I'm not certain I've posted a review before, but my attached pictures lead me to believe I have or I at least started to before. I've been going here for years. I think I've gotten the same White Widow sub like every time. I really like the food here. The decor is decoring so there is always something to look at. Staff here is usually friendlier than staff at any other place I go to on the same day. So it was just a quick stop for something fast to eat! It was pretty packed and about a 10-15 min wait. We both got subs plus meatballs and a rice crispy treat everything was good the meatballs didn't taste homemade but still good quality there were mushrooms and black olives in the sauce so keep that in mind. This was my very first visit to a Cheba Hut. I'm imagining many folks flock here (& this place was packed on a Saturday lunchtime), because they like the hippie-stoner vibe. It's not the cheapest sandwich or the most expensive: it wasn't the best ( I had a small meatball on italian) but it also wasn't the worst. It's just that it took FOREVER to get our food. I get it, "made to order," yada yada but we waited over 30 mins. (maybe longer) for 3 sandwiches. That's just a really long time when you're making sandwiches, imho. A few cool aspects: kool aid as a drink option along with fountain drinks and unsweetened teas; one reviewer mentioned rice krispie treats but they weren't offered to us when we ordered. I would've loved one of those! You can get a cold brewskie in the adjacent bar area. I might return on an off time during the week, to see if service is a little quicker. read more

When I requested a refund due to this delay, I was instead provided with a complimentary sandwich. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was poor, as the sandwich was soggy and inedible. By comparison, I have observed that your Tempe location maintains significantly higher food quality standards while managing a similar volume of customers. Cheba Hut never misses! I usually get the Kali Mist pinner (8-inch) always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly toasted. I love the whole vibe of this place--their playful take on weed culture, the munchies theme, and the laid-back energy make it such a fun spot to grab a bite. They've recently added an in-store mini bar, and the drink prices are surprisingly great! It's the perfect combo good food, chill atmosphere, and now good drinks too. I also really appreciate that they have vegan and vegetarian sub options, which makes it easy to come here with friends who have different diets. Not sure about other dietary restrictions yet, but I'm hopeful they'll expand the menu as they grow. I love love love Cheba Hut subs... the food never disappoints. That's why I gave 4 stars. My only complaint after many many visits now is that there has never been one instance where the crew has made me feel welcome outside of the obviously forced greeting that everywhere requires from their customer service workers. The location is cool but I never want to stay because they make me feel like a burden so much so that I typically place an order for pickup to not feel like I'm bugging. I was passing by today been wanting one of these sandwiches so bad and totally forgot this and the guy helping me seemed so annoyed that I needed to think about my order, I tried looking up my past order to make it easier but of course it wasn't showing anymore cause it's been a while. I honestly don't care though cause I like their food so much but if you're looking for "The Experience" just know it's only bomb food you'll find here bring your own crew and your own fresh vibes cause you won't find that outside yourself here. Maybe they're all just over it and jaded but tbh I can't imagine being so unhappy working at such a cool spot. With that being said at least the girl giving me my sandwich and send off seemed kind. Took me a while, but I finally tried out this spot! It's close to where I work, so I stopped by one afternoon and was lucky no one was in line. Cool vibes, lots of stickers posted around. I was greeted in a friendly manner and since I wasn't picking up, I was directed to the ordering counter. I asked the employee for recommendations but I was *that* person who went with something else, lol. I asked if sandwiches could be customized since I don't eat bacon and they could, good for future reference. The Thai stick intrigued me so I ordered that on garlic bread (love that that's an option!) It took about 5 minutes or so and my order was ready. Staff was great and I was on my way. I tried my sandwich about 40 minutes later once I got home and my only note is that the oil and vinegar (house sauce) doesn't travel well (obviously). However it was a tasty sandwich that has grilled chicken, teriyaki, tomatoes, lettuce, green bell peppers, onions, pickles (random), pepperjack cheese, pineapple, and the house sauce as mentioned. I like pickles but this sandwich didn't really need it, didn't affect it much though. I also don't think I had pineapples in mine but I'm not a big fan so that's okay. The onions are strong in smell so FYI. Overall it was tasty and I appreciated the amount of sauce present. I also noticed they have Kool-aid so I'll have to try the Tropical Fruit Punch and Blue Raspberry Lemonade flavors another time. They have a rewards program which I plan on joining, and they are opening a location in PV/Phoenix so I'm looking forward to trying that one as well! read more

So I love a good sub and this place DELIVERED. I was here Wednesday around 2:20pm craving a sub and so I decided to stop by and give them a try. The customer service was amazing, bro in the front was chill asf with a great attitude and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. The place is very clean, I love the style and look of the place. As for the sub itself it was amazing. I got a 12" Midwest Club which I highly recommend and fountain drink. Post that transaction, numerous "Inmate Payments" to a prison in Texas (?) have been made. What the heck. Coincidence? Don't think so. I've had to "turn off" my card and my bank is sending a new one. The best sandwiches in town!! Every one was super helpful and the vibes were very welcoming.

The subs are sooooooo good. Theres so many options, you'll definitely find a flavor you like. Tonight the toaster went out for a bit. I tried a Cheba Hut in Eugene OR near the the U of O with my wife . We thought the sandwiches and service were great. This time I brought my Thursday lunch group of friends with me to see if their experience was like mine . The was an order of The Bomb. Meatballs, marinara, green bell pepper, shrooms and double provoalone. The AK-47. French Dip Roast beef, portobello, onion, shrooms, double provolone & Shake. Served with a side of Au Jus. A make your own Ham, bacon , cheddar cheese ,lettuce , and tomatoes. I had the White Widow minus the onions with the garlic bread. The consensus was unanimous. Eight thumbs up. All of the staff was great. Very friendly and informative. We all live in the Surprise area and are requesting Cheba Hut come to the West side of town. read more

Took my toddler to the Back2Skool Event on Saturday; Free 4" Nugs to celebrate going back to school. Way to help out in your community! I saw people from all walks of life had come in to enjoy the festivities, and it was awesome...very much reminded me of the inclusivity and diversity of California. The had tents set up outside with games, and prizes (even RAW was there), face painting $10-$15, and other goodies for sale. I got a couple vegan sammies, and they were yummy! If I could have give no stars I would have. This location used to be good. I just ordered a KGB Blunt and there was literally one slice of roast beef on each side of the bread. I also ordered the sandwich on garlic bread and it was on plain bread. My wife ordered ham, cheese, avocado, lettuce/tomato. This spot is near my house and it's ALWAYS packed every time I go! The subs have cannabis names like "blunt" for the size of sub and "kush" for a BLT! I've only every ordered the White Widow (chicken bacon ranch) and the Kush (BLT) for the kiddos. Both are absolutely delicious and it's always the bread that makes the sandwiches - IMO.
