The food and staff at this location are always wonderful I have gotten many different things on the menu and all have been wonderful ! I like sitting on the bar patio I just wish the ac blower whatever it is wasn't so powerful I have been to other outside bar seating areas that don't have that so I'm not sure why they feel they need it. Very good menu and food items. Enjoyed learning from our waitress she and her husband, along with a partner, own it. Her mother-in-law is the cook. We had the 10 taco flight. It was great in that you can try a wide sampling of all their tacos in a beautiful presentation and it is all very tasty. Ingredients are fresh and plentiful with a full range of proteins (shrimp, chicken, pork and beef) all very delicious. It sits at the end of a string of strip center units which is nothing unique, but it is predictable, clean and open. I'm a lover of all things local and today I found the most wonderful place. If I'd of listened to some of the reviews I read or based my stop on what the outside looked like I'd of missed something amazing. One of my pleasures in life is stealing away a little time with my family for some food or fun and sharing that experience with others. Today we stopped in to try Limón Urban Kitchen. I've driven by a handful of times and decided to stop this time. While the parking lot was a bit of a mess and half closed for repaving I was able to find a spot close by. The outside doesn't do it justice since it sits in an unassuming shopping small, but it has a great outdoor patio with misters and TVs. Once inside I was a little unclear if I needed to wait or be seated because no one was at the hostess station. Soon after however a wonderful woman came up, greeted us and promptly took us to our table. She took our drink orders left us a few menus and time to look them over. We ordered chips and salsa (.99 an order, but very clear on the menu) while we decided. I was pleased to see they offer breakfast until noon daily. The menu has some great options, but my eyes quickly went to the vast taco options. 12 to be exact. Did you know here you can even order a 10 taco flight? Yum! The tacos come à la carte so rice and beans or other sides are extra. Great prices though for portion size. I chose three tacos; green chili pork, chili lime shrimp and beef barbacoa with a side of rice and beans. We also ordered the fajitas. There is a full bar and many TVs inside as well. They offer trivia nights as well. It was not busy when we arrived, but quickly noticed a lot of door dash and walk in orders. Everything came out fairly quick and looked beyond fantastic. Let me tell you I love love love shrimp tacos and this was phenomenal. Filled to the brim and seasoned well with a good kick to it. My barbacoa had good flavor as well. The green chili pork was good but I think I'd prefer that one with corn tortillas next time as it got soggy from the juices. That's personal preference though and I'll remember to ask next time. The rice and bean side portions were huge and I didn't come close to finishing them. The pinto beans were seasoned well. The fajitas stole the show for sure. They were so full of meat, not chewy and didn't skimp out like most places around. The veggies were portioned out well too but if you're looking for a place that actually gives you good meat portions this is your spot. My husband raved about them. They also gave 6 tortillas which again was great because typically you're lucky if you get 4 max. They offer happy hour daily from 3-6pm. At the end I asked if the restaurant was locally owned or a chain and I was pleased and surprised to find out the woman waiting on us the entire time was one of the owners. Her husband soon walked by and she introduced him as well. They were both so lovely. We were told his mother is the cook in the back and while she runs the front he and his mom do a lot of the back behind the scenes. You could tell the love that really goes into this place and the flavors full of it as well. They said they are hopeful of a second location soon and we can't wait for it to happen. Hopefully nearby us so we can support more often. Prices were more than fair for portion size. Please show your support by stopping in and help this amazing family crush their dreams. Limon Urban Kitchen is really a Mexican Sports Bar Restaurant located in north Phoenix. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. They gave us complimentary warm chips and tasty salsa. We added on the house made roasted white poblano queso. The queso for my taste could use more cheese and more poblano. I tried the lettuce fajita wraps. I thought they'd be wrapped up for me but they weren't. Actually all the hot meat and vegetables were piled over the lettuce so the lettuce sort of disintegrated and was next to impossible to use. BUT THE CHICKEN WAS TRULEY GREAT! It might have been the very best fajita chicken that I have ever tasted anywhere. It was developed with amazing flavors and was so tender and delicious. My husband tried the enjitomatada plate (carne asada). I tried a small piece of beef and it also was delicious and tender. I highly recommend to get anything with that same fajita chicken. read more

I've driven past about a hundred times and today I finally stopped in. First, I was genuinely surprised at how upscale it was inside, the atmosphere is great and the patio is awesome with plenty of shade so it's actually useable. I just wanted to grab a quick lunch, so I went for two tacos and the chips and salsa. The chips were fine, just needed some salt, they were on the dry side but definitely not stale. The mild salsa I pretty much ignored, the hot had great flavor but I wish there was a hotter one using arbol chiles. I was thrilled to see Nopalitos on the menu for a street taco, they were perfectly cooked and seasoned. 10/10 on those. I also grabbed a fish taco which was terrific. The fish was tender, not over cooked, the breading was perfect(!!!!) The portion was small but that's fine with me cause I'd rather have a high quality piece of fried fish served in a small portion than badly cooked large portions. Overall it was fairly priced at $3 I think. It would be nice to see another topping like some pickled onions with the fish taco though. Server was fine, got my order correct, kept an eye on me. (I work in the restaurant biz so I'm slightly critical of bad servers when I encounter them) No complaints here. I'll definitely be back! read more

Stumbled upon this amazing gem the other day. Literally the best quesadilla ever! Took back a group of friends the next day and the rest of the menu did not disappoint. We brought our doodles and sat on patio. They also have an amazing bar setting outside as well. I have to mention the Manager! My pups tummy was not in a good place from eating something at the Lake...who knows what, anyhow. I asked the manager if they had plain rice and they did not, he went out of his way and went to the Thai restaurant next door and scored me some!!!! I was so happy! I'm 100% baffled by the 4 star reviews on here for the quality of the food, manner in which it is served and the overall menu. I get the idea that had we tried the margaritas our take away may have been different, seems those are what "make the meal" for many reviewers. Well, here we go... Chips are advertised as homemade and are okay, super thin, the salsa was good. I ordered a Blue Moon which was served with no orange. Just something to make a note of since that is pretty much the "norm" when serving this beer. One dinner order was for the Carne Asada Plate which is Skirt steak / spanish rice / pinto beans / warm flour tortilla and they are not kidding! They literally serve the whole skirt steak piece on the plate, probably to take up space to visually create the illusion that you are actually getting a $20.00 meal. SOME pinto beans and SOME rice. Oh and they graciously serve you ONE tortilla, that's it! We later saw on the menu that if you wanted to order 1 flour tortilla as a side, that would cost you another $2.00 but hey, it's a LARGE one so why not charge extra for that?! Now, not only is it odd and frankly inconvenient to have the skirt steak served in one whole piece so you can spend your meal time getting to cut it all up but the fact that this is sold at a $20.00 price point and there is no pico de gallo, no sour cream, no lime wedge, not even a little cilantro garnish served to add something to the meat and the ONE tortilla you get. This is served "bone dry" and makes this meal very much a let down! There was also a complimentary soup served, a cup of sopa de fideo. It looked like something out of a Lipton soup package and tasted the same, lacking any sort of spices and beautiful tomato flavor that this soup normally boasts. The other dinner order was a Burrito ($13.99) (see photo) which includes Pinto beans / Spanish rice / Pico de Gallo / cheddar jack / side pickled salad (see photos) / plus your choice of protein (did chicken). The order was placed as described but was requested to be prepped Chimichanga Style +$1.00 for this, they charge you for this so it must be done with great finesse'. Now, most would have made the assumption that meant it would have been deep fried just like a chimichanga , more on that to follow . Also ordered was a side of the $3.00 guacamole (see photo) and sour cream $1.00. Grand total is now $19.00! The plate was dropped and the curiosity over the side pickled salad was quickly deflated when the plate arrived with a few carrot slivers, LOTS of onion slivers and 1 piece of what was believed to be a green pepper. Taste wise, underwhelming at best much like the visual. Next was the chimichanga style prepared burrito. This looked like something from the Cornish Pastry restaurant and if you've ever been there, you'll know exactly what I mean. It resembled a baked burrito and was not even close to "chimichanga style" hence the grate marks on the outside from it sitting in an oven. Needless to say, that rendered the crust to be not as expected and a let down for the extra $1.00. When cut open there was plenty of the rice and pinto bean filling as noted in the description however, lacking was the cheese and the pieces, yes pieces of chicken were so small they were over powered by everything else inside and was tasteless. Okay lets add that $3.00 guacamole. Dipped my fork into the bowl took a taste and immediately all I tasted was a disgusting mustard flavor. My guest said it was over saturated with vinegar making in inedible. The taste and texture was like something out of a grocery store that was pre-made and had been sitting on the shelf for 2 weeks with no fresh ingredients or chunkiness whatsoever. It was a blended down mixture with no chunks of tomato OR avocado. I even tried to "doctor" it up with the pico on the table and some lime but there was no saving whatever this was, it definitely wasn't homemade guac! At the end of our meals, we took noticed that the "condiments" were off in the back next to the bathrooms which included Cholula among other options (see photo attached) yet none of these were on the tables. As dry as everything was served, it would be nice to have these out to be used and not sitting next to the bathrooms. At the end of the day, based on the prices being charged versus the quality of the food and the fact that there are no side add-in options included with the meal whatsoever, if you like really dry Mexican food that's overly priced, you'll really like this place. So looking forward to when Someburros opens up off of Jomax & the I-17, food is overall 100% better and the price point is in line with what is served. read more

This was awful. We went for lunch, and oh man, just gross. I asked for chicken nachos, and they were beef. The cheese tasted like powdered cheese, it's nachos, not rocket science. I feel bad because the service was good the food is just awful. The others at the table were not happy either. Hubs and I had driven by LIMóN numerous times and always said "one night we'll stop in"... well, that "one night" was Tuesday night. After a long day of running errands, hubs was hungry and we happened to drive by. I suggested we stop in and he agreed -- yasss! We walked in literally at 8:49pm and instead of being told "we're about to close", we were welcomed with smiling eyes (due to masks you can't see the staff's smiles... sad). We both felt as if we walked into a relative's home where the door is always open and they're ready to whip up a meal if you're hungry. Hubs and I were so grateful to have barely have made it, that we decided to be quick as to not be an inconvenience (not that we were; we just wanted to respect the staff's time and not linger too long). We sat at the bar and Lily grabbed us two draft dos equis quickly. She went a few of the menu items with us -- yes, I had questions, haha -- but we ultimately both got a burrito; hubs got the beef barbacoa, and I got the chicken adobado. We barely took a few sips of our beer before we had our food in front of us (carefully wrapped and 'protected' cuz COVID). We opened our burritos, and that first bite took us to Mexico. You know, the little taco stand mom-and-pop with abuelita cooking that authentic-from-scratch Mexican food? Yea, that! Then Lily told us that all the menu items are the owner's mom's authentic Mexican recipes... and let me just say, it shows. The food was extremely flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Just mouthwateringly delicious. Lily also told us about happy hour and their event coming up Tacochella (I think that's what it's called), and hubs and I decided that we were DEFINITELY coming back. Not only is the food amazing, but the portions are fairly big (I couldn't finish my burrito so I took it to-go for lunch the next day and it was even more delicious because the flavors marinated even more), and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. So if any of you doubt coming and trying LIMóN, don't. Just go eat here, you won't be sorry... you're welcome! I was so excited to write this updated review. This restaurant gladly read my review and decided to save water here in the valley. Don't think I didn't notice months ago and thank you for supporting water conservation here in the desert. We finally tried the restaurant and what a nice place. Our server was fantastic, knew her menu and had a great smile and attitude. My husband had street tacos. The flour tortillas were just like Puerto Penasco, small and so thin. Hubs said it was the best chicken and carnitas tacos he has ever had. I had the 3 chicken sopes. They were equally delicious. The tortilla chips were ever so thin and crispy. The salsa was not hot, which is sometimes a good thing, but what we loved was the freshness! Tons of flavour. Thanks Limon, we'll be back. read more

So it's like a chipotle style. You choose what you want, like burrito, taco, bowl, etc. then your protein and toppings. We got 3 tacos for $2 tacos. They were okay. There's 2 different tortillas to choose from corn or flour. We also got a bowl but it was very dry it needed some type of sauce on it.
