Bug

My brother-in-law ordered wings for us annnnnd to our shock we found this in the food. A bug literally crawled out of the wing packaging. Thank God we saw it before anyone ate anything. This is so disgusting and so unsanitary. We called the restaurant to let them know, and they hung up on us. How unprofessional and rude of you guys. The food is disgusting and their behavior was disgusting as well. Nobody should eat here. A health inspector needs to go check this place out immediately. If this was in the packaging, take a second to imagine what is crawling on your food before you make a purchase.

Yummy!
Mike J.

The fried corn is amazing! Service is friendly, and the chicken is delicious. I don't think I've ever seen my four-year-old eat so much chicken. He loved it too.

Pho Legend

If you're reading this review, congratulations--you're about to make a life-changing decision…read more We walked into Pho Legend as two fairly normal people. We left as eggroll evangelists. These aren't those sad, frozen eggrolls your questionable college roommate microwaved at 2 AM. These are HANDMADE, HOMEMADE masterpieces. Crispy on the outside, pure joy on the inside. My wife couldn't stop talking about them. I'm talking pillow-conversation-length monologues about eggrolls. The pho? Absolutely incredible. It's like they figured out the secret code to perfectly balanced broth and decided to keep it all to themselves (but jokes on them, we found out). Fresh rolls were solid, but let's be real--the eggrolls are the MVP here. BUT HERE'S THE KICKER: The service. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants. A LOT. And I'm convinced the staff at Pho Legend invented friendliness. These folks treated us like long-lost family members, not customers. No pretense, no "we're rated high so deal with it" energy--just genuine, authentic warmth that made us feel like we belonged there. Go. Now. Your taste buds and your heart will thank you.

Some broths are made. At Pho Legend, they're created…read more Vietnamese food legends? Apparently they're created in Anthem, too. From the second you walk in, you feel it. The energy is warm. Friendly. Outgoing. The kind of place where people are genuinely glad you showed up. Bren, our server, was perky, dialed in, and full of great recommendations. The kind of service that makes the meal better before the food even hits the table. Mai, the owner, started Pho Legend as a passion project. Her goal was simple: show Anthem what real, quality Vietnamese food actually tastes like. No MSG. Broth simmered for three days. Three. Days. That kind of patience shows up in every spoonful. And she's so sweet and wonderful. Worth the trip just to meet her! My wife ordered the beef pho and her only complaint? She got full and had to stop eating it. Tragic, honestly. I went with the seafood pho and wow. This is one of those rare bowls where you don't reach for the hoisin or the sriracha. You just don't. The broth stands completely on its own. Deep. Clean. Rich. Excellence in a bowl. And the egg rolls? Crisp. Fresh. Gone way too fast. Five star excellence. Anthem is lucky to have this one.

"Double-Fried Delight: Tipsy Chicken Gets It Right"…read more Tipsy Chicken in Mesa brought me right back to the Korean fried chicken spot I really enjoyed in Seoul years ago. We ordered the 7-piece bone-in chicken wings with sweet and spicy and honey butter sauces, and it delivered on every level. The double-fried crunch was perfect, the meat stayed juicy, and both sauces were excellent--the sweet and spicy had a nice kick, while the honey butter was rich and addictive. The fried mandu and fried rice rounded out our meal nicely, giving us a satisfying variety of flavors and textures. The vibe is casual and unpretentious, which I appreciated. We even brought our own boba drinks and no one batted an eye. It's the kind of spot where you can just relax and enjoy good food without any fuss. Service was friendly and efficient. If you're craving authentic Korean fried chicken without the plane ticket to Seoul, this place hits the spot. Worth the visit.

First timers here…read more The honey butter (for the kidlet) and soy garlic boneless wings were tender and juicy. A win! The fries were hot, crispy, and plentiful. And the garlic mayo? Yum! A win! The cheesy corn was a delicious surprise and uniquely presented. A win! The crispy fried tofu was not so crispy. Or flavorful. Oops. Weekday, lunch service was good. Interesting ambiance (very dark). Oh, well. All in all, a pleasant stop in a little strip mall in Mesa's Asian district. Oh, yeah. We'll be back.
