I checked out thea for my birthday dinner on a Sunday. Located on the rooftop of the Global Ambassador Hotel, this Mediterranean restaurant was quite the experience. Parking is valet only, but since I'm not about that life, I found some parking on the street in a residential neighborhood five minutes away on foot. Ambiance (5/5): Definitely one of the areas in which thea shines. While they have both an indoor and outdoor area, I highly recommend sitting outside on the rooftop. If you do, you'll experience scenic views of the mountains in the background. If you can catch a sunset here, even better. Outside of the views, the restaurant has the fresh decor you would expect from a Mediterranean/Greek restaurant. There's also an outdoor area, and an indoor bar area, if you're just looking for drinks. Service (5/5): Attentive, friendly, and efficient service. Exactly what I was hoping for, especially on my birthday. They were kind enough to hook me up with a dessert for my special day. Much appreciated! Drinks (4.5/5): A full bar with a nice wine list and an interesting cocktail menu. I split a bottle of wine with my parents, but also started off with a refreshing cocktail. Food (5/5): I started off with the flaming saganaki because how can you say no to cheese flambeed table side. Dinner with a little entertainment. If you've never had saganaki cheese, it's a delicious Greek cheese. Pair it with some pita bread and you have yourself a delicious app. From there, I had the grilled skirt steak with crushed potatoes. Naturally, I ordered my steak medium rare. The skirt steak was sliced and cooked perfectly. The potatoes were well seasoned and paired nicely with the steak. All in all, a perfect meal. My parents similarly had great things to say about their selections. Thea isn't cheap. And it does have the see and be seen type of vibe which I'm not a big fan of. Yet, despite all of that, it's an excellent dining experience all-around. While it's more of a special occasion type of spot in my book, I'm definitely looking forward to stopping by again sometime! read more

Such an enjoyable afternoon. Came here on my husband birthday to have some cocktails and appetizers with a Mountain View. We didn't have a reservation but they allowed us to have a few cocktails on the patio, as long as we were up before their 5:30pm reservation. On this occasion, we had the Calamari, Muhammara and Manti Dumplings. The Calamari and Dumplings were great. I would pass on the Muhammara. Would have loved to dine here so next time will make a reservation. The views, quality of drinks and most of the service was impressive and impeccable. Down to the uniforms, this place is high on impressions and they made a good one. Appreciate the special care they put into making my husband Birthday Happy Hour special!!! I returned and Thea showed up this time . Thank you to Mark the manager for making sure we were treated right to celebrate our parties big moment this is what I was expecting the first time I came in and they didn't disappoint. We had two different dips, the calamari , 2 drinks and the branzino. The food here is always good everything is so yummy but what excelled this time around was the service . Our server ( can't remember his name but had face tattoos ) he checked in on us, made sure we were ok but wasn't over bearing , he was so great and friendly . The ambience was nice we went at 6pm on a Friday and it def was very busy so def get a reservation but the lighting and view is very nice . If you're in Phoenix around the Global Ambassador hotel, you absolutely have to come to this restaurant. The views are amazing. The food is amazing. The servers are kind and very attentive, friendly and amendable to your needs. While this is Phoenix, it can get very hot if you sit on the outdoor patio, they have misters to keep you cool. Made a reservation for Friday for 3 people the Sunday prior. The only available times were either 4:15pm or 8:30pm. We went with 4:15pm. It was not super busy when we arrived. We were seated outside and they had misters on full blast to help mitigate the heat. The views at Thea are spectacular. From one side you can see downtown Phoenix, and from the other you can see Camelback Mountain. Our server took our drink order quickly, but it took a significant amount of time for our drinks to actually arrive. I ordered the Peach Bisous, which is a mocktail. I have had it before here, and it is a favorite of mine. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable about the food menu, which was great. We ordered the Baba Ghanoush as a shared plate to start. It took about 15 minutes to arrive. After we finished the pita bread it came with, we asked our server for more. This second portion did not arrive until after we finished our entrees. As my entree, I ordered the Crispy Falafel and Sumac Yams. This took about 20 minutes to arrive. Overall, the Falafel was good. It came with a spicy dollop on top which I asked my server to put on the side (that did not happen despite me being incredibly clear I did not want anything spicy on the dish). The Yams were delicious. It took me by surprise how good they were. One annoying thing was how often we had servers and busboys trying to take our plates before we had finished everything. It happened multiple times throughout the course of our meal and made us feel like we were being rushed. Overall, service was decent. The speed of service was below average, which was ironic given the fact that we felt they were trying to rush us. The food was above average, and the views are spectacular. read more

Last minute decision to go to Global Ambassador and so glad we did! I had only been once before during a calm weekday happy hour so this was a completely different vibe. This time it was packed with security at the door and a full reservation line. We didn't have a reservation but were able to grab a high top by the indoor bar. Layla was our waitress and she was fantastic and very attentive even with how busy it was. We were there from about 9 to 1130 and it definitely felt like the place to be. The food and service were both great despite how crowded it was. Highly recommend the spicy tuna roll, beef dumplings, and chicken kebab. The rice with the kebab was especially flavorful. Visiting the area, I wanted to check out Théa. Highly suggest! Located on the 6th floor of the Global Ambassador hotel. Went at noon, right when they opened. Still had to wait like 10 mins. Chasing sunsets at Thea! We had a lovely time at Thea. The Global Ambassador Hotel is definitely a hot spot in the Biltmore area. Make sure you book reservations prior to secure a table. They will validate parking if you park at The Bergen across the street. However, that garage is packed, so we ended up paying $10 to valet. You can pay the valet with card or Venmo, which is extremely convenient. The views from the rooftop are absolutely stunning. You have a panoramic view of Camelback Mountain and other mountains around the valley. If you sit on the patio, expect heavy traffic. There will be hotel guest walking back and forth from the rooftop hotel bar. So the drinks & food are pricey, but the food was DELICIOUS! I was impressed with the turkish meatballs & shrimp scorpio. Everything was packed with flavor. We also enjoyed the calamari & brussel sprouts. The atmosphere was gorgeous, and I would recommend checking out Thea at least once while you're in Arizona! read more

I wish I could give Théa unlimited stars I came to the global ambassador as multiple friends from my hometown recommended it as they stated it had GORGEOUS sunset views and views of Camelback mountain. They weren't wrong! I witnessed a colorful, majestic and unforgettable sunset around 18:30 on a Monday evening. My waiter Gavin was FABULOUS!!!!! We tried a lot of different dishes- muhammara, spicy tuna and crispy rice (very good), yellowtail and avocado (excellent!), Mediterranean olives, crispy falafel for appetizers. For dinner- open face lamb pita (which is basically a gyro sandwich but smaller x 2 pieces), roasted branzino (in a Mediterranean style sauce- sooo good). However, the mixed grill was really disappointing. The price is high and definitely not worth the money, you get a few small pieces of meet and some pita. I can't believe we paid $85 for that. The food was beautiful and delicious, but servings were a bit on the smaller side, while prices were on the higher side. My salad was fresh and crisp and the salmon was perfectly seared and moist. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Théa! We had an assortment of yummy drinks and small plates. We loved the hummus and tzatziki served with pita. My boyfriend made reservations for us to celebrate our anniversary, and after our first time dining here, we definitely want to come back. He specifically reserved 5:15pm on the outside patio so we could see the mountains (and how the sunset changes the color of the mountains), and the view just made me want to dine here (even more) every single day. The restaurant itself is beautiful, both inside and out, and I love the decor and colors. We did everything tapas style since the menu sounded so enticing. Firstly, the "Sunseeker" and "Summertime Love" cocktails were both refreshing and on the lighter side, which was perfect. To eat, we ordered: fried calamari, manti dumplings*, Greek street fries, and shrimp scampi. All of it was flavorful, and I have no complaints, but I put an asterisk next to the manti dumplings because those were our favorite! Spiced beef, Greek yogurt, crispy garlic and chili!? Don't tell me that's not the perfect combo. The blend of flavors to balance one another was *chef's kiss*. And we probably ordered the kofta (skewers served with rice) about 30 minutes after everything else because though I was full, my boyfriend wanted to try it. So good! We love our Mediterranean food. We came here for brunch to celebrate our friend's birthday, and honestly, it was such a good pick! The restaurant's on the 6th floor of The Global Ambassador Hotel. Parking looked kind of tricky, so we just went with valet. Our server was super friendly and helpful, which made everything easy. We started off with a few mocktails, Dolce Vita, Peach Bisous, Café Paradiso, and some coffee. All of them were really good, and that coffee was strong and so tasty. Then came the Goddess of All Dips, six dips, six flavors, all amazing. We also got the Greek Street Fries and Zucchini Chips. Both were yummy, but the zucchini chips were a little too greasy for me. For mains, we shared the Turkish Meatballs, Pressed Yellowtail & Avocado, Chicken Souvlaki Skewers, Truffle Filet Skewers, and a Margherita Flatbread. Everything was delicious, though the truffle skewers didn't really have that strong truffle smell. And of course, dessert was the perfect ending, we had the complimentary birthday cake plus the flourless chocolate cake. Both were sooo good! The view from up there was also really nice, facing the mountain, I can only imagine how beautiful the sunset must be. When you walk inside, the staff greets you and guide you to the correct elevator where you need to go. (I was super depressed) Regardless, we were seating to where we could still see outside to the mountains and a bit of the sunset. The decor was simple, elegant, and beautiful! The service was top notch, and the food, divine! Everything was delicious, the whipped ricotta with honey and wild oregano is so delicious! We also ordered the Turkish meatballs, which had such a beautiful flavor profile, very earthy and moist. The Mediterranean olives were brought out very warm in a bath of olive oil, they even brought us a small dish to put the pits. The potstickers . . . I wish they sold them in stores, they were fabulous! And were also got the crispy potatoes, which I know, I know, how good can potatoes be? Amazing! There's are absolutely amazing! And I ordered an old fashion, and honestly for $21 it's worth it, I was very tipsy and it took me over 45 minutes to finish. My husband got the roasted branzino, nice light flakey fish, seasoned perfectly. I went with the chicken and I was very pleased with it but felt like the rice was a bit dry. And for dessert, we wanted to choose something off the menu but before we got the chance our waiter brought us a complimentary "Happy Anniversary" dessert which was a kind gesture but not what we would've selected. It was a light lemon dessert. All in all, next time I'm in Arizona I'm making another reservation here. The meal, the view, the service all amazing! I was in Scottsdale for the weekend with family and we decided to check it out. Wow! We were not disappointed! You can make reservations, but we walked in on Sunday evening. There was a thirty minute wait. While waiting we ordered drinks at the bar. They have an excellent selection of wine, cocktails and beer. While waiting we walked around the beautiful patio with spectacular views. There was a drone show happening in the distance! This was also a great spot for some group pictures. Our table was ready shortly after getting drinks and taking some pics. We were a group of six and seated in a private dining area. The service from staff was impeccable! Everyone we interacted with was friendly and accommodating. This made for such a nice experience! Our server, Shane, was amazing! He was attentive and gave us the best recommendations. We started with sharing some of the small plates. All were delicious, flavorful and perfect! My favorites were the Turkish meatballs and falafel. Shane suggested sharing an entree between two. He recommended the blistered half chicken and the yams and WOW!! The chicken was tender, juicy and had a citrusy and light mint flavor. The yams with the whipped labneh were the perfect pairing to the chicken. We enjoyed every bite of our food and cleaned our plates! Sharing was the best suggestion! We unfortunately were too full for dessert, but the dessert menu sounded delicious. I thought this might be stuffy and overrated because of the location and hype, but wowww was I wrong. From the start to the finish, this was a 10/10 experience all around. The design of the restaurant showcases the views, of course, but no thought was spared on the acoustics and overall experience. For reference, we ate at a similar Mediterranean place the day before, and the experience from there to here was like night and day. While the tables are close together in both restaurants, at Théa, Here, I could easily hear my dinner companion. It felt private, even though we were surrounded by people and the restaurant was packed. The music was not too loud and only added to the overall vibe. Now, onto the service. Our server, Rose, was fantastic! He was there when we needed him, not overbearing, provided honest food and drink recommendations, and was friendly, kind, and had great style! The food, oh my goodness, the food. I can't wait to come back. Everything was perfectly cooked with so much flavor! The chef here must be passionate because it certainly comes through in each dish. I think my favorite example of this is the Greek salad. A very simple item, hard to make memorable. And yet, I am now dreaming of this salad daily. The dressing, the ratio of vegetables to cheese, the saltiness balanced by the fresh flavors of the vegetables and the different spices - immaculate. Shrimp scampi - same thing. Easy dish, hard to make standout. Yet here, it was to die for. I would like to bottle the sauce and drink it, that's how good it was. I ate here until I could eat no more. I absolutely loved Thea! We were celebrating both myself and my friend's birthdays, so they gave us two free deserts! They were super cute mini ice cream cakes that were so delicious. We ended up switching from the bar to a table as our reserved seats on the rooftop were closed due to rain, but all the service workers were very kind about the situation. They are also very vegetarian friendly. My friends and I ordered a bunch of the sharable, and everything was delicious. The highlight was definitely the sweet feta dip though. They also give you extra pita once you run out. The falafel were a bit more spicy than expected, so watch out for that. Great drinks, delicious food, and superb service! Need I say more?! This is a great place to bring friends and loved ones for some great Mediterranean food with a view. The restaurant is located inside the Global Ambassador hotel. Go past the lobby and boutique and take the elevators on the right to the 6th floor. Limited parking is available but we opted for the valet service ($10). It was packed on a Saturday at 5ish. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Our server, Emma, was fantastic. She curated our meal to what was needed and it couldn't have been better. Drinks: Summertime love - 10/10 this was fruity and refreshing. It was on the sweeter side but I absolutely loved this! Decadent spicy margarita - this was husband's drink. He loved it! It has a decent amount of heat. Food: Tuna Crudo - 10/10! The quality of the fish was great. Our server recommended pita bread to dip in the Crudo sauce and it was a game changer. Would highly recommend this! Crispy Greek potatoes - 8/10, the potato wedges were cooked well and the tzatziki sauce was great. Manti dumplings - 8/10, slightly saltier than we personally liked but it was still very good. Branzino - 10/10! This was my favorite. The fish was cooked perfectly and the flavors were absolutely delicious. Totally reminded me of the one I had in Greece. Portions are good enough to share between 2 ppl. I highly recommended making a reservation at this place. I will definitely return. read more
