Great lunch @ De Babel today. Had a Mezza platter. The platter is great if you want to try a bit of everything from the appetizer side of the menu, perfect to share with a small party. The platter consisted of stuffed grape leaves, hummus, tahini, tabouli, baba ganoush, falafel balls and pita bread. Everything was super fresh. I enjoyed the tabouli which came with fresh lemon and pomegranate seeds. Very fresh and savory. Def a top Middle Eastern destination in Scottsdale.

Bustling even on a weekday evening. Heads up their spicy sauce is actually super spicy - loved that. Their side of fries is a MOUNTAIN so be ready to share

There's a reason De Babel is consistently rated 5 stars - based on my first visit, it is 100% worthy of all the stars! The portions are incredibly generous. The staff is great. The food is amazing. What more could you ask?! I ordered the gyro with roasted vegetables as a combo with fries, and had to take pictures just to capture how much food came out. Everything was delicious! Tzatziki sauce is homemade, which I preferred on the side. What really made the experience stand out was the staff. The wait team was genuinely friendly and welcoming from start to finish, which made the whole meal even better. Bonus points for fountain drinks, too! I was very tempted by the swirl ice cream and homemade cookies for dessert, but I was too full this time. It just gives me another reason to come back! Thank you, De Babel!

This place is a an absolute MUST TRY!! Everything was so delicious and tasty. I personally got the chicken shawarma sandwich and it was so yummy. The pickles complimented the chicken and sauce so well. Their portions are huge as well so definitely worth the money. I will 100% be coming back! The hospitality and service were seriously unmatched! The environment seemed so friendly and welcoming. One of the staff members even offered me a small cup of ice cream for free as I was leaving. I mean talk about going above and beyond. I really don't have a single bad thing to say.

Such a clean store, we saw workers walking around fix up the lobby every 5 minutes. Cashiers could tell we were first timers right away and offered to help us with the menu. We ended up getting the chicken shawarma sandwich and the gyro sandwich. We also got a side of fries, WHICH WERE MASSIVE!!! The gyro came with a tzatziki, while the chicken shawarma came with a garlic sauce. The chicken was loadedddd with dark meat, could've used more of the pickled veggies tho. Gyro was perfect, good balance between meat, pita, sauce, and pickled veg. If we came back we would definitely get a combo instead of separate sandwich and fries, you definitely get better value that way. I want to try their plates next, I saw some people eating the chopped salad and it looked so refreshing and delicious on their bowls! Casual place where we still felt looked after by staff! 100% recommend!

Wow! So impressed with how fresh and amazing the food was. I ordered the mezze platter which came with hummus, baba ganoush, dolmas, falafel, tabouleh, pickles and pita. The portions were generous (actually masssive) and this is best shared with more than one person. Hummus was smooth and creamy. Baba ganoush was perfection- not overly smoky. Pita bread was warm and fluffy. I also got the lamb tikka plate with a chopped salad. The lamb was tender and juicy and the chopped salad was so refreshing. The service was great and friendly and I truly wish they had this back in California. If I lived in Scottsdale, I would eat here all the time. They were so sweet they gave my friend a birthday cookie and ice cream too. The ambiance is very casual and low key. Good for take out or dine in. Highly recommend this spot if you're in town.

Still a really great restaurant! I love the lamb tikka sandwich. One of my absolute favorite things on the menu. The falafel is wonderful and well seasoned and just amazing. The service is also good here in fact I think it's gotten better. The ambience is functional and clean. It's well maintained and well lit. Still one of the best middle eastern restaurants in the north Scottsdale area.

This is my second time here, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The food and service are consistently spot on. The chicken shawarma sandwich is always a winner--loaded with juicy dark meat chicken, garlic sauce, and pickles, and served with a generous portion of crispy French fries. If you're in the area and craving Mediterranean food for lunch, this is the spot to go.

Stopped in thanks to Yelp. Host led us through the menu and offered suggestions that ended up being spot on and super tasty. The team was so friendly and helpful - awesome food and people!!

    Tractor Lemonade - excellent!
    Chet M.

Great vibe and Noam at the counter was a standout -- exceptional service, warm and efficient. Tractor lemonade is a must. Food didn't quite match the Yelp Top 100 hype. Hummus was lovely, but the chicken shawarma was dry, falafel too hard, and fries overdone. Next time I'm going straight for the sandwich! My Middle Eastern food benchmark is Mazra in Redwood City -- extraordinary. De Babel has the bones to play in that league. Hey De Babel team, show Noam this review for extra smiles!

We came here for a late lunch a couple of weeks ago on a beautiful winter day! Their food is definitely top notch and the service was excellent. It was packed inside so that gives you an indicator of how this place performs. We were a little disappointed with the outside seating. We tried 2 tables, both of which were dirty and/or wobbly. We also had to move because there was an awful trash smell from the neighboring business just lingering while we were eating. I know they don't control the trash smell, but the cleanliness was an issue. Hoping that can be addressed by reading this review!

Finally got to try the spot that's everyone's raved about and it really is worth the hype! At the table we tried the hummus, the chicken tawook, the schnitzel and the shawarma. Hands down!! The shawarma won. The staff was incredibly nice and they have such a cool vibe in there! Definitely check out the spices that are on sale there as well! Key takeaway: I cannot recommend the shawarma enough! If you're going here get the lunch special shawarma and fries you will not regret it!

This is my go to for Mediterranean food. Its a hidden gem! I like to get the sample platter. It has everything. Stuffed grape leaves, hummus, babaganoush, falafel balls. I've also had their lamb tikka plate which is delicious. Lamb is tender and so flavorful. Their chopped salad is fresh and amazing.

We brought family from out of town and had a party of 11 (six adults and five kids). There was a long wait, which we completely understood. We spent the time at the bar where the service was excellent, and the kids browsed the nearby shops. Unfortunately, once we were seated, the experience went downhill. Our server seemed to have little sense of urgency. Everything took an unusually long time, but the biggest issue was the food, which took well over an hour despite being a very simple order of burgers, sandwiches, and other basic menu items. Throughout the wait, we watched tables seated after us receive their food and leave while we were still waiting. The most frustrating part was the lack of communication. Rather than checking in or providing an update, our server was frequently visible chatting with coworkers and rolling silverware. When our food finally arrived, it was at best room temperature, making it seem like it had been sitting for quite a while before being brought to the table. We asked to speak with a manager, who said she would look into it, but never returned to follow up. That lack of acknowledgment or accountability was even more disappointing than the delay itself. We declined the offer of dessert because we needed to get the kids home, yet instead of bringing the check promptly, our server spent additional time clearing the table before finally processing our payment. As someone who has worked as a server, I understand that delays happen and kitchens get backed up. What makes the difference is communication, ownership, and making guests feel like their time matters. None of that happened here. It's unfortunate because we've had good experiences in the past, but this visit left us embarrassed that we chose this restaurant to host visiting family.
