Full order spicy tuna roll (less 2 eaten)
HoyMay P.

This restaurant is located in the outdoor Shops at Norterra. I was thinking about sushi so this was the perfect place for that. There is a kiosk or you can order at the front counter. The kiosk was being used so I went to the front counter to order my spicy tuna roll, full order. You order and pay at the counter and staff will bring your meal to you. While you're waiting for your order, grab napkins, chopsticks, and soy sauce. The order came up quickly, and it was freshly made. The full order is eight pieces of sushi. They also have bowls, salads, stirfry noodles, tempura and side orders. The sushi was good. Very clean environment with two TV screens playing with no sound. Staff wiped down the tables whenever anybody left. Shared parking outside and Wi-Fi in many of the larger stores in the center.

Food and service are always good. Beef and chicken bowl wiith extra protein is my goto. Every time I come to the Norterra location I appreciate how they treat me.

Believe this was the Spicy Tuna Roll

Didn't look into this much before going. Inside reminded me of a Chipotle in the modern/sleek sense. Seemed like I got there at the tail end of lunch rush and they were still trying to get caught up. Got a couple rolls which were alright. If you need a quick sushi fix this might hit the spot, for the price I'd go grab sushi from an actual restaurant.

In the category of asian themed fast food, Yogis Grill complies with the expectations. The menu has salads, stir-fried noodles, tempura, sushi rolls, and udon noodles - relatively basic options, but sufficiently diverse and good price vs. quality ratio. You can dine in or take the plate to go. The Crazy Tuna Roll came in a small plastic box and in a simple presentation. The chicken and beef teriyaki bowl was more generous and the larger plate could easily suffice for two. Friendly and efficient service.

Large Chicken Bowl. Good, not great. Rice wasn't as sticky as other places, and it was warm, not hot. Hope just a one off..we will see.

Yogi's are usually pretty solid. I had been to a few different ones, and had always been impressed. I saw that they had one near work, so I called in a pick up order, drove up there and grabbed my stuff. I took it out to the car to dig in. I went with a Large Chicken Bowl. Total was just under $10.00. So far in Phoenix, Yogi's has been the place that reminded me of my teriyaki places back home. Today though, it was just a tad "off". The rice wasn't as sticky as normal, and the whole bowl was just kind of luke warm. Still tasted good, but not as good as prior visits to other locations. Maybe it was just a one off? I DID call it in and pick it up (nobody was in there), so maybe they got it done right away and it was sitting there for a few minutes? Not sure. I will try this spot again to see if it was just a one off, or if this location just isn't as good as the others. We shall see.

California Roll

I've never been here but was looking for a place that isn't too fancy where I could eat sushi. I ordered the crazy tuna roll and California roll. I wasnt expecting anything spectacular but I did notice they were very busy with take out orders. I took one bite and wow, the sushi is so good!! It tasted like an upscale sushi restaurants grade sushi! Perfect temperature and the rice was fresh and soft just the way I like it! Def going back again and again! (I also tried my boyfriends chicken and beef bowl and it was very flavorful and delicious!)

Fried Yakisoba noodles. Soggy and not flavorful.

I decided to stop and give it a try as I saw it on Yelp when searching for bbq buns. Asian food is a top favorite and normally get at a good dim sum place. Ok interior is nice reminds me of maybe a former bbq restaurant. I may have done 5 stars but it chaps my hide when restaurants charge for soda water the same cost of a soda. Note not canned or bottled but same as that from the fountain. Ok to the food good my favor it is the Bao Pork belly bun peanuts and pickled veggies 5 stars. Next is the soup dumplings first time having got full but sampled 3 different ones need to try the others 4 stars. The Bbq pork buns good chunks of pork pork in the middle 3 stars. I'm going to come back and try some of the other food. Fluffy Grandma Recommends

The staff is friendly and the restaurant is spacious and clean. My favorite items on the menu have to be (in no particular order) the Roujiamo, pork and shrimp pan fried dumplings, the cucumber salad, the fungus salad, the green beans, the cold beef and tendon, and the hot and sour soup. I definitely recommend coming with a group of people so you can order a bunch if food and then share it all. Only note is that they could do without playing the entirety of Taylor Swift's discography every time I visit.

The staff here are so kind it really made the experience of having to wait a bit so much better! The gentleman at the front door recommended a wine bar around the corner to wait at after we got on the list, which was a cute divey spot. The food was delicious, we loved the papaya salad so much, there were so many flavors of spicy and tangy, and the papaya itself was very refreshing. We had the Pad kee mao and Panang curry which were also delicious. For the chicken pad kee mao we requested it to be gluten free and they gave us the same rice noodles as the Pad Thai and a slightly different sauce which was so darn good! The chicken was very tender. When the Panang curry said it came with beef, I didn't know what to think but after a single bite I was a huge fan! So many flavors hit you at once and the beef was so incredible, it was falling part. I also ordered the savory cocktail option (I can't remember the name) which had cucumber vodka, fish sauce, mint, onion, and some other goodies, and wow! It changed my life. Highly highly recommend. Overall would definitely come back here, we were a walk in on a Saturday night and had an hour and a half wait to get in.

I actually…read morejust realized that I'm not even sure if this is the correct location but since I live in Gilbert, I'm going to assume this was the one that was delivered to me. Either way, The food we received was the bomb.com! We were hanging out and watching movies on a Saturday while my lady was nursing a bit of a cold. She wanted something in the chicken noodle soup family, and after a bit of back-and-forth, we decided to look for Ramen or pho. Now that's where the start started, but that's clearly not where it ended. After a couple of different searches, we found kung fu noodle And simply picked it based on a combination of the pictures, the reviews and the fact that they have several noodle soup options that looked really appealing. Ultimately, we ended up ordering the spicy beef noodle soup, and the house special noodle soup along with their dumplings, crab Rangoon's and fried rice. Now, usually I skip straight to the review of the food at this point, but I have to give them one additional compliment. This place goes the extra mile in terms of making sure the delivery experience is Extra level. Starting with their packaging, which, for someone who is infatuated with great design, they really do a great job of driving home the full brand experience! Not only were the package is aesthetically, pleasing and artistic in some cases, but they were also very functional as well with all of the plastic containers having sealed lids that had to be broken open for the first time by us. This was just extra assurance that our food wasn't tampered with on the ride from the restaurant to the house. In addition, the food was extremely fresh and hot, even the crab Rangoon's, which in some cases can be delivered with that wet, gummy effect because of the steam and condensation that accumulates inside of many of the take-home containers that you receive from most Asian food places. I wouldn't argue that this is the kind of containers that you would necessarily keep around as home Tupperware, but the bag that they sent everything in definitely feels like it's gotta reuse or two in it. Overall, we were really happy with the quality of the food as both Soups were portion wise enough for two consecutive days of meals. Same thing with the fried rice, which was really good We got the shrimp version and it had plenty of shrimp and veggies in addition to really fresh rice. Lastly, while I'm not specifically a dumpling guy, I decided to try these because the pictures looked really good on the website. And I can't lie, these were definitely really Good dumplings. Overall, we are looking forward to trying to spot out in person, but if we have to order again before we make it in person, that's what it is going to be!

This does make it a little easier to take any leftovers to go because you can grab a lid later. The inside is very clean. You likely won't see too many other guests eating in as most get takeout. Service is frank and prompt. Ever since some of our favorite long time local hand pulled noodle places closed over the years, my partner and I have been on the search for any kind of replacement. Unfortunately, Kung Fu Noodles does not live up to that for us. You have to approach this restaurant with takeout in mind. Portion sizing is pretty generous. The food itself is very okay. With so many other takeout places to compete in the area, my partner and I likely won't return.

When we walked in it had a very fishy smell, so it kind of made us second guess our choice. But we went for it anyhow. The greeter/server was very pleasant and sat us. It was very clean inside with ample space between seat. We browsed through the menu and started with our usual edamame and pot stickers. The edamame was salted well throughout where a lot of places just put the salt on top only. We ordered a couple varieties of sake which were both good. Out of all of the things we ordered the karange skewer was just a little more oily than were use to, but still good. The spicy salmon roll had really great flavor and the lollipop roll was probably one of the better versions that we have had. The musubi was giant to say the least, it was good, but offered a bit too much rice. Overall the food and service was great and we were very happy that we ended up here!

On a Sunday evening, after checking out the Desert Botanical Garden, I was looking for some food in…read morethe area. I came across Zu Izakaya and it's great reviews as one of the options. I love Japanese food so my decision was made. I drove over and parked in their complimentary lot. Ambiance (3.5/5): I've been to Japan and there are plenty of izakayas there. Think of them as small bars which often serve solid food. Zu fits that bit. It's a relatively small restaurant, probably seats about 30 people. and it's pretty no frills for a Japanese spot. I was seated at a booth in the corner of the restaurant. They have free WiFi which is always a good touch. Service (3/5): Service was friendly, though a bit inconsistent. My waitress wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. The type of service where you have to flag them down to get what you want and to close out. Drinks (4/5): Zu has a nice menu of Japanese and Korean beverages, including sake, soju, Japanese beer, and more. With that being said, I just had an iced green tea. Food (4/5): I got a nice variety. I went with the Japanese sausage off of the grill menu, the OBI mayo roll off of the sushi menu, and the cheese corn off of the appetizer menu. Let's start with the sausage. It's a small item, two small sausages, but absolutely delicious. The sausage was bursting with flavor and basted in a sweet sauce. Minus the portion size, perfection. The cheese corn also hit the spot, but the execution was off. The corn is served on a hot platter, and unfortunately some of the corn on the edges was badly burnt. The type of situation where they should start over. Which they didn't. Lastly, the OBI mayo roll is essentially a California roll with marinated warm shrimp on top in a mayo sauce. I didn't love the hot and cold combo (shrimp and sushi), but outside of the temperature, it was a delicious roll. All in all, a very food meal. My only gripe with Japanese food is that it can get expensive quick. Given that Zu is in Tempe, I was hoping that prices would be a little cheaper. With that being said, they do have a solid happy hour (and reverse happy hour) with both food and drink specials. Next time I stop by, I'd like to check out some of their Korean options. I focused on the Japanese stuff this time (which makes the majority of the menu). Next time around, the bulgogi is calling my name!
