Wow and WOW! What an experience! Yes, you are going to spend ALOT of money here but the food was so amazing as well as the service... and do not get me started on the decor! This is an experience you will not forget or regret! I treated my daughter's bachelorette group here and we all could not rave enough about our food! From the chips and salsa...to the guacamole....to the taco flights we all were incredibly happy. The sea bass tacos were everyone's favorite taco. I ordered the short rib enchiladas and could not believe how happy my taste buds were. The meat was so flavorful with the chilis I could not get enough. Sooo amazing! Yes...be prepared for sticker shock but everyone in our party of 7 was incredibly happy.

Guys, this place is for the vibes and experience, not life changing food. We went for a bachelorette party and it was perfect for the experience! The music was bumpin' (I think there was a DJ) and a fire dancer? The ambiance was immaculate and perfect for a bachelorette dinner. Moody lighting, chic interior decor, service was wonderful. The food was good, but nothing to write home about and obviously very expensive. This is getting high marks from me for the sheer reason that the vibes of the place were so fun and entertaining and the service was really good.

I've been to Toca Madera multiple times, and I personally don't usually feel that the food is worth the price. This visit was for brunch, which starts with cornbread and butter when you're seated. I didn't love it, as it had whole corn kernels baked into it. I know some people enjoy that style, but it wasn't my preference. I ordered the sashimi next, which was one of the best dishes of the meal and truly melted in my mouth. I also tried the wagyu wonton tacos. I didn't find them particularly special, though my friend enjoyed them a lot. The Mexican chop salad with salmon was one of the best salads I've had by far, but the salmon itself was a bit dry. Lastly, I ordered the street tacos. The carne asada was very good, while the sea bass was just okay. Service was excellent. Our server frequently checked on us, helped explain menu items, and the bussers were constantly refilling our water. The ambiance is fun and lively, with lots of windows and natural light. However, the music is always very loud, which is usually why I don't go often. It can be hard to hear conversations. Overall, the food is decent, but I don't always think it's worth the price

Toca Madera is unlike any restaurant I've been to -- fire performances, a live DJ, stunning ambiance. It genuinely feels like a Las Vegas Strip experience right in Scottsdale. The A5 Wagyu tacos ($37 for two) absolutely lived up to the hype -- smoky, perfectly layered, and worth every penny. The 18 oz ribeye was incredible and the Mexican street corn is a must-order side. Skip the branzino and just go for the steak! A few things fell short though -- we called multiple times about the fire show schedule and kept going to voicemail, water refills were nonexistent all night, and our leftovers came out in a plain box with no bag. Small details, but noticeable at this price point. Pro tip: book ahead, dress code IS enforced, and catch the fire show starting at 7 PM! Overall a great experience and we'll definitely be back.

I've been to Toca Madera a couple times and always had a great experience. The decor is beautiful and the service is attentive. Drinks are good and strong. Love the food--the seafood tower, Toca Caesar and Wagyu options are some of my faves. Prices are high, so I usually only come for special occasions, but I'm always happy to visit.

This was a great experience. I highly recommend you visiting. The ambiance was vibrant and alive. I was on a solo date and I felt welcomed by all of the staff! The food was simply amazing! The hamachi was the best I've ever had! The branzino was fresh and delicious! The salsa that they give you complimentary was sooooo good! Overall, I loved it! And I was told they are bring this restaurant to Miami. I can't wait!!!!!!!

    Enchiladas. So tasty.

The food was fantastic. We had enchiladas, salmon and chicken and they were excellent. The portions were large. The wines were great, too. The service was great. The waiter was informative and attentive. The ambiance appeals to younger people and being older, it didn't appeal to us. Not the fault of the restaurant; it pitches to the young, hip crowd. We didn't realize that. For us, it was like eating in a disco and at our age, it didn't resonate at all. Too loud. I recommend Toca Madura for adults under 50 but not for anyone older.

This place is not just dinner, it's an experience. We came here for my last nights bachelorette dinner. We did have to wait a bit for a table even with a reservation but this wasn't a concern for our group. When we were seated, they gave us complimentary flaming shots. We got guac for the table which was delicious. I split the ceviche and the branzino with one of the girls along with a side of the street corn. All of it was incredible. I tasted a few different drinks as well, some suggested by the waiter. I'm a huge fan of mezcal so he suggested the Guilty Pleasure which was my favorite of the drinks I had. They even had a fire dancer during our dinner for a little show. Overall we had a great time!

Opulent. For a random taco Tuesday, this place was top notch. Went at request of a friend's bday dinner. Was pleasantly surprised by the extensive staff, fascinating interior design and all night HH for taco Tuesday. They were able to make me a delicious (and not sweet) watermelon margarita mocktail. Had the calamari and a taco trio. The food was good! Maybe not as elevated for the price. But still very delicious. It's more for the experience than the food. Busy and very loud so not a place for intimate conversations. But overall surrounded by opulence.

Such a pretty place! Modern twist on Mexican. Our server was not only super beautiful and friendly but very helpful with menu items. The music was a bit loud but the atmosphere is such a good vibe. Does seem like it gets super busy so a reservation is a good idea.

We choose this upscale, modern Mexican restaurant for a friends birthday during a trip to Scottsdale. We made reservations and were seated after a reasonable, brief wait. I would recommend reservations if you want to go, on the Friday night they were turning people away or offering a very long wait. It is a bit difficult to review. The ambiance is fantastic, the restaurant is low lite, and beautifully decorated. They also had a fire performance. The margaritas are great, and they offer many variations, we each tried a different one. The food is great, but we did not find it great enough to justify the price point. The service was also not great. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, it was towards the end that it was an issue. While I understand they are busy, this is a nice restaurant, we should not have to wait a noticeable amount of time to get the check or pay. I would go based on the ambience, but be prepared to pay and a possible wait.

I went to Toca to celebrate my friend's bachelorette. It was a great celebration restaurant. We are still thinking about the Caesar salad. It was spicy and unique. My first absolutely loved the sea bass tacos and I really enjoyed the guitar/fire show. They also provided complimentary dessert for our celebration which was a nice touch as well.

Such a fun spot for a group! The food and service were great and tons of fun extras like a fire dancer, table side steak/bone marrow and flaming drinks/shots. Many times places like this rely on the entertainment and the food is just ok, but everything we had was delicious. Some of my favorites were: -hamachi -flaming tomahawk -guacamole -truffle manchego fries -brownie sundae -no mames

It appears that reservations on OpenTable on blocked off between 6-9PM on Sundays. What is the reason? How could I get a 7PM reservation?

Please visit https://tocamadera.com/reservations to make a dining reservation with us. We look forward to hosting you soon.

What days/ times do they have the fire show?

Our restaurant offers live music and entertainment daily during brunch and dinner services.

Is there a DJ during Sunday brunch?

The Sunday we went there was a DJ if I recall.

Are they still open? Website is down. No answer at the phone.

Toca Madera is very much open and the website is working! https://tocamadera.com/

What time is the latest fire show performance?

Do you accept walk ups, and how long is normally the wait?

Hi Rich, Yes, we do accept walk-ins, however we cannot guarantee a wait time frame as the restaurant is popular and does get very busy!

I have two friends visiting from out of town and they don't arrive in phoenix until 10pm, so I made a reservation for 11:15pm. Do they still serve their full menu this late or is their kitchen limited?

I believe they serve full menu until midnight

What's the noise/sound level like? Able to have a conversation?

When the guitar music is being played and when the fire show is happening, it's fairly loud. But otherwise, you can have a conversation at a table for 2 or 4 people, no problem.

Do you guys have air conditioning ? I keep seeing reviews saying there isn't a working AC

    There was air conditioning

The website says no shorts. Is that enforced when it's 100+ outside?

I would call them. However it is an upscale place so can understand their policy. I wore long pants… Read more

    Can men wear jeans?

Yes men can wear jeans. I've worn jeans every time I've gone there.

What is the difference in "lounge" and "dining" for reservations? There will be a party of 4.

Lounge is the bar area and the other is the dining room. I prefer the lounge since it is a bit louder with more vibe. Choose the dining room if you want a bit more privacy/quiet. Not all seats in the lounge are at the bar top, simply tables around… Read more

    What time is happy hour?

HI, Our Happy Hour is from 4pm to 6pm from Monday to Friday and on Saturday and Sunday from 3:30… Read more

    What time the kitchen closes?

You may want to contact the establishment and ask them.

Can I bring my kids to eat here?

Yes, but everything is fancy. No kids menu. So if you don't mind spending $15 for two creative tacos for the kiddos personally better to enjoy it yourself with your spouse or partner.

How much would I spend for 2 people?

    I spent 140$ total

Do they have live entertainment on Monday nights? If so, is the lounge or dining room better?

Never been here before but heard good things. Was thinking of taking my elderly parents here for lunch, but read that music is pretty loud and the vibe is more of a club. Would this be an appropriate place to take them?

I don't think elderly people would like it here, it's very loud and you might struggle with conversation

What time does the music start? Would be coming for my 60th bday dinner on a Wed night. Should I not bring a 12-yr old?

Meh I would probably leave the child at home.

When we arrived, it was a bit confusing, as there wasn't really any signage or staff who were willing to assist in directing us to the the place - the hostess at the elements restaurant was snippy and was just rude for no reason! The setup at jade bar was fine; sitting by the windows is your best bet to get a nicer view; however, there was a wedding that was taking place outside, so we couldn't access to have the option to do an al fresco experience. There was no hostess, and the waitstaff seemed to be limited; we didn't know this was just a 'walk-in and grab a seat at any table' type of a setup - We ordered: +the Truffle Tots - did not expect what this dish was; the romesco sauce was just not good +a California maki roll - the imitation crab meat had an off taste to them, and it wasn't tightly rolled so everything fell apart +and, the Chicken Wings - this was covered in some type of a sticky/hoisin type of a sauce; the chicken was NOT cooked through, and we thought we were going to get sick We ordered the Blueberry Dreams (prepared with buffalo trace bourbon, lillet rouge, blueberry lemon, honey, and ginger) and the Spicy Margarita (prepared with deleon blanco tequila, cucumber, jalapeno, and lime) - both were made very strong and were aesthetically pleasing. The seating area and the chairs could have been wiped down and cleaned better; we noticed stains on the furniture. We weren't checked-in often throughout our experience; we would have liked refills, ordered additional drinks, etc., but it wasn't hapepning. The hotel provides 10$ valet service which I was blown away by the cost because many other fancy locations charge a lot more in my area. We dropped off our vehicle then walked towards the beautiful door with the name of the restaurant illuminated. As we entered we were greeted by a beautiful wine display and a beautiful host check-in area. The place had lots of neon lights that complemented the stone and wood. We approached the bar and sat on some very comfortable barstools. The bathrooms were incredibly clean and had a very modern look. Everything was beautiful! We had the pleasure of meeting Caleb who was new to the restaurant and he gave us a rundown of the menu. He recommended a few items and was very patient with us because brunch is a ritual and can take a while to decide especially when everything looked so amazing on the menu. We finally decided on Eggs Benedict and as we were looking for other options Anthony who was extremely knowledgeable, judging by how well he knew the menu and talked about the items, was a veteran and very skilled. He went over the menu in detail and helped us narrow down our options and we chose the frittata. The eggs Benedict was a work of art and the flavors were beautiful. The eggs were perfectly poached and the sauce was better than any sauce I have had in a while. It was rich and creamy and had the perfect texture. The ciabatta that everything was on was perfectly toasted and had that beautiful char flavor. The spinach was fresh and green and still had a crunch to it. The frittata was perfectly made and was fluffy and had fresh arugula on top. It was very soft and not dry and had a perfect shape. The chef blended the flavors perfectly allowing you to taste every ingredient in it. No ingredient overpowered the other and everything was in perfect harmony to excite the taste buds. Anthony and Caleb came back to check on us and we tried their refreshing spritz that was highly recommended. While sipping on our spritz we spoke to Anthony and he gave us some fabulous ideas about where to go and things to do and we decided to go to the civic center and old town area that he recommended and it was amazing. We then asked Anthony and Caleb for a menu. We were full but the food was so good we wanted to try more and they recommended the calamari. The calamari practically made me cry. It was not oily like you get it at most restaurants and the breading was perfect it was light and fluffy and appeared to be floating like clouds on each other. It was not chewy but perfectly tender with the right amount of zesty that brought back memories of being in Sicily. We ordered some prosecco and enjoyed it as Caleb gave us some recommendations on other restaurants we should try while we were in town, which we added to our list. Calobe and Anthony were very helpful and a prime example of what makes a business prosper. Taking care of the people is not only serving food and making drinks. It is about connecting with them even beyond what the restaurant has to offer. We were so sad we were not able to go back for dinner but because of the amazing staff, we will be coming back to sexy roman again. Thank you, Chef, for your amazing food, and thank you Anthony and Caleb for your level of professionalism and the fantastic customer service!
