Another Mediterranean restaurant to add to our list and like the others, this one didn't disappoint. We were hoping to get the steak platter, but they were cooking a large catering order so they couldn't take anymore grill orders, so we pivoted and got the chicken shawarma platter. It came with rice, greek salad, one pita and a small cup of tzatziki. The only thing it didn't come with, like most of the Mediterranean platters we have ordered at other locations, is hummus. You can purchase hummus separately, but I knew we were going to have too much food as it was so I ordering more food wasn't in the cards. Everything was so tasty! The pita was super soft and warm. The flavors of the chicken, rice, and tzatziki were outstanding. The perfect bite was all four together. The salad dressing was a basic red wine vinegar dressing, it was good, nothing that would knock your socks off. The portions are huge. You can easily share a platter or if didn't you would have another meal for another time. We ordered two pistachio baklava which were also a generous portion and delicious! In all, with one drink, the platter, an extra tatziki, an extra dressing and two baklava, it as just over $30. That is what you would expect for a platter that is huge. The food was so good, and great quality.

My wife and I came to Anthem on business. We stopped at Mr. Gyros for dinner. Absolutely a great choice. I had the Gyros Platter and my wife ordered the Gyros Wrap. Her wrap was packed with meat and was delicious. My platter also had a generous portion of meat served over a large bed of yellow rice along with a Greek salad. When in Anthem, we'll be back.

great prices! We will come here again. The prices are great and the Chicken Gyros were fantastic. They got through a dinner rush so they were in the process of making another batch... we didn't want to wait on it so we just got the gyros. So glad we did. My daughter wanted a cheeseburger and she liked that too. The young lady at the front desk was very nice. The restaurant is in a strip mall and there was plenty of parking

This is an amazing family owned restaurant, my husband always gets the baklava and it's simply divine the steak plater is very plentiful and the rice is always perfect. The food is always fresh and perfectly cooked way better than other gyro places! Bottom line you really get your moneys worth and the food tastes amazing! The meat potions more than enough I usually have to save the rest for lunch!

Great find. Thanks Yelp. In town with my son for a competition and trying to expand his food palette. His first Greek experience. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Busy place with a lot of pickup traffic from locals so a great sign. I had the traditional gyro combo with a Greek salad and he had the Italian Gyro combo with rice. Both were great. This is a traditional strip mall restaurant where you order at the register and then they bring it out. Fun vibe and great food.

The owner and staff are amazingly nice people. The kitchen folk do a great job cooking and serving the food as soon as it is cooked. I had the gyro with fries and a beverage. The food was perfect. I haven't had a gyro this good since living in NY. The city has amazing food all over and now it can be found in Anthem! The fries were perfectly cooked. The food wasn't bad but certainly wasn't good. I recently went to Mr. Gyros and got a variety of items off their menu like the chicken platter, gyro, and a few other appetizers. The food just didn't taste authentic and the flavors in general were off. I'll return to give them another chance but there are many more authentic restaurants in the area that will satisfy your taste for a Mediterranean meal. read more

Omg! This place is delicious. I'm so glad someone o know recommended it. I had the gyros sandwich lunch combo with fries. The meat was seasoned perfectly (I watched the owner/cook cut it off the spit- it was that fresh!), the pita was soft and chewy and held up well. It came with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and tzatziki, which was so creamy and flavorful. The fries were hot and crispy, with a delicious seasoning/coating. My husband had the chicken gyros plate, which included chicken, saffron rice, a Greek salad and pita. He really liked it. Got the largest amount of gyro meat in my pita that I have ever gotten anywhere - including Athens!!! My wife had the grilled chicken pita and was surprised at the amount of meat in it also. We ordered Door Dash from Mr. Gyros last night. I have to say it is the BEST food!!. It was fresh!! the salad was so crisp and the veggies on it were perfect, nothing with frost bite or brown. The gyro meat was still warm and the rice was perfect. We had baclava and it was light and flakey and the filling was not too lumpy or thick. My 5 year old said that the chicken nuggets were the best he's had. "better than McDonalds" LOL. The fries were crisp and hot. We will for sure getting this again!! read more

Just drove up to Anthem to get some gyros at Mr. Gyros and none of the employees were wearing masks. Ya there's plexi up around the cash register but the new guy kept sticking his head around it, there's no plexi between the cooks mouth and my food, and one of the cooks came out to get a soda without a mask. Your a restaurant, at least act like you care about your customers health. It's too bad I really liked their food and the people but I can't go back. read more

We were on our way back home to Tucson from Prescott Valley & had a craving for Mediterranean food. This was one of the options that was closest. I'll be honest, we are very picky about where we choose to eat but since most of the reviews were positive, we decided to give Mr. Gyros a try. We're so glad we did! Our gyro plates & sandwiches were delicious (pictures don't do them justice!) - cooked perfectly, they were plentiful & the prices were awesome for such amazing quality. Don't listen to the negative reviews, the employees were so friendly and kind, and the service was fast. I only wished we lived closer to go again soon! Doesn't look like much when you walk past it but there was some tasty food and nice people in there. My mom and I were shopping on the anthem area and developed a craving for a good gyro. We found one here! Really nice customer service and it seems as though the family works here. The food was good and came out quickly. The salad dressing wasn't for me per se but the food in general was great! Diner style seating and you order at the counter. In a strip mall, so plenty of parking. Definitely worth a shot! They also have quite the hot dog and Philly cheesesteak meals for those who love them :) If in the area, we would go back for sure! read more

My husband ordered the Great Greek Gyro (lamb) with feta fries. The food was unbelievable - especially the feta fries. I could not stop eating them. The restaurant was bright and clean. Parking was plentiful because The Great Greek is located in a shopping center. This is a chain across the country and I definitely would go to another one if I was nearby.

I went here a few weeks ago and ordered the gyros with a side of french fries. Not only do they give you a giant bag of french fries, but they are delicious too! The gyros are also amazing. The pita bread is super fresh and warm and the gyro meat is to die for. I will definitely be going back soon. I want to try more of the menu items, but it's hard when the gyros are so good and I want to order them every time! read more

Dude gyros in Chicago is $4.50 and almost $8 in Anthem Arizona for their crap gyros with fake Tzatziki sauce plus 2.50 to make it a combo? You guys are ridiculous and the customers don't know better. Ive been going to Mr.Gyros for years. I ask for it plain and sauce on the side. I got home it had everything on it and I called them to see if they would fix it and the guy told me no it mine now. I just finished a falafel salad here and am extremely impressed! The service was incredible, and the food was excellent! The tzatziki was so good I would eat it for dessert.
