I've been here twice and both visits did not disappoint. The hummus is so delicious and flavorful. The bread tastes super fresh and is so fluffy. I've had the burger both times because it just hits the spot! My friends said the seafood options were really good and better than expected. Their wines are decently priced and good flavors. Also the espresso martini is incredible. Both visits the servers were very friendly and helpful!

Absolutely loved dining here! All the food we got were delicious and I cannot wait to go back to try out other items! The hummusiya is a must get!! It seems like they change this daily and we had five options to choose from. We ended up with the marinated artichoke hummus, baba ganoush, and pistachio labneh. All three were SO GOOD and it came with pita bread. My favorites were lobster salad, chicken schnitzel, linguine and clams, filet mignon skewers! The lobster salad had big chucks of lobster and the dressing was light and made the overall dish very refreshing! Chicken schnitzel was crispy and tender. Only problem was we wanted more of it. The linguine and clam dish was very delicious! The noodles were al dente and the clams were good sizes. Or were. Filet mignon came with rice, greens, and tomatoes. If too rare, they are able to heat it back up to your comfort level. Only thing I was disappointed in were the oysters. We got 6 oysters and all of them had sand in it. When we asked the server they said the oyster types we got are like that.... I love oysters, but having the two types we picked didn't convince me to want more. Parking was easy to find. There's a parking garage right by the restaurant. Highly recommend coming here!!

Amazing meal accompanied by top service. We were there 3ish hours and were never rushed out. Although it's blistering hot and 100+ degrees, the indoor/outdoor area is surprisingly chilly. They blast the misters and fans, but they do it in a way where it's not dropping water all over. The space is beautiful. The food: there's hardly a complaint other than its high price, which is within Old Town Scottsdale standards. The order: baba ghanoush, pistachio labneh, marinated, artichoke hummus, lobster salad, papas bravado, chicken schnitzel, saffron risotto, linguine and clams, fillet of turbot, filet mignon skewers, and some oysters The filet mignon skewers along with the dip options were my favorite. The oysters are skippable as they still had pieces of shell on them.

My newest favorite restaurant is Pinyon! We came here this past weekend and we were so pleasantly impressed with all the food, service and ambiance of this place. The apps are all delicious in my opinion. The theme is Mediterranean food and appeals to the healthier side but this does not mean the flavor is compromised. My recommendation is try the pistachio lebneh which is a nice refreshing dip to share. The tuna tartare is light and delicious. I ordered the filet skewer and loved it but I tried my friend's dish which was the turbot with slaw and I would get this next time. There is no bad dish in my opinion. We finished off with the baklava cheesecake and felt this was very unique and definitely shareable.

Spiced kafta with eggs, and a side of rice

Wow...there are many items on the menu that I would like to try! This is unusual for me but I am looking forward to come back to try different dishes. We walked in and were able to walk straight to sit at the bar. The seafood, oysters and scallops, are so fresh. I could not resist the Sunday brunch menu because it had beef kafta with eggs. I ordered a side of rice to enjoy with kafta and eggs. They went really well together since the kafta and its sauce were a bit salty. I was full but they have the best chocolate cake! I need the whole pound of the cake, not just a slice.

I've been wanting to try out Pinyon since it is part of the BnR family tree and it did not disappoint! My friend and I came here during Sunday brunch time, ordered a couple of cocktails (can't remember the name but it was blanco + grapefruit with a greek liquer) and some great bites. We started with the artichoke hummus which was really delicious. Great consistency, flavor and you get a good amount to share. We also ordered the yellowtail crudo which had a tremendous amount of flavor. It came with a pistachio drizzle and golden berries, plus fresh greens. For entrees we got the beef kafta with eggs. The beef was delicious and I even really enjoyed the salad it came with. It was dressed in a nice, acidic vinaigrette that cut the fatty taste of beef.

We absolutely loved our experience at Pinyon! This is a great spot for dinner with friends or date night, with an upscale Mediterranean feel. They have great indoor and outdoor seating (with misters for when it's hot hot hot out). Our table shared a couple of small plates and got some entrees, so with such a variety of food, I got a great feel for the quality of this restaurant. To start we tried the hummus with steak and hummus with roasted artichokes that came with fresh pita bread - the one with the filet and roasted garlic was my favorite. We also got a shrimp dish that was super garlicky and delicious. My friend and I also thought we couldn't leave without some oysters so we each enjoyed a Pacific and an Atlantic. I was so full after appetizers that for my main I had the tune tartare. This was super unique than any tune tartare I've had before, as it had peppers and some other things mixed inside. Our waitress was great and drinks were good! I would definitely come back.

Love this place and it's been only 2 times that I've gone! First time went through a reservation. This is definitely a must if you're planning to go on a weekend for dinner! Second time was on a whim on a Friday night. Of course. The wait was around an hour. You can order drinks while waiting, which almost everyone did since it was so hot outside! But there's patio seating as well as upstairs In addition to the main dining and bar. It's a nice set up. I requested a mocktail and received a really refreshing mocktail. Not sure what it was but I think it had some cucumber flavor. If you love Buck and Rider, you'll love this place too. I really enjoyed all of what I ate! Got my oysters to start. Always so fresh! And then got some lamb shakshuka: really flavorful and tender lamb meatballs. Got an ounce of Iberico ham that came with crunchy crostini and refreshing tomato. Loved the amount of crostinis but the ounce of ham was super slim - they're basically thinly shaved slices. Wish it was more. Nonetheless still tasty if you appreciate the real deal. Also tried the turbot fish - great piece of soft white fish, yummy! Gambas (shrimp) were delicious with the garlic profile. The Loup de Mer was my fave fish- another soft white fish. They cook it perfectly! They have kids menu available. Got the cheeseburger with potato wedges. A little well done for me with a burnt piece. Dessert: get the tiramisu to share! I loved it the first time that I had to get it again! Can't wait to go back! We loved our server which coincidentally got her the second time around.

Love Pinyon! I'm from LA and came here twice within a month because I could not stop thinking about their pistachio hummus dip. I believe some menu items change based on the season, but just double check with your server! Everything was amazing, from drinks to food to service. I recommend coming during happy hour (3PM-7PM) because the price for drinks, oysters, and hummus can't be beat. Also, this is the sister restaurant to Buck and Rider so you know it's quality seafood.

My girlfriend and I decided to try this spot out during Restaurant Week as we both had been wanting to try it since it first opened. First off, let me say that our serve, Becca, was super attentive to our every need, friendly and even gave us a great suggestion for an after dinner spot which turned out to be a great vibe.9 I ordered the shrimp Louie for my appetizer, the chicken skewers for my main entree and the vanilla ice cream that came with a delicious small cookie! My friend ordered the Greek salad with chicken and loved it. We also ordered a side of pita bread with a spicy olive dip. That dip was delicious. I enjoyed a glass of sangria and a glass of sparkling rose! The food tastes as amazing it looks on the dish. Everything was a flavor bomb in my mouth and absolutely delicious! I am so glad we had a chance to try this restaurant out and cannot wait to got back.

Pinyon has great cocktails and bites! A bit on the pricier side, but their upstairs overlooks the park and is such a cute daytime lunch spot. The beef carpaccio and my Bloody Mary was great. I've also seen they have a great HH menu, however it is limited to the bar.

A friend and I stopped by Pinyon for their incredible happy hour. They are a sister restaurant to Buck & Rider which was our main reason for visiting. We sat at the bar upstairs which had a great open atmosphere to enjoy the weather. The food was great. We had the hummus, carpaccio and fried feta. It was hard to pick a favorite because I loved them all equally and the portions were very generous for a happy hour. The only 1 star I have to dock is for the service. It wasn't the friendliest and we were never asked if we wanted another round of drinks. I still would return just for the food alone.

Great first impression at Pinyon! My boyfriend and I were in the area without dinner plans. Obviously we found ourselves on Yelp and saw positive reviews for Pinyon. So we decided to check them out. We went on a Thursday evening around 6pm and they were extremely busy. Definitely recommend a reservation for this one. We had about a 20 minute wait for first available seating - which was at the upstairs bar. The restaurant itself is super open and connected to the outdoors. The ground level has a large patio. The upstairs is completely open as well thanks to its sliding floor-to-ceiling doors. On a warm spring evening this resulted in immaculate vibes. Not sure what they do during the summer however - I imagine it would be too hot to have everything open. We took advantage of their Happy Hour kitchen specials, starting with the Chicken Schnitzel, Salmon Carpaccio, and Raw Bar Scallops. For entrees we got the Saffron Risotto and the Pan Roasted Chicken. Lastly, for dessert we shared the Baklava Cheesecake. All the food was excellent. It's very hard to choose a favorite bite, but if I had to pick - the Risotto and the Baklava Cheesecake would be my winners. Our server was friendly and explained the menu well. Really solid experience all around - would definitely return!

The restaurant is trendy, stylish, and undeniably cute. I especially got a kick out of the little lamps on the tables that turn red when you want a tableside martini. We aren't drinkers, but I thought it was a fun and clever touch. One thing that surprised me right away was that bread wasn't included. Instead, we were served some crunchy snacks to munch on. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I'd much rather have warm bread. It feels simpler, tastier, and more welcoming. For appetizers, we ordered the burrata and calamari. Both were tasty, but the peppers in the calamari packed a serious punch. I wish there had been a little warning about the spice level because it definitely caught me off guard. Then again, I suppose anything called "Sexy Roman" has to bring a little heat. For dinner, we shared the chicken parm and the lobster pasta. The chicken parm was decent, though I found the chicken a bit tough. The lobster pasta was flavorful and well prepared, but once again, quite spicy. At least that time we knew what we were getting into. Service was fine, but not exceptional. I was inhaling water to cool down from all the spice and had to ask for refills multiple times, which felt like an easy thing to stay ahead of. In the end, there wasn't anything terrible about the experience. The food was good, the atmosphere was fun, and the concept is unique. But between the high prices, smaller portions, and service that didn't quite match the upscale vibe, I don't think we'll be rushing back.

We sat outside in the evening shade for a nice gathering. The salad was crisp, well dressed and delicious with the fried / curled plantain chips. The shrimp cerviche with fried plantains, blue corn tortilla chips, lime, cilantro and cucumber pico de gallo was ok but not remarkable. Our final selection was the Gaucho spiced skirt steak with chimichurri, and masa potato cakes. The steak was overcooked, not medium rare, bland taste and tough. The potato cake was tasteless. Overall, the ambience and service was good, however, the food lacks any hint of Cuban flare except for the fried plantains. When I think of Cuban food, I salivate for the unique taste profiles with a hint of sweetness from the fruits. At The canal Club, I found it non-existing. The name, setting, and environment is good but the kitchen needs to let in on the theme being Cuban.
