Easily my favorite place to eat in anthem, almost every food item that I've had there has exceeded my expectations, especially for a small restaurant in anthem. Their steak is always perfect. I love their salmon. They have amazing wings and my son is addicted to their sweet potato fries. Cocktails have been hit or miss from the bar in my experience, but I have gotten more good than bad. Really reliable solid local American/Mexican Bar food. Above the average service. Our favorite dishes are the country fried chicken, the club sandwich, the taquitos, my kids loved the fries and the desserts. Especially the cookie dough chimichanga. I have been a customer of Legends Bar & Grill in Anthem, AZ since it opened; I have watched it expand over a couple of decades into a great restaurant for all interests within the community with its well prepared meals, congenial atmosphere, prompt service, and fair prices. I visit Legends at least four or five times a month and have been doing so for years; plus, I have recommended Legends Bar & Grill to others far more than any other restaurant in the North Valley area. HOWEVER, it appears Legends might be succumbing to "service pricing creep," in that I ordered a "Legends Burger" and asked to have some condiments left off it--but I requested a slice of onion on the burger. Everything seemed to work out well, although the onion (important later!) was about the size of a half-dollar. When I was paying the bill for my friend and me, my buddy asked what the $1.00 side charge was for as he spotted the bill, as we did not order anything "extra"--or so I thought! It seemed no big deal, but we asked the waitress. She responded that the $1.00 side fee was for a "slice of onion!" I gave her a 20% tip on our almost $50.00 bill, and we left--only to ponder why Legend's management or ownership would start charging customers in such a chintzy way--a practice that precludes my patronage in the future. One might assert: "...It's only a buck...!" However, such a practice is no way to foster, or even maintain, good customer relations when such an obvious rip-off is in play. Sorry, Legends, getting that "extra" buck just cost the restaurant far more than that.... read more

I tried something new here other than my usual Anthem Burger and it was the seafood pasta. What a great meal - it is angel hair pasta with shrimp and salmon and a great cream sauce. I have tried the mushroom ravioli a long time ago and it was also quite good. I have to say for a local sports bar it serves up some consistently good food. Now one thing that is disappointing is that they seemed to have changed their French fries. They are still pretty good but before they had some crispy finish to them that was something that was lightly globbed into each fry strand that was a true differentiator and it is definitely missed. I hope they can bring them back. Also, I have notes that they are giving less in the way of fries than before and that is also disappointing. Other than that, I do certainly recommend this spot for locals or if you are in the neighborhood. read more

I hate to say it, but to me Anthem is where businesses especially local ones go to die. I'm not saying that's true so don't fact check me, but every time I stop in the area looking for something that could revive it just a little I am disappointed, frustrated or if excited it is short lived. Most small local owned don't survive. We have to try harder to support them and keep this community going. Today I found myself in the Safeway Parking lot and Legends caught my eye. The parking lot is very busy and it took me a moment to find spot. There's a nice patio at the entrance with misters and it felt pretty decent out there if you choose to eat outside. Upon walking in w me with a hostess station. It a quite busy as it a noon an no one was at the counter so I waited. Fairly quick an employee acknowledged me and told me gets be with me in a few moments. I appreciated the acknowledgment. Once helped we were quickly seated, given menus and our drink orders taken. The vibe is great and so many different TV's to watch sports and such; which is of course ha they're known for. There's a decent size bar and with the great happy hour during the week it was full. The menu is vast and it was a bit hard o choose a main course. We decided on the Anthem Nachos with green chili pork to share ahead of our meal. They looked quite large in other photos so we decided to share the triple decker club sandwich with fries. They offer regular or sweet potato fries or for a few extra bucks onion rings. Thank God I didn't also order the Cuban sandwich because after we ate the nachos we were border line full and when the club was brought out holy smokes it was huge! They even split the club onto two separate plates for us which we appreciated. When I say the club was huge I'm speaking of the half portion I ate ha ha . I'm going out on a limb and saying it was one of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. The bread was toasts well, but not hard or burnt . It was loaded with meat, avocado, bacon... You name it it had it all. The fries were crispy. The nachos were good, the green chili pork was moist and flavorful. Plenty of toppings including jalepeno, beans, guacamole and of course some cheese. They were good, but I will say the way the shredded cheese stuck to the chips it seemed microwaved for moment. Not a huge issue; again still good, but I'd prefer another method. That being said I'd eat them again. Service was awesome. She was friendly and funny. We didn't have to ask for nothing or wait long. From what I can gather Legends has been around decades. I can't say if in the same location, but it's definitely a win Anthem needed and it's local! Prices were fair and I was able to take half of my half club home ha ha . Come hungry and bring four friends. I'm counting down to my next visit to try the jalepeno burgers or Cuban. read more

If you are looking for a quick bite and a cold beer Legends is here for you. I didn't catch our waiters name but she was fast and attentive. I had 12 piece wings hot and my daughter had a kids pizza. Food came out in about 15min even though it was a packed Sunday football afternoon. It was a cool experience to see all the anthem locals cheering and talking smack to each other about the game. We sat outside for lunch and had a really nice time. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad and it was amazing!! Highly recommend it. Hubby had the steak salad. He would get it again. The much room burger and the jalapeño burger were a big hit at our table. The pretzel bites were also great. If you are into sports, you will enjoy the layout of the inside as they make all the seats comfortable to watch the game. Lots of tv screens. Best sports bar I've ever been too. I must first say that I usually have very good food but this time I was left wishing I had gone somewhere else. The Cajun wings had very little dry rub on them so I had to consult my pantry and the onion rings tasted like they had been lying around for a few days. They were very dry inside and unfortunately I had to discard most of them. Had I dined in, rather than having it to go, I definitely would have returned them and ordered something else. Restaurants have to work hard to be this mediocre. Legends would benefit from more competition to either improve or exit the market and let someone else give it a go. Blackened chicken sandwich had no discernible blackened flavor. It was a dry hockey puck of chicken. Sweet potato fries were soggy and limp. Chicken in the salad was equally flavorless and dry. NY strip was cooked to wrong temp and again, no discernible flavor of salt or pepper. Standouts were the steamed broccoli and the cheese curds. Young server was competent but that's about the limit. There is no compelling reason that I can find to ever go back here unless it's just to say I support local business. This place does not live up to its name. read more

Every time we come here we wonder......why did we come back. The food is so so at best and same with the service. Zero atmosphere. We ordered burgers that were just ok. We should have just cooked our own at home they would have been way better. There were about 12 fries in each of our plates. We forgot to order the happy hour chips and queso so tried to get our waitress's attention and every time she came close to our table she wouldn't even look at us and we were trying to get her attention. Finally got them ordered and the chips were like they came from a bag and the "queso" was canned cheese sauce that was nasty. Being that Anthem is a small town I think they need to up their game quite a lot. I know we probably won't go back. A lot better places to eat, not necessarily in Anthem but a short drive outside of town is worth it to get much better food. read more

Family of 8 had lunch at this location after a Lacrosse game for my grandsons. We had 4 kids with us ages 5-16. We usually eat here after all sporting events because closest thing in Anthem, and usually we have a party of 10-15 but this day not everybody could attend. First a good waitress would "ALWAYS" be sure a customer is aware that there is an extra charge for a tiny (I mean super tiny) cup of ranch, wing sauce, etc., but ours (Lauren) didn't say a word!! When you order a Buffalo chicken sandwich you expect it to have Buffalo sauce on it, which it didn't, therefore asked for some. When the bill came we were all shocked to see we had been charged $2.75 for 3 little cups of sauce. When saying something to waitress she said, yeah and nothing she could do about it. My son asked to speak to manager who we then were informed he was owner "RICK". He was the most ignorant, unprofessional and useless excuse of a man!! When my daughter-in-law explained her Buffalo chicken sandwich came without sauce (even waitress confirmed), he argued about taking cost off and then literally stuck his tongue out at her like a 2 year old child would do and started making mocking sounds. It took everything to keep my son from going after him, but he isn't worth the ground we walk on, so paid the bill but will "NEVER" visit again. We know many people who visit Anthem and have shared our experience with them. Bad enough you act like a jerk, but for my grandkids to see it was unbelievable and caused my son to teach his boys that there are real morons in this world and they aren't worth going to jail over. Super pleased with a recent spontaneous Sunday evening dinner at Legends... We had a soccer scrimmage that went long right down the street and a lot of starving kids and adults... Four families all had the same idea and we ended up here at the same time. The staff at Legends was super accommodating and helped us move tables together in the back left corner of the restaurant. We ended up having a kids table that sat eight kids and an adults table that sat eight adults. Our server was incredible, taking our orders by family, attentive with food and drinks for all, and the food was also very good! I had a turkey burger -- protein style, with sweet potato fries, my husband had a protein bowl, and our kids had mac & cheese and spaghetti. Others at the table enjoyed tacos, burgers, fish & chips, chicken fingers and more... Everyone seemed very happy with their respective orders. I don't find myself in Anthem very often, but I would totally return to Legends if the opportunity arises in the future! read more

Always good service and good food. Their daily specials are always great. I wish I'd have room for dessert, but I can't not order the nachos. Both the chicken and pork are delish! The only bad thing is the noise level, both inside and outside. If you are sensitive to noise, or have hearing aids, it can be difficult to sit through a meal here. read more

Recently visited Legends Bar which was busy on a Monday night likely due to the football game. The ambience is really nice, booths are comfortable, bar is large, and there's high top seating also. TV's all over the place too which would make this a go-to place when games are playing. We ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich which was phenomenal and their Street Tacos which were also nice. The rice with the tacos wasn't that good as there was a strong artificial flavor to them. The warm pretzel rolls were nice but the cheese was horrible. Clearly microwaved as the sides were hot but inside was cold. It was also very clumpy and in generally poorly prepared. Service was great and very friendly. Definitely makes the place feel welcoming as everyone seemed to know each other inside. **COVID: Staff was wearing masks but tables were not sanitized in between customers.
