Well on the plus side they gave me a lot more shrimp than I got at Angry Crab Shack with my shrimp and lobster sauce. Other than that well they really want to learn how to cook vegetables. My green and red peppers which I always look forward to because of my omega-3 needs we're ripe and raw. I always hope that whatever preparing my food will fully prepare it and was I'll just use the word disappointed to find out that that wasn't the case here. The shrimp was at least cooked I hope. We visited Flamingo Palace during lunch last Thursday. It was pretty busy and apparently they only had one server for all the tables. She did great but it did take a while for us to order. Once we ordered our food came out quickly. It was a pretty big portion for the lunch special - good flavor. I really wanted to like this place because the menu looked good and the prices seemed fair online. When we entered, it was super busy so my hopes were high. The decor is dated, but I don't care about that as long as the seat is comfortable which it was. We ordered Crab Puffs for appetizer, and then shared the Chicken Fried Rice, Lemon Chicken and General Tso's Chicken. The crab puffs were decent but the sauces that came with them were watery and lacked flavor. Our entrees arrived promptly and looked tasty. They weren't. The lemon chicken didn't taste like any lemon chicken I've ever had before and the General Tso's was WAY too salty and wasn't spicy at all. If it wasn't for the salt, it wouldn't have had any flavor at all. The chicken fried rice was the only truly enjoyable part. I would never go here again and only give it two stars because the waitstaff was attentive and very courteous. I also liked that the takeaway bag is a small reusable tote and I appreciate the attempt at sustainability. Additionally, I was really surprised to see that I was charged $3 extra because I requested red bell peppers to be added to my General Tso's Chicken. The sesame chicken does not come with vegetables. That made it a little disappointing. The taste is still good, and my future was just a bright according to my fortune cookie. With a 20% tip the tab came out to $`12.22 for one. You cannot beat this for value. It tops any buffet. I do not know why people rate it so low. You should go and find out. The place is spotless!! It smelled so good . Our server was great. Attentive and we ordered beer and a MaiTai. Delicious. Can really taste the rum. I had a very disappointing lunch Flamingo Palace. I ordered the spicy beef. The hot and sour soup was excellent, the best I had in a long time. But the spicy beef was terrible. The beef was extremely tough and rubbery. I had to chew a piece of the meat for several minutes before I could swallow it. I barely touched the meal and sent it back. The sever offered to substitute a different meal but my appetite was ruined. The most disappointing issue was we were still charged for the meal. I felt it should have been comped being I only ate a few bites. This was the forth time in my life I actually sent food back. I don't like to complain but I thought it was appropriate this time. On a whim I decided to try them on New Year's since many other places were closed. I ordered the Flamingo Special Chicken, hot and sour soup and spring rolls. Every single item was so good, and so authentic! The egg drop soup is some of the best I've ever tasted, perfectly balanced with plenty of wood-ear mushrooms, pork and shrimp. The flavors of the chicken were amazing and it specified all white meat, which I appreciated. Even the mustard sauce was the real deal. (Why don't more restaurants serve mustard sauce with their spring rolls?) I can't believe I've missed 30 years of amazing food, but I will certainly make up for it. Thank you Flamingo Palace. Epic lunch special! Quality Chinese food can get expensive, but go here for lunch and you'll love this place. I went with a two others to split a few entrees. They all rocked, but their namesake, the Flamingo Special Chicken, was the highlight. The variety on their menu for different meat and vegetarian options gives everyone a chance to find something they'll enjoy. Service was excellent. We asked for a little more Flamingo sauce and they brought a whole soup bowl full of it so we could lather it over anything and everything we could get our hands on. The dish was soggy and lacked depth of flavor, except for a faint hint of something indistinct. Despite the disappointing main course, the service was exceptional, and the manager kindly comped the chicken even though I tried to pay because I don't like accepting free handouts. I am not sure why the reviews... I am picky especially for Asian food. Being Asian . But. We ordered delivery and it was a long wait, which we didn't mind. The 2 is for the tasteless food and the wanton soup so gross. I don't like a lot of salt, but I felt like pouring the whole bottle of salt on everything. Picture of one dish, the chicken was eaten (my husband was starving and ate it all before I took the picture) we waited so long for to get it. I have eaten inside the restaurant and enjoyed the food the portions were fairly good and food was delivered hot, in the past years I myself as we ll as my son ordered food and very disappointing, I ordered large and spicy Mongolian beef and it was very disappointing, the amount of meat was so small I fished out about 10 small thin pieces of beef in a container full of regular and green onions and the sauce was very thin pale watery, not appetizing at all and the large order I ordered was mostly this watery onion mess and negligible amount of meat, also large order od house fried rice, there were almost no meat, I found 2 small shrimp and i time slice of chicken, completely tasteless, packed with rice and carrots and peas cold not seasoned with virtually no meat or shrimp or pork.4 eggrolls were edible. paid $37.66.
