Another Mediterranean restaurant to add to our list and like the others, this one didn't disappoint. We were hoping to get the steak platter, but they were cooking a large catering order so they couldn't take anymore grill orders, so we pivoted and got the chicken shawarma platter. It came with rice, greek salad, one pita and a small cup of tzatziki. The only thing it didn't come with, like most of the Mediterranean platters we have ordered at other locations, is hummus. You can purchase hummus separately, but I knew we were going to have too much food as it was so I ordering more food wasn't in the cards. Everything was so tasty! The pita was super soft and warm. The flavors of the chicken, rice, and tzatziki were outstanding. The perfect bite was all four together. The salad dressing was a basic red wine vinegar dressing, it was good, nothing that would knock your socks off. The portions are huge. You can easily share a platter or if didn't you would have another meal for another time. We ordered two pistachio baklava which were also a generous portion and delicious! In all, with one drink, the platter, an extra tatziki, an extra dressing and two baklava, it as just over $30. That is what you would expect for a platter that is huge. The food was so good, and great quality.

My wife and I came to Anthem on business. We stopped at Mr. Gyros for dinner. Absolutely a great choice. I had the Gyros Platter and my wife ordered the Gyros Wrap. Her wrap was packed with meat and was delicious. My platter also had a generous portion of meat served over a large bed of yellow rice along with a Greek salad. When in Anthem, we'll be back.

great prices! We will come here again. The prices are great and the Chicken Gyros were fantastic. They got through a dinner rush so they were in the process of making another batch... we didn't want to wait on it so we just got the gyros. So glad we did. My daughter wanted a cheeseburger and she liked that too. The young lady at the front desk was very nice. The restaurant is in a strip mall and there was plenty of parking

This is an amazing family owned restaurant, my husband always gets the baklava and it's simply divine the steak plater is very plentiful and the rice is always perfect. The food is always fresh and perfectly cooked way better than other gyro places! Bottom line you really get your moneys worth and the food tastes amazing! The meat potions more than enough I usually have to save the rest for lunch!

Great find. Thanks Yelp. In town with my son for a competition and trying to expand his food palette. His first Greek experience. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Busy place with a lot of pickup traffic from locals so a great sign. I had the traditional gyro combo with a Greek salad and he had the Italian Gyro combo with rice. Both were great. This is a traditional strip mall restaurant where you order at the register and then they bring it out. Fun vibe and great food.

Love this place. Really great food, reasonably priced. They have some of the best french fries in anthem. Beware the italian gyro is pretty spicy, but delicious. The steak kebab platter is great. Yummy rice and good pita bread. Never had bad service and the food is always good read more

We are here while in anthem for an appointment. It was quick & delicious. We loved their fries!! Perfectly cooked!! And their gyro was really, really good!!! SO MUCH MEAT! We were laughing because it was so big we were having a hard time eating it!! That's a great thing! They were super friendly! Finally got over there today. Excellent hot dog. It was like a deli style grilled hot dog with all The chicago fixins! My husband had the gyro which was excellent with just the right amount of sauce. Good fries as well. We will go back for sure! read more

Best kebab I've ever had. The owners are extremely nice people, and I was honestly blown away by the quality of the food for such a fair price. I highly recommend the beef kebab platter but the gyro was also amazing. Will absolutely be back and looking forward to it. Definitely stop by if you feel like Mediterranean food. When I first read the reviews for this place I figured since there really isn't a good place for quick in and out food in Anthem, maybe it would be over rated. I have since been their three times now. -First time I had the chicken gyro. Nothing special. The chicken was over-cooked on the grill causing it to be dried out. Fries were frozen then deep fried... Yuk! -Second time I had the Gyro which was very good. Instead of the traditional tzatziki I had the spicy feta sauce which was so good. They have one of those mixed Lamb/Beef Gyro towers rotating in the back ground they shave their Gyro goodness from. Their Steak Gyro was even better! -Third time I had their chicken souvlaki plate with roasted chicken rice, and a Greek salad with an awesome home made dressing and loads of Feta. It was a smidgen above average not not towards greatness. They offer good lunch specials and it's one of the better places to go for something quick in Anthem. I recommend their Steak Gryos, but stay away from their pre-frozen fries... read more

We ordered from here based upon proximity and the number of great reviews. Well, it was worth the 40 minute trip roundtrip. Everything was fresh and tasted homemade. The Baklava may be the best I've ever had. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back. read more

Nice family run business. I've only had the gyro which is very good. They even cook the fries properly - fresh to order, golden brown, nice and crisp. Generous portion of meat in the gyro but I'll ask for extra cucumber sauce and onions next time as I had several bites that were only bread and meat. Don't get me wrong- there is no such thing as too much meat. There is such a thing of not enough sauce for it. I'll probably be a regular whenever I need a gyro fix. read more

Wow! Okay so my friends daughter told me about Mr. Gyros and to me how good it was so the next day I had to try it. I called to place in order hoping the had swarma but they didn't. The friendly voice on the other end suggested the Gyro so I was like, "yeah cool...ill try it!." I'll try anything once (no seriously...anything), and shit I'm so glad I feel that way. It was seriously sooo good. The gyro was amazing to say the least and the baklava I couldn't pass up was H-E-A-V-E-N SENT!. Also, the customer service is great. I found out that this is a family owned business and I really support that. Thanks to the dude that helped me! Bottom line, the whole experience was way more than I expected. read more

One giveaway is the way they prepare their lamb. Tender, perfectly seasoned and cooked to the value given in the order. For those who don't like lamb, you're really missing out but that should not stop you because all their proteins are equally as wonderful! The salad is exceptional and loaded with feta. The lemon potatoes are terrific as is the rice pudding. I would love to see them start selling HALVAH because there just isn't enough of it in Arizona! The only things that are so-so about the place have nothing to do with the food. The parking is less than desirable as are the comfort of their chairs but as long as they keep up this quality of the meal, I will definitely keep coming back and bring special guests when I do. They gave us a number and we found a table to sit down at. After ordering, our food was delivered to the table in about 5 minutes. For myself, I ordered a Greek Salad wrap. My husband ordered the Great Greek Gyro (lamb) with feta fries. The food was unbelievable - especially the feta fries. I could not stop eating them. The restaurant was bright and clean. Parking was plentiful because The Great Greek is located in a shopping center. This is a chain across the country and I definitely would go to another one if I was nearby.

I went here a few weeks ago and ordered the gyros with a side of french fries. Not only do they give you a giant bag of french fries, but they are delicious too! The gyros are also amazing. The pita bread is super fresh and warm and the gyro meat is to die for. I will definitely be going back soon. I want to try more of the menu items, but it's hard when the gyros are so good and I want to order them every time! read more

Dude gyros in Chicago is $4.50 and almost $8 in Anthem Arizona for their crap gyros with fake Tzatziki sauce plus 2.50 to make it a combo? You guys are ridiculous and the customers don't know better. Honest to God this place is a ripoff and crap quality. Pass on this joint unless explosive diarrhea appeals to you and you are easy to take advantage of. read more

Ive been going to Mr.Gyros for years. I ask for it plain and sauce on the side. I got home it had everything on it and I called them to see if they would fix it and the guy told me no it mine now. I will never go here again. I'm sorry to all my friend that I told to go here. I will be going to the gyros on happy valley now. read more

I just finished a falafel salad here and am extremely impressed! The service was incredible, and the food was excellent! The tzatziki was so good I would eat it for dessert. Mr. Gyros in Anthem is the same great food on Bell Road. I recommend the Mr. Gyros combo, for a better deal order the JR. Gyros combo.
