    Jumbo fried shrimp

Exceptional food! Exceptional service! Very reasonable prices. We've become regulars, even though we don't live in Phoenix. We often stop here driving home to Flagstaff after business in southern Arizona. Recommend you start with one of their cups of soup. Our favorites are the wonton or hot and sour. I don't think I've ever eaten here without ordering the jumbo tempura fried shrimp as an appetizer. After that, choose your own adventure we recently ordered the walnut shrimp for the first time, and it absolutely blew our minds.

We used to love coming here when we lived nearby. Haven't been in probably a year. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not only has the food quality gone down but it is NOT clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If this is what their customer restroom looks like, I don't want to imagine what the kitchen looks like.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We won't be back.

We were staying at the Hampton Inn and noticed Koi Sushi Wok near the hotel, checked the review, and decided to give it a try. It was late afternoon and not busy. We were invited to select a seat (we took a booth). The menu was huge, with both Japanese and Chinese apps, entrees, soups, salads. It was a small place with what looked like a fairly small kitchen as we wondered how they could make all that was there. My wife started with a veggie spring roll, then the orange chicken with a side of rice. I opted for the deluxe sushi combo (chef's choice) with the miso soup. We both had green tea. The spring rolls were nice, with a pleasant sauce and the miso soup, with strong miso flavor with scallions, was quite nice. The sushi combo had 6 uramaki (I think crab and cream cheese) and 6 nigiri, 3 each of 2 different too-mild tasting fish. The sushi were similar to what I'd get from Fry's supermarket. Not bad. Not great. The rice wasn't as pillowy as I like for my sushi and may have been sitting for too long. The chicken was also fine, but also nothing special. We may try this place again, but not the sushi. With such a vast selection of dishes, I need to find their strong suit. The price was absolutely appropriate for what we had -- generous portions of OK food for $53 + tip. While there, several people came in to pick up to-go orders.

Great deal for well prepared Chinese food. Based on what I see when I stop by, I'm guessing most people do sushi instead of the Chinese menu, but they're missing out! Their kitchen does a great job. The wonton soup might be one of the best deals in the area--three generously sized wontons with diced roast pork in a delicious broth. Also, their stir frys are good and very fast, so be prepared for everything to hit the table at once. I like the Mongolian beef, and for the price, it is, once again, very generous on the portion. This is definitely one of my regular stops now to and from Phoenix.

Perfection is the name of their game here! Neatly prepared sushi rolls, tight and neat are what is to be expected when going out for sushi, so that your roll isn't falling apart in your chopsticks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Charming, cheerful and comfortable surroundings make this an ideal establishment for dining with friends and family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They are nothing less than professional and they clearly care about their sushi, as should you. Check it out & become a regular. Enjoy!

Time and time again, Koi delivers great sushi and amazing dishes for a lot less than the usual sushi establishments. Their Sashimi plates offer a huge amount of fresh fish, lovingly displayed. I get take out most of the time but the times we've eaten in, service has always been great. Only thing I would change is the 'salad' which is just bagged mix and dressing... but I always choose the Miso.

Top of the line!!! Delicious, fresh, flavorful!! I started digging in before I took the picture.

Super yummy, fresh and delicious! I ordered for pick up on Uber eats they had sever bogo offers and I got two or three of them lol! I also ordered seaweed salad which I love and it was so delicious it wasn't overly seasoned and tasted very fresh! I got cold and cooked rolls and they both were really good! The gyoza were pretty standard but hot and crispy nonetheless. The server was very nice and accommodating. The only problem that wasn't really a problem was that because I ordered on the app I couldn't tip but because she was so nice I just ordered a soda and added a tip to that!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was plenty of seats and I my memory serves me correctly there was some seats at the bar were you could watch them make your sushi which is always cool I wish I would have taken more pics but I was in a hurry just trust me it was a vibe![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're in the area I'd say try it out you'll enjoy it promise!

Poke bowl with brown rice and deluxe sashimi platter. Both of us enjoyed another time here at koi Sushi Wok.

Its hard to beat great sushi ! Just look over the picture. One of these days I'll try the thai or Chinese dishes, guess its hard to change, when you find what you like...... [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place for a quick in and out .[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] See you soon !

A sad excuse for Tobiko sushi.

I normally have decent food and service here but I ordered takeout today and the guy with the crazy crooked eyes didn't make the sushi correctly. How do you work at a sushi restaurant MAKING THE SUSHI and not know what Tobiko is or how to make it properly. Also smashed all the rest of the order into one container and the Masago I paid an extra dollar for is missing! WTF!

First time trying this place.. placed a take out order... it. Was. So. Good!! They must be doing a great job for the takeout to exceed expectations. Great place for sushi and eggrolls

From the moment you walk in, the elegant décor sets the tone beautifully, blending warmth and sophistication with a tasteful nod to its Asian culinary roots. What truly sets Dao Kitchen apart, though, is the staff. Candice is exceptional -- the kind of person who turns great service into a lasting impression. She greets us with a smile that feels sincere every time, remembers our favorite dishes, our preferred sauces, our drinks, and even the little details that make us feel like more than just customers. That level of care is rare, and it means so much. It's obvious that the manager takes real pride in building a team that values hospitality, and that pride shows in every part of the experience. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented, and generously portioned. Every dish feels prepared with care, and every visit reminds us why we keep coming back. For us, Dao Kitchen is more than a place to eat -- it's a place that leaves us smiling, appreciated, and already looking forward to the next visit. Thank you to Candice, the manager, and the entire Dao Kitchen team for making each experience so memorable. You have more than earned our loyalty.

Brisk take out business. The two of us were seated at a table for 10! The only table left. Fried wontons and sweet and sour sauce were brought to the table. We ordered the vegetable egg rolls as an appetizer. Huge, piping hot and no peanut paste which as someone with a peanut allergy I'm grateful for, to say the least. Had the beef chow fun, sesame chicken and BBQ pork egg fu yung. Waitress commented...that's a lot of food for the two of you. She was right. The portions are gigantic. Could easily feed six people. Beef chow fun was good. Wide rice noodles and beef that had some texture and chew to it. Not tough, but not so tenderized that the texture is mush. Sesame chicken is excellent. Plating is poor though. It's just the sesame chicken. They could have added a sprig of broccoli and julienned carrots just for a better visual and contrast. Egg fu yung. The east coast style. Not sure what the deal is out here in Phoenix but most places make an egg patty and put the ingredients on the top. Pretty awful. Not at Dao. They make it the right way with fluffy egg patties and the ingredients INSIDE the patty. BBQ pork was there...but not enough to my liking. Three huge patties. Sauce isn't your typical "brown" goopy sauce though. It's more like a plum sauce. Different. But good. Overall, definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants in the Phoenix area. Overall cost was $55 with a beer. And a ton of food. Had two more meals from it at home. Downside? I had to ask the server for spoons. How were we supposed to get the food from the serving plates to our plate? Fried rice is very poor. Rice in a tiny bit of soy sauce and some microscopic egg. Disappointing. Add some diced veggies at least and bean sprouts. Lots of containers for the leftovers, of course. Overall, we'll come back. Huge improvement on what most Chinese restaurants in the Valley are.
