The type of situation where they should start over. Which they didn't. Lastly, the OBI mayo roll is essentially a California roll with marinated warm shrimp on top in a mayo sauce. I didn't love the hot and cold combo (shrimp and sushi), but outside of the temperature, it was a delicious roll. All in all, a very food meal. My only gripe with Japanese food is that it can get expensive quick. Given that Zu is in Tempe, I was hoping that prices would be a little cheaper. With that being said, they do have a solid happy hour (and reverse happy hour) with both food and drink specials. Next time I stop by, I'd like to check out some of their Korean options. I focused on the Japanese stuff this time (which makes the majority of the menu). Next time around, the bulgogi is calling my name!
