Pretty disappointed with the quality of food today. Chips were stale in the spinach dip as well as the chips and salsa. Dip was fine but the chips made it a poor experience. Once we got our entrees the quality continued to be poor. My son Sked me to taste his fries to see if this was how they are supposed to taste. He said they tasted starchy. Not sure how to explain it but they were not good as the texture was odd. I went to Island Fine Burger restaurant for lunch today and was really surprised by how big the burger patties are--they actually slightly larger the edge of the bun, which I haven't seen at places like Red Robin or In-N-Out (the patties are usually less than the bun you won't see them). The waitress asked me how I wanted my burger cooked (from medium rare to well done), making it feel even more personalized. The $10 deal for a burger and fries was a good deal. Waitresses were friendly, and the island-themed décor made the whole vibe really relax. I was comfortable eating inside, especially with the cool air conditioning on a hot day. Yum!! Nice chain restaurant with lots of food options. We arrived and were sat immediately. The hostess were friendly and attentive. I ordered a 22oz Mango IPA which was delicious! The beer came out cold and crispy. We started with chips, salsa, and guacamole. The chips were not my favorite but the salsa was excellent. For the main meal I ordered fish tacos and my husband ordered the burger sliders. The fish tacos were amazing! I love fish tacos and these were amazing. They were slightly dry but I ordered a side of green salsa which was an amazing pair. The burger sliders were just ok. The bun was a little over powering compared to the patty itself. Do not under any circumstance eat here! I came for a work lunch with eight other coworkers. We all ordered different things and we were all sick for more than a week and a half. The only common denominator was lettuce! Which should tell you that someone did not wash their hands after using the restroom and then cutting the lettuce. There's a pretty good chance that we had E. coli or some sort of poop illness. But we will absolutely never be back here. We had not been to islands in a very long time and we love their fries so we stopped in. The wait was fine the restaurant was inviting. When my water came the the cup was filthy it had a hard water film that was covered in dirt and grime. When I mentioned it to our server she was defensive and let me know it was hard water as if a filthy cup was ok because of Arizona hard water. I live here I know about hard water, I also know that cups need to be scrubbed once in a while and guess what the gross film won't be covered in caked on dirt from the dishwasher. We ordered their Islands Beer Flight, Long Island Iced Tea, HH Sliders, and a Wave Burger. The two cocktails were on happy hour for about $7 each and the sliders were also $7 (can add cheese for an extra $1). The flight consisted of their 3 Islands beers as well as one beer of choice. All 4 of the beers came out cold and were pretty tasty - their Amber Lager was the table favorite. The two cocktails were just okay... the mojito only came with 1 lime so I recommend requesting a few more slices. The Long Island wasn't anything special but it got the job done. The burger was a good size and cooked to medium as requested. It comes with French fries but did a premium upgrade to Onion Rings - the onion rings look great, but aren't that good. The sliders were your typical appetizer sliders but they came with red onion crisps which were a nice touch. Heidi was our waitress and she did an incredible job. She seemed to be the only server on the floor, but the service was on point. Kudos to her for hustling and being kind. We came in with our dog so we were on the patio which is a tiny little patio, but we were the only group out there so it was nice. Used to go to the Islands when they were at I-17 and peoria years ago. Friends of ours invited us to travel with them to Avondale to the Islands. The only thing that would keep me from going more often it the distance from our house. I like the theme. The menu is great with lots of options. What a wonderful oopsy! (Our usual Sunday brunch place was too crowded.) The MOJITO was excellent. Someone knew exactly what he or she was doing: a perfect muddle of the mint leaves, as well as the ideal amounts of lime and rum. Then I ordered the YAKI and wow! The grilled chicken and pineapple were cut into pieces, not ginormous chunks. And the teriyaki sauce was just the right amount along with the tomato pieces and shredded lettuce. Maybe it was a bad day, wife kid and i sat down for lunch on Saturday. I ordered yaki tacos, kids cheeseburger for my son and wifey had grilled chicken sandwich. Strawberry lemonade, possibly the worst strawberry lemonade I have ever drank. Cheap fountain chemical tasting lemonade with strawberry flavor added was terrible. Other restaurants have really taken lemonade seriously and serve something drinkable. I don't think we will return. So my wife and I came here for our 2nd time after NASCAR. This location is close to the track and on our way home. To begin they have a super cute patio which is really nice and our waitress was fantastic. This was a great Saturday lunch time meal. We hadn't been there in a long time. This was definitely a different experience than the one we had before our first time a few years back. Even while a pandemic is happening, the food was absolutely delicious. The options for the menu where more than enough. You still get to customize your burger any way you want. My burger was soo good. We are certainly coming very soon. The cheddar fries were perfect. The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because both servers that helped us had no personality. My FAVORITE burger joint for years.. They closed all the ones near me.. I had big dreams of driving out after church to fulfill the craving and teach my 7yr old what a great burger is.. sadly, this didnt happen.. Ordered Hula Burger, and was asked how I wanted it cooked.. Med Rare .. Waitress explained this is with lots of pink in middle.. (I cook a lot, and steaks are my gems).. I said exactly, should be almost rare in middle... Burger came out looking amazing, and I grabbed a mushroom that fell off, and ate it.. cold, lime refridgerator cold.. oh well.. I cut burger in half to share with my daughter, and it was missing not only the pink, but also juices, this was clearly well done. I managed to eat 2 bites and my daughter tried 1 bite, and that was it.. I asked for bill, and stated burger wasn't cooked correctly, she stated they would try again and I denied a do-over since it wasnt even close and didnt want waste more of the day before driving back home.. She said she will talk to manager, but no manager came out , which shows sign of no compassion for the business.. They took the order off the bill, but thats not the point. constructive criticism works when they listen to correct it.. Nostalgic for me; fun for our kids. I grew up going to another Island's location. After too many years away, I was excited to see the familiar sign when exploring the area. We stopped in one day for a late lunch. Burger and chicken sandwiches were all as ordered. The crispy chicken maintained it's crunch until the end. Chicken itself was juicy. The sandwich could have used a bit more sauce. Sauce was concentrated in the center. Pineapple brings additional sweetness to the sauce. Children's burgers are meat and bun. Cheese, lettuce and tomato may be added upon request. There is a choice of white or wheat buns. Fries may be added to any order as a side, or order a basket for the table. Baskets are huge. We have always gone for splitting a basket amongst 3-4 people rather than everyone ordering a side. Fries are fresh cut. The tastiest fries are the little ones with the crispy edges. This Islands is located super close to Fear Farm, where we spend a fair amount of time for soccer tournaments on weekends. We had a break between games today and wanted to get the kids out of the heat + something to eat, so we went here for some cold drinks and food... Service was attentive and food was more than fine. My kids had the quesadillas with fries and I had a Chop Chop Salad. We also had some lemonades and beers.
