I was headed up to Northern Arizona and decided to make a stop in Anthem for some Mediterranean food. It did not disappoint. The World Cup was playing, which made for a fun atmosphere, and the chicken gyro platter was absolutely delicious with a generous portion size. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I only wish I lived closer so I could stop in more often. These are the types of restaurants we need to support more--healthy, affordable options that give people, especially our youth, an alternative to constantly relying on fast food chains. You can't improve on perfection. Or the generous meat portion in these magnificent treats. Every wrap I order takes me back to magic times as a young man in the late 1970s in Chicago where I was introduced to the Gyros by an old Greek street vendor who barely spoke English. The entire menu board screams Chicago, including classic Chicago Dogs, and a variety of Greek inspired take-away sandwiches, wraps, and salads with something for everyone. Another Mediterranean restaurant to add to our list and like the others, this one didn't disappoint. We were hoping to get the steak platter, but they were cooking a large catering order so they couldn't take anymore grill orders, so we pivoted and got the chicken shawarma platter. It came with rice, greek salad, one pita and a small cup of tzatziki. The only thing it didn't come with, like most of the Mediterranean platters we have ordered at other locations, is hummus. You can purchase hummus separately, but I knew we were going to have too much food as it was so I ordering more food wasn't in the cards. Everything was so tasty! The pita was super soft and warm. The flavors of the chicken, rice, and tzatziki were outstanding. The perfect bite was all four together. The salad dressing was a basic red wine vinegar dressing, it was good, nothing that would knock your socks off. The portions are huge. You can easily share a platter or if didn't you would have another meal for another time. We ordered two pistachio baklava which were also a generous portion and delicious! In all, with one drink, the platter, an extra tatziki, an extra dressing and two baklava, it as just over $30. That is what you would expect for a platter that is huge. Got a gyros platter here, right when they opened up at 11 AM, I was the fifth one in line to order, food was brought to me. The entire time I was here eating lunch the spit of meat was not turning nor on. Pretty sure the meat they used was left over from yesterday, I even think they were deep frying it before putting it on the griddle. So it's been a little while since my last review and I went to this amazing place for my birthday My sister took me. The Greek food was amazing I had a Greek salad large with a ton of chicken on it that was seasoned so beautifully. The pita bread was amazing oh and the ziki sauce was amazing. Gave this place a chance because of the raving yelp reviews and I was pretty disappointed. At a glance it looks pretty good, but I won't be returning. For starters, people say the portion sizes are huge and great but my food came out to about 19.50 before tip, so a decent portion is kind of expected. However, they seem to prioritize quantity over quality because I'm not eating this entire disappointing meal. The steak was cooked so inconsistently, I asked for medium and the pieces I got ranged from medium rare to well done. It's a bit sad too because one or two of the steak pieces were really good, tender, and seasoned well while the rest were bland, or cooked incorrectly, or even low quality and chewy. Unfortunately some of the steak pieces became a part of my dog's happy meal. The rice tasted like old rice that was recooked or maybe just reheated, the flavor was there but the age was not. Not all hope is lost though because the pita bread and some of salad is pretty good, I ended up making a sandwich with some of that and the steak. read more

I was pleasantly surprised tonight with our delicious dinner at Mr Gyros. This has been a local business in Anthem for so long and I'm so surprised I haven't tried it yet but so glad we took a leap tonight. I called to place a food order over the phone to be ready and the gentlemen I spoke with over the phone was outstanding. He was so friendly and I had a handful of questions and he was so patient and explained all dishes and ingredients. He made it so easy and made sure to explain when food would be ready since it's cooked fresh. I will start by saying ALL the food items we got were delicious! We split the cheesesteak which was very tasty, pretty skimpy on meat but great flavor. My husband got the steak kebab sandwich which he loved, cooked perfectly to his requested temp and good size. We've been coming here for about 9 years. Today the rice on the gyro platter tasted and looked like rice a roni, barely edible unfortunately. Usually it's a gorgeous dark rice that accommodates the platter. The chicken was good as were the burgers we got. Also the total somehow came out to over $50 which we've never spent there.
