Greektown is a restaurant which has been around for years. I don't know why it took me so long to get there, but I'm glad I finally did! The facility is an older building, but has had some recent upgrades made to it. The interior has classic restaurant decor complete with white tablecloths and candles. Greek decor is abundant. Service was fast and friendly. This is a family restaurant and my server was a third generation member of that family. He was very friendly! I ordered the moussaka platter which came with rice and veggies. All meals come with pita, bread, soup and Greek salad. All were delicious, so much so that I can't tell you which dish I liked the best. I regret not getting to Greektown sooner. My most recent visit won't be the last! read more

The owner George and his family have been in the restaurant business for decades and they truly have a passion for sharing authentic Greek dishes and cocktails. One of his sons served me and my wife. Absolutely amazing place! You MUST get the calamari because it's so unique and different. It's got an amazing lemon sauce and it's not super fried. The horiatiki salad is delicious as per usual and you'll want to get extra of the garlic bread they give for the table. The star is the baklava cheesecake though. The food is absolutely amazing, and the service is some of the most genuine, authentic, and down to earth, friendly, fun and honest staff that I have ever experienced. They all take care and have appreciation for their customers as well as the food they serve. Family owned would be an understatement. I got the calamari which I've never had. It served like this and I can't wait to come back just for this alone! The lemon rice soup came with the meal and it's so good! Ask them about splitting entrées to have a half-and-half and they will totally take care of you! I will be back. The service was absolutely amazing with greetings from the owner and attended by the Chef himself. Amazing ambience all round transporting one straight over to the Greek islands. 12/19/25: Still an excellent dining experience. We hadn't been here since they renovated a year or so ago. All but the Mom came by our table and we never wanted for anything; they were all on top of their game. Food, service, ambiance, Greektown has it all. Appetizers: feta & olives plus saganaki. Awesome. Meal: capama & chops. Double awesome! The chops were perfectly seasoned and the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender. Dessert: baklava cheesecake. Omg! You should definitely know what you're walking into before you come casually strolling into this place. You are going to be greeted with the most gregarious hello ever. It's Greek style here. George and his brother have big flamboyant hearts. They care about their menu,; they care about their service; they care about the ambience; and they care about your happiness. They go way over the top to make sure your evening is extra special. This was such a special night. George came out of the kitchen and made a very special announcement, that Charlie was having his 104th birthday at Greektown. Everyone broke into song! It was one of the most adorable things I've ever seen... It wasn't even my birthday, yet it was so memorable. I will never forget this evening. The whole room was overflowing with LOVE as George talked about how remarkable Charlie is! I heard plates smashing in the kitchen as we saying happy birthday and OPAAAA! The food was absolutely delicious and I ate every single thing on my plate. It's authentic Greek food so you won't find fava or hummus on the menu. The wine was fantastic too. I had Greek wine, of course. My friends have been coming here for years... They know George personally now. However, I feel like it doesn't matter much, because George will be your friend by the end of the night. I would dress up a little bit if you're eating in the nice dining room. I like that they have white table cloths and they care about the little things. The place is very clean... The outside of the building is so sparse and even baron like. It looks like a gray brick storage house.... but then you walk in and BOOM- you've been transported to another world... specifically, GREEKTOWN! I will be back, as I think this might be the best place to celebrate a special occasion with people you love. I will say, you can wear a T-shirt and shorts, and easily sit at the bar... I saw a lot of people at the bar enjoying themselves. They have a TV on and it's quite casual. If I didn't have a special occasion to celebrate, I would love to do that as well. The Moussaka and Pesteetio are always great, along with their seafood selections. All entrees come with lemon Greek soup and salad. They Do Not take reservations, so come early or late to avoid a long wait time. If you go late, be prepared that sometime they run out of selections. All food is prepared daily,so some items go fast, especially daily specials. They offer a good wine selection, including California and Greek wines. I have been wanting to try Greektown for quite a while as I'd heard great things about it, but they're closed on Sunday which is our usual "date night" due to work schedules. This family owned and run restaurant is exactly what dining should be! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated soon thereafter, near the Santorini picture, which made .t husband comment about how happy that would make me. I didn't catch his name, but it was one of George's sons taking care of us, asked if we'd ever been to Greece and I told him no but it's on my bucket list. He then offered me a copy of the travel tips sheet that his Dad had written out. As he was getting that for me, George came over and greeted us and said he had several drinks he could make for us or wine, but when I said we don't really drink, he immediately mentioned the apple lemonade tea that he made, which sounded great - and it was! He didn't try to push any alcohol on us at all, which I appreciate. George then mentioned the calamari which I said we were definitely getting as I'd read about it and it looked great. And with an Italian husband, you know we've had a lot of calamari. This was so good. Different then Italian with the lemony sauce, and not at all greasy from the frying, and could be my new favorite. All of the entrees come with soup and salad. The soup is a lemon rice soup, traditional Greek, and was excellent. The salad came out with the entrees and was a lightly dressed Greek salad. So fresh! My entree was the Shrimp Grigori - stuffed with rock crab and served over rice. It was delicious! My husband went with the Titans Tortellini with the meat sauce. He cleaned his plate! This isn't your Italian grandmother's meat sauce. It was sweeter with a hint of cinnamon. Different, but so good. We hadn't planned to order dessert, but then we overheard George telling another table about the "one dessert" that he makes. It's more of a trio. As soon as my husband heard the word cheesecake, his head snapped up. Yep, we ordered it - to go and shared it at home. Mousse was good. Baklava was good. But the cheesecake!!! O M G - probably the best cheesecake I've ever had and as someone who makes a really good cheesecake, that's saying a lot. George was present in the dining room. He visited every table multiple times. This is a man who loves what he does and his heritage and he takes pride in all of it. They made us feel very welcomed and appreciated. And to top off the Greek experience, when George learned that we were all "Greektown virgins" (aka first-timers) in the restaurant at that time, he had to break a plate for us. And of course we all yelled Opa! We'll definitely be back when we can rearrange our schedules again, but if you want a true taste of Greece, get yourself to Greektown! read more

What's not to love? Two brothers and a dad running the show. Super friendly service. Great food. I love Greek food and yes I've been to Greece and loved it there too. There are other items on the menu I'd like to try but for the first time here I went with the classic gyro, which had plenty of great tasting meat. It also came with a very tasty salad. Since it was dark outside and I wasn't driving, I'm not sure what the outside looked like nor where we were, but the inside was warm and inviting. So, Mediterranean food isn't usually at the top of my list but I have to say that the food here is excellent. This is a family run restaurant that has been around for years. The owner is very personable and his two sons are cook and waiter. We had a calamari appetizer which was superb and then I ordered the super spicy gyro sandwich. An excellent choice. I also had the wine of the day (a tasty Cabernet) and the owner gave us blue ouzo (a potential addition to the menu) to finish off the meal in honor of one of our party being ready to give birth (very pregnant-no she didn't drink any!) There is a good-sized parking lot. I think you should try this restaurant as it is a perfect place for a date and a flavorful meal. read more

I can not begin to express enough how the calamari will change your life. I will be dreaming of this for months until we come back to AZ from MN. HOMEMADE Tzatziki sauce (they make their own yogurt for the sauce as well), dolmades for days, saganaki, all the things you want from a Greek restaurant. The building from outside doesn't have a "Wow" factor, but the second you step in, you are family. George is super welcoming and an excellent host! His sons Dmitri and Gregory are the best! Went there Saturday night. OMG that place is so unique. George is the ringleader of that circus. He's hustling all over the place. Son, Greg was our server and I gave him a couple of options. He combined them so I got some of both. The lamb was awesome. My lovely date had the Greek wine and I had the Greek beer, all very good. A really fun dining experience.
