While visiting the area we decided to try Patties, Pints & Pizzas for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The restaurant is your typical bar with sports on tv, customers playing pool & sharing drinks. Music playing just loud enough to enjoy but not overwhelming. Our server was Stephanie & she did an excellent job serving us. She was really good at listening to us & took hubby's dairy allergy seriously going & verifying with kitchen staff before we ordered. Hubby had the pepperoni pizza without cheese & it was delicious. The sauce was very tasty. I ordered the cheesesteak & it was amazing the bread was absolutely perfect (the sandwich warmed up beautifully when I finished it later) the onion rings were good too. Took a group for lunch. What a mistake. So slow, food was cold, burgers barely cooked, chees on c Grilled cheese not.wven melted. Shaved ribeye on sandwich was more like ground beef. A complete disappointment. We all live in Black Canyon City and no e of us will be going back. Only good thing was the waitress. Also the odor around the brestrooms was awful. A group of us went there at noon and they were not busy at all till we got there. The waitress was amazing and attentive that's the good thing. The food took over an hour to come out and all I wanted was a grilled cheese but it wasn't grilled. But toasted bread with cheese that was not totally melted. Went there yesterday with a group of 15ish, our server was great...the food not so much. I had pizza, and it was fairly good. The burgers need serious help! They were as thin as or thinner than a McDonald's hamburger. If you advertise a fresh 80/20 Angus burger, one would expect more than a paper-thin, maybe meat patty. The burgers I witnessed were definitely frozen pucks of ick! The grilled cheese wasn't melty cheese, fries and tots came out cold. Chicken strips had problems of their own, and the shaved ribeye looked like hamburger. And let's talk about the wait: we were the only ones there, and it took an hour+ for our food to come out... well, most of it. 4 of our people waited an extra 5-10 minutes for their food to come out. We went back for a 2nd visit. Not as good as the 1st. The help wanted sign on the front door might have been a clue. Cheesesteak was ok, Kickin Chicken sandwich was terrible - a frozen, processed patty with a weird hot sauce, fried pickles were burnt and stuck together and tasted like the oil was either too hot or needed to be changed. Just ate at this establishment today. My husband and I shared the TNT Explosion and All American Burger, and came out more than satisfied. The burger was cooked perfectly medium with pink center, the tots were hot, crunchy and tasty. The service was excellent. Makes me wonder a bit why it is so quiet - at 11 when they opened today, we two and two more were the only customers. This was my second time, and my husband's 4th or 5th time eating lunch here. I noticed that on google map, it did not pull up like other restaurants nearby. I hope to come back again to try other menu items! read more

Best BLT ever, I can't say enough about the food and service. The food comes out hot and good. The appetizers are hot and crunchy. And the sandwiches come out about 10 minutes later which is a great time as your eating your appetizers. The Zucchini and Mushrooms are really good, nice and crunchy like it's suppose to be. The pretzel bites are great too. I usually take an order home for me. Every Sunday we go to this place. We sit down, the service is great, nice and friendly. The bathrooms are nice and clean and roomy. They even have a sitting area in the women's bathroom . The food is really good, the drinks are good. Rootbeer float is pretty good too. I do recommend this place if you like a nice restaurant with good food, great service and a nice place to relax. read more

Okay, I see reviews on the three month old Burgers & Brews, located in the old Glossy Heifer, are running in the extremes. Seems to be a love it or hate it thing. Time to check it out for myself. I'm a solid four stars or better in the semi-rural Arizona beer and burgers genre. Beer selection is a serious five. Something for everyone, a lot of regional offerings, and the time proven national standards for better brews. Service was prompt, attentive, and gracious from the moment we walked in the door. What's not to like about a menu filled with burgers, dogs, and chicken sandwich options? And where else can you get chicken gills? (See photo. That sort of misprint is just good humor and speaks to the casual light hearted ambiance of this place!). Three of us went for various burgers and one for a chicken option. Excellent meat, cooked exactly to order. Medium was properly pink in the center with a tasty caramelization around the edges. The house specialty here seems to be the various saucings. I had a Swiss burger, and if I remember correctly it came with a garlic aioli. Truly excellent. One person went for the basic cheeseburger and substituted siracha Mayo for the standard Mayo. Also top notch. Buns were warm and soft. The grilled chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. I tend to be a burger purist, meaning no ketchup, mustard or sauces. Just give me pickles and onions. The sauces here are a specialty and a treat, but I might go bare next time just to get a great burger. To check the side options we had fries, onion rings, and tots. All came perfectly prepared, crispy, and not at all greasy. Air fried? Don't know. It's these sides that pull the rating down from five to four stars. They were all excellent, but seemed to be a standard frozen commercial product. Don't get me wrong, I'm going back again and will definitely enjoy the sides, but competition in the big wide world of hand cut and prepared rings and fries is brutal. And hey, these guys have only been open for three months this and are filling the void for a badly need quality burger and beer joint in the area. I'd definitely suggest running up to New River for a casual night out with family and friends. read more

I chose the BYOB with cheddar, lettuce, pickles & tomato with their special sauce and decided to try the sweet potato fries. My kids loved their chicken and fries and they can be very picky eaters. Went to Burgers and Brew recently for a happy hour get together. It was a nice casual atmosphere. Our server was attentive and very nice. It's like she could tell we were there for an overdue catch up with two other friends and didn't try to rush us out. The happy hour had a really good selection of food and drinks. They also have daily specials as well. We did the totchos (nachos but on top of tater tots instead of chips) and the pretzel bites. Even though we got the appetizer sizes of both, there was plenty to split between the two of us. The tots were nice and supportive of all the toppings and didn't immediately get soggy and weighted down. The pretzel bites were thick but soft and fluffy on the inside. I had my eye on the Breakfast Burger for next time. They have the nice big soda/water cups which I always appreciate and the Dr Pepper was crisp! Perfect for a hot day. There is a large outside patio but a storm was rolling in and it was over 100 degrees so we didn't sit out there but it will be nice to when it cools down. read more

We live nearby and decided to try this "new" place in the area for a birthday dinner. The burgers were absolutely awesome. We had a Swiss royale burger and I had the Phoenix heat. Both were cooked medium perfectly and were delicious!! In our party we also had a chili dog, which was great, and lots of awesome tater tots and onion rings. Service was professional and friendly, they kept checking on us and everyone else around. Great new place we will visit frequently. The burgers were better before rebranding. Seems like they used to be thicker. This was my favorite burger place, but now it's up in the air. Burger is still pretty tasty, but not much to it. The sweet potato fries have changed to waffle fries and have been slightly undercooked the past couple of times. We haven't tried the pizzas yet. Well I hate to say it but here we go again! Another burger joint that does not seem to care what the masses have to say about their establishment. The owner/Manager doesn't ever seem to take responsibility for the actions of her staff or her restaurant. I say this because I have read the reviews and her responses to the negative one where she makes sure to say that they have high standards or fresh foods or you are lying or this never happened, and or we hope you reconsider, all CRAP! Nevertheless, a co-worker and I stopped bye on our way to Winslow for a quick bite, MISTAKE #1, we both ordered burgers and tots and a soda. Mistake number 2. I asked for extra onions and asked for no tomatoes, my coworker asked for no tomato's, mistake number 3. We both asked for medium rare, Mistake number 4. So when the meal had not arrived approximately 30 minutes later we asked the server and were told your orders are on their way out right now, and sure enough here they came. We were both rather hungry so very happy to see our order come to the table. To our disappointment we both reached for a tot and it was cold, not like frozen cold but like they had been sitting a while, Told the server and she said sorry about that and that is when I noticed that I had no onions and had tomatoes and my coworker also had Tomatoes. Both were severely over cooked. We asked for them to return them to the kitchen and have them remade because they were not what we ordered. Next came the heavy sigh and the attitude but off they went with our cold wrong order. The only difference in the order was now we needed them to go as we had been there over an hour and hadn't eaten. When the food arrived this time, I think the tots were the same cold tots that were originally on my plate, I had the extra onions but again had tomatoes as did my coworker. Oh and they brought them out on a plate not to go. I stated that the tots were cold and both burgers had tomatoes on them again, and that we asked for them to go. Please return these and no need to make anything else as we had to leave. He is the kicker, they said ok let me get your check. I said check? They stated yeah for your drinks. Oh wait did I say, we never received our drinks? So my suggestion to the owner that has an issue with taking responsibility for the actions of here team.
