"We chose this spot to reconnect with old friends, and it turned out to be the perfect backdrop for a long visit. The staff was incredibly patient--our server was very kind and never rushed us, even though we were so caught up in conversation that it took us quite a while to even look at the menu. As for the food, the Chop Salad and Chicken Sandwich were both solid lunch choices; while not necessarily 'destination dishes,' they were fresh, satisfying, and exactly what we needed. The space is clean and has a familiar, comfortable atmosphere similar to a high-end chain. If you're looking for a reliable meal and a great location to sit and talk for a while, this is a solid pick." read more

Have to say. This has been our go to place for many years. Came I today. Price have increased since Monday. I get it. Everything in this world has gone up in price. BUT when our bill doubled for the same items we order every week. We have an issue. Islands must do better. We will no longer be coming. I budget what we do for our monthly eating out. Today took away from my monthly budget. Sorry islands you are no longer family friendly budget. The staff knows us and we know them. It's like loosing a family member. Wish I could say something different but I can't. So sorry.. so long islands. You should do better. Your formally loyal customer. read more

Island Flare is a fun place to sit and enjoy a relaxed dinner with friends or catch the game. I enjoyed the cheeseburger salad while my friend got a burger with fries. Staff were quick, but walked by so quickly that a question could not be asked. Will definitely be back. read more

I went to Island Fine Burger restaurant for lunch today and was really surprised by how big the burger patties are--they actually slightly larger the edge of the bun, which I haven't seen at places like Red Robin or In-N-Out (the patties are usually less than the bun you won't see them). The waitress asked me how I wanted my burger cooked (from medium rare to well done), making it feel even more personalized. The $10 deal for a burger and fries was a good deal. Waitresses were friendly, and the island-themed décor made the whole vibe really relax. I was comfortable eating inside, especially with the cool air conditioning on a hot day. There's plenty of parking, and able to walk around to other shops after my meal. Added this restaurant into the come-back list. read more

Yum!! Nice chain restaurant with lots of food options. We arrived and were sat immediately. The hostess were friendly and attentive. I ordered a 22oz Mango IPA which was delicious! The beer came out cold and crispy. We started with chips, salsa, and guacamole. The chips were not my favorite but the salsa was excellent. For the main meal I ordered fish tacos and my husband ordered the burger sliders. The fish tacos were amazing! I love fish tacos and these were amazing. They were slightly dry but I ordered a side of green salsa which was an amazing pair. The burger sliders were just ok. The bun was a little over powering compared to the patty itself. Overall nice and relax bar and grill. Will come back! read more

We were truly excited to visit this restaurant on a Sunday, as the service was outstanding--warm, welcoming, and truly deserving of a 20/10. I genuinely want their business to thrive. However, I must be honest about the food. It was incredibly disappointing. The fries were clearly two weeks old, just reheated almost as bitting on cardboard and the burgers were overwhelmingly peppered to the point of being inedible. My wife's bowl was soggy, falling apart--just cheese, some chicken, rice, and a mess of mush. Given the price, which is on the expensive side, we expected much better quality. I hope the owner and chef take this seriously, since retaining customers and keeping them coming back is key to staying in business. We had to share this because we do want them to succeed, but the food needs a major fix. Again, service was outstanding! read more

The food & vibes are good. The service is lacking. It's not busy, but we still couldn't get anyone's attention for 20+ minutes for simple things like napkins, refills, the tab.... Will def reconsider coming here next time. read more

Do not under any circumstance eat here! I came for a work lunch with eight other coworkers. We all ordered different things and we were all sick for more than a week and a half. The only common denominator was lettuce! Which should tell you that someone did not wash their hands after using the restroom and then cutting the lettuce. There's a pretty good chance that we had E. coli or some sort of poop illness. But we will absolutely never be back here. We called the restaurant to complain and let them know, and they completely exonerated themselves of any guilt at all. read more

Went on for a family dinner on Sunday afternoon, as one who isn't into burgers I looked over the menu and saw there was some good alternatives to the menu. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl, a cheeseburger and side salad ;kids menu, and chicken strips and fries. Our waiter was cool and nice offered recommendations and gave my kids 2 free shirts. It was chill vibe and we enjoyed our food and time at Islands! read more

The drinks were good. Our first time here. They have an island flight where you can try 4 different drinks: we both got burgers. Sat in bar area since there was a wait in main seating.. the bartender was nice. We didn't get many napkins.. had to ask and still got very little. The person who brought our food was quite rude. Seemed angry because we asked for another order of fries. Other than that we likes the food. I ordered the sliders loved the caramelizes onions on them read more

Pretty disappointed with the quality of food today. Chips were stale in the spinach dip as well as the chips and salsa. Dip was fine but the chips made it a poor experience. Once we got our entrees the quality continued to be poor. My son Sked me to taste his fries to see if this was how they are supposed to taste. He said they tasted starchy. Not sure how to explain it but they were not good as the texture was odd. Overall we have always been a fan of Islands and try to go when we are near one, however we won't be excited to go next time for sure. Service was good, no issues there read more

Visited Islands again as I got an email about a burger special , a big burger , fries and a drink for $10. Could not pass that up, so I stopped by. Great service, waitress greeted me and told me about the special, put in my order and in the matter of 5-6 minutes it all arrived. Great burger and good fries, actually too much for me as I left a couple of the fries along with a dollop of ketchup. read more

I've been here before food was solid but for some reason our server smelt like she was taking bong hits and vape hits between going to the back and to the table. We had not been to islands in a very long time and we love their fries so we stopped in. The wait was fine the restaurant was inviting. When my water came the the cup was filthy it had a hard water film that was covered in dirt and grime. When I mentioned it to our server she was defensive and let me know it was hard water as if a filthy cup was ok because of Arizona hard water. I live here I know about hard water, I also know that cups need to be scrubbed once in a while and guess what the gross film won't be covered in caked on dirt from the dishwasher. The server finally offers to bring me a paper cup after the lecture. I had lost my appetite by that point. When the burger showed up it was so raw. I just gave up at that point. read more

Overall: 4 Food: 3 Service: 5 Beverages: 4 Ambiance: 4 Came in during their happy hour (Monday-Friday 3-6:30pm) for some food and drinks! We ordered their Islands Beer Flight, Long Island Iced Tea, HH Sliders, and a Wave Burger. The two cocktails were on happy hour for about $7 each and the sliders were also $7 (can add cheese for an extra $1). The flight consisted of their 3 Islands beers as well as one beer of choice. All 4 of the beers came out cold and were pretty tasty - their Amber Lager was the table favorite. The two cocktails were just okay... the mojito only came with 1 lime so I recommend requesting a few more slices. The Long Island wasn't anything special but it got the job done. The burger was a good size and cooked to medium as requested. It comes with French fries but did a premium upgrade to Onion Rings - the onion rings look great, but aren't that good. The sliders were your typical appetizer sliders but they came with red onion crisps which were a nice touch. Heidi was our waitress and she did an incredible job. She seemed to be the only server on the floor, but the service was on point. Kudos to her for hustling and being kind. We came in with our dog so we were on the patio which is a tiny little patio, but we were the only group out there so it was nice. Could use a little more shading, but they have misters running around the whole outside which was crucial. read more

Driving through from Texas on my way back to California. China Coast and Cheese Fries taste as good as I remember!!

Used to go to the Islands when they were at I-17 and peoria years ago. Friends of ours invited us to travel with them to Avondale to the Islands. The only thing that would keep me from going more often it the distance from our house. I like the theme. The menu is great with lots of options. If you want your fries crispy they will do that for you. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was just ok. The greeting we got at the door was? Hared to describe. Like they were unorganized. Confused as what or were they would sit us. Interaction with the servers were about the same. Could be more welcoming. Will I go back? Yes if I am in the area. read more

Mediocre bar food works much better when on an island! Extremely slow service didn't help the lack of flavor in our dinner. We used to love Islands and happened to be on the west so thought why not!! Fries aren't like they used to be, we wanted to stay for mud pie but it was just that bad. Bright spot, the fried chicken sandwich. Low spot, walking to the front to try to get our bill. The hostess laughed when we said we would never not tip but the guy ignored us. read more

Check your receipts before you pay!! We had a $75 check and the 10% military discount they were giving us was $1.78. We told our server who got the manager to change it to $5.30. So my wife and I came here for our 2nd time after NASCAR. This location is close to the track and on our way home. To begin they have a super cute patio which is really nice and our waitress was fantastic. My wife ordered the Shorebird and the really liked it, she upgraded her fries to the truffle fries and they were a plus! I ordered the Yaki tacos and loved them. This unassuming locale is a great place to stop by to get your fix for a tropical burger experience! The burgers have a nice twist to them, with on-theme toppings and condiments, as well as salads and other entrees/appetizers. The overall atmosphere here is family friendly, which makes sense given the area. great food, great service, great ambiance. nothing more you can ask from a restaurant with great food and great service

What a wonderful oopsy! (Our usual Sunday brunch place was too crowded.) The MOJITO was excellent. Someone knew exactly what he or she was doing: a perfect muddle of the mint leaves, as well as the ideal amounts of lime and rum. Then I ordered the YAKI and wow! The grilled chicken and pineapple were cut into pieces, not ginormous chunks. And the teriyaki sauce was just the right amount along with the tomato pieces and shredded lettuce. I'm so glad I had leftovers to take home! My son had something too. He liked it. A lot. A grilled chicken burger thingy? Don't know. Don't care. 'Cause I was busy eating the YAKI. Again, wow! read more

Maybe it was a bad day, wife kid and i sat down for lunch on Saturday. I ordered yaki tacos, kids cheeseburger for my son and wifey had grilled chicken sandwich. My Yaki tacos were ok, had plenty of chicken but seemed to be drown in teriyaki sauce. My son picked at his burger but refused the fries. My wife ate her chicken sandwich and stated it was ok. Two things that really stood out to me were the French fries and my wife's strawberry lemonade. The fries had a flavor that I couldn't figure out at first but later deemed they tasted like fish. Almost like the same fryer was used for everything and the oil was old. Honestly fish should not be fried in the same oil as fries as people with fish allergies will definitely have a reaction. Strawberry lemonade, possibly the worst strawberry lemonade I have ever drank. Cheap fountain chemical tasting lemonade with strawberry flavor added was terrible. Other restaurants have really taken lemonade seriously and serve something drinkable. I don't think we will return. Service was pretty good, didn't have to wait for a table and we were served quickly. read more

This was a great Saturday lunch time meal. We hadn't been there in a long time. This was definitely a different experience than the one we had before our first time a few years back. Even while a pandemic is happening, the food was absolutely delicious. The options for the menu where more than enough. You still get to customize your burger any way you want. My burger was soo good. We are certainly coming very soon. The cheddar fries were perfect. The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because both servers that helped us had no personality. No customer service skills. The guy that brought our drinks might as well have just thrown them on the table in front of us. The main server seemed like she couldn't care any less. Like she needed to just be anywhere but there. Either way, the burgers were delicious. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch as we were heading to a concert. The Impossible vegetarian burger with the wheat bun was good. French fries are crispy, but have too much salty seasoning. My FAVORITE burger joint for years.. They closed all the ones near me.. I had big dreams of driving out after church to fulfill the craving and teach my 7yr old what a great burger is.. sadly, this didnt happen.. Ordered Hula Burger, and was asked how I wanted it cooked.. Med Rare .. Waitress explained this is with lots of pink in middle.. (I cook a lot, and steaks are my gems).. I said exactly, should be almost rare in middle... Burger came out looking amazing, and I grabbed a mushroom that fell off, and ate it.. cold, lime refridgerator cold.. oh well.. I cut burger in half to share with my daughter, and it was missing not only the pink, but also juices, this was clearly well done. I managed to eat 2 bites and my daughter tried 1 bite, and that was it.. I asked for bill, and stated burger wasn't cooked correctly, she stated they would try again and I denied a do-over since it wasnt even close and didnt want waste more of the day before driving back home.. She said she will talk to manager, but no manager came out , which shows sign of no compassion for the business.. They took the order off the bill, but thats not the point. constructive criticism works when they listen to correct it.. My last statement was to stop asking customers how they want burger cooked if there isnt skills in kitchen to provide.. ps. fries were also under luke warm at best when hit our table.. read more

I worked at Island's in California over 10 years ago and haven't lived near one since then. I was really excited to see one in AZ when I moved here a few months ago. The food is just as good and consistent as it was back then. The menu hasn't changed much, which is fine - they have a really great menu. I love the turkey patty on any of the burgers! The onion rings and French fries are always delicious. We also really like the sliders. We have been to this location 5 or 6 times now and the service is always great. read more

Nostalgic for me; fun for our kids. I grew up going to another Island's location. After too many years away, I was excited to see the familiar sign when exploring the area. We stopped in one day for a late lunch. Burger and chicken sandwiches were all as ordered. The crispy chicken maintained it's crunch until the end. Chicken itself was juicy. The sandwich could have used a bit more sauce. Sauce was concentrated in the center. Pineapple brings additional sweetness to the sauce. Children's burgers are meat and bun. Cheese, lettuce and tomato may be added upon request. There is a choice of white or wheat buns. Fries may be added to any order as a side, or order a basket for the table. Baskets are huge. We have always gone for splitting a basket amongst 3-4 people rather than everyone ordering a side. Fries are fresh cut. The tastiest fries are the little ones with the crispy edges. Service was solid. They did a great job keeping our drinks filled. Even being a late lunch, the restaurant was continuously busy. Food was slow coming out. read more

This Islands is located super close to Fear Farm, where we spend a fair amount of time for soccer tournaments on weekends. We had a break between games today and wanted to get the kids out of the heat + something to eat, so we went here for some cold drinks and food... Service was attentive and food was more than fine. My kids had the quesadillas with fries and I had a Chop Chop Salad. We also had some lemonades and beers. I was eyeing the tuna sandwich across the table that someone else ordered, so I may try that next visit. If you're looking for lunch in this area, you can't go wrong with Islands! read more
