If you're reading this review, congratulations--you're about to make a life-changing decision. We walked into Pho Legend as two fairly normal people. We left as eggroll evangelists. These aren't those sad, frozen eggrolls your questionable college roommate microwaved at 2 AM. These are HANDMADE, HOMEMADE masterpieces. Crispy on the outside, pure joy on the inside. My wife couldn't stop talking about them. I'm talking pillow-conversation-length monologues about eggrolls. The pho? Absolutely incredible. It's like they figured out the secret code to perfectly balanced broth and decided to keep it all to themselves (but jokes on them, we found out). Fresh rolls were solid, but let's be real--the eggrolls are the MVP here. BUT HERE'S THE KICKER: The service. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants. A LOT. And I'm convinced the staff at Pho Legend invented friendliness. These folks treated us like long-lost family members, not customers. Awesomeness! End of review. Not really. I cannot begin to adequately describe the awesomeness of Pho Legend. I agree with everything positive that a reviewer named Craig T said about six days ago with his perspective as a frequent traveler to Vietnam. The first thing I'll add is that the owners of Pho Legend are adamantly against MSG. They build their flavors with love and time in the pot. Real bone stock taking days to prepare is the backbone (no pun intended) of the Pho menu here. The rest of the menu from appetizers to Vietnamese entrees offers an excellent selection of truly traditional Vietnamese servings. A full bar and specialty cocktails complement the food service for those so inclined. The service is definitely top notch. Courteous, prompt, attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and everything else that facilitates a great meal. Theme restaurants have struggled in this location for years. I've tried them all and finally have a place that brings me back. Pho Legend gets my coveted Real Deal award for Outstanding Ethnic Food in a Strip Mall. So elated that there's a Pho restaurant opened up in Anthem. Not your typical decor as this used to be a sushi restaurant Trappers so they keep the inside the same. Server was very pleasant and they serve alcohol here which is rare. I ordered a small Pho Bo with extra meat. The broth was excellent, flavorful but not salty. I would've liked my broth more on the hot side as the raw meat wasn't really cooking in the broth. They seem to serve non traditional types of pho like seafood, ribs, shrimp, and grilled pork/chicken. My BF order the Bun Bo Nam Bo which is a vermicelli rice bowl. I didn't try it but I thought their rice bowls were insanely priced. Usually it's about $15 but they're charging $20 a bowl. After hiking sidewinder trail, I came across amazing reviews for Pho Legend. It was a quick drive from the trail and to my next stop, the outlets. Upon entering, I noticed that the restaurant is extremely clean, bright, and welcoming. The person at the front was super friendly and seated me right away. After ordering right away, I met Mai, the owner. It is clear how proud she is of her establishment and for good reason. She takes pride in her food and is happy to talk to customers. As I mentioned, I was coming down from a hike. My food was PERFECT. I mentioned to Mai that I was full but didn't feel heavy or uncomfortable. My pho was hot, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The hot chili crunch oil is a great add in. I told Mai that I plan to return and that I would suggest this spot to anyone in the area. Definitely worth the drive or stop! Thank you Mai! read more

Came by on a Monday for lunch. Plenty of seats available as they have numerous seating options. Reviewed the menu and went with the Bun Cha and smoked salmon spring rolls. Spring rolls were okay and the dipping sauce helped enhance the flavor a bit. The Bun Cha followed shortly after and looked pretty good, but I found it to be decent at best. Maybe I'll give this place another try in the future. To try and improve this review, I will say that the waitresses were very kind and attentive for my entire meal. read more

We had a wonderful dinner at Pho Legend in Anthem, Az. The food was amazing. I had the spicy seafood Pho that was so good and my daughter had the chicken Pho that she loved. My wife had the chicken curry and she loved it too. The service was amazing with all of the employees/owners/managers checking on us throughout our dinner. Slices of raw beef were frozen together which made it hard to pull apart to put in soup. Since raw beef was frozen, the meat barely "cooked" in the broth. The worst past was that it turned the broth a pink color, which was not very appetizing at all. I couldn't eat pink soup so i dumped the broth and ate the meat and noodles 3. Takeout order only came with a few basil leaves and 3 slices of jalapeno for a small bowl of pho and a large bowl of pho. Not enough basil nor jalapeno. 4. Having visited many Vietnamese Pho restaurants, I can confidently say this one stands out. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of a sports bar and an elegant vibe, creating an inviting setting. The staff are professional, friendly, and attentive, making us feel welcomed. The owner even stopped by our table to chat, adding a personal touch. Our waiter Greyson was especially gracious. What a great find here in Anthem. I didn't expect to find a legit Vietnamese restaurant here but this place is legit. I have lived in Vietnam for several years, and am married to a Vietnamese cookbook author so I eat Vietnamese food just about every day at home. I also just returned from three weeks in Hanoi, so my tastes are recently calibrated. Thus, my standards are high and I generally have an idea of what is good Vietnamese food, and this place is good. I came here with my parents yesterday and had a really excellent bowl of Bun Thịt Nướng. The meat was juicy and crispy, the pickled vegetables were crisp and delicious, and the fried garlic was just the right bit of crunch. My parents both had the Bánh Mi sandwiches, and the bread was perfect, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, with juicy meats, crisp pickled vegetables, herbs and a delicious sauce on the side. It was so good yesterday that I went again today on my last day visiting here from NYC. This time I tried the pho with brisket, and the broth was a rich and clean bone broth and the meat was perfectly prepared, with herbs, bean sprouts and lime on the side. It was really the perfect thing for a cold day and with the large bowl I had a hard time finishing it. Even so, I was curious about the Bánh Mi and so I got one to try for myself and I can confirm the bread is just right, which is hard to do. The owner Mai, makes bread there herself to achieve the right result and she definitely stands out for doing so. I've been to many places in Vietnam that didn't have bread this good! On top of all of this, if you've been to many Vietnamese restaurants you know the ambiance isn't always the high point. Well, here it is. The restaurant is thoughtfully laid out with tasteful decorations and is spotlessly clean. The servers are all very professional but also super nice. And Mai herself is so kind and personable. We had a really nice conversation and she obviously puts her heart and soul into this place. All this being said, I highly recommend Pho Legend! It's a top tier Vietnamese restaurant anywhere. It would be one of the best in New York City where I live. And it is certainly worth a visit here in Anthem. read more

We stopped in at Pho Legend and honestly, it was such a great experience from start to finish. Everyone there, including the owners, was so friendly and welcoming. We sat up at the bar, watched football, and just had the best time. The food was absolutely amazing. We tried the Smoked Salmon Spring Roll, Chicken Pho, and Pho Ribs, and every single dish was packed with flavor and so fresh. You can really tell they put care into what they serve. Pho broth was delicious, but everything else was "meh". Ambiance is good, lots of airplanes hanging from the ceiling, and diner like seating, not what I was expecting but it was pleasant. Wait staff were nice and attentive. Despite being only 1 of 3 parties in the restaurant, our food took over 40 minutes to arrive. The pho portion is very large, ample noodles, but the premium $20+ rare steak was somewhat chewy. Another critique is the small plate of veggies and bean sprouts were not enough for two large bowls, each bowl should have had its own plate of veggies. The worst part of our meal was my son's orange chicken; very small portion for $13 and it was COLD! Unfortunately my son, who is just too nice, didn't say anything to us until we left the restaurant. I wanted to like this place, as I moved from a pho rich area of the country and regularly enjoyed $12 bowls of pho of higher quality, but I just don't think it's worth the premium price. read more

Went here for the first time on the way to Flagstaff. Got the crab rangoons and smoked salmon spring rolls for appetizers. It was sooo good. The rangoons were actually filled unlike some places where it's mostly air. Spring rolls were big, the veggies were a nice touch. Also ordered Thai tea and Vietnamese ice coffee. Thai tea was good. Coffee was a bit watery and had no sugar/sweetness to it. Got the Bun Bo Hue. I must say, it didn't really taste like the traditional Bun Bo Hue broth. It kind of tasted like tomato and chicken soup? Tomato taste was very strong. It was still delicious though, just not what I was expecting for Bun Bo Hue. My partner loved it regardless. They didn't provide us with any side garnishes like bean sprouts, jalapeño, limes, basil, etc. Nor any sauces. The owner did came out to greet us just like the other reviews were saying. She was sweet. Went here again coming back home from Flagstaff. This time we got the crab rangoons, deep fried calamari, Thai tea, and the Pho Legend Combo. Didn't get a picture of the calamari because we ate it so fast lol. Thai tea this time wasn't as great but still okay. Pho was rich and light. The rib was a bit on the dry side. They did provide the garnish plate and sauces this time after asking for it. Servers were very nice, well informed on the menu, and I loved that they can pronounce the menu items in Vietnamese. I've been eagerly waiting for this Pho restaurant to open because Pho is one of my all time favorite dishes, and wow it did not disappoint! I ordered the chicken Pho to go, and it was absolutely delicious rich, authentic, and full of flavor. I just picked up a to go order of the chicken Pho. It was so delicious and authentic. I've been so excited for this restaurant to open because Pho is one of my favorite dishes. The good: I had the shrimp roll appetizer and it was fantastic. I think there were 7 or 8 and I ate every one of them. They come with 3 dipping sauces. My husband had the beef pho and said it was also very good and that he would order it again. Needs improvement: The service. Any restaurant I visit where I have to ask them to remove dirty dishes from my table gets big points deducted. When there are empty appetizer plates sitting on the table, they should be removed before the entree arrives. And if they're not, then they certainly should be removed once the entrees are placed on the table. We had to ask our server to remove the dirty plates and he did. But the dirty entree plates sat there in front of us even after the bill was delivered. Customer Service: I asked a question about a particular item on the menu. After getting the deer in the headlights look from our waiter, he finally just said he didn't know. Standing there looking at me hoping I'd just move on, I asked if he couldn't ask the kitchen to find out the answer. Turned out they did have what I wanted. I don't fault him for not knowing. But putting in zero effort to find out isn't great customer service. You don't just say "I don't know" to a customer. Tipping: We tipped more than 20%, even though the experience was less than ideal. We do understand they are still trying to work the kinks out. But we wouldn't have left that much had we known the tip doesn't go to our server. It gets put in a jar at the reception stand. So there's no incentive to go above and beyond if everyone gets the same amount of tips anyway. I would say Pho Legend is worth trying but I would wait maybe another couple months before going. read more

Saturday night we had take out so I can't speak to the table service. I have celiac disease and I had the Pho Bo with zero issues! Also the fresh spring rolls are fantastic and celiac safe. I'm very reactive to gluten so this place is amazing!! My friend had the Bun Thit Nuong and it was different. We weren't expecting lettuce on the dish, but made it work! Also, menu says closed on Wednesday but we tried to have dinner there last Sunday and it was closed. But this place is definitely worth a visit! I used to live in San Jose California, which had a huge Vietnamese population, so we had access the some of the best Pho restaurants in the U.S. Pho Legend is up there with the great Pho restaurants I have become used to. New dining experience in Anthem! My Girlfriend and I came here to try this new restaurant and also to support our neighbor. This was my first time trying a new type of food/cuisine other than the usual burgers and chicken fare. Our waitress was very helpful in explaining some of the menu offerings and best recommendations. The decor was fresh and vibrant and very inviting and cozy. Kinda cool with the Air Plaines hanging from the ceiling!. The food was terrific and freshly made and you can tell the Chief takes pride in serving a quality dish and skilled presentation.
